      <description><![CDATA[<p>I&#39;m trying to learn how to use Iray and am muddling along so far, but I&#39;ve got a strange problem with the eyes that I can&#39;t figure out. &nbsp;I managed to pretty much get rid of most of the annoying fireflies but now the eyes are weird. &nbsp;Does anyone have any idea why I&#39;m getting this result? &nbsp;Is there some setting that I&#39;m missing?</p>

      <description><![CDATA[<p>So, I&#39;ve been a Studio user for over 12 years. I&#39;ve been stuck on Studio 3 up till now because I can&#39;t get my head around Studio 4 in any way. I tried again today, and I&#39;m still as frustrated as ever. Let me set this up for you...</p>

<p>I DON&#39;T use CMS- as a computer engineer for over 30 years, I don&#39;t trust online databases, and that whole Smart Content Manager takes over too many resources that it never releases after one is finished with Studio. So I never touch it.</p>

<p>I loathe the interface of 4- that was always my biggest gripe. The developers thought it more important to show how cool they could make it look, rather than make it <em>efficient</em>. It&#39;s just plain stupid to make the work window smaller and smaller while making their side panes take up more screen space than everything else. So I have a very tight, concise custom layout. In fact, it&#39;s so tight, I think that&#39;s my problem... I can&#39;t find anything.</p>

<p>Today, I loaded YT Julie- the only Genesis figure I have. it loaded up fine, but when I tried to get the content for it, there&#39;s nothing on the menu: not even the tree structure. I know the directory paths are in there, as the attached screenshot will show, but nothing comes up. More to the point, I can&#39;t find my scenes from Studio 3, either- nothing. Zero, zilch, nada.</p>

<p>So, as a very last attempt to use a newer version of Studio, I&#39;m asking for help. Please don&#39;t tell me to use default setting- I&#39;d rather self-castrate then use the ridiculous interface DAZ created. I have to admit that the new genesis figures and a lot of their content are excellent, but as I have since Studio 4 came out, I will forego them, rather than use the idiotic interface they created. But if someone can point me to a simple tutorial, or tell me how to get to my scenes and content, I will be very grateful</p>

<p>When rotating while viewport is in Iray mode, the scene and figures are gray. So I can see that nothing unwanted is blocking the camera view.</p>

Tried starting a new scene from scratch with no changes, still black. Uninstalled, restarted, and reinstalled, still black.<br />

      <description><![CDATA[<p>Hi, i am haveing a specific problem finding and item I purchased, but it also leads to a bigger problem... I often can&#39;t find items I have purchased.</p>

<p>What I am looking for is something I thought was called &quot;Hacker&#39;s lair&quot; which is like a small basement room, with a computer in it. It was a small scene with only two walls as I recall, and I thought I ran across it the other day. I wanted a small sceen for rendering speed.</p>

<p>Searching &quot;Computer,&quot; &quot;hacker,&quot; &quot;lair,&quot; &quot;den&quot; and &quot;basement&quot; led to no results on the Saz site, my install manager, and my Daz Studio.</p>

<p>Does anyone know what I am referring to and can you point me to the product page?</p>

<p>The bigger problem is that so much stuff is like this... I had a problem locating a thing called a &quot;gamepad&quot; in the description... which is like a joystick, even though I knew I had bought one. Gamepad and joystick didn&#39;t come up in any searches either. &nbsp;There are so many times I buy something for an accessory like a laptop, cell phone, tablet, or tube of lipstick... never to be seen again.</p>

<p>Is there a solution to the indexing problem?</p>

      <description><![CDATA[<p>On m laptop, Daz runs fine. Slow, of course, but fine. On my desktop it usually runs better but the mouse will act up. I can minimize daz and the mouse will work fine, but in Daz it is very erratic. I&#39;ll click and hold the cube or an icon (zoom, or pan), and instead of moving the camera, it will instead move the model. I&#39;m not clicking it, it&#39;s not hightlighted, but the waist will bend, or the head will twist, etc.<br />

Any ideas?</p>

      <description><![CDATA[<p>Okay I really like the billboard product but want to make my own billboards. What I&#39;m stumped by is what qualities the renders should have.</p>

<p>1 render is the character rendered as png saved on transparent background added to diffuse.</p>

<p>2nd render is character silohuette all white with black background &nbsp;which is supposed to mask and hide the square around the first character. It too is png</p>

<p>i seem to be able to do the first image but the second image properties although straight forward looking seem to mask the whole billboard rather than to just punch out the borders. What qualities is this second render supposed to have that I&#39;m missing?</p>

<p>oh I am just pasting these images into the same channels as a premade one so haven&#39;t altered other settings in the billboard beyond that.</p>

      <description><![CDATA[<p>I am having problems getting the figure metrics script to enable editing for all measurement that are displayed after applying the Measure Genesis 3 Female wearable, only five measurement are editable. For example I have the ability to change the bust measurement but not the UnderBust measurement or the height and not the waist measurements. I tried using the configurator but I have no clue what to select for the settings.</p>

      <description><![CDATA[<p>I have the Mil Horse 2 (but not the pro bundle - I Know, more on that in a moment) and IDG Iray textures. &nbsp;Simply put, I didn&#39;t see anything in the pro bundle I wanted all that badly at this time.</p>

<p>I did, however want the IDG textures. &nbsp;They so &quot;pro bundle required&quot; but the pro bundle on the store today does not list any texture packs. &nbsp;The devis is in the details it seems. &nbsp;The same horse appears to come with more feastures that are not in some separate product. &nbsp;Is there a way to get the other materials and stuff without returning the mil horse and buying the pro bundle?</p>

      <description><![CDATA[<p>There are loads of YouTube videos about how to model clothing in Blender, but not many deal with exporting the models and rigging them properly for DAZ Studio.</p>

<p>I&#39;ve been working on a shirt, and when I finally got it on a character last night, the result was pretty bad--poke-through everywhere. When I get home, I will have to diagnose whether the Genesis 3 model I exported was bad because maybe when I originally exported it, I didn&#39;t know to turn off subdivision and the HD stuff.</p>

<p>But anyway, here&#39;s what I did. Can anyone tell me any steps I might&#39;ve left out?</p>

<p>1. Export the Genesis 3 character for use in Blender.<br />
2. Model the shirt around the character.<br />
3. UV unwrap and paint a texture.<br />
4. Export the shirt model for use in DAZ.<br />
5. Start DAZ, load up the Genesis 3 character, then import the shirt.<br />
6. Use the Surfaces pane to re-apply the texture from Blender.<br />
7. Use the Transfer Utility to copy the character&#39;s armature to the shirt.<br />
8. Use &quot;Fit To&quot; in order to make the character &quot;wear&quot; the newly rigged shirt.</p>

<p>I didn&#39;t do any weight mapping in Blender or DAZ.</p>

<p>The resulting shirt had more poke-through than not, and the Collision Item setting I&#39;m familiar with on other pieces of clothing was nowhere to be found. So I&#39;m sure I missed a step or two; I just don&#39;t know what they are.</p>

      <description><![CDATA[<p>Well, I feel like a newbie again. And I may be stupid or ignorant not to understand this. I&#39;ve rendered 47 frames without any problems. But at frame 48 it rendered a blue (blank) one. I&#39;ve tried to change some parameters but failed. And then I notice that it turns blue from the frame I see the camera outline (as attached). How can this happen? I used perspective camera to see it and found nothing wrong. Thanks in advance!</p>

      <description><![CDATA[<p>I have a 1050 ti which has 4 GB of memory. Until today if the memory is exceeded, rendering is cpu only.</p>

<p>This scene seems to need at least 7.5 GB.</p>

<p>Here are some snippets from my log.</p>

<p>CUDA device 0 (GeForce GTX 1050 Ti): out of memory (while allocating memory)<br />
CUDA device 0 (GeForce GTX 1050 Ti): Failed to allocate 875.653 MiB</p>

<p>My hardware monitor shows the Geforce card is being maxed out on the processor and only 80 percent of its memory is being used.</p>

<p>I had messed with this scene several times trying to eliminate textures and objects to get the size down but it always went to cpu only. So I gave up and decided to just let it do the whole scene on cpu instead of trying to photoshop a bunch of layers together.</p>

<p>Now the GPU is rendering a scene that I didn&#39;t think it could and that I couldn&#39;t render 3 hours ago. Did I stumble on to some magic or am I crazy?</p>

      <description><![CDATA[<p><span>[Making parts of a part transparent?] </span>Or, making them disappear from the rest of the part altogether? Is that possible? Here&#39;s what I mean.</p>

<p>I&#39;m currently using the SS Marcoor Control Room. You know the heagonal bases there? There are some little light projectors and cables coming off of them. I only need the hexagonal base in a scene, not the light projectors and cables. Is there a way to turn just those unwanted bits off so that they don&#39;t appear in the final render? I&#39;ve circled the parts in question in this image:</p>

      <description><![CDATA[<p>I&#39;ve downloaded a car&nbsp;model&nbsp;in .3DS format, but both the&nbsp;converters I&#39;ve tried&mdash;Poseray and Autodesk&#39;s .FBX converter&mdash;produce a lumpy, distorted mess that looks as if it&#39;s been in a high speed crash. Of course the textures,&nbsp;materials, and scale are messed up too, but that could conceivably be addressed.</p>

<p>Since Carrara is presently on sale, I&#39;d buy it for the sole purpose of converting car models into something that would look good in DS...but only if&nbsp;it was capable of doing so. Otherwise it would be $45 wasted, since I doubt like heck&nbsp;I&#39;d use it for anything else. I understand Poser can do the job too, but I have no interest in learning it, let alone paying for it.</p>

<p>Can anyone comment on the quality I could expect from a 3DS &gt; Carrara &gt; DS import/export chain?</p>

      <description><![CDATA[<p>I thought I had this figured out, but I&#39;m having problems with JCMs in certain areas. Specifically Side-Side (ZRotate). The sculpt fixes one side (left) quite well, but when the same fix is applied to the other side (right), I get deformation issues. My other JCMs work fairly well, but those are for one direction (e.g. Bend forward), not back and forth or side to side.</p>

      <description><![CDATA[<p>For the last month or so I haven&#39;t seen the typical emails from Daz 3D advertising new products and the like.&nbsp;&nbsp; I have received emails from Daz 3D Forums regarding forum updates for bookmarked topics.&nbsp;&nbsp; The last sale notice I remember seeing was from 5/10 of this year regarding some of Stonemason&#39;s products. &nbsp; I&#39;m not sure if I may have accidentally turned some notification setting off but have looked around my account settings on the site and can&#39;t seem to find where these notifications would be set.&nbsp; Where should I be looking for these settings?</p>

<p>This may have been answered already but a search of the forums showed nothing so here goes.</p>

<p>I&#39;m giving DazStudio 4.9 a go and I&#39;ve been using the install manager for the content instalation, I have found most but not all items are logicly organised.</p>

<p>Some vendors are just putting stuff in their own folders rather than using the existing file structure which is confusing when trying to find stuff.</p>

<p>Q: If I move installed content will this impact the uninstall option of the Install Manager?</p>

<p>&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp; Also would this be the same for Poser Runtime content?</p>

<p>I am trying to make Laticis Imagery&#39;s Head Slime look like milk.</p>

<p>You know, somewhat opaquely, very pale blue-white and thin. I tried MEC4D&#39;s vol 2 iRay shaders but they were too clear for this head slime.</p>

      <description><![CDATA[<p>Hey everyone,</p>

<p>Got a bit of a strange situation and I&#39;m all out of ideas as to what is going on. I&#39;m by no means a easoned pro with DAZ - still learning!</p>

<p>Anyway, I&#39;m working on a scene at present that requires the male model to be nude. &nbsp;This is all well and good, but I&#39;m using the <a rel="nofollow" href="https://www.daz3d.com/shaved-hair-for-genesis-3-male-s">&#39;Shaved Hair for Genesis 3 Males&#39;</a> by bluejaunte and when this hair is applied, his genitalia lose all texture and appear plain white.</p>

<p>This doesn&#39;t happen with any other hair I may use. &nbsp;Any ideas as to what&#39;s causing this to happen, and if there is a solution / workaround?</p>

      <description><![CDATA[<p>Hey all, have a problem that I&#39;ve been running into a lot laltely. Sometimes I&#39;ve been able to fix it, sometimes I haven&#39;t. Hopeing someone can help me figure out exactly what&#39;s going on and how to stop it/fix it/prevent it in the future. On the attached picture you can see that the figure has weird checkered patterns all over her skin. Any idea what is causing this? Sometimes changing her skin makes it go away, sometimes it doesn&#39;t. Sometimes changing the group id fizes it, sometimes it doesn&#39;t. Sometimes deleting the skin from the computer then redownloading fixes it, sometimes it doesn&#39;t.</p>
