<p>suddenly, the spotlights aren&#39;t working anymore in iRay. Render setting is &quot;Scene Only&quot;.<br />
Even the emitter (&quot;Render Emitter&quot; = ON&quot;) don&#39;t show the emitter area, if I set to sphere with diameter = 50 to make it visible.<br />
The corresponding Display options are all set to &quot;ON&quot;. Even &quot;Sigle Sided&quot; / &quot;Double Sided&quot; doesn&#39;t matter.</p>

<p>And - the Auto Head Lamp (&quot;When no Scene Lights&quot;) don&#39;t work neighter.</p>

<p>HDRI Sky and Sun Sky work without problems.<br />
Render Mode: CPU-only.</p>

      <description><![CDATA[<p>I&#39;m having a problem when bending the thigh(s) of the Genesis 3 male. When bending either or both thighs there is scooped out deformity that appears in both the upper thigh and the abdomen (see figure). I never noticed this before and it doesn&#39;t occur with my other figures. Any ideas on what I am doing wrong and how to fix this? Thanks in advance for any help.</p>

<p>I updated from 378.78 which was working fine with Daz to Ver. 382.33 (via the GeForce Experience).</p>

<p>Everything seemed fine until I attempted to launch Daz. After the splash screen loaded, it would</p>

<p>get to the &quot;building interface&quot; line then crash to the error seen in the attached pic. I looked through</p>

<p>some threads here and one advised rolling back the driver through Windows 10 which I did.</p>

<p>Now Daz is working. Anyone else having this problem with the new driver?</p>

It was part of a really good workflow for designing custom faces, and then applying pre-designed Expressions. And Yes, I have saved as <strong>Base Mesh</strong> before sending to ZBrush. <p>Is there a way of moving them or changing them so that they all appear in smart content?</p>

<p>I render with 3Delight and use AOA&#39;s Advanced Light Bundle. It&#39;s worked really great for me but I have an issue recently and this might be universal for all lights probably.</p>

<p>As you can see from the attachment, a person is lying on the floor and an arm is shown. You can see that there is some sharp glow at the bottom of the arm while the rest is covered in a shadow. The glow looks really weird of course so how do I get rid of it?</p>

<p>It&#39;s been a while since I&#39;ve tried the Transfer Utility to rig clothing to figures that aren&#39;t the base Genesis 3 figure. The last time I did this was on DAZ 4.7 and all I had to do was select &quot;Current Shape&quot; and &quot;Reverse Source from Target&quot; and it all worked pretty well. But if I do the same on DAZ 4.9, I get large distortions in the geometry after rigging:</p>

<p>1. Load the OBJ modeled for custom shape figure (note the version says &quot;DAZ 4.7 Pro&quot;):</p>

<p>2. Use the Transfer Utility (note that &quot;Item Shape: Current&quot; and &quot;Reverse Source from Target&quot; are selected):</p>

<p>But if I repeat these same steps on DAZ 4.9, the geometry of the rigged figure gets distorted:</p>

<p>The reason for update is that my new nvidia 10-series card&nbsp;doesn&#39;t render scene (while cpu does it). I suppose, that&#39;s because of my old version of daz studio,&nbsp;it is 4.9.2.70 right now (pro edition, 64-bit). But trying to update it, i faced with troubles. If i try updating through studio itself, it writes that &quot;no updates where found&quot;. When i download update&nbsp;through download manager and try to install it, the installation fails. The pic below is a part of log file from download manager. Where is the problem? Maybe, i should deinstall the older version first, or it isn&#39;t required usually?</p>

      <description><![CDATA[<p><em>Adding Textures or UV maps to an imported obj</em></p>

<p>Have a product that will load the object when I add via my content library. There is also a folder of UV Maps and textures.<br />
Daz&#39;s content librarian search shows NOTHING in those folders. Windows explorer sees UV maps and also textures in their named folders. How do I get Daz to see those files and/or load them with the object so it has a &quot;skin&quot;?</p>

<p>This is an old problem, I never solved. Here it is again.....</p>

<p>Some of the invisible files include an...</p>

<p>.xmp</p>

<p>textures folder has plenty of skin details..and decals....</p>

<p>geometry folder has the .obj - that Daz can see and load.....</p>

<p>UV folder has 6 different square blocs of jpeg images</p>

      <description><![CDATA[<p>I have three machines runnign DS. Two are used to render projects.&nbsp; Until recently all was fine then there was an update driver pushed by Nvidia and now one machine seems to crash a lot on rendering. The two render machines use identical GPU each with 4GB ram. The unstable one is a 4-core i7 with 16GB ram which worked fine and was my fastest machine until the update.&nbsp; Second is a dual CPU total 8 core 3.3 GHZ Xeon with 48 GB ram.&nbsp; No hardware chances have been made.&nbsp; I don&#39;t think it is related to GPU Ram capacity because both are identical cards and one renders fine while the other is crashing...even on relativly small renders.</p>

<p>&nbsp;</p>

<p>I found prior version of the suspect DLL and placed a copy of that in /system32 but then DS won&#39;t start stating the version of OpenGL is too old? Restored the problematic .dll and DS now starts again but same issue rendering.</p>

<p>First symptom, when I start a render the whole screen goes black for a moment then proceeds.</p>

<p>Second sympton, I get part way through a render then the whole screen is &quot;grayed out&quot; like a white film and I get the windows crash notice with the below result.&nbsp; This does not happen every time but more times than not.&nbsp; Have tried several scenes with no discernable difference in result.</p>

<p>I have NOT tried 3delight with this because almost all my scenes are using iray textures etc and even if 3DL works it does not solve my problem.</p>

      <description><![CDATA[<p>From time to time I have this issue when building models in Hexagon and importing them into Daz Studio where by I get dark shadows at corners of models that I have cut into sections (see pic)</p>

<p>The issue is in Hexagon I think as I see the shadows in Hex but it is much more pronounced in Daz Studio when I come to render. If I build an object as a single piece by using subdivision I dont get this problem, it only occures if I cut an object.</p>

<p>Lets take this ring as an example. The original ring was a signle piece and there was no issue with it but I needed to have it sectioned as I need to have sections of the ring as individual pieces. In this example I have used both the punch tool for certain sections and for the regular sections I removed sections from the single model and closed the resulting gaps with the close tool.</p>

<p>Anyone know how to avoid this or how to remove the shadows in Daz Studio renders?</p>

<p>(note: in the past I have gotten round this by importing into Poser, using the material tool and completely deconstucted a model and welded it all back together again, this always removed the shadows but its long and laborious and I dont have Poser installed anymore as I went totally over to Studio but there must be a better way?)</p>

      <description><![CDATA[<p>Sometimes I render an image and some object in it looks like it is covered in slime.</p>

<p>I have sometimes been able to fix this problem by going back and applying a material to the slimey object. Then, when I render again, it comes out properly, not covered in slime.</p>

<p>But there are some objects that have no material settings to apply - at least none can be found for them in the content manager. So I&#39;m stuck with the slimy look.</p>

<p>Is there a way to get rid of the slimey look without applying a material to the object?</p>

      <description><![CDATA[<p>So when I dress a figure, they have two gloves and there seems to be no way to select or remove ONE GLOVE. They always select and operate in pairs.</p>

      <description><![CDATA[<p>I had a look at the Lorenzo and Loretta LoRez kit and I think I have some questions. What is the <strong>BASE</strong> figure supposed to be? Do you start with clothes or no clothes? One of the options is to load with &quot;no morphs&quot;... what exactly is that for, I wonder.</p>

<p>I was clicking and clicking on the man (the &quot;T-shirt&quot; icon in the set seems to load the best fully-clothed man, overall) and not much seemed to happen, for instance the feet/shoes seem frozen and I don&#39;t get the hat at all... ditto the hair. Also, it seems to be installed all over the place, under &quot;Poser&quot; but I suppose I could live with that for the time being.</p>

<p>Here is a screen shot and a test render. The screen shot shows the lower part of the figures and I have &quot;clothes&quot; and &quot;feet&quot; and &quot;boots&quot; or &quot;shoes&quot; selected and so on, and I&#39;m using the Surface Tool, but nothing is happening.&nbsp; Also, I would like to try a crowd of figures in a field (like at an open-air concert or a county fair) but when I go high with the camera zoom (like a drone or UAV angle?) I get terrific foreshortening on Lorenzo/Loretta: huge shoulders/arm/wrist and hands on the man, disproportionate body parts on the female figure. I&#39;m sure I can live with this, but should I be using a different &quot;camera setting&quot; of some sort?</p>

<p>If you look carefully at my screen shot you can see I&#39;ve started a bit of postwork in the area of the woman&#39;s skirt... I had to make some of her smaller!</p>

      <description><![CDATA[<p>I&#39;ve built this G3 Male character (Caspar) and, somehow, I&#39;ve accidentally adjusted the&quot;skin texture&quot; of the head &amp; torso as compared to the legs &amp; arms.</p>

<p>I have looked through the various surface adjustments &amp; can&#39;t find any differences in these settings between the torso &amp; arms or legs but the skin sheen is different.</p>

<p>I did add a shell when I added the hair element: Shaved Head for Genesis 3 Male ( <a href="https://www.daz3d.com/shaved-hair-for-genesis-3-male-s" target="_blank" rel="nofollow">https://www.daz3d.com/shaved-hair-for-genesis-3-male-s</a>) but have played around with those settings without any luck.</p>

<p>Any suggestions? I have attached a couple of pictures showing this issue.</p>

      <description><![CDATA[<p>I&#39;ve tried searching for a solution, but I can&#39;t find a really concrete one. D:</p>

<p>Anyways, large collars -and the general collar area- on older items warp whenever I auto-fit them to newer generation figures. Like, the collar will move with the head movement and it just looks weird. I included some screenshots of an example shirt, auto-fit to Karen 7,&nbsp;next to the original, un-auto fitted one to show what I mean.</p>

<p>What should I do? Or am I pretty much up the creek in this department?&nbsp;</p>

      <description><![CDATA[<p>Is anyone aware of a step by step guide to changing your Daz Library to another drive other than the C drive.<br />

There are forums that hint at it but, nothing that is really step by step as in for example: &nbsp;do I next to make a folder, or is it automatically generated? &nbsp;Can I simply copy the folder and change to path to the new location?<br />

What are the specific precedures one needs to take? &nbsp;<br />
<br />
Also this is not concerning an external drive (though that might make no differnce) I simply have a computer with 5 hard drives, and when I got into Daz, I never expected I would eventually have as much Daz content as I have amassed, and it really needs it&#39;s own hard drive at this point.</p>
