I just checked out the 'Best of DAZ' promotion pages, and ended up confirming what I have been suspecting all along: I already have the Best of DAZ!

Yep, almost everything in the sale is something I have already acquired! (All but two from the 50%-off category -- and one of those is the Indie Game Developer License; everything in the 60%-off category; and all but nine from the 75%-off group -- and none of those really count, because most are 'Starter' bundles (when I already have the 'Pro' bundles, which include them), and 'Suites', consisting of stuff I already acquired independently!)

It' getting to the point where the sales just aren't sporting anymore!

Come on, DAZ, up your game!

If someone gets this could you see if it works without the listed figures? It says that it requires FIVE different base Genesis 3 characters. I'm really hoping that's not the case. Could someone test it and see if it actually requires them or does it just say that because it's compatible with them? Seams like having to own five different G3 base figures is a bit of a steep requirement for a product. I'm fairly new so I only have V7 - however I really like these body shapes - they are so cute!

If you plan on getting them, could you check to see if they actually require owning all those figures?

I REALLY hope not! These are adorable!

For me, I think most poses sets should include upper and lower pose options. Few things are more frustrating than a set that has the perfect hand position, but the lower half of the body is completely wrong for what you need or vice versa. While it's asking a lot, it would be nice if hand held props also included pose sets as well. I also think the market is probably over saturated with modeling/ cheesecake poses.

There's a little story leading up to this question... over the past two years I've been scratching out as much free time as I can to gear up for the challenge of becoming a PA here at DAZ. Mostly, that has meant solidifying my 3D modeling skills, which have been a learn-at-need sort of thing for years. The thing that got me started was designing characters for use in my 2D digital art, and that quickly expanded into customizing materials to make the most of a slowly growing content library. I have been working with Photoshop for many years before DAZ made it possible for me to start learning 3D--something I'd long wanted to do, but couldn't spend money on. I am planning on trying my hand at everything, but the obvious first choice for me to start with as a PA is character design. I ran into a problem when I needed to start making skins for my male characters; there do not seem to be any really good M5 resource skins--which seems to be the most versatile UV to work with right now.

Surprise, surprise, I ended up making my own M5 skin, developed from Raiya's Sensual Skin Resource for V5. This involved more than a month of cutting, warping, splicing and painting--even in channels to repair jpg artifacts that pop out under the right light or filter combinations. I'm pretty happy with the result, and am now working on the first set of characters for sale. It occured to me that others might like to have this resource, so I shot a note to the submissions committee and started looking for a way to PM Raiya and see if she'd be willing to approve and share credit for it. I am casting a line out to anyone out there who can point her at me, and throwing the question out there on the off chance I get approval and DAZ is interested in the skin. Here are a few pics of the skin on Michael 5, in the promo art style.

So, I'd love to hear people's thoughts on the resource; both if it interests you, and what counts as fair use of a merchant resource, or how to reach Raiya. Oh, here are a few characters using derived skins, and one using the V5 resource.

My confusion is the line "Get an EXTRA 20% OFF already discounted artist catalogs from our "Dragon Them To Hell" promotion. - no qualifying purchase required. "

when i put in "Dragon Them to Hell" my cart and try to check out , the extra 20% did not apply, So did I miss something? (see capture) or does that extra 20% with no qualifying purchase required. " require addition purchases?

Thanks for any clarification

Hello:

I purchased the G3M swimsuit by Daz 3d/Nathy, but it does not have a file for the standard Daz Install Manager, and the manual download appears to only have the templates. I have tried to download the Offline Package and the Offline Authorization; they have been downloaded to my computer, but I have no way to open them. According to the Daz site, I should be able to open and install these files in my Daz Studio Formats directory by using an "Install Offline Products" action in the either Smart Content or Content Library pane, but no such action exists in my Smart Content or Content Library. What am I doing wrong? Any assistance will be greatly appreciated. Thanks!

This isn't an M series, or "for notebooks," it's the GTX 1060, GTX 1070, and GTX 1080 inside laptops.

"They're nearly identical to their desktop counterparts, with only a slightly slower base clock speed on the GTX 1060 when it's inside a notebook" says Aevermann.

At the top of the line, the GTX 1080 will run 2,560 CUDA cores at 1733Mhz, with 8GB of GDDR5X memory. The GTX 1070 (designed to replace the 980M) will run 2,048 CUDA cores at 1645Mhz with 8GB of GDDR5 memory, and the GTX 1060 (designed to replace the 970M) will run 1,280 CUDA cores at 1670Mhz with 6GB of GDDR5 memory.

I have plushies I would like to convert to 3d figures. I do not have a 3d scanner. I was thinking of making sketches of my toys. With aid of my sketches model a 3d version of toy. Then weight map for ds (maybe poser but ds first.) And texture it and make cute poses etc for it.

Trying to decide on the modeler but here is the first plushie to be tried. The 3d figure would not be exactly like the real plush as I doubt I would do the tags under its tail to say it is,made by new stuff. Of course I would use new polygons with new texture pixels. Lol!

Would it be cool?

Like most of you, I have a lot of 3rd-party products I use in Daz, some from other sites and some freebies. I usually would install them manually, but got Content Package Assist to help with the installs through DIM. However, I was just wondering this... how do you go about installing things like that through Connect? Where is the folder you would put the freebies and 3rd-party purchases in like you would with DIM so it installs them for you?

This has probably been covered somewhere, but since I just upgraded to v4.9 a few days ago, I didn't really pay attention to the v4.9 threads and have no idea where that info would be.

Is this even possible, or would I still use DIM for those items?

It's time to browse the RRRR Twisted Lyrics entries thread, laugh, sing along and vote!

Anyone can vote, not only those participating in the actual contest. You can vote for any entries except for you own entries, and we vote in two categories, Best and Funniest. Best is more of a traditional render contest voting where funniest more takes the humorous look at the image. Some images have a few lines of text explaining the story behind them, which often helps the voting, specially in the funniest category. Each win (1st to 3rd place) will also give the winner at least one sticky Lucky Bastard pull, which means the next round will be a little harder, see below for how wins and Lucky Bastards are counted.

Entries thread here: RRRR Twisted Lyrics entries thread

So, what are we voting about?
What are the prizes?

Winner in the best category:
- One item from Dumor3D's store
- $30 DAZ Store GC

Winner in the funniest category:
- One item from Totte's store
- $30 DAZ Store GC

Second place in the best category:
- One item from Dumor3D's store
- $20 DAZ Store GC

Second place in the funniest category:
- One item from Totte's store
- $20 DAZ Store GC

Third place in either category:
- $15 DAZ Store GC

Fourth place in either category:
- $10 DAZ Store GC

Fifth place in either category:
- $5 DAZ Store GC

The voting starts now, and ends Sunday, August 21, at 23:59:59 DAZ local time.

How votes are tallied and summed up:

Voting points: 1st = 5 points, 2nd = 4 points, 3rd = 3 Points, 4th = 2 Points and Tiebreaker = 1 Point.

If an image gets 1st, two 2nd, one 4th and two tiebreakers in a category, that is 5 + 2x4 + 2 + 2x1 = 17 Points

Every image points per category is summed up, and top three is calculated in each category. As we now have five prizes, a maximum of two entries from the same artist can end up top three in each category, this is to spread the joy a little more.

The image with most points from the same artist will be the base, the the average score for up to for other images will be added to that score, but if that image takes a top three placement, images who got to the cream of the crop with help from other entires, will gain extra LBs based on how many places it climbed, minus one. Here are two examples:

Example 1: The top image from X has 15 points. X also has five other images that has been voted for, 10, 8, 7, 7 & 5 points. Taking the average of the first four images behind the top one is 10+8+7+7 = 8, so the first image which was at 4th place, now gets 23 points and rises to the top and becomes the winner. But, that image climbed 3 steps, so it will not only win, but give the winner 3 LB for the next run.

Example 2: The top image by Y has 11 points, and the second image 9 points. The top image will now have 20 points and go from 5th place to 3rd place, granting Y 2 LB for the next run.

If two images ends up with the same score, we use the same rules as in the European Song Contest, the number of higher scores wins over many lower scores, so if one image has 5+5+5+1 (16) and another has 2+2+4+4+2 (16) the first one will come before.

To avoid vote-spamming, anyone voting needs to post here in this thread that they did vote, and use the same name as they have posting here as the DAZ Forum Name in the first question in the vote system at SurveyMonkey.
