      <description><![CDATA[<p>So, I spent several dozen hours on an animation that was running/rendering perfectly fine. Then, right after I finished, whenever I rendered the images in Iray, all the figures were gone! The HDRI background remained, but all the figures were gone. They are still there, as I can still select and manipulate them, but this is really annoying, and I can&#39;t seem to find a way to fix it.&nbsp;</p>

<p>Just to get the simple &quot;fixes&quot; out of the way, none of the figures are transparent, none are set to not be visible in the render, and yes, it works on other projects, so it&#39;s specific to this one. If anyone knows what may be wrong, I&#39;d appreciate the help in fixing it!</p>

      <description><![CDATA[<p>So I guess the title explains what I intend to do...<br />
<br />
I want some objects rendered in Iray due to its marvelous quality. But then, I would like to&nbsp;paste them into a scene that is going to be rendered in another program.<br />
<br />
In order to make the final composition&nbsp;realistic though, I need to have proper, terrain-reliant shadows made in DAZ Studio. Otherwise, the shadows simply use a flat ground as a shadow base which is no good. :(<br />
<br />
I actually imported a portion of the terrain from the program I intend to render the rest of the scene in, but I am left with a greyish husk that should not be there.<br />
<br />
So the question is - how can you import a portion of the terrain that <strong>has no color and is just an invisible geometry that receives shadows</strong>? After all, DS does something like this with the default shadow in an epty scene - the ground is invisible but the shadow is.<br />
<br />
Help much anticipated... and appreciatied! :)</p>

      <description><![CDATA[<p>I recently started using Daz3d, I&#39;ve also gotten Hex 2.</p>

<p>The problem is she shapes I transfer to modify with Hex 2 not becoming the same item type before the original transfer.</p>

<p>&nbsp;</p>

<p>For instance Hair..</p>

<p>1. I bring some hair into the sceen with Daz3d, I verify that I can do any hair color I want to from Materials for instance. I send the hair to Hex 2 using Bridge.</p>

<p>2. I play around with the shape, lengths etc... when done I transfer it back to Daz3d using bridge.</p>

<p>3. In Daz3d I have done it several ways, using another figure, and using the Transfer Utility The hair item bonds to the figure, but I the program no longer seem to think it is hair. Even those I chose Hair in The transfer utility. I can&#39;t color it for instance. I go to materials, and hair color does not show up.</p>

<p>4. I&#39;ve done it a different way trying to use normal hair in Daz3d, and using the transfer utility on that instead of a figure. Same, the program does not know it&#39;s hair.</p>

<p>5. Ive tried geometry and Convert to SubD... no good.</p>

<p>What I want to be able to do is take an object in Daz3d, any object... modify it... and bring it back into Daz3d with all the original properties... Obviously there is a way to do it, others do all the time. I&#39;ve searched for tutorials... no good.</p>

      <description><![CDATA[<p>I created an original figure, using the figure setup tool in DS.&nbsp; I had all my bones parented, placed and aligned exactly where I wanted them.&nbsp; I went to the weight mapping tool and chose &quot;Weight Editing&quot;, &quot;Fill by Bone Selection Groups(s)&quot;.&nbsp; Every vertex group was filled to 100% for x,y,z rotations and scale weights.&nbsp; All was good.&nbsp; I saved as a figure asset.&nbsp; Everything worked.</p>

<p>I then realized I needed to change a small part of the geometry.&nbsp; In my modeling program I made the changes, adding some vertices.&nbsp; I exported as an obj file, imported to DS, and used the transfer utility to transfer the rigging and the weight maps.&nbsp; But for some reason the weight maps did not transfer.&nbsp; So I went again to &quot;Weight Editing&quot;, &quot;Fill by Bone Selection Groups(s).&quot;&nbsp; The program crashed.&nbsp; I tried again, saving the duf file before doing any weight mapping, but when trying the weight mapping,&nbsp; crashed again.&nbsp; I tried adding weight maps to individual parts, the program crashed.&nbsp; It seems no matter what I do, weight mapping now causes a crash.&nbsp; Any idea why a bit of extra geometry would cause such a big problem?</p>

      <title>How to Find Morphs by Specific Artist in Shaping Tab/Panel?</title>

<p>I already know how to find content by a specific artist in the Smart Content panel, but I&#39;m trying to sort through a mountain of morphs to find only morphs by a particular artist in the Shaping tab. If you know how to do this, or if there&#39;s a better way to do it, please tell me. Because there don&#39;t appear to be any hard and fast rules on naming conventions (or even content locations in some situations)&nbsp;a lot of simple tasks can become&nbsp;headache inducing. Someone suggested uninstalling everything except the content by the artist I&#39;m searching for, but that&#39;s simply too much. I&#39;m sure there has to be a way. If it matters, the artist is Daz Originals, which must be searched under both&nbsp;&quot;key::DAZ Originals&quot; and&nbsp;&quot;key::Daz 3D&quot; depending on what content I&#39;m looking for when I&#39;m looking in the Smart Content panel. For all I know there may be additional key terms for content that appears under neither of those, but that is beside the point. I just need to know how to find all the morphs associated with that PA so that I can apply them to a character while I&#39;m working on said character. I tried looking at each package and then the list of files in each package and then sorting through the morphs to find said shapes, but that is a mind-numbing PITA, especially since I can&#39;t seem to find exact morphs associated with a given package at times.</p>

      <description><![CDATA[<p>I decided to try out making a wet skin effect by creating a geoshell for the first time. By chance I did it using the recently released Sawyer character, which uses displacement maps to create vascularity, visible veins in his neck, chest, arms...</p>

<p>Well, with the geoshell he looks like a monster because the shell is very visible and dark, and the veins poke through as bright white. I tried pushing the shell away a bit, but then it looks like he&#39;s sealed in thick plastic. I also tried making the shell close to the skin again and adding the same vein displacement map to the shell. That doesn&#39;t seem to work either.</p>

<p>Is this something that <em>can </em>be made to work, or is displacment on the skin just a no-no when adding a &quot;wet&quot; geoshell?</p>

      <description><![CDATA[<p>Ok, Forgive me, but I&#39;m venting out of irritation. I have got into using almost no figures other than Genesis 3 in males. Every time I load any G3, it&#39;s shaped like Guy 7. This has been happening every since he came out and I bought him. I have to go into my shaping tab, track down Guy 7 body and head separately and remove them by the sliders off my G3. I have read up on packaging and selling shapes and morphs. I read somewhere (that I don&#39;t remember now) that if you either do (or don&#39;t do) something certain while making your shape or morph to sell, it would connect itself to another figure in this way. So basically, I&#39;m still waiting for a guy 7 update in my IM. Or...is there something I don&#39;t know in order to fix this?&nbsp; Thanks for reading my gripe!</p>

Well ,the script works perfectly, the problem is with Daz Studio itself and that ridiculous &quot;Duplicate Formulas&quot; popup error message. It halts the script until you hit &quot;Ok.&quot; Is there anyway to get rid of that error? It comes up even a fresh install of Daz Studio and all content.&nbsp;</p>

<p>Please do not lock my thread. If I have to post it elsewhere (offsite), I will, but I&#39;m trying to solve a problem that&#39;s just come to my attention, and I&#39;d like others in the community to voice their opinions on this matter.</p>

<p>Ideally,&nbsp;I&#39;d like for owners of the DAZ Originals Game Developers licenses to answer. I have always understood how it is that we should not sell models in a game in microtransactions in keeping with the applicable EULA. The 3d models ultimately are sold by&nbsp;Daz and they have every right to set whatever boundaries they&#39;d like on how those models are shared in game content. What I do not understand is the addendum to their game developer&#39;s license nested within the current EULA agreement. If you read it, it says the following:</p>

<ul>
	<li>While incorporation of the CRT Content into User&rsquo;s applications is authorized as set forth above, User expressly agrees and acknowledges that any discrete sale of CRT Content separate from a purchase of the User&rsquo;s application is allowable ONLY with express written consent of Daz. Thus, for example, within the context of a game, <strong>the sale or purchase of the CRT Content, portions thereof, or either two-dimensional or three-dimensional derivatives thereof</strong> <strong>as a separately-purchased commodity or upgrade using items of actual or virtual worth is prohibited without prior written consent of Daz</strong>. Written consent of Daz may be sought at the address set forth herein.</li>
</ul>

<p>Does this mean that they&#39;ve changed the license so that game developers cannot sell&nbsp;renderings of Daz models in&nbsp;whatever manner they prefer?&nbsp;A lot of sidescrollling games use 2d art and a lot of rendered art may be sold in this way as customized content. This is not violating the use of 3D models provided by DAZ as far as I can tell, so I do not understand how it is that a 2d rendering of said models cannot be sold in whatever fashion the artist desires. There has never been such a limitation upon any rendered used of Daz models before--not without explicit statements prohibiting commercial use. Frankly, I feel tricked because I&#39;ve spent a lot of money on content that I considered perfectly fine for use in commercial ventures, only to have this change slipped in after-the-fact. But then, read what it says at the opening of the addendum:</p>

<p>&nbsp;</p>

<p>&nbsp; &nbsp; &nbsp;The terms of this addendum 3.0 apply to all products the User has purchased via his/her online Daz store account that can be identified in the online Daz store using the following criteria:&nbsp;</p>

<ul>
	<li>The &ldquo;Artist&rdquo; field in the product page for the Content lists one of the Artists as: &ldquo;Daz Originals&rdquo;</li>
	
	<li>The &ldquo;Artist&rdquo; field in the product page for the Content lists one of the Artists an artist which corresponds to the Game Developer License purchased by User.</li>
</ul>

<p>&nbsp; &nbsp; &nbsp;All Content that can be identified according to the above criteria shall hereinafter be referred to as &ldquo;CRT Content&rdquo;. The terms of this addendum 3.0 do not apply to any other Content.&nbsp;</p>

<p>So the change only applies to those who have purchased the game developers license for Daz Originals and in no other way applies to use of those same models. The way I read this, it suggest that if one wanted to use 2D renders of Daz Originals models, one might be better off without said license because then that entire section does not legally apply, thus there would be no limit on the sale of 2D renders of Daz models. At least that&#39;s what I get from this.</p>

<p>I understand a EULA may change at any time, but they seem to be undermining the very idea that you can do whatever you like with 2D renders of 3D models you purchase. What am I not understanding? And please, don&#39;t tell me to contact sales or support as I&#39;m seeking a response that is not bound by company etiquette, policies, or fear. I&#39;ve spent a lot of money in this store and been a good customer, but if they are going to limit what I do with my renders, I may be forced to take my money elsewhere.</p>

<p>Hope the title halfway explains the problem. I have a G3F holding an object made out of Tempest&#39;s Versatile Tentacle (as seen on CGShare). I can get G3F to do all I want within Puppeteer, but when I try to add morphs to the tentacle-object, problems start. I&#39;ve tried two approaches, neither of which seems to work.</p>

<ol>
	<li>I make a group out of the&nbsp;Tempest Versatile Tentacle (TVT) and G3F, whenever a pose is updated in Puppeteer, all other saved poses change with it. The TVT is parented to G3F&#39;s hand.</li>
	<li>The TVT is not grouped with G3F, but parented to her hand. The TVT moves faithfully with G3F&#39;s hand when the latter is moved, and these transforms are saved in Puppeteer. However, when I apply morphs to the TVT, the morphs apply to all the instances of the TVT, throughout the saved poses within Puppeteer. Ideally, each &#39;morph-tweak&#39; would stay with an individual, saved pose.</li>
</ol>

It is taking me a very long time to move the effect, rotate it one way, then another way, then move it again in a different direction and then rotate it again, etc.</p>

<p>Thanks in advance for any tricks or short cuts that might speed things along.</p>

      <description><![CDATA[<p>Thinking of getting a PC laptop so I can run FaceGen Artist. (I&#39;m a Mac user.) But, I&#39;m also interested in getting one with an Nvidia graphics card so that I can make use of iRay with the graphics card. Here&#39;s one at Fry&#39;s. I&#39;m wondering, would this do it? I&#39;ve read that not all Nvidia cards will render with iRay graphics in DAZ Studio 4.9. So, will this&nbsp;</p>

      <description><![CDATA[<p>I was altering a shader when suddenly the HDR Outdoor Environment disappeared&nbsp;and the viewport resolution dropped on all cameras, perspective view etc. Not fixed by loading a previously saved version.</p>

<p>I have restored the HDR, but cannot get the viewport resolution back up.</p>

<p>Same in Aux viewport.</p>

<p>Rendering works ok.</p>

<p>I would be grateful for some help with this.</p>

      <description><![CDATA[<p>I was wondering if there is still a way, in Daz Studio 4.9, to have a texture fade into another one.</p>

<p>There was a youtube video that I saw once, posted a long time ago, that showed how to use the shader mixer in an older version of Daz Studio that made it look like a character was turning to stone (via the effect of a Gorgon, like Medusa) by using a null object combined with shader mixer blocks, namely an image brick, altitude brick, and mix brick. The issue is that this tutorial was made to be used in conjunction with an older version of Daz Studio, and the bricks are either in a different layout for Daz Studio 4.9, are named differently, or simply have been removed.</p>

<p>I wanted to know if this gradual texture change from one texture to another was still possible with Daz Studio 4.9&#39;s shader mixer, or if now it requires something else, such as a plugin, script, or something of the like.</p>

<p>If it is possible to still accomplish this with the shader mixer, I&#39;d appreciate it if someone would tell me how this is done.</p>

      <description><![CDATA[<p>Hello! I&#39;m having a problem with the Iray renderer in DAZ. I&#39;m using DAZ Studio 4.9, and my video card is GTX 570M (1.5GB) with the latest driver installed.</p>

<p>When I render just one Genesis 3 it renders fine in Iray. But as soon as I add a second figure or add more scene elements and try to render, it stops using my GPU and uses the CPU 100%. This is the information from the DAZ log:</p>

      <description><![CDATA[<p>So, I am still ok with the render, I dont find it dramatic, but i&#39;m pretty sure it is not normal &nbsp;(kinda noobish user here, but not completely clueless).</p>

<p>The image attached took about 2h30 to render and it is pretty&nbsp;grainy, especially<span>&nbsp;in the shaded areas. I can&#39;t figure out what to tweek. Is it a rendering problem or a lighting problem?</span></p>

      <description><![CDATA[<p>I was looking for content in the content library tab (not smart content) when the left pane, the one with the layered directoy, vanished.&nbsp; Now I have a great big nothing when I am on content Library tab.&nbsp; I have already reset to factory original but it didn&#39;t fix it.&nbsp; I was trying to move the diider line over just a little so I could get a better look at the selections when it vanished.&nbsp; BTW, now, anytime I right click in this tab, dazx crashes.&nbsp; Anyway to restore the panel?&nbsp; screen shot attached.</p>

<p>I&#39;m trying to apply&nbsp;M4 textures to the Genesis 2 Male Character. I have Daz Studio, but don&#39;t really use it. I&#39;m a Poser person, it&#39;s what I&#39;m used to.</p>

<p>I&#39;ve got Poser Pro 2014, all up to date. But I can&#39;t seem to find any real instruction on how to use the&nbsp;<span>Michael 4 for Genesis 2 Male product to apply M4 textures. I&#39;ve loaded a G2 male into my scene, I&#39;ve gone into the Materials library and applied the &quot;Set Michael 4 UV&quot; material, which makes the current G2 texture go all wonky, as expected. But applying M4 textures, either via a saved full material set, or though a normal Poser pz2 texture &quot;pose&quot;, nothing gets applied.</span></p>

<p><span>What step(s) am I missing?</span></p>

      <description><![CDATA[<p>I am looking at the Space Slayer bundle which includes the FW&nbsp;&nbsp;Alex HD and FWSA Saffron HD characters. The bundle page says the compatible figures are G3f &amp; G3M; however the pages for Alex and Saffron say M7 &amp; V7 respectively are required products. I only have the base G3F &amp; G3M models. Will Alex and Saffron&nbsp;work without M7/V7? I am using Daz 4.9 pro 64 bit</p>
