I did my first render with the Marcoor FS. The texturing is brilliant—clearly a lot of care went into making this right. However, when I went to render a cinematic-style widescreen shot, the fact that the entire body occupies one UV map showed up: the render has this weird half-tone-looking effect that I've seen with other renders when the texture maps aren't large enough.

Earlier, I did modify the diffuse map slightly by "painting over" the logo (I'm using it as a stolen pirate ship). I save the file as an uncompressed JPG (e.g., 100% quality), so I don't think that should have made an impact. However, while doing that, I was surprised to see that the part of the file with the FS text on it—a chunk of the ship that's almost as big as a DAZ figure, scale-wise, was very small. So I feel confident the problem is that the ship's body wasn't broken into multiple UV sets and everything must fit on one 4k map. That would be fine if the ship weren't used in close ups, but if you want to render out a DAZ character near the ship at a reasonable size (say 800-1000 px tall), the texture breaks up as show.

I'd urge all PAs to make sure the texture maps they're creating are large enough to match up in scale to a standard DAZ figure. I know there's some compromise with having a bunch of huge maps and render RAM, but I'd rather have to make some adjustments than not have the resources to do a render with a product I've purchased.

One sure way to lower sales is flood the market with too many similar items, or items that are below a certain standard.

I know a lot of PAs put a lot of work into their products as well as the presentation of those products, but I'm noticing that I'm having to wade through a lot of stuff to now get to those products. Products that range from stuff I could have done spinning dials on a base figure, to promos that look like something done on poser back in 2000, and every time that I end up having had to spend time on one of these I feel frustrated.
"Is the product actually better than it's picture suggests? Should I take a chance?" Especially if it's an item that there are no alternatives to and that I've been waiting for.

I know people like to be nice and not criticise, but this hurts the really good PAs as well, because when I see a mediocre item first thing when I click on the Shop Page, it means that a really good product is off screen or on another page somewhere.

Hi all! Daz is obviously best known by the still renders it makes - but I have often used it as an animation tool (as I know others do!). When combined with the right shaders it can make amazing sprite animations for 2D games and I have used it for simple video animations.

I have been working on a game of mine for about 5 years now and I would like to make an intro/cutscene video for it in the future. This will be much more complicated than anything I have done in Daz before. I'm intending to buy the latest animate addon to help me create more complex, layered animations. HOWEVER as everything I know is self taught and I've only used daz for it.. I'm really clueless as to how I might manage some more advanced visual effects.

So for example part of this cut scene will involve a girl tip-toeing across the surface of a lake. In my head each time her toe touches the top it sends out a little ripple in the water. Is something like that acheivable?

I know that daz ISNT animation software. But it is what I have and what I'm used to and I'm very comfortable with the pose, set key frame, do next pose style animation :o Creating my characters in Daz is just a joy also. So if I could do this stuff all in daz.. that would be amazing! But if not where should I be looking? bearing in mind I want to keep working with my daz characters specifically.

Thanks for your time!

I accidentially undocked this tab..... which was not too bad. I was able to minimize the window, open it, max it in size, and so on. That was good.

But then, even worse, I eleminated the controls which let me open that wondow/tab to max.

How can I set it back the original, default setting.

I've already got Growing Up for G3F, both the morphs & the textures and really like it. Does Teen Josie 7 add anything to the mix besides a different face morph and texture? If I didn't already have Growing Up, I'd get her just to have a young body morph but I already have that. But she is cute and on sale. Or i could hold out for Tween Julie 7.

I'm not sure if this question's already been asked and answered yet, or not, so I'm going to go ahead and ask.

Will the shaders that are labeled for Iray work in 3delight, or no?

If not, that's going to be a complaint that I'm going to make. Not all of us have computers that will be able to use Iray, and not all of us are going to be able to afford Iray for our computers, but I've seen some of the Shaders that I'd like to be able to use, but they're labeled for Iray. Before I get them, and are disappointed that they don't work, I thought I'd ask.

Thank you for your time,

Heya.

I'm wondering if anyone happens to have the Rianna Dress by Nikisatez, as I'm curious as to whether the long sleeves have their own material zone(s) so that they can be dialed off (opacity) to convert the garment to cap sleeves/sleeveless.

http://www.daz3d.com/rianna-outfit-for-genesis-3-female-s

Also, if so, does this PA normally use separate sones for sleeves in other such garments?

Thank you kindly!
