      <description><![CDATA[<p>I wonder if there is a way to have two actors collide so that their skin deforms&nbsp;(i.e. one actor pokes the other in the cheek and have the cheek dimple on contact)? I&#39;m very new to Daz Studio and have a lot (read:everything) to learn. I&#39;ve searched the forum and the web but can&#39;t find anything like this. I&#39;ve found a lot of tutorials on having clothing colide with an actor/object, but nothing between two actors.</p>

<p>&nbsp;Any help with this or tips to replicate the effect would be much appreciated.</p>

      <description><![CDATA[<p>I&#39;ve finally made the jump from G2 to G3 (good timing, eh?), but one thing annoys me about the posing. In G2, moving the Eyes Up/;Down dial moved both the eyes and the eyelids. In G3, only the eyes move.</p>

<p>But then I got to thinking, I ought to be able to create some kind of morph that moves the eyes and lids dials as I dial it up and down, just like a regular G3 expression.</p>

<p>So my question is: how do I make a a new dial-moving expresion, and (ideally) have it show up in my G3 pose controls?</p>

      <description><![CDATA[<p>Dear Daz-users!</p>

<p>I know there are a lot of posts about similar issues but I&#39;ve found nothing that adresses my problem entirely.</p>

<p>&nbsp;I recently bought an Nvidea gtx&nbsp;1060 6gb to use with iray. I go&nbsp;to render settings and mark&nbsp;both cpu and gpu and hit render. It then renders&nbsp;at the&nbsp;exact same speed as with my old gtx 570... I go there&nbsp;again and uncheck the&nbsp;cpu so it should only use my new 1060. It starts rendering and after about&nbsp;5 seconds it&#39;s &quot;finished&quot;, but&nbsp;nothing is rendered and it&#39;s just the empty grayish square pattern as unrendered.</p>

<p>&nbsp;Has anyone had this problem? It shouldn&#39;t be&nbsp;a memory issue and the drivers are up to date. I think that maybe my old gtx 570 never worked either and I just assumed it was too slow.</p>

<p>&nbsp;I&#39;m sorry if there already is another post on exactly this issue but as far as I can tell there is none.&nbsp;I appreciate the help very much!&nbsp;</p>

      <description><![CDATA[<p>Product Parameters dials showed up correctly for three days, now the morphs and dials have gone away. Same for Genesis Female Genital Morphs, the parameters have gone away after being installed for over two months. Is there an update with Daz3d that I missed? Version of Daz3d that I have installed is 4.9.117.</p>

<p>I had not made any changes to Daz or the file structure.</p>

<p>The male product is from Renderotica.com. It is the Hafada Shape from RedlightZZ.<br />
The female product is from Renderotica.com. It is from Poison, the G3FGen Morphs.</p>

<p>The female morph has been installed for about two months. No issues and no changes to the file structure inside Daz3d that I am aware of. This prop came with a self install.</p>

<p>The male prop was installed three days ago and worked good up until yesterday morning. I manually had to install props under the morph section for the male gens.</p>

<p>I have even re-installed Daz3d and deleted all files in the file cloud. I installed all items in their proper place but I cannot get the parameter dials to come back.</p>

<p>&nbsp;</p>

<p>Any help and/or ideas on how to fix is much needed. &nbsp;</p>

      <title>Gray Block From Drag and Drop</title>

      <description><![CDATA[<p>I&#39;ve searched for the &quot;gray block&quot; and found the same kinds of answers, but they do not help me.&nbsp;</p>

<p>What I want to do is drag and drop, for example, a non-DAZ hair onto my compatible figure in DAZ.&nbsp; But, the dsf and the duf in some of the new files for G3 either don&#39;t do anything at all, or I get the unforgiving gray block. Any mention of the gray block has the same basic instruction, look at the mapping. I want to do the mapping &quot;by hand&quot;.&nbsp;</p>

<p>I do not want to install non-DAZ purchases. I use the DAZ installer for DAZ products, but the last time I &quot;copied&quot; an outside purchase to &quot;My Library&quot; or &quot;My DAZ Library&quot; (per vendor instructions) everything in my content disappeared from the selection panes in both smart content and content. It took a lot of uninstalling of perfectly well performing DAZ products and reinstalling them, which is not yet complete but it was too much to do in one swoop</p>

<p>If I want to drag and drop, what do I drag and drop?&nbsp; dsf? duf? which ones? What is the Geometry &quot;obj&quot; now? How can I manually point to the &quot;missing files&quot;? They are in the same folder that I unzipped to, same file names, etc. I tell it the path, but it doesn&#39;t &quot;see&quot;.</p>

<p>I note if I drag and drop a cr2, there is no problem. If the dialog comes up for a mat, I use the window that pops up and find the mat image asked for, and drag it to the surface pane to the appropriate surface item, ie bmp for a hair cap. This works for me, as I do not crash my computer for the time I spend doing it this way. But, I&#39;ve just wasted money on dsf/duf products if all I get is &quot;The Gray Block&quot;.&nbsp;</p>

      <description><![CDATA[<p>On yet another new (used) computer. The replacement for the dead replacement for the dropped netbook I used years ago died. Now I have a cute dell laptop that is pretty fast. Quite like it.</p>

<p>Anyhow, I have DS 4.9, and I&#39;ve brought in the old daz studio folders from the old hard disk in a folder and put that folder in the content manager.</p>

<p>I managed to find my old toothless 8-year-old character, &quot;Trotwood McAllister.&quot; As before, I just loaded the file &quot;trot4.daz.&quot; and he appeared in his polo shirt, jeans and untied shoes. I wanted him in the overalls he often wears, but can&#39;t find them.</p>

<p>Now, I&#39;m trying to get his bibs on him. He&#39;s a K4 and often wears &quot;K4 Overalls&quot; that somebody adapted to K4 for me years ago. I can find the .obj file in a folder: &nbsp;C:\Users\User\Documents\DS\Studio3\content\Runtime\Geometries\K4Overalls as overalls.jpg but don&#39;t find them in DS4.9 on the Content Libraries tab under Studio 3 - Content - Geometries. There, I find folders for only &quot;Eyes&quot; and &quot;mamo...&quot;</p>

<p>Just a quick question to get a bit of advice from the community...</p>

<p>My GTX 980 Ti has given up and has had to be returned to the store under warranty. &nbsp;It is only 13 months old so I&#39;m a little bit put out after pulling out so much money for it. &nbsp;But it&#39;s being sent back to ASUS for repair or replacement. &nbsp;The store seem to think it&#39;ll end up being replaced so my question to him was &quot;with what card?&quot;, as the 980 series is no longer available new.</p>

<p>He said I&#39;d get a GTX 1070 as a replacement if it comes to that. &nbsp;I&#39;ve done a little research and it looks to me like the 980 Ti scores much better in a lot of areas - see [&nbsp;<a href="http://gpu.userbenchmark.com/Compare/Nvidia-GTX-980-Ti-vs-Nvidia-GTX-1070/3439vs3609" target="_blank" rel="nofollow">http://gpu.userbenchmark.com/Compare/Nvidia-GTX-980-Ti-vs-Nvidia-GTX-1070/3439vs3609</a> ]</p>

<p>The official specs of each card also show that the 980 Ti has 2816 CUDA cores as opposed to the 1070&#39;s 1920. &nbsp;That&#39;s a big old drop in CUDA cores which I know are really important in DAZ rendering.</p>

<p>So, in your opinion, am I getting a better card or worse? &nbsp;How will the 1070 fare against the 980 Ti when it comes to rendering? &nbsp;Would it be worth offering to pay the difference and try for a 1080?</p>

<p>Any help greatly appreciated. &nbsp;This kind of stuff is not my area of expertise!</p>

      <description><![CDATA[<p>I have the School Sports Outfits for Genesis 3 Female(s) package,&nbsp;SKU:45577 by PA&nbsp;Rarestone. This is a really nice package however, I have found a problem when exporting the swimsuits (both version A and B) to Zbrush via GoZ.</p>

<p>When I return the swimsuit to DS by GoZ (even without performing any actions on it) I get an error message indicating that the geometry has changed; see the attached images for the GoZ export options and the resultant error on return to DS by GoZ.</p>

<p>This issue does not arise with the other items in the package.</p>

<p>I have sent this problem to the Help Desk but they say they cannot test the problem because it involves Zbrush which they don&#39;t support. This in itself is strange as they do support GoZ, so their technicians must have Zbrush.</p>

<p>I don&#39;t see how the problem can be blamed on Zbrush as 1) no actions were performed in Zbrush; the item was loaded by GoZ and then immediately returned to DS by GoZ. and 2) the problem does not occur with other items in the package, or any other items from any other package for that matter!</p>

<p>Has anyone else had this problem with the swimsuits from this package?</p>

<p>Could anyone with the package and Zbrush please try sending the swimsuits to Zbrush via GoZ and then back to DS using GoZ, to see if the problem is not specific to my system.</p>

<p>Perhaps Rarestone, would like to comment? I really like the swimsuits but want to makes some morphs in Zbrush.</p>

<p>I render in 3delight and the first thing I noticed is how different it looks in actual (the result I got) vs commercial renders. I think this might be because the product is an old one? Since the surface tab for the eyes is very different from the usual one on 3delight. I&#39;ve attached a screenshot of the surface tab and also the actual vs commercial renders.&nbsp;</p>

      <description><![CDATA[<p>I&#39;ve had this issue before, and it seems incorrectable. though I think I &#39;fixed&#39; it by tweaking load order or something. Anyway, does anyone know WHY this is happening and what causes it and how to actually fix it? I&#39;ve tried reloading the texture (Ophelia 7), adding a completely new texture, copying the unaffected parts to the affected parts (torso to face, lips, arms) and I still have same issue. Is it a memory thing? It happened after loading on a hair while checking to see what hair I would like on this character.&nbsp;</p>

<p>I &#39;ve just purchased Wet Body&nbsp;<a rel="nofollow" href="https://www.daz3d.com/genesis-3-male-s-wet-body-iray">https://www.daz3d.com/genesis-3-male-s-wet-body-iray&nbsp;</a>and I&#39;m wondering of there are any &nbsp;tutorials or documentation for it?</p>

<p>I&#39;ve searched You Tube and the usual channels and I can&#39;t find anything. I&#39;m adding the textures and everything is working OK, but when I put a tear for instance on a model and render it, it looks SO fake, i&#39;ve fiddled with some settings, but it doesn&#39;t really ever look real. (Image 1 shows my render)</p>

<p>In addition, adding adding Rolling Water to a model and rendering, looks pretty good, but some of the reflections are very metallic looking (Image 2) and the drops of water look almost scaly. there are no added lights to the scene, so I may be being premature using dome and scene light and should work with some lights and a camera, but I&#39;d have thought it would have some with a wee bit of documentation?</p>

<p>I&#39;m sure it&#39;s a great product, but it seems it can&#39;t work out of the box without some tinkering, so any pointers to documentation or tutorials, or any of your vast knowledge would be appreciated.</p>

      <description><![CDATA[<p>Apologies if I&#39;m posting this in the wrong spot, but it was the only place I figured it would make sense. I&#39;m having a&nbsp;problem where whenever I render a scene in Reality/Luxrender using Michael 7, the lips always appear unnatural, as if he were wearing lipstick. I&#39;ve tried changing the texture from glossy to skin, as well as some other little tweaks but nothing seems to fix it. This is the only figure I have this issue with; G3M, V6, and everything else I own work fine.&nbsp;Attached are two test scenes where you can see the issue, one with M7 Mateo and one with M7 default.</p>

      <description><![CDATA[<p>I&#39;ve seen lots of resources and discussions about exporting Daz figures and props to the Unreal Engine... But is anyone aware of methods/resources/advice for getting an animated Daz Studio camera into Unreal&#39;s sequencer?</p>

<p>Any time I try to export an animated cam from Daz and into Unreal via FBX export (as&nbsp;one would assume to be the way to do it) it crashes my Unreal map... And trying to use Blender as a go between with mcjExportCamToBlender seems to somehow lose the animation keyframes along the way.&nbsp;</p>

<p>Idk if anyone else has ever tried to do this but if anyone has insight, I&#39;d really appreciate it. &nbsp;Thanks.</p>

      <description><![CDATA[<p>Every since Will educated us about Iray canvases, I always render to them and then adjust the balance of the 32-bit image in photoshop. This gives me way more control over the balance. I was hoping to also manage depth of field ( DOF ) with a depth canvas. When I rendered, though it has a lot of salt and pepper noise. I can&#39;t really use it for lens shift in photoshop. How can I get a smoother render? See full sized image so see the spots. I found an interesting tutorial here:</p>

<p>I can&#39;t really understand how exactly can someone make such an image in Daz3D. Is that basically a low quality image adjusted to a certain size and put outside of the window? I don&#39;t know and I would like to know how to get this kind of a thing working in my renders as well.</p>

<p>Follow up question which might be a bit unrelated - How can you make it so that, for example, a render is a character, and the background is a bit &quot;blurry&quot; in a way that the character in the render isn&#39;t blurried (kinda like some kind of a &quot;Focus&quot; thing for when making pictures). How do I achieve this?</p>

<p>First off, let me offer myself up as a cautionary tale.  I actually solved the problem I'm facing now back in March of 2012.  I even wrote up the step-by-step instructions on how to export LightWave .lwo files to .OBJs, and then import them into DAZ with their UV maps intack.  Heck, I even have a partially-finished model that I'm looking to share that has an exported UV.  Unfortunately, those steps were all on the old forum, and not the new one, and I didn't save a local copy.</p>

<p>Bad Avindair.  No biscuit.</p>

<p>So, I'm back to square one.</p>

<p>Here is what I'm trying to do:  I am creating some props for my 3D comic and also for a free "give-away" to DAZ users.  I've included some shots of the pieces I've already knocked together, and an quick example of one possible arrangement.  The modeling, UV mapping, and surfacing aren't a problem.  The whole thing, unfortunately, falls down on import into DAZ.</p>

<p>Okay, here is what I'm doing:</p>

<p>1.  Export model (which has UV maps and associated image files located in the object location) to an OBJ.<br />
2.  Import the OBJ into DAZ Studio.<br />
3.  Model loads fine, but no UV maps are found.</p>

<p>I've tried this both as one massive OBJ file, and as individual pieces.  I never, ever get the UV maps to come across.</p>

<p>At t his point I'm at a loss.  The UV maps are there, but DAZ will not read them.</p>

<p>Any help would be appreciated.</p>

      <description><![CDATA[<p>So I&#39;ve come across this issue a few times in Studio, somtimes merging scenes or having to much stuff makes a model unselectable. So say if I try to grab an arm with node slect, pose selction, etc. it can&#39;t select and instead just has Reality_Scene_data (xxxx) or scene_dat (xxxx) on the part I&#39;m trying to grab; I can however still select within the Scene tab. I&#39;ve tried enabling, disabling figure as well as deleting undeleting figure to no avail. Saving the scene and exiting then reloading let&#39;s me pick it back up, but the recent load times for Studio can be rather long. Is there a way to correct this on the fly?</p>
