I was trying to prepare a Genesis character for clothing in Marvelous Designer, so I was posing it with the limits off.

I'm really clueless when it comes to animation so what I usally do was that I drag the Timeline bar thingy all the way to the righjt while the model is in T-Pose, and then start posing. I usually do this so that I can export as .dae to Marvelous Designer. Then I replace the static T-Pose figure with the animated one I made, and hit simulate.

But this time I tried that (this is the first time I tried with limits off, I think), the pose looks slightly different. The arm was less rotated as if it was affected by the limits options (I'm not completely sure about it). I tried various different options.

I usually checked the "Animation" checkbox and the two below it ("Include transformations" and "Include morphs"). So I tried again with only the "Animation" checkbox, but it didn't have the animation when it was exported leaving me with only the static posed figure

I'm so frustrated and can't figure out any solution. Can anyone point out what in the hell did I do wrong?

I've been doing some experiments with photometric lights, learning about the geometry funtions.

The problem with them, though, is changing the geometry of a point light is only visible when you render it, not when you're wanting to pose it, move it, etc.

I figure parenting it to a Primitive in the same shape (for example, a sphere) that you change it's size while you change the light's would make it easy to pose/move/etc...possibly I could set up a control that does both at once...

BEFORE I invest time in trying to make some of these, though, I figured I should ask...has anyone already done this?

The content files fall into three basic types of installs:

1. DAZ Studio Files. These can be identified by not having any "Runtime\Libraries\..." files. These are the files that show up under "DAZ Studio Formats" in the Content Library pane within DS. (Shown on the left in my attached screenshot.)

2. Poser Files. These can be identified by having only "Runtime\Libraries\..." files. These are the files that show up under "Poser Formats" in the Content Library pane within DS. (Shown on the right in my attached screenshot).

3. DAZ Studio Files & Poser Files. These have both of the above files and appear in both DAZ Studio Formats as well as Poser Formats.

1 and 3 of the above I have a handle on.

2 is the one that is giving me trouble. Is there any easy way to locate the #2 items through DIM so that I can isolate them? Maybe with a "file::.." search through the installed content? Or some other flag that I am not aware of?

I doubt about the license of environment building products, like bryce, terradome 2+3, and iReal Animated oceans. If I look at European jurisdiction for music rights, I would say that the user of such products is the artist and the seller sells only a tool. If my artistical contribution is more important than the artistical contribution of software developer of the tool, I can use it in an Indy game without any other license. The only problem seems to me concerning the materials, shaders and textures of the original software tool. I have to replace them by my own ones if I want to use them in a commercial product without special license. But the developer of the tool has to give me the opportunity to replace those parts. If he doesn't show a way to do it, I am not supposed to exchange it by my own ones.

Am I correct?

(P.S.: I'm not speaking about the DazOriginal Gaming license, that I already own, but about royalties for plugins.)

It's no big deal to me - at that price there's still more than I enough I can do with Lily for her to represent value for money, and the missing morphs don't seem to make much difference to her anyway, but I thought I'd mention it for the benefit of anyone who encounters her when the sale is over and who doesn't own Karen and Eva.

For those on the fence about GPU, GTX980Ti (runs @1320 at thermal limits 80C) - 67 seconds for Megan-Matt, 56 seconds for Megan

Hi,

I have some feature Requests for the Shop:

1) Would it be possible to show the Wishlist Comment on the Product Page.

It is annoying to have to search the Product in the Wishlist agin to know what you commented on it

2) Could you make the Wishlist sortable by Wishlist Comment

3) Could you show the "NEW" Banner also in the Wishlist view

It was late. I was going through the Catch-Up sale listings -- page by page. Selecting one item after another. After another. Toon Ghost? Why not? Ooooh, that M4 hair looks nice. And Victoria can always use some more pumps... Then, the silent hand of time struck! Silently and without warning, the $88 in my shopping cart -- a large but managemable number -- turned into a hideous, unspeakable MONSTER of $512! Ghhaaaaa! Time had run out.

Oh well... if there's an end-of month catch-up, I'll try to get started on my shopping earlier. If not... well, there's always another sale.

Specifically I'm looking at : http://www.daz3d.com/bryce-7-pro-deep-space-hdri-1

Obviously the Bryce setting files wouldn't, but the .hdr files? If yes, how is the best way to figure out the various settings to use when you plug the .hdr into the render settings? (which is actually a more general question for any .hdr not part of a Daz set).

When I saw this, I was really excited and almost immediately bought it. It looks great for the kind of stuff I'm doing now. But then I noticed the silly high-heel boots. As an option, that would be great, but if you want to do an image with somebody doing space exploration and you don't want to make it pure cheesecake, than those boots are just silly. Even if I had to pay a bit extra to get the boots morphed into flats with some texture on the soles, I'd do that. But right now, because the boots look fairly integrated into the whole outfit, if I bought this, I'd really be buying it for the helmet and hoping I could use it with something else. This makes me sad.

I just purchased this and ran the install from the DIM - it reports that Figure Metrics for both 32-bit and 64-bit installed successfully, but not Measure Metrics for either version, and I don't see anywhere to get details on WHY it failed. I tried going into the download folder and extracting the zip file, but still no go in 4.9 Public Build.

Any suggestions? That's a lot of money for a product that won't install.
