      <description><![CDATA[<p>Is there a way to build a character in DAZ Studio and then export it, fully rigged and textured into another program like 3DS Max. &nbsp;I know <span><span>you can do do some of this in&nbsp;</span></span><span>Alembic Exporter with objects and definitely with characters (although the Texture ID&#39;s need to be reassigned once you move it in there), but I don&#39;t think it transfers the rigging ability. &nbsp;</span></p>

      <description><![CDATA[<p>Hi guys, I&#39;ve been playing around with daz and import 3d models from turbosquid (just playing around)</p>

<p>and what I&#39;ve come up with a strange glitch. I imported a free model car (OBJ) and its not coming up. Its invisible.</p>

<p>It knows its there but I can&#39;t see it. Has anyone had this issue before? If so, is it fixible or is it the model?</p>

      <description><![CDATA[<p>Hello there,</p>

<p>I started two weeks ago with DAZ3D and Blender. I would like to ask for help with storing asset to library. I spend two days for looking for solution but without big result.</p>

<p>I created collar (in picture) in blender. It has two parts, one is collar and second padlock. I already moved joins of padlock, so it rotate correctly in collar holes for padlock, but my problem is how to export these two objects to one prop/asset/product.</p>

<p>Save as support asset always save only one object. If i try to save it as scene subset it save big part of figure (genesis 3) so file is 3MB big. I also tried to use rigging and it create bone, but it works also only for one object.</p>

<p>I expect&nbsp;I missing someting, something very easy.....</p>

      <description><![CDATA[<p>I just got Interiors Corridors and I can&#39;t get the poses to work in Poser 11 on a Mac. It&#39;s an older product, so maybe there are incompatibilities with python. Or maybe I&#39;m just doing something stupid.</p>

<p>I can load pieces and the lights work, but neither the movement poses nor the mat poses seem to do anything.</p>

      <description><![CDATA[<p>Hey all, I just got a new computer and can, for the first time, really start using iray to pull renders. Because they used to take HOURS to pull I never learned too much about iRay. I know that with it you don&#39;t use sky domes and that the sky is taken care of in the Enviroment windo and within the Enviroment Map little slider. Iray defaults loads a fairly nice sky with cloads and mountains, but where do I go about getting different skys? Are there products in the Daz store?</p>

<p>To be clear I&#39;m looking just for skys, things to have in the background of outdoor renders. Especially a nice urban one that could have a city scape in the background.</p>

      <description><![CDATA[<p>I have recently purchased Haxagon to create different morphs and tweak models used in Daz. When I import the object,&nbsp; the geometry becomes distorted (both in Daz AND in hexagon). When I then try to send the morph back in to Daz3D, it only partially works - there are clear differences in the Daz version of the morph. I know that there are so many things to learn when using this software, but it just seems very strange that it would mostly work but have these little imperfections.</p>

      <description><![CDATA[<p>1. I just use ERC Freeze because that&#39;s what the manual says to do - but what does Studio actually do, what does ERC even stand for?</p>

<p>2. When editing dials I amde from custom morphs, they load into the parameters tab. I edited the dial properties to move it to a custom category ( it is now at the root level alongside &quot;Actor&quot; and &quot;Morphs&quot;), but how do I make it sit with the other shape morphs?</p>

      <description><![CDATA[<p>Hey, I used the Jockey Set &amp; converted with the Uber iRay converter but it seems the silks are two layers. A think outer layer and an inner layer. Trouble is rather than the traditional horse racing silks showing their pattern I am getting only color from the glossiness channel.</p>

<p>You can ignore the hair poke through on the DAZ Horse 2 and the Jockey as I know how to fix that. I am trying to set up a horse race render on a track.</p>

<p>How to fix to simulate real silks in iRay &nbsp;please?</p>

      <description><![CDATA[<p>So DAZ Studio insisted on installing user files in appData/Roaming and there was nothing I could do to force it to save elsewhere.</p>

<p>Now I&#39;m stuck with a new install profile and my entire setup is busted. For example all morphs are gone, probably overwritten in AppData/Roaming...</p>

<p>I&#39;m now reworking my libraries, but alas, there are constant problems with reference files.</p>

<p>Since I&#39;m starting from scratch, I unloaded all the base directories and set up everything new. All custom base library folders - .</p>

<h2><strong>QUESTION 1:</strong></h2>

<p>If I install starter essentials in a custom base library, why does it load everything just fine but throws an error like this - excerpts from log file:</p>

<p>are there certain things I <em><strong>must not ever</strong></em> install into a custom directory? I have this suspiction that some stuff <em><strong>must absolutely</strong></em>&nbsp;be on sytem drive or at least in the install directory alongside the Studio.exe</p>

      <description><![CDATA[<p>I recently had to uninstall DAZ Studio and when I went to reinstall it I decided I had way to many things installed. I tried to install everything I thought would work for DAZ, just Genesis 3, and Iray to simplify things. When I started up DAZ most of it worked fine and faster than before, but my Emissive button under the surfaces tab is missing and I can&#39;t seem to figure out what I need to reinstall to get that to work again. Can some one tell me which Item the Emissive button is installed with?</p>

I want it to just cover a bed, but I cannot get out the wrinkles or have the sides go dow at 90 degree angles from the top of the bed. I could probably do it in Poser&#39;s cloth room, but I want to do it in DAZ studio 8.xx. Can someone share settings for this that might work.       <description><![CDATA[<p>I&#39;m creating a room with mclean&#39;s&nbsp;Room Creator Version 2 and Room Creator Exteriors, and am rendering with iray. Both before and after converting the outside walls surfaces&nbsp;to iray, the test renders I&#39;ve done shows weird shadows and no matter what I do, I can&#39;t get rid of them. Also, there are no textures attached to the exterior side of the wall.</p>

<p>I&nbsp;buy and use content; I&#39;m not a content creator so I don&#39;t know how to fix the problem. Any and all help is greatly appreciated.</p>

      <description><![CDATA[<p>Wondering if there&#39;s a way to stack the different panes on top of each other.</p>

<p>Right now, if I click an item&nbsp;in the scene tab, all the tabs collapse and the SCENE tab eats up the entire vertical column. If I select a parameter, the Scene tab folds up and the entire vertical strip becomes...parameters. Wondering if there&#39;s a way to get them to occupy a set abount of vertical space and see the SCENE tab AND the PARAMETERS tab at the same time.</p>

<p>What&#39;s the problem? I find myself changing parameters for the wrong object in a scene because it was the last thing I adjusted. Sometimes I click on an object and the right thing seems to highlight, like a hand, but on the parameters tab, it&#39;s only a finger or part of an figure that&#39;s sitting BEHIND what I&#39;m trying to work on. In other words, I almost always want to see <em>what I&#39;m working on</em> in the scene tab no matter what else the interface is doing. I&#39;d rather not undock anything or float windows if it can be avoided.</p>

      <description><![CDATA[<p>I think I screwed up, and I doubt I can fix this, but I wanted to ask.<br />
<br />
I was trying to make my file structure make sense, and I realized that I had a ton of duplicate content in a folder in Daz3d/My Library/Content that was duplicating things at Daz3d/My Library. &nbsp;So I moved everything from&nbsp;&nbsp;Daz3d/My Library/Content up one level&nbsp;to&nbsp;Daz3d/My Library. &nbsp;Now I&#39;m in a position where none of my Presets or Scene Subsets will load the associated textures on the models. &nbsp;<br />
<br />
I&#39;m wondering if there&#39;s a way to change my Content Directories so that those files can be found, or if those are static links, and not relative paths. &nbsp;</p>

      <description><![CDATA[<p>Okay. I&#39;ve tried out shader baker a few times, so I know the basics of it. I know that I can apply a shader to a given 3d model in DAZ Studio and use shader baker to create a png diffuse map based on that shader. However, there are a couple issues that I haven&#39;t worked out. First of all, I only get one image in the bake. And I&#39;m guessing that its supposed to be some kind of composite image. So what I want to know is if there is any way to create the same maps used in a standard image (diffuse, bump, displacement, etc). Do I have to run them one at a time, or what?</p>

      <description><![CDATA[<p>I see that the&nbsp;default&nbsp;noise filter&nbsp;doesn&#39;t work .. in the log it just says &quot;Degraining filter cannot be combined with black pixel filter&quot;. Actually I&#39;m having good results with manual oversampling and/or using GIMP filters in post-processing.&nbsp;But I&#39;m just wondering if we can have any working filter directly inside iray.</p>

I couldn&#39;t see a way to do it, however. Is there something undocumented that might allow this? Or does it have to be done in post?&nbsp;</p>

<p>Simple enough. I&#39;m looking to make a spotlight. Just like the promo. That&#39;s all. A spotlight.</p>

<p>Read the Manual.....Created the lights, selected a material, worked the settings and nothing renders. Scene looks normal, no lights.</p>

<p>Not even a little light spot where the lights are.</p>

<p>I also searched and found a thread saying this is broken for iray, but that might be their previous light product.</p>

<p>This was JUST on sale a few weeks ago, so I can&#39;t see it being a problem with iray.</p>

<p>Any help is appreciated.</p>

      <description><![CDATA[<p>I don&#39;t know what to call this problem. I used to get it on my iMac and now it&#39;s happening on my new computer as well. Daz Studio 4.9 will be working just fine, then suddenly large portions of my window are taken over by multicolored pixels and ther will be distortion appearing at random around the window. Everything still works, though there&#39;s occasional lag, and it renders just fine.&nbsp;I thought this was caused by&nbsp;a problem with my old iMac, but since it&#39;s followed me onto a new computer&nbsp;I don&#39;t know what to think. Has anyone had anything like this happen while working in Daz Studio?</p>

      <description><![CDATA[<p>I&#39;ve been using DAZ for a few months. I downloaded some 3rd party hair and have been successfully using it on my G3F-based figures.</p>

<p>2 Days ago I finally caught on to the ability to categorize my assets. So I did a lot of categorizing, including categorizing that 3rd party hair.</p>

<p>Now when I open my scenes that use that hair, the hair shows up as a gray block, which I am told indicates that DAZ cannot find that asset.</p>

<p>I&rsquo;ve been fixing this by re-loading the hair. And also copy and pasting each of the hair settings from the gray block version to the reloaded version. Then deleting the gray block version. But I have lots of scenes using this hair, and would prefer not to do this fix for every scene.</p>

<p>Near as I can tell, the hair has not actually changed location. It still appears in, and can be loaded from, the same original place in the &ldquo;Content Library&rdquo; tab it has always been.</p>

<p>So far this hair is the only asset that has been gray blocked since my categorization spree. But I worry there may be other assets now gray blocked that I have not yet discovered.</p>

<p>Your advice will be appreciated.</p>

      <description><![CDATA[<p>I am a noob to Daz Studio Pro, and am starting to work my way through a couple of learn-how-to-use-Daz-Studio tutorial books, both of which make extensive use of the <em>My Stuff</em> tab (in one book) or <em>Smart Content</em> tab (in the other), but when I go to my <em>Actors, Wardrobe &amp; Props</em> activity tab to follow that part of the tutorial, the only tabs I see on the left are <em>Shaping</em>, and <em>Surfaces (Color)</em>,&nbsp; The <em>Smart Content</em> tab is missing altogether.&nbsp; Is something borked?&nbsp; oO</p>

      <description><![CDATA[<p>Today&#39;s battle. I want to merge an object into a &nbsp;scene and have it land in a&nbsp;particular place.</p>

<p>IMPOSSIBLE since it merges to its saved position, relative to 0.0.0.</p>

<p>Okay. If I have a large scene, let&#39;s say Stonemason&#39;s City...how do I open/merge a character into the scene at the LOCATION of my choosing?</p>

<p>We can&#39;t all be all be starting at Zero and then moving the figure across the entire city/landscape, can we?</p>

<p>When I pick a reference point, let&#39;s say an object already in the scene. I have copied and pasted its coordinates between the two objects to get them together.</p>

<p>Like <em>put item B in the same place as item A</em>.</p>

<p>BUT when I pick a &nbsp;landmark or feature in the landscape, I am getting a RELATIVE position, not a set of cooordinates that object B can use.</p>

<p>Each object has it&#39;s own 0.0.0.</p>

<p>I need GPS or longitude and Latitude coordinates to mark off the map. lol</p>

<p>I have the position helper tool and it sucks. It&#39;s radius is too small for larger set pieces and I find it cumbersome at best.</p>

<p>There must be a way to bring an object to the location of a camera.</p>

<p>------------------------------------</p>

<p>I did several things...</p>

<p>1) Went to the place that I want to get my object in the scene.&nbsp;</p>

<p>2) Created a camera (called &quot;CAM_PlaceObjectsHere&quot;)</p>

<p>3) Copied its location parameter values and pasted them to the object. (it moved closer...)</p>

<p>4) Changed the default NUDGE amount in the xtran/ytraz/ztran to something like 25 to move objects further with the mouse than normal.</p>

<p>5) Moved that object to where I needed it. Copied down it&#39;s locational numbers.</p>

<p>6) Merge second object into scene and used Parameter settings from 5) to place object B next to A.</p>

<p>-----------------</p>

<p>There has got to be an easier way.</p>

      <description><![CDATA[<p>Hi there,</p>

<p>I have several content sets with different mapped folders, one is for creating and testing, where I only install the stuff I really need, like Genesis essentials etc.&nbsp;<br />
The problem I have, the Daz connect content is available in all content sets I have set up.&nbsp;<br />
But especially in my testing set I do not want that content because I have morphs etc. there then I do not need and that disturb when creating.&nbsp;<br />
<br />
Is there a way to disable the content from the connect library for certain content sets?&nbsp;<br />
I did not find a away. The directory is always mapped.&nbsp;<br />
<br />
Would be nice if this was possible?<br />
