      <description><![CDATA[<p>Hi Dazcateers. I&#39;m just about to start (trying) to use toon generations with the aim of putting together a project using Little Soldiers. Has anyone used these &nbsp;products and would you like to offer any tips or advice please. I&#39;d also like to give the Little Soldiers a rifle each does anyone know if this can be done? Lastly, are there any tutorials that would help me with toon generations.</p>

      <description><![CDATA[<p>Playing with this camera setting. Trying to get one of those camera above, figure below and the head is massive and the feet are tiny.</p>

<p>Lowering the Focal Length has no effect on the render. Made a new camera from perspective view, by the way.</p>

<p>I&#39;m doing something wrong, not sure what it is though....</p>

<p>AND is there any way to show what the lens is doing and how the scene is warping BEFORE I render?</p>

<p>I guessing on numbers and rendering in poor quality to test the changes.</p>

      <description><![CDATA[<p>Hey all, so I just recently purchased Mimic Live and I was wondering if anyone knows of a configuration file existing for Gen 2 F/M figures?</p>

<p>Seems they stopped at Michael/Victoria 4, or at least that seems to be the latest profiles included with my purchase. And I don&#39;t see any add-on profiles in the Daz store.</p>

<p>If additional dmc&#39;s do not exist, is it possible to somehow creat a custom .dmc file?</p>

      <description><![CDATA[<p>Are other Firefox users experiencing this problem: Sales disappear when&nbsp;I click on the product page and&nbsp;add to cart doesn&#39;t appear to do anything though when I open the cart, the item(s)&nbsp;DO appear, and are listed at the sale price. The forum is broken as well - can&#39;t add comments or start threads.</p>

<p>Internet Explorer works fine - but of course requires using Internet Explorer. And I prefer to only boot Windows for video games and Daz Studio&nbsp;(problem isn&#39;t specific to Linux though, Firefox on Win10 has same problem).</p>

<p>I do use the&nbsp;NoScript add-on so that could be the culprit, but I haven&#39;t had a problem with it as long as I allow scripts on the necessary domains. I&#39;ve even tried allowing scripts globally, but no luck.</p>

<p>Is there a way to parent an object to another WITHOUT using the drop down list?</p>

<p>I&#39;ll take anything else at this point.</p>

<p>My fantasy? Being able to click another item in the viewport and BAM! Parented.</p>

<p>I&#39;ll take a text field that lets me search by entrering letters.</p>

<p>There seems to be no way to collapse the list or control how extensive it is.</p>

<p>I want to attach a hand to an object. That object doesn&#39;t seem to appear in the list at all. Once my scene builds to many characters and objects, that list is almost impossible to search through for the individual item I want.</p>

<p>Once I open the &quot;Parent to&quot; menu, everything else is disabled except picking something from the drop down tree.</p>

<p>There is obviously a&nbsp;better way. Anyone know what it is?</p>

<p>In the secene tab, where you have your list of workable items, there&#39;s an eye this Visibility and an up arrow and a check that can become an X anyone know what the up arrow indicates and what checking the...check does....it seems to have no discernable effect.</p>

<p>And...and aside from pinning an item, is there a way to lock an item in time and space? lol</p>

<p>I have an arm/hand ina perfect place - relative to the scene. I want to mess around with the figure, but NOT let the hand move in its 3-D space. Pinning, I understand, is to keep teh rag doll effect (or IK I think) from chaining to connected bones. How can I lock an item so that it does not move no matter what else happens to the figure? Possible?</p>

      <description><![CDATA[<p>So I&#39;m trying to creature game characters for Unity. Yes, I have the license to do so, Yes I know about 3dMorph, Sorry if this sounds off, just wanted to get those out of the way upfront.</p>

<p>Anyways, I&#39;ve seen several tutorials on how to reduce material zones, how to use the texture atlas, how to simplify the figure to make it better for unity. However, almost every tutorial I can find Starts with a beautiful 4k LOD figure, and no explanation of how they achived this. I have learned over the last 2 weeks of Normal Map baking, which turns &quot;potatoes&quot; into beautiful sculpts... However, no matter how I try, my &quot;potatoes&quot; still look like &quot;potatoes&quot; but with shadows after I do the same...</p>

<p>After 2 weeks of almost all my free time being directed into trying everything I can, I finally got a statue that looks like what it should, but it was still 11,000 polys. Anything less than that looks like a &quot;potato&quot;, and anything under 9000 polys is unusable in my book, and looks nothing like the 4000 poly figures in the tutorials.</p>

<p>So does anyone have the settings in decimator or a link to a tutorial on how to reduce a figure to around the 4-6k poly range and not have it go full potato?</p>

<p>I have an idea for a Genesis 3 Female texture set which would require a seamless texture across the skin surfaces, the problem being that the existing UV islands have different scales (eg the face is packed much tighter for more detail).</p>

<p>There&#39;s also the problem of seams.</p>

<p>Does anyone know if its possible to paint a seamless texture on a 3d model, retaining the original UV&#39;s?</p>

As far as I can tell there are no instructions. Can anyone help me out here? I would email the person who sold it but not sure how to get an email to him&nbsp; FirstBastion. There is only a small readme stating I can&#39;t share the textures, which I wouldn&#39;t do anyway. Is there a list of vendor emails?</p>

<p>it worked perfectly, I saved my scene and the render then closed Daz. I opened the render in photoshop, then realized I needed to make some changes. I opened the scene back up in daz and it was like I never clicked the &quot;to obj&quot; button. The files that were created are saved in my documents/daz3d/studio/LAMH/geometries</p>

<p>My question is how do I get them back into daz under the LAMH object without having to use the &quot;to obj&quot; and recreating the files again. See the menu in the 4th image in the above tutorial link.&nbsp;</p>

      <description><![CDATA[<p>I am putting together an item that I plan on distributing to others.</p>

<p>One optional part of the item is a few simple props that I made and imported, then parented to G3F&#39;s head.</p>

<p>Since they are simple props being parented to the head, with specific parameters, I decided to make it a wearable preset.</p>

<p>After saving my wearable preset, I renamed the source folder I imported from, to see if the preset would load properly without having to access the obj from the folder I imported from.</p>

<p>It loaded fine, with all parameters correct.</p>

<p>I saved the wearable preset with the name lump, and in the folder where it is saved I have a lump.duf and a lump.duf.png.</p>

<p>Is the geometry of the imported prop I made in the lump.duf, or is it somewhere else?</p>

<p>I just want to make sure I get all the files necessary together before distributing.</p>

      <description><![CDATA[<p>I am trying to bend the feet to fit into some shoes but there are no controls to bend the feet or toes, all that is there is the bigger biody parts did they leave this feature out in newer versions or if I&#39;m not finding it can anyone tell me how to access it or what it takes to purchase something that will let me.</p>

<p>I really like this room because of the layout and because it can be customized a lot. However, the scenes (including the people) are coming out very grainy. I&#39;ve even doubled the rendering time and it still is coming out grainy. Is there some trick that I am not aware of that will make the images less grainy?</p>

      <description><![CDATA[<p>I was sondering what the red morphs JMC that are always locked were. What they are good for, and why they are locked. I was told you need those, to create your own figure but I don&#39;t know what they even are, how to make them, or why they are important. Can anyone tell me? I know it has something to do with making the figure bend well, but.. ERC freezes shouldnt be such a HUGE burdun. I mean if its really like that. That makes the fun of ERC freezing a job nobody wants if you have to create 1000 micro morphs, for each and every single chacter you create. There has to be a faster way... And even if that is the case. I dont know how to get a JMC to work... I know nothing about them as it&#39;s never talked about. I just tried to google it and came up with nothing... It&#39;s not even mentioned in the documentation about creating you own morphs... Either that, or I didnt read it well. I hope someone here knows what I&#39;m talking about. I love making my own people, it&#39;s so much fun, but if their bends fall apart because I didnt spend 6 weeks making micro morphs... Wow... I mean... really there has to be a faster way... That&#39;s an unrealistic amount of work.</p>

<p>Recently, when I tried to open DAZ Studio..it wouldn&#39;t open and I just got&nbsp;the attached alert window message.</p>

<p>I do have the latest driver for these video cards. Occasionally DAZ&nbsp;will open as normal but I haven&#39;t been able work out why or what triggers the issue.</p>

<p>I&#39;m wondering if you have come&nbsp;across this issue?</p>

      <description><![CDATA[<p>Whenever I load&nbsp;up the default Genesis 3 Female,&nbsp;Daz Studio keeps reporting &quot;Duplicate formulas found in files. &nbsp;Make sure that the content is properly installed&quot;. &nbsp;The end of my&nbsp;log file is listed below. &nbsp;There appears to be a problem with an expressions pack called &quot;V7 Attitude&quot; (by Cake One) - I&#39;ve already tried re-installing the pack but the errors keep appearing. &nbsp;The offending expressions appear to be &#39;Happy 2&#39; and &#39;Surprised 2&#39;. &nbsp;Now I used to be able to solve this kind of error by making a minor change to each offending dial (such as changing the colour of the dial), and then entering &quot;File-&gt;Save As-&gt;Support Asset-&gt;Save Modified Assets&quot;. &nbsp;The figure&#39;s assets would be re-saved and usually the errors would go away. &nbsp;But this time, no matter what I do, I can&#39;t get rid of these errors. &nbsp;Can anyone see what I should be doing? &nbsp;These errors are driving me nuts.</p>

      <description><![CDATA[<p>After moving some figures around a scene, the rotate menu behaves differently.</p>

<p>Picking rotation on any axis spins the character in a wide arc instead of spinning/rotating them in place.</p>

<p>I thought it could be fixed by editing the &quot;hot spot&quot; with the joint editor, but no, that&#39;s not it.</p>

<p>I also tried resetting all the transform rotate sliders, but no that&#39;s not it either.</p>

<p>Usually I just eat this and keep moving the character back across the scene, but this time- the arc is massive.</p>

<p>What did I do?</p>

Fit Control for genesis 3 enables you to load&nbsp;morphs into the clothes on the figure by having the figure wearing the clothes selected. Is there a way I can create morphs that will load into the clothing just like fit control loads them or do I have to custom makes the morphs over and over?&nbsp;</p>

      <description><![CDATA[<p>So with iray. Say you have 3 genesis figures in a scene. You need one more but your out of memory. so in order to get that extra person into your scene you have to export a genesis out of the scene and back into the scene. Cause that way the morphs and all the data on the figure isnt hogging up all this memory. So I do that... But when I do copy/paste on surfaces on Genesis dont work. So I save it as a mat preset and still it dont work... So.... How do you get a mat set onto the actor? Theres no way they expect you to do it one surface at a time thats a joke... So how do we do it?</p>
