      <description><![CDATA[<p>I just wanted to give everyone a heads-up... The latest Windoze Update malicious software removal tool updates might cause some instability. After installing them last night, my rig wouldn&#39;t work, constantly locking and freezing, external drives not being recognized, and tons of program icons being ghosted out including Daz, Carrara, Wordperfect, etc. Windoze wouldn&#39;t recognize those programs as installed. After spending over an hour working and speaking with MS remote support, the PC is finally running again but I&#39;m having to download and reinstall everything. Worst of all, the old external drive that I kept most of my DAZ content on is unrecognizable to Windows (fortunately, I have a backup). MS support had to go back and manually uninstall all of the most recent updates and do a few cleanup activities and now things are stable and running, but be beware... While the latest updates may be necessary to protect you from ransomware and such, they may cause some system instability.&nbsp;</p>

<p>&nbsp;</p>

<p>The irony is defeaning: download updates to protect your system, but then the updates crash your system!!! Having said that, the MS remote support tech was outstanding and seemed to know just what to do, so props to him. They seemed aware that this was an issue so I doubt I was the first. It looked like prior updates were interfering with the newer ones, if that makes any sense, since that&#39;s primarily what he uninstalled. They may have pushed these critical updates out the door without doing enough error checking. So, to the folks who designed these updates without without doing proper QA work on them first (wags his finger at them)...</p>

      <description><![CDATA[<p>I am having more than one issue with Daz Studio 9 this morning. I can&#39;t seem to load any of V4 clothing. I recently purchased the Skadi outfit and although that loads fine I discovered none of the other items I purchased clothing wise for V4 will load. They are there in content library tab but when I click nothing happens, right click and load doesn&#39;t work either. V4 is selected in the scene. The items are in color not greyed out. The other thing is an item I purchased a long time ago called Feathered Wings. I installed them 3 times through DIM and although they are in the path where DIM put them they are not found in studio. &nbsp;Searching pulled up nothing. I finally had to uninstall them (don&#39;t like duplicates) and reinstall them with Daz Connect. They work now but why didn&#39;t they show up as they should have and why did I have to resort to Daz Connect? I don&#39;t want to have to reinstall everything again. I just did that on this new pc. I want this to be streamlined.&nbsp;</p>

<p>*edit Some other content is missing as well. I appreciate any help but maybe it would be better to just reinstall everything with Daz Connect.&nbsp;</p>

<p>In Poser 11, I am using the Morphing Tool to push hair under a hat. For the most part it works okay, but the tool is frequently &quot;jumping around&quot; from one part of the hair mesh to another. I&#39;m working on the front, and then suddenly it leaps to the side and then back to the front. And yes, the quick trip over to the side actually morphs the hair there. Does anyone have experience with this, and can canyone suggest a way to stop this behavior?</p>

      <description><![CDATA[<p>Ran into a little snag here. I&#39;ve got a scene set up with a Genesis 1 figure and some imported 3D objects parented to it as custom props. These are items I made in Blender, not officially-supported, fit-to-figure DAZ props. I&#39;ve parented them appropriately so that when I move the figure the objects move with it - i.e., the items on the forearm move with it when I bend the arm. I considered using the transfer utility but that doesn&#39;t work for my needs as it causes the objects to deform when the figure moves instead of just rotating or moving but keeping their shape. The issue I&#39;m having is in trying to export the scene. When I export it to DAE or FBX, no matter which options I choose, I can&#39;t seem to get the objects to stay parented to the figure in the exported file. Instead they separate from it, return to their original sizes and positions (I scaled and placed them on the figure within DAZ), and do not react when the figure is moved. Is there any way to get the exported file to retain the parenting, size, and positioning of these objects?</p>

I am going to reinstall on a new clean Windows 10 Home build.&nbsp;&nbsp;Do I still need to install the .dsx files??? I think I read that they are no longer needed with the newer Programs. Also can the same zip file be used in both Poser and Daz?</p>

      <description><![CDATA[<p>Hello,</p>

<p>I realized when doing IRay renders that it wasn&#39;t using my Quadro M4000 GPUs, even for smaller scenes. In the log file I am getting this:</p>

<p>2017-05-19 09:02:40.716 WARNING: dzneuraymgr.cpp(307): Iray ERROR - module:category(IRAY:RENDER): &nbsp; 1.0 &nbsp; IRAY &nbsp; rend error: Cannot render: found no usable devices.<br />
2017-05-19 09:02:40.716 Iray Render error: Invalid parameters (NULL pointer).</p>

<p>Other software I use is seeing the Quadro (Maya/Redshift, Realflow). Considering that IRay is made by the same company, this makes no sense. Anyone else encounter this?</p>

      <description><![CDATA[<p>i bought the Ophelia 7&nbsp;Pro&nbsp;bundle and it comes with Absolute Basics Poses and Expressions for Genesis 3 Females. I applied a pose to a Victoria 7 and then I try to apply an expression and nothing happens. I tried Merge into Scene on both the Victoria 7 root/top of the hierarchy, and directly to the Head. The face remains static. I get the same non-change on an Ophelia 7, and even Genisis 3 figures. I looked to see if it added a dial and do not find anything. I have not seen such behaviour before. What should I be doing to get the expressions to apply?</p>

I tried seperating into parts (backdrop, some props, character and other props) and the part that keeps crashing is the attached sceen shot - just a G3 with books, a micropscope and some test tubes - all things that have rendered OK before. This scene has rendered ok before... I&#39;m not sure what the log file is saying. Anyone have any suggestions? I am rendering in Iray. thanks!</p>

<p>I have bought the measure metrics &amp; figure metrics plugin and it has installed without any issues.</p>

<p>The problem goes like this:</p>

<p>Apply &quot;Measure genesis male.DUF&quot; (Works fine!)&nbsp;<br />
Open Figure metric script (Seems to work fine!)</p>

<p>The problem: I can only check the boxes on the following measurements and edit them:&nbsp;<br />
1.height&nbsp;<br />
2.waist circumference&nbsp;<br />
3.chest circumference&nbsp;<br />
4.low hip circumference&nbsp;<br />
5.crotch to knee&nbsp;<br />
6.Thigh circumference</p>

<p>These work but the other ~19 measurements such as &quot;wrist circumference&quot; etc. do not have a check box that i can tick and alter the measurement! I noticed that there are pre sets such as the loomis ergonomic models and &quot;190cm guy&quot; definitely do alter the measurements.</p>

<p>I need to be able to access these measurements by typing in their values! Please tell me im missing something because if i can only edit the 6 values then it has not been worth the very high price i paid!</p>

      <description><![CDATA[<p>Hello everybody! Still learning about all this Daz3d Stuff! Thanx to all you guys! :D</p>

<p>Well... I downloaded a free 1966 Mustang car object... It&#39;s a one piece object. I am trying to get it to look as if the passenger door is open...<br />
I tried using the geometry tool, selecting the polygons that compose the door, one by one, and making them not visible, in order to make the car look like it does not have the passenger door on... Then I had planned on loading another copy of the Mustang object, select the door, polygon by polygon, and not making visible the car and leaving the door visible... Then I&#39;d combine the two objects in order to place&nbsp;the visible door, beside the car, as if the door was opened...</p>

<p>The problem is selecting polygon by polygon take HOURS and if you select the polygon that is not the correct one, and you make it not visible, you have to start over again from the beggining, there is no undo! In the end, I was not successful... Anybody have any idea how this could be done in an easier and more efficient fashion?</p>

      <description><![CDATA[<p>I just noticed yesterday that my characters I created with G3M have this strange distortion.&nbsp; At first I thought there was something wrong with the morph I created with GenX2, but it happens with older morphs I converted months ago.&nbsp; I loaded a fresh G3M, and the distortions appear on it as well.&nbsp; Figure 1 is from the back.&nbsp; Figure 2 is from the front.&nbsp; I did purchase Cthulhiana HD, Classic Toon Duckie for Genesis 3Male. and Skinchangers.&nbsp; I can&#39;t see Cthulhiana HD as the culprit because it&#39;s for G3F, but I thought I would mention it anyways.</p>

      <description><![CDATA[<p>Hello - I am trying to render a character in a scene to combine with some other things in PS, but I keep getting a partial black background even though there is no background in the enviornments tab. In other scenes with no background i would get the checker like image which was transparent when I put it into PS. I am using HDRI lighting in this scene (and still figuring that out) not sure if that would make the background appear dark? &nbsp;any suggestions would be much appreciated. Thanks</p>

      <description><![CDATA[<p>So again, following Esha&#39;s tutorial about creating and setting up JCMs, and I ran into a bit of a problem. I couldn&#39;t figure out why I was getting inconsistent morph values when it should have been at 100% (or zero, or any specific value). Anyway, eventually I found the outdated documentation for creating JCMs <a href="http://docs.daz3d.com/doku.php/public/software/dazstudio/4/userguide/creating_content/assembling/tutorials/creating_joint_controlled_morphs/start" target="_blank" rel="nofollow">http://docs.daz3d.com/doku.php/public/software/dazstudio/4/userguide/creating_content/assembling/tutorials/creating_joint_controlled_morphs/start</a> . I figured out how to link them manually, and found that it had been inputting the wrong maths into the scalar value (when relying on automatic solution). I fixed it, and reproduced the issue.</p>

<p>I&#39;m working with Genesis 2F, and I&#39;ve only noticed the issue on the left thigh Z rotation (of the rig extracted for the model). Has anyone else had this issue? Anyway, it&#39;s sorted, and I&#39;m happy to have learned to hook up the morphs manually, and finally be done with a nagging issue.</p>

<p><strong>Observable Result:</strong></p>

<p>The normal maps yield the worst possible result with shadows completly ignoring the light source.</p>

<p>The bump maps at least give some kind of illusion that the light source has an effect but light strenght is not accurate.</p>

<p>-&gt; The only physical correct light and shadow simulation is achieved by using displacement maps.</p>

<p>- The bump and normal maps are attached as well so you can try this out yourselves.</p>

<p>The maps were created with a filter I created from scratch in Filter Forge.</p>

      <description><![CDATA[<p><span>Hello&nbsp;</span>everybody<span>! Need some help :)&nbsp;</span><br />
<span>The problem is: It seems something wrong with animation. In MD clothmesh fits good on the pose, but then I import clothmesh to maya it doesn&#39;t fits the pose. It looks like the animation is not full.&nbsp;</span><br />
<span>First step I exported from daz bodymesh fbx and bodymesh obj.&nbsp;</span><br />
<span>Second step I use fbx for simulation in MD. Then I exported only clothmesh from MD (so I didn&#39;t export bodymesh from MD).</span><br />
<span>Then I import obj pose from daz to maya and clothmesh from MD and have this problem.&nbsp;</span><br />
<span>I hope my explanation is understandable))))) my friend said to me that MD &#39;eats&#39; a few animation frames and because of this I have this result. But actually I not sure about this reason)</span><br />

Don&#39;t bother downloadling it for Daz Studio as the morphs, hair actor doesn&#39;t show up. only the textures. Used DIM to install it, also installed it manually. It can only be a working item in Poser. </strong></p>

      <description><![CDATA[<p>So it happened once, I played in the said folder <span>[My Daz3D library] </span>and deleted a substantial chunk of it. A total nightmare ensued. I had to reformat my computer to get back Daz studio on point.&nbsp;</p>

<p>How can I back up all my content easily so if something happen I can recover it? Can I simply copy the whole folder on an external hard drive every couple months or so?</p>

<p>I&#39;ve just bought and installed PoserPro 2012 and discovered that the Genesis 2 figures, Sydney and Simon, are included in it.&nbsp; Both of them load perfectly okay, but looking through the Sydney/Simon figures in the Daz3D library, it says those are all for Daz Studio, which I&#39;ve got but never used.&nbsp; If I purchase any G2 figures, will I need the DSON Importer in order to use them in Poser?&nbsp; If so, this leads me to the next question, namely how do I get DSON to work.&nbsp; Whenever I try to install it, I get the following message:</p>

<p>&quot;<em>Install Manager cannot find a required path. The package for &quot;DSON Importer for Poser (Win 64-bit)&quot; requires that the installed path for &quot;Poser Pro 2014, Pro 2012 (64-bit)&quot; be defined. Make sure that a path for this application is present on the &quot;Applications&quot; page of the &quot;Settings&quot; dialog, then try again</em>.&quot;</p>

<p>I&#39;m using the 64-bit version of PPro2012 and a bang-up-to-date 64-bit version of Windows 7, so I don&#39;t really know what&#39;s going on here.&nbsp; Can someone shed some light?</p>
