      <description><![CDATA[<p>I just desided to switch from poser (used poser 8) to Daz Studio 4.9. So, I have used the DIM to install a lot of the content from Daz, but V4.2 doesn&#39;t install. I see the icon for her in the smart content files, but no actual thumbnail. I just have a triangle warning icon.</p>

<p>So, since everything else installed right, I believe the file path is correct. But again, when I go to those files I just see the 2 folders for materials and poses, nothing else. So, how am I supposed to get v4.2 in there with all of her morph ++?</p>

      <description><![CDATA[<p>Hi guys, I need some help.</p>

<p>I bought the 3d enviroment &#39;Suite 2101&#39; and it has the option to add day and night HDRI lighting&nbsp;surrounding in the scene.</p>

<p>But the problem is the lighting is not working and the scene becomes completly dark when rendering.</p>

<p>And when&nbsp;I&nbsp;delete the lighting off the scene having no lights add all, I can see the model.</p>

<p>Can some one please give me a few pointers as to how to add the lighting HDRI options for the scene?</p>

<p>I&#39;ve been having this issue in a long time and I was wondering if there is a way around it.</p>

<p>Some cloth items will look different on the viewport compared to the final render.</p>

<p>Here&#39;s an example with some stockings, but I&#39;m getting similar results with other outfits as well.<br />
It looks to be a perfect fit on the viewport (both in Texture Shaded and NVIDIA Iray mode), but once I try to render it, it&#39;s rather different case.</p>

<p>At first I thought it may be some displacement that creates this problem, but neither the clothing item nor the figure have any displacement.</p>

<p>Any ideas how to fix it?</p>

<p>I&#39;m running into issues with the eybrow region. When I blend two skins, the eyebrows don&#39;t match and it looks funky. I tried removing one set of brows, with brow remover, but if I belnd another browless skin and a skin with brows, the eyebrow area looks too faint.&nbsp;</p>

<p>Does anyone have this product and have suggestions on the eyebrow issue?</p>

      <description><![CDATA[<p>The goal is to get genesis 2 into Unity with 1 material for the whole model.</p>

<p>I know how to use the Texture atlas so the UVs work with one material. The next step I want to do is to have only 1 material for the whole model and use the created texture atlas UV.</p>

<p>I know how to assign one material to all surfaces in Blender, the problem with that is blender doesn&#39;t work well with FBX and the character bones come out wrong and come out equally distorted in Unity when exporting from Daz&gt;Blender&gt;Unity. Exporting FBX directly from Daz&gt;Unity works fine but I also have to deal with 12+ materials which means more draw calls. I have managed to work with the blender export in Substance painter which doesn&#39;t use model bones just fine to test if using one material works.</p>

<p>I do own Hexagon and Carrara, but I&#39;ve never really bother to learn or use it but if there is a way that I can easily assign all surfaces to one material in either program and bring it back to daz to export to unity that would be great to get use of one of those programs.</p>

<p>In Summary, how do I merge/assign all surfaces into one surface using one material with Hexagon or carrera(if it is even possible) or some other method.</p>

      <description><![CDATA[<p>About a week ago I noticed that Daz does not use my GPU (1070) for rendering and defaults to the CPU. I know this happens when the GPU does not have enough VRAM to render the scene but it tells me that I only have about 6mb of VRAM, which makes no sense since that video card should have around 4 gigs. Even a completely empty scene uses about 160mb of VRAM and still defaults to CPU. I have the latest drivers and CUDA version installed. The log file simply says that its using the CPU for rendering. Daz studio is detecting the card however, since it shows up in the render settings. So it seems like for some reason it is not able to access the VRAM from the GPU. Does anyone know what might be causing this? I have windows 10 if that matters.</p>

      <description><![CDATA[<p>I have tried to make props of figures with little luck. Always seems to be missing file errors or if I get the figure to load as a prop it has lost all the age morphs and cloths in the process making it useless.</p>

<p>Is there a way to load a G3 charactor, apply any morphs and clothing then save that entire set as a prop?&nbsp; No need to pose or change clothing after that. I just need to make some background figures for scenes that don&#39;t involve actual figures and clothing as too many of those chokes my computer.</p>

<p>I have tried a couple of the 2D options but they are poor substitutes for a 3D prop due to lighting, reflections, shadows etc. not working for a flat 2D (basically a plane with an image on it )</p>

<p>Basically I need to make non-posable fully clothed figures I can load and group as needed for a scene whithout running our of computational resources.</p>

<p>Please DO NOT refer me to any 2D alternative.&nbsp; Tried it. works but is pretty bad quality.</p>

      <description><![CDATA[<p>First of all, this is my first post: <strong>Welcome </strong>everyone. I am <strong>not English native</strong> so please be patient with me :)</p>

<p><strong>I am a totally noob in Daz3D</strong>, I started just a month ago, and I&rsquo;ve been messing with it but there&rsquo;s still a long road for me. This is my first time with a 3D tool and I have a huge lack of knowledge and I get lost a lot of times. I am using a lot my intuition to solve and comprehend how things work, (I also use help of tutorials and some friends).</p>

<p>The thing is that I have been <strong>editing a lot of surfaces</strong> in Daz3D. I am applying <strong>Iray </strong>Uber to all the textures and also using Iray shaders (friend recommendation), but I still fight to understand what all the parameters do to the surface. I try very hard, but some of them still resist me.</p>

<p>But from what I understood, when you have to define how the &ldquo;displacement strength&rdquo; or the &ldquo;Glossy Roughness&rdquo; will affect to your surface, you can use an image with black and white tones. The white zones will be the ones where the values of these parameters will be applied, and the black zones will be ignored.</p>

<p>Usually, I found that the&nbsp;images used in surfaces are in .jpg format, which their size may be from few KB to several MB. But I&acute;ve seen other creators that, instead of .jpg, for these kind of parameters (displacement strenght), they use .tiff (example: the last time I have seen a .tiff image&nbsp;in the Displacement Strenght was on &ldquo;Pix-Synx for G3F&rdquo;).</p>

<p>I tried to open one of those&nbsp;4K .tiff image of 96MB that it was being used as a &ldquo;Displacement Strength (Map)&rdquo; and saved it as a .jpg format (same resolution) and also as a .png (png-24) and in both cases the size was just 130KB. And after that, I went back on Daz3D and used the .jpg instead of the .tiff, and the result (in my humble experience) was the same.</p>

<p>So, <strong>the question</strong> is: Why some people are using .tiffs when they are so heavy when they could use .jpg or even .png to achieve the same? What am I missing here? What do you think is the best image format in these situations?</p>

      <description><![CDATA[<p>Hello DAZ People!</p>

<p>I&#39;m hoping someone can answer this technical question to do with hardware.</p>

<p>I want to upgrade my GPU because Iray renders in DAZ are always reverting to CPU only. I only have 1.5GB memory avaialble on my GPU which is plainly just not enough, and it doesn&#39;t even support OptiX acceleration. Without wanting to upgrade the entire computer, I was considering an 8GB Quadro M4000 card, as this is within affordable reach and not the latest and greatest in the Quadro lineup. However, as this uses PCIe 3.0 and my board is only PCIe 2.0, my questions mainly are:</p>

<p>1) What is the likelihood of compatability issues running this card?</p>

<p>2) Will I be able to use the full 8GB of memory on the card for renders?</p>

<p>3) Will I be able to use higher resolution textures without issue?</p>

<p>4) Am I approaching this in the wrong way? Is there another alternative to upgrading my graphics hardware and improving render times?</p>

<p>(My system hardware - ASUS board X58 chipset, Intel 980X hex core CPU, 24GB system RAM, Win7 64bit, Legacy BIOS year 2011)</p>

<p>As one can see, all textures have been merged / baked, but not Eyelashes, Cornea and EyeMoisture.</p>

<p>Can anybody tell me the reason why the texture atlas doesn&#39;t bake these 3?</p>

      <description><![CDATA[Short question: I have few issues after changing my motherboard and GPU. I also have iray preview and rendering problems. It takes very long till iray loads a preview, even with 200 samples and on interactive (at drawing too by the way)! And it crashes in lil bit bigger scenes! Before it didnt at the same scenes and it was much faster though it was "only" one 1080 strix GPU. Now I have 2x 1080 Ti and it is a disaster! I also cant install the actual nvidia driver (installation fail all the time)! So I think the best solution would be to reinstall my windows 10 pro. But I'm not sure if all my saved programms and clothed characters etc. will be usable after that. I saved them on an extern hdd and also the entire "my library" folder. But it would be a disaster if many hundreds of hours work would be for nothing. So will daz studio recognize my old project (.duf) files after a complete windows reinstallation? Or is there a special save function in daz studio for that which I should use before I do that???]]></description>

      <description><![CDATA[<p>Okay, I&#39;ve run into a problem.&nbsp; I&#39;ve opened up Content Library and looked under V to find the Victoria character, and I see Victoria 42 Base listed there, when I click on that, I see a bunch of squares, each of them having a picture-frame symbol containing a triangle with an exclamation point in it.&nbsp; If I click on one of these squares, I get asked if I want to save changes to the current scene (and I tell it No), and then it pops up a dialog box saying Resource Error,&nbsp; Could not open file : File does not exist.</p>

<p>I have seen a lot of other content on my Daz Studio Pro showing that same picture frame with triangle-exclamationpoint symbol.</p>

<p>What is going on here, and what do I do about it?</p>

So I found the Install Manager on the account page and try again. For some reasons Bryce 7 wasnt on the list after i sign in.</p>

      <description><![CDATA[<p>So, when using DS on my work pc at the office, there&#39;s no MYSQL installed so the CMS/ Connect part of the studio doesn&#39;t not function. However, on the upside this completely seems to remove the duplicate id&#39;s error from happening and allows me to use the&nbsp;Batch Render for DAZ Studio 4 script flawlessy. So I am able to leave scenes rendering over the weekend for instance and come back to all of them successfully rendered.&nbsp;<br />
<br />
Now, I cannot seem to eliminate the Duplicte ID&#39;s error on any of my home machines, not even with a fresh install of everything. What I am wondering is this. Let&#39;s say I build the scene and everything is ready to go. Can I turn off the CMS before saving the scene so tha when Batch Render opens it, the duplicate ID&#39;s errors don&#39;t occur because the CMS is not active? How does one intentionally turn it off? I&#39;ve seen it time out and the &quot;Start CMS&quot; button shows up in the connect panel but I am unsure of how to turn it off.</p>

<p>I recently found two pacs of props (dystopian weapons) that I bought some time ago sitting in my PC.&nbsp; Hadn&#39;t realized they were there because they never showed up on the DAZ platform.&nbsp; Upon download, the files went into the runtime folder as they should.&nbsp; I copied .cr2 files (props) and put them into the proper path (DAZLibrary/Props) and still they dont show in Content Library.&nbsp; But if I do a DB search they&#39;re there (see below).&nbsp; Also, there are two blue dots at the lower left corner of the packages which should mean something.&nbsp; Any suggestion to get the prop files (.cr2 and pp2) to appear in Content Library?&nbsp; Thanks in advance.</p>

<p>I am having some problems using the autofit feature in Daz 4.9 Pro. Basically I want to use clothing from older figures (such as V4 and M4) on my Genesis 3 figures and I was under the impression that I could use the autofit feature to do that. However, whenever I try to autofit any clothing on to my figure all I get is Genesis 2 and Genesis 3 as my supported figures.</p>

<p>On other tutorials I&#39;ve seen the user is just able to select V4 or M4 in that dropdown. How come it isn&#39;t appearing for me? Am I missing something? I&#39;m really confused as to why it&#39;s not showing up.</p>

      <description><![CDATA[<p>Hi, I have a problem with rendering images in Iray. everytime when I try to render this scene, the sky is black and all lights are much much darker.</p>

<p>Anyone have a helping advice for me? Btw, there is no window glass or something else. As you may see, there is a veeeeeeeeeery dark sky in the black version of the scene.</p>

      <description><![CDATA[<p>I exported CR2 from DS(both 4.6&amp;4.9 are tried) to poser and exported obj from poser2014. If obj is exported after A6 morph is applied, I get an A6 obj instead of the original G2. The asymmetrical mesh is very obvious around the center of hip. Other body parts also have slightly asymmetrical verticles. Exporting obj directly from DS gives the same result, no matter which version or format is selected.</p>

<p>I opened CR2 to check the morphs and found more problems.&nbsp;Joint control morphs for the left and right side on hip have different verticle numbers.&nbsp;Morphs for breast control move the verticles on teeth forward. It&#39;s a mess everywhere.</p>

<p>I checked the original G2 figure and it&#39;s sysmmetrical. Then I checked A5 based on G1 and there are&nbsp;no such problems. Now I&#39;m quite sure that A6 morph is the issue. Has the vendor recognized the problem and released a patch?</p>

<p>&nbsp;</p>

<p>By&nbsp;&#39;A6 morph&#39;, I mean the basic Aiko 6, since A6 is a full body morph target for Genesis 2. Even if I delete all other body morphs and export a &#39;clean&#39; A6, this problem still exists.</p>

      <description><![CDATA[<p>I model on one machine and render on a couple others almost exclusivly.&nbsp; The machine I model on gets pretty slow with larger scenes so I am thinking of building or buying something new.</p>

<p>When I look for recomendations they are always about rendering.&nbsp; This machine will not be about rendering, but modeling the scenes only.</p>

<p>Some of my questions are:</p>

<p>Do cuda cores play any part in the modeling process?</p>

<p>Does the GPU ram count in modeling only?</p>

<p>If I go for 4, 6 or 8 CPU cores and 32 or 64 GB Ram do I even need a top end GPU in a machine that is NOT intended to render scenes?</p>

<p>What about HDD vs SSD in modeling mode?&nbsp; Other than time to load assets into RAM does it matter?</p>

<p>Thanks for any feedback on this. eBay always has lots of decent refurbished i7 and xeon boxes. I have bought two so far with great success, having to add only the GPU.&nbsp; But want to specifically aim for one best suited for modeling rather than render.</p>

      <description><![CDATA[<p>I use Mudbox to export Genesis 3 and do some sculpting and then import it back in to Daz using morph loader pro. I&#39;ve never really had much of a problem with teeth (although I know it can be a problem if your morph is too extreme) however, I have noticed on my current character that the teeth are being greatly affected. I decided to try exporting the Genesis 3 (base resolution, subdivision 0) into Mudbox, making no changes at all and then importing it back in to Daz and guess what is happening? The teeth moved! This makes morph loader pro useless and, by extension, Mudbox useless for my purposes. Does anyone know what&#39;s going on here? Thanks!</p>

<p>I just purchased PWGhost&nbsp;<a rel="nofollow" href="http://www.daz3d.com/pwghost">http://www.daz3d.com/pwghost</a>&nbsp;and tried to run it in DS 4.8.&nbsp;</p>

<p>I chose the M4 figure, selected it on Surfaces, and clicked on the Preset and on the Phatom preset. It turned my figure into this greeny doll, nothing ghostly.</p>

<p>Can anyone help me out?&nbsp;</p>

<p>I have created a new UV set for G3.</p>

<p>I have loaded it using Figure-&gt;Geometry-&gt;Load UV Set.</p>

<p>Now I can select it in the Surfaces tab:</p>

<p>However, when I export my model as an FBX, it still uses the &quot;Base Female&quot; UV set.</p>

<p>Can anybody tell me how to tell DAZ that I want to use the &quot;newuvs1&quot; UVs?</p>

<p>Or if there is a way to make DAZ permantely use my UVs / bake the UVs, I would also be happy.</p>
