      <description><![CDATA[<p>Hello everybody,</p>

<p>I know I&#39;m not right here at the Hexagon corner, but I didn&#39;t found any place DAT DAZ3d for other modellingprograms - so I have to ask here for the Export from Genesis 3 Female out of DAZ Studio into&nbsp;CINEMA R18. Perhaps somebody could help with my problems:</p>

<p>I have a big problem ... I have z.Zt. Cinema R18 and for the import or import Riptide Pro ... but I would now like to use the Genesis 3 Female (which I have already prepared in the DAZ Studio with another shader etc.) in Cinema for the modeling.<br />
For the export of the OBJ from the DAZ studio gives the settings of the used modeling program (as specified by DS) Cinema 1 unit = 1m, then Scale automatically jumps to 1% (instead of 100%?) And I can not under the individual settings More Write Material Library. I do not know why? See please follow. Screen: Gn3F_OBJ_Cinema.jpg</p>

<p>If I then load the Genesis 3 Female with Riptide Pro in Cinema, then the Genesis 3 Female is either tiny or huge in my working window (depending on how high I enter the import scaling factor in Riptide Pro). I&#39;ve had an import scaling factor of 1000 for the V4 (brown) from Poser. In order to determine if I have the right size of the Genesis 3 Female figure for modeling, I&#39;ve compared my already scaled V4 (in brown) in the modeling Cinema (which I had previously used for modeling in Cinema) and I can see that - no matter what size I use as Riptide scaling factor for the Gn3F OBJ for Cinema - this Gn3F-OBJ can not be the right size ... See below. Screen: Cinema_Import_Gn3F_OBJ.jpg</p>

<p>But how do I get the right import size of the Genesis 3 Female for Cinema? If I am not the right size of the OBJ for Cinema R 18 (modeling program), then the whole is no longer correct and the default size in the DAZ Studio seems not to be correct or dependent on the import scale for Cinema.</p>

<p>What is the possibility to find out? Would be nice if someone would know advice.<br />
Or is perhaps&nbsp;the size of the import in Cinema for the modeling (and subsequent use in the DAZ Studio) completely irrelevant?</p>

      <description><![CDATA[<p>When I click on the parented Z Handgun prop, the hand changes position properly like the pistol loaded but the prop doesn&#39;t load.&nbsp; I can go down to props and load the unparented hand gun but the parented prop under hands does not load.&nbsp; Any ideas?</p>

      <description><![CDATA[<p>Hi, the last guy hijacked my thread, so I am starting a new one.</p>

<p>This is Christina Hair on Hailey. &nbsp;So Genesis 2 Female Hair on a Genesis 2 Female. &nbsp;Yet it doesn&#39;t seem to fit properly.</p>

<p>In the image, if you look closely at the parting, you can actually see the curve of her bald head underneath the hair.</p>

<p>Why is this? &nbsp;What can I do to fix this, as I really like the way Christina hair looks, just at the moment it looks crap.</p>

      <description><![CDATA[<p>Hi guys,</p>

<p>I have 2 scenes with 25 characters each (because 1 scene with 50 characters got very klunky). Each character has 3 pieces of clothing, each one figures themselves so that the collision technology can solve for different body shapes and sizes and different poses.</p>

<p>But it is a real overhead and I need to convert these 50 characters-and-clothing into 3000 characters to populate a large auditorium.</p>

<p>I will be &quot;instancing&quot; the 50 characters to make the 3000. But before that, to cut down the klunk, I&#39;d hoped to convert various iterations and poses of the characters into props and maybe even heavily decimate them [for some scenes, they are distant but for some an individual may be up close - so decimation makes sence for some shots].</p>

<p>The &quot;Joint Editor/Edit/Convert Figure to Prop&quot; appears to only work on one figure at a time. [And there appears to be a bug that if you convert the root figure then the clothing figures are deleted - oh my!].</p>

<p>Does anyone have any hints or tips on how to do multi-conversions and how to schedule the process so the clothes convert before the figure so as to avoid unwanted nakedness?</p>

<p>Many thinks in advance for any suggestions or solutions.</p>

      <description><![CDATA[<p>Draagonstorm&#39;s Pro version has a short video with no real &quot;how to&#39;s&quot; on setting up scenes like the first version of the script, there were many videos on the earlier version on how everything worked, it also had a pane tab called texture animator which I&#39;m assuming this newer version does not?&nbsp;</p>

<p>I&#39;ve got an animated scene where I&#39;m attempting to add an image sequence (from a video already converted to .jpg files) to a surface (TV screen) and I&#39;ve followed the brief steps taken in the short video&nbsp;<span><span id="youtube-yq8aRzi1yBI"><span><a rel="nofollow" href="http://youtube.com/watch?v=yq8aRzi1yBI#t="><img src="http://img.youtube.com/vi/yq8aRzi1yBI/0.jpg" width="640" height="385" alt="image" style="border: 0px;" /></a></span><span></span></span></span> but it only adds the first .jpg which does not animate, I&#39;ve got 2 tabs under Utilities that have in tab 1 (animated textures pro, preview off, preview on, refresh animated properties), and tab 2-resources with (animate textures, getanimated textures) that don&#39;t seem to do anything when double clicked.&nbsp;</p>

<p>The read me has no dedicated .pdf user&#39;s guide and there is only the one video on use that isn&#39;t answering the basics like how to make this script work.&nbsp;</p>

<p>I&#39;m loading my scene, 900 frames, there&#39;s TV set a camera is making a dolly move towards, I have the screen selected in surfaces, I add the 0000.jpg file under image layer editor using the alpha channel and what I get is that single image that stays on the screen for the entire 900 frames, no movement even though the &quot;point to&quot; folder contains the video for the TV sequenced out to 900 frames as well.&nbsp;</p>

<p>Has anyone else figured out how to use this plug in or can point me in the right direction for application? I&#39;ve exhausted the search terms here, google, youtube, etc....a lot on the first plug in, nada on this script.&nbsp;</p>

      <description><![CDATA[<p>Okay. I&#39;ve recently been experimenting with geoshells. I know how to generate them (a few clicks of the mouse button, easy), and I understand that saving geoshells for figures is simple enough (hust Save As &gt; Wearable Present). However, I&#39;ve run into a problem with props.</p>

<p>So say that I&#39;ve created a geoshell for a prop of some sort. How do I save that shell so that it hooks up with the prop? Do I have to save the prop and shell in one package? And if so, how?</p>

      <description><![CDATA[<p>Maybe I&#39;m missing something, but I have not been able to find any information on how to setup a figure with IK that is not a DAZ Genesis figure or parametric. I basically want to have something like an arm with an ik setup so it can be more easily posed. I see that you can do this still with parametric rigging in Figure setup, but I don&#39;t see the option to do it from a weight mapped figure. Does anyone know if it&#39;s possible to set up an IK Chain on a weight mapped figure? Or do you have to set it up parametric first and then convert it to general weightmap or something like that?</p>

      <description><![CDATA[<p>I&#39;ve been building my own spaceship recently by kitbashing other models. &nbsp;One really helpful thing I learned is how to use the Geometry Editor tool in Daz to chop off chunks of things I don&#39;t want. &nbsp;For example, I needed a good looking seat so I took an old SciFi style asset I bought during some special sale back when and hacked away all the geometry except for the seat. &nbsp;I was even able to reassign material zones to get the effect I wanted. &nbsp;Went a step further and exported it to Hexagon and started building up my Bridge set using it. &nbsp;Then it occurred to me...is it legal for me to use geometry someone else created in this way? &nbsp;My instinct is that it seems a bit dodgey. &nbsp;Anyone know how our licensing works in a case like this? &nbsp;</p>

<p>I&#39;m not planning to sell or give away the kitbashed asset. &nbsp;Just use it for creating renders.</p>

      <description><![CDATA[<p>Hi, I&#39;ve only just decided to upgrade from 4.8 to 4.9 so I downloaded and installed via DIM and it all seemed to install ok, but when I start the program all I get is the splash screen appear... it connects to cms but then says &quot;upgrading cms&quot;... well I left it going all night and it never progressed past this. I checked that it wasn&#39;t norton blocking anything and run it as administrator, and installed again but to no avail. I also see that it has deleted 4.8 now so I can&#39;t even revert back. In terms of content all I have are a few things I manually imported into daz, would this cause a problem? I&#39;m using windows 10 (32bit).</p>

<p>Any help would be greatly appreciated.</p>

      <description><![CDATA[<p>I&#39;m trying to save Genesis 3 hands but encountering 2 problems:</p>

<p>1. Saving as Pose preset (activating just Pose controls) doesn&#39;t save individual finger and joint level rotataions/bends/side to sides, only the hand level pose controls.</p>

<p>2. Symmetry doesn&#39;t work for mirroring to opposite site. I&#39;m aware that baking the controls is one option, but then the user loses all editability, so this is not a solution for distribution or future editing</p>

<p>Any assistance would be appreciated.</p>

      <description><![CDATA[<p>I&#39;ve been rendering a lot lately and my renders can take up to ten hours at the most and still come out grainy. I noticed that a few people say it may be due to lighting, but I used preset lighting from HI-Key Studio for Iray and my render still came out grainy. I even used D-Render Studio HIGH from Render Studio Iray. I&#39;m guessing it&#39;s because I&#39;m not using the best driver because my computer isn&#39;t made for this type of thing. If that is true, how can I adjust my settings to get at least&nbsp;a decent nonfuzzy&nbsp;render.&nbsp;If that&#39;s not the problem, then what is?&nbsp;</p>

<p>Below are three renders that I waited hours for. The first I created using HI-Key Studio preset lighting, and D-Render Studio HIGH. The other two I created using basic distant&nbsp;lights, and D-Render Studio High.&nbsp;</p>

      <description><![CDATA[<p>I&#39;m having trouble with Christina Hair. &nbsp;I&#39;m using Hailey, a Genesis 2 Female and the parting looks really bad. &nbsp;</p>

<p>I&#39;ve changed the forehead depth and I&#39;ve also tried changing the volume for the top and it still looks awful.</p>

<p>Please see the attachment - I&#39;m only showing the hairline, as that is where the issue is. &nbsp;</p>

<p>Has anyone else had this issue, and what can I do to make it look better?</p>

      <description><![CDATA[<p>This is a more general question about getting the &quot;hair band&quot; or &quot;visible scalp&quot; in the Viewport.</p>

<p>I purchased the<a rel="nofollow" href="https://www.daz3d.com/kerry-bundle-for-genesis-3-female-s"> Kerry Bundle </a>which included<a rel="nofollow" href="https://www.daz3d.com/rasta-tails-hair-and-oot-hairblending-2-0-for-genesis-3-female-s"> Rasta Tails Hair </a>and the <a rel="nofollow" href="https://www.daz3d.com/kerry-hd-for-victoria-7">Kerry HD </a>character. I figured adding the character, adding the base hair, and Fitting the hair to the character should just work.</p>

<p>But, I get a visible scalp that&#39;s the color of the hair. If I do an Iray render, I get this in my rendered image as well.</p>

<p>In the past when this happened, I usually just played with the Scale of the hair object, and I&#39;d eventually get the scalp part small enough it would go into the characters head and be effectively invisible. But, particularly for this hair style, the corn rows start to look irregular if I try this trick. I tried the adjustments that came with Rasta hair, and I end up with the same problem - the corn rows start looking irregular; I guess I could get there with an hour of work, basically matching the transforms to the head shape.</p>

<p>I&#39;m posting because this is a more general question about the hair/scalp band that is sometimes visible. I saw someone else had this problem, but it was only in their renders and it was because of the way their lights were set up. Mine occurs in the VIEWPORT, so light isn&#39;t an issue (BTW, I have a single Distant light).</p>

What is the best format to buy (FBX, UE4, Unity, Cry or BIP ?)&nbsp;&amp; what is the best process/software to do the job ?</p>

      <description><![CDATA[<p>At some point, my brilliant phlying phingers did something that corrupted the Genesis 2 Female base figure.&nbsp; Instead of the &#39;normal&#39; G2F figure, I have a G2F infused with the morphs for another figure (in this case, &quot;Dionne&quot; from most-digital-creations).</p>

<p>I can &#39;recover&#39; the base figure by zeroing out the figure, or going into the shaping tab and setting all Dionne-morph dials to &#39;0&#39;.</p>

<p>Saving as a character preset doesn&#39;t &quot;replace&quot; the base figure so that next time I select the G2F figure, it&#39;s back to the corrupted figure again.</p>

<p>My thought is that I&#39;ll have to uninstall the Genesis 2 Starter Essentionals, re-download the package and install it again.&nbsp; (Un install from DIM; remove the associated files from my computer; download a fresh package from DAZ; reinstall with DIM).</p>

<p>Any ideas on an &#39;easier&#39; way?</p>

      <description><![CDATA[<p>Hi guys!. I see that we are improving fast! Everyday I receive&nbsp;emails with the last releases that are simply awesme. However... today in my first attempt to animate directly in DAZ (usually I import the character in 3DS Max)&nbsp;is no easy because the lack of tutorials. I spend hours searching in youtube but I couldn&#39;t find something so basic: &quot;How to pick and object in DAZ3D?&quot; or &quot;how to attach an object to hand in DAZ Studios?&quot;.<br />
I need to create a simple scene. A cow is at a teble. The waitress come in. She leave a big glass on the table. Meanwhile the waitress leave the scene the cow take the glass and wait for more.&nbsp;<br />
So the problem is that when I go to the keyframe 20 and parent the glass with the cow hand... the glass is parenting from the keyframe 0.<br />

Do you have any video database with basic activities? After look in youtube where anyone upload unprofessional videos and you send a lot of time watching DAZ videos related to realize at the end that is not what are you looking for.. SO I thought... &quot;Wait! lets look in the DAZ website!&quot; ... it looks great... I went to&nbsp;<a href="http://docs.daz3d.com/doku.php/public/software/dazstudio/4/videos/start" target="_blank" rel="nofollow">http://docs.daz3d.com/doku.php/public/software/dazstudio/4/videos/start</a><br />
but the list is too short. If you look in <strong>Animation</strong> there are only 5 videos! &nbsp;So we have tons of characters, cloths, hairs... but if you want to try something you need to hire someone. I think DAZ should start thinking in to give more free info so future customers will be more interested to buy the amazing stuff you have.<br />

      <description><![CDATA[<p>Ok..so you set IRAY to render to a file...and it takes however long and eventually ends and spits out a file to your chosen location.</p>

<p>Where is the data before that? Is it storing it all in RAM? Is it writing transition png's in a hidden cache/temp folder?</p>

<p>Lux writes the file to the drive and keeps updating..if your computer crashes while rendering, you still have a file to whatver point it got to....is there such a thing with IRAY which is, shall we say...a bit crashy?</p>]]></description>

<p>some say that a 6-core processor would do no change cos 3Delight on DAZ is limited to 4 cores only, is that true?</p>

<p>under &#39;optimal&#39; computer specs - awesome processors and such, how long would a HD (say 1920x1080) render take, assuming render settings are at their default?</p>

      <description><![CDATA[<p>I recently switched from a Dell&nbsp;tower XPS8300 (Intel i7 2.6K) to a Dell&nbsp;tower XPS 8910 (Intel i7 6700). I moved my existing GTX970 card across and was wondering whether it was worth&nbsp;replacing my graphics card&nbsp;with a&nbsp;GTX1070 or 1080. When using DAZ3D, would I notice any significant differences to render times? How would it fare on a&nbsp;1070 or a 1080? A basic iray scene with a single G3 character that currently takes 15 minutes to render for example - what would I see on a 1070 or 1080 ?</p>

<p>Sorry if this seems a stupid question but my knowledge of the different graphics cards is limited.</p>
