      <description><![CDATA[<p>I&#39;ve doing a lot of fantasy themed renders latley with tons of orcs and elves and I&#39;m running into a recuring issue: Whenever I have pointed ears hair tends to weirdly clum behind the ears, looking really stupid. Like, the pointed ears aren&#39;t simply pocking through the hair, but the hair is morphing out behind the ears. My work around has been mostly using short hair, but is there a better way to deal with this?</p>

      <description><![CDATA[<p>Hello - I have a scene where I have 2 Genesis 3 females behind the window of a house. The characters have hair but the hair is not showing up from the other side of the window (screen shot attached) The camera inside the house confirms they have hair... and if I pull them forward through the window the hair is there but the hair &#39;disapears&#39; while they are behind the window... is there something I need to do to have the hair show through the window? Thanks!</p>

      <description><![CDATA[<p>This is something thats been bothering me for awhile and maybe its something I&#39;m doing wrong..</p>

<p>I render completely with Iray and my scenes never go over my GPU&#39;s memory limit. I also have renders set to use my GPUs only, so in the case that they do go over memory limit DS&nbsp;will actually crash, which has happened on rare occasion, but I&#39;m Ok with that because I never want to go to CPU for rendering as its just too slow.</p>

<p>So I was wondering why do certain renders&nbsp;actually slow down my PC and actually heavily utilize&nbsp;my CPU as well as my GPUs for some part of the rendering process whereas most renders will not?</p>

<p>For example, rendering a scene with&nbsp;the <a rel="nofollow" href="https://www.daz3d.com/streaming-hair-for-genesis-3-female-s">Streaming Hair</a> will completely slow down my computer, wheareas I can understand the render may take longer since there are individual strands of hair, I would assume it would still utilize only my GPUs,&nbsp;but thats not that case. It heavily uses my CPU as well. &nbsp;And again, I can confirm that these scenes are only around 4GB and well under the 6GB limit of my GPUs.</p>

<p>So what&#39;s going on, why does certain type of geometry&nbsp;hit my CPU and not do all the rendering exclusively with the GPUs?</p>

      <description><![CDATA[<p>Am I correct in understanding that you can only have 1 <em><strong>light set</strong></em> active at a time in a scene and that they do not &quot;stack&quot;?<br />
So If I load a LIGHTS preset, it adds the bundled lights for that scene and the individual light sources&nbsp;populate the Scene tab.</p>

<p>Adding ANOTHER light set from a different environment/product will REPLACE the previous set and not add- yet another LAYER of lightning for that scene....</p>

<p>Is there a way to combine light sets (no sky domes, just the suns and lights....) into a &nbsp;scene or even double the light without editing fstop, exposure, gamma etc....?</p>

      <description><![CDATA[<p>I have found that lately the Genesis 3 Female figure takes WAY longer than Genesis, G2F and G3M. It takes about 1 minute to load as opposed to the 10 seconds I am used to with the other figures which all have similar amount of morphs and characters installed.&nbsp;I have checked the log after loading G3F into the scene and there is no indication of any errors or bottlenecks. No missing files or anything liek that. Any theories?</p>

      <description><![CDATA[<p>Trying some glsl renderings for toons. Can&#39;t find any way to set the shadow map size. Default is way too small. Can&#39;t find anything with the search tool. Anyone please ?</p>

<p>Also it seems that in glsl rendering the deep shadow map doesn&#39;t respond to color and intensity. It always does a black 100% shadow. Is it a bug ?</p>

      <description><![CDATA[<p>Okay. I&#39;ve been working on this outfit for DAZ3D and Poser. I&#39;ve managed to get everything modeled. I worked around issues of rigidity, coloring, texturing, and more. And I&#39;m so close to completion that I can taste it. And now...I&#39;ve wound up with another problem. &gt;:[</p>

<p>I&#39;ve used DAZ3D&#39;s transfer utility to rig and weight map everything. And for the most part, it worked out perfectly. Except for one serious glitch.</p>

<p>There&#39;s a problem in the crotch area that shows up whenever I most the thighs. I&#39;m including imagery of the affected area; an image of how it looks in the default pose, an image of the transfer utility settings I&#39;m using, and one of the distortion that I&#39;m getting. So if anybody can offer any suggestions on what I can do about this mess, I&#39;d really appreciate it.</p>

<p>(Also, I hope me showing images focusing on the crotch area doesn&#39;t qualify as obscene content. This is just where I&#39;m having the problem and nothing I do seems to help.) :(</p>

      <description><![CDATA[<p>I&#39;m at my wit&#39;s end again! I had finally gotten clothing to work the way I expected it to, and then make some minor changes and textures, and now i get this weird thing...</p>

<p>So I import the FBX and get this warning :</p>

<p><span><strong>Moderator edit&nbsp;</strong>&nbsp;&nbsp; Image removed due to nudity</span></p>

<p>I&#39;ve had this warning before, and I ignored it with fine results. I&#39;ve googled it and I can&#39;t find anything about it at all... I&#39;ve also tried exporting the FBX with different UP axis and different versions of FBX (2011, 2012, 2013 Ascii)</p>

<p>So I ignore the warning and try to transfer the clothes to the body :</p>

<p>Clothes don&#39;t fit correctly, but more concering is WHY WON&#39;T IT RIG THE ARMS AND LEGS?!?!?!?!</p>

<p>This is like my 50th iteration of this character and outfit, I&#39;ve never had this problem before. I don&#39;t know why, or what is causing it, or even what to google to solve it.</p>

<p>I wish Daz Staff would tell us exactly what causes this error, instead of letting the forums just guess and barely get by.</p>

<p>Anyone know whats up with this? I&#39;ve tried it with an FBX and an OBJ and get the same results.</p>

      <description><![CDATA[<p><span>[attachments....adding anatomy type stuff to models] </span>In this case the Daz3 dragon, and the item in question is a tailhole most cuase someone asked me to do a image of a dragons butt and you never know how useful knowing how to add handmade stuff to models is going to be.</p>

<p>Now I have made the item but I don&#39;t know how to make it attach to the model like the gens do to the human models, IE how they auto hide the part they are resting on to remove clipping</p>

      <description><![CDATA[<p>Grrr! I think I&#39;m having more trouble working with DAZ 4.9 than any other product since I started in the mid-2000&#39;s. I&#39;ve been working on a seen for a few days, and all of a sudden it started lagging. I haven&#39;t added any new objects, only moving lights and modifing poses. The redraw time moving around the scene makes it impossible to work with. Often, I don&#39;t even see textures. Same thing happens with a new scene. The one thing I have noticed is an icon on the main screen that looks like a box cut diagonally. On the top is a + and on the bottom is a -. The icon is next to the display the drawing style icon. I&#39;ve also noticed a &quot;iray verbose&quot; message on the bottom of the screen. How do I get rid of this bloody thing?</p>

<p>It happened right after I transfered all the morphs from Genesis 3F/M and Genesis 2F/M shapes via GenX Morph Transfer.</p>

<p>What I did was I transfered all morphs via Selected Morphs (with properties) and selected morphs (with defaults)</p>

<p>Is there an easy hotfix or should I remove all imported morphs via GenX or reinstall Genesis?</p>

      <description><![CDATA[I am wondering if its possible to create a MCM for the eyes side by side dial. For my character I need to scale down the eyes a little for this. But different depending which side you go.

I think the side by side dial controls the eye rotation for both eyes. Are these independent morphs I can link my mcm too? What are there names?

I did mcm for eyes close. That works well.

      <description><![CDATA[<p>Hi, everyone,</p>

<p>I want to use an old Poser file (a big ugly bug)&nbsp;that is not seperated in to runtimes, i.e, no folders for materials, objects, etc. &nbsp;It&#39;s a merely folder that has the object listed as <strong>Poser Scene</strong> in the form of the ubiquitous Poser icon (which no doubt is the object itself)along&nbsp;with two map&nbsp;jpegs. &nbsp;If you click on the <strong>Poser Scene</strong> icon, it will open in Poser with maps automatically applied. &nbsp;Pretty amazing in itself, but not what I want to do.&nbsp; I want to open it in Daz Studio, but the folder is not separated into file folders. &nbsp;I can put the maps in Materials/Textures&nbsp;but the Poser Scene file won&#39;t work if I put it in Geometries because it remains a <strong>Poser Scene</strong>. &nbsp;Daz can&#39;t see it because it&#39;s inside the <strong>Poser Scene</strong>; it&#39;s like a Poser Zip file that only Poser can open, unlike Studio which has a whole bunch of file folder with the object geometry separated into a runtime library.</p>

<p>I tried looking for the file in Poser thinking it migh have opened in the Poser library as an object/character/geometries&nbsp;folder but I can&#39;t find it. &nbsp;Poser is very confusing to a Studio user. &nbsp;It has content files which is what it comes with (I have 9 to 11) but everything else is in<strong> My Library,</strong> wherin I cannot find the bug anywhere, mainly because Daz Studio can&#39;t see it if it&#39;s not formatted for it to see.</p>

<p>I hope this is making sense to someone. &nbsp;My&nbsp;big question is - is it possible to open/convert the <strong>Poser Scene</strong> file into a Daz file, object, character, geometry whatever? &nbsp;Right now you can&#39;t see anything because it only appears as a Poser Scene file. &nbsp;Obviously, the geometry/object/character is in there. &nbsp;How do I get it out to put into Daz Studio, if it&#39;s even possible at all?</p>

      <description><![CDATA[<p>I&#39;ve got two characters in a scene with duplicated lighting rigs aimed at them (so the light should be the same for both), and both have had the Iray Uber Base applied. One looks lifelike, but the other looks &quot;flat,&quot; like a mannequin that&#39;s been dipped in paint. I want to find out what the difference is. I&#39;ve been through the list of Surfaces Editor parameters several times, and so far I haven&#39;t found any difference between the two.</p>

<p>Is there a better, faster way to compare two surfaces other than scrolling down the Surfaces Editor and scribbling down the state of each setting and selected map?</p>

<p>It comes with lights, and I thought this would be a good way for me to light a scene quickly, assumed it was more of plug and play. However, I had to adjust the f stop and iso to be able to see the character, and its still dark. And the dome itself is showing gray. Is there a good 4.9 tutorial for these skydomes and what settings you need to change? I am a noob, and this really confuses me..</p>

      <description><![CDATA[<p>Hi.&nbsp; I&#39;ve used FaceGen in the past - but it&#39;s been over a year or two so rusty on the procedure, and not sure if I had DAZ Install Manager last time I&#39;d gone through the process.&nbsp; FaceGen exporter can&#39;t find my Genesis.dsf file which it needs.&nbsp; I think I&#39;d set things up so most of my content would be installed on an external drive - though looking at DIM, the main program (DAZ Studio, and Carrara 8.5Pro) are on my D Drive - and while I found my Genesis.duf I can&#39;t find my .dsf file.&nbsp;</p>

<p>Any suggestions?&nbsp; Thanks.</p>

      <description><![CDATA[<p>I&#39;m seriously dissapointed after opening a file I was working on for several days, only to discover that the several hours work I had put into reworking the figure today was gone. As was the entire figure except for the beard I had but on him. I even checked the png that had been created when I saved the file, and sure enough, the figure was there along with the beard. What gives? This is really bumming me out, and hopefully someone can help me understand how to go about getting the figure I worked so hard o create back. Anyone?</p>

      <description><![CDATA[<p>Hello folks, I may need your insight once more.</p>

<p>I like the Genesis 3 figure, but I am very disapointed with the hands.&nbsp;</p>

<p>- Whenever I apply a specific Genesis 3 Hand Posing product the hands never pose like the product picture suggests. And I&#39;ve tried with 2 different products.</p>

<p>- The fingers seem to have a really absurd bending up limit, like if the figure has athrosis, and I have to uncheck the limits for each phalange to try to have a pose I want (and still be anatomicaly possible) but as I do that the fingers turn to the left like in the picture.&nbsp;</p>

<p>What might be wrong with my Genesis 3 figure?</p>

      <description><![CDATA[<p>I only want to hide them in the display viewport but hiding them always deactivate them also. The only other option to hide only hides them from the list but nothing else. But there is not option to hide them in the viewport and have them active, as is normal in other 3d programs. Where is that funtion, if it exists?</p>

      <description><![CDATA[<p>Hello!&nbsp;</p>

<p>I have a problem and i don&#39;t find the way to solve it by myself.</p>

<p>If i apply youth morph on a G3F model and i save it, after reopen the face changes. I went through every slider on the properties tab to see what properties are changed, but there is everything seems the same as on the original but the face chages anyway.&nbsp;I&nbsp;have duplicate formula error on dr smile dr laugh and dr exited morphs but if i delete them the face still changes. I tried to reinstall the youth morphs but it did&#39;t helped. If someone have som ideas what went wrong, please share them with me. Thank you!</p>
