I wanted to use my model (saved previously as 3D SCENE) but I&#39;ve got some problems with some parts of the body (as you can see on the picture below). What should I do to fix this errors??</p>

<p>Second problem is with my pet - parrot - I can&#39;t find anywhere (also in Daz Store) a good pose/poses for this model. Does anybody of you know where I sholud look for this items(or any bird poses work with DAZS STUDIO 4.9)?       <description><![CDATA[<p>I am sure I am missing something painfully easy, but I can&#39;t get the street texture to show up properly.</p>

<p>The asphalt appears to be applied in the wrong scale. See screenshot of US3Block01 Iray, this is how it looks when first loaded, no changes made:</p>

<p>Applying the US3 Multi Layer Road Surface does not change anything either.</p>

<p>Apart from the scale of the texture, how do I get the white street lines to appear? I understand the road texture has 3 layers, but experimenting with the layer 1-3 weights does nothing to how the texture looks.</p>

<p>Any help would be appreciated!</p>

Load G3f and pose her and then I want to apply the character preset I saved from before. Thing is I can't find the character preset anywhere. I went through all the content files and went through the smartcontent tab. Vanished. So, can anyone direct me to a link and give me an explanation on how to use character presets?]]></description>

      <description><![CDATA[<p>Yeah, I am new to this program. There is a steep learning curve and not every detail is obvious.</p>

<p>1. How do I make a short video render entirely from the camera point of view?</p>

<p>2. My first renders where always dark, until I changed to &quot;Sun-Sky&quot;, and set the day time to 11:55 A.M. then things seemed fine... uhm, why was it dark (no matter how many lights I added)&nbsp;to begin with?&nbsp;</p>

<p>3. now when I render, all I get is a pure black blot. why?</p>

<p>does Daz work or not?&nbsp;</p>

<p>4. How do I do a TOTAL UNISTALL - no hidden folders, no saved preferences, etc. a total nuclear option, to take it out, and start over.?</p>

<p>5. I had scoured the web for an easily accumilated 100 gigs&nbsp;of free-stuff for Daz3d: Needless to say, much of that conent did not work at all - and when it does... It doesn&#39;t show up in the &quot;ALL FILES&quot; of products, my library, or even the content library. Imagine my exasperation:&nbsp;&nbsp;I unzip a file, I read the read me, (which is 70% of the time is two or so pointless sentences) I am sometimes left with a set of files and no clue where they go in &quot;My library&quot; - That just sucks. I consider this a FAILURE of the people behind Daz3d to make 3rd party daz content plug and play.&nbsp;I had&nbsp;more fun modding the SIMS 2. and if the massive mountains of FREE, but unorganized content didn&#39;t teach the folks at Daz to refine how Content needs to be &quot;Plug&#39;n&#39;Play&quot; without fail. I have a UV file - where does that go? I have an mtl file, where does that go? I have a 3d object file, I have a jpeg, I have a png, I get files that don&#39;t even blong there (my favorite so far was a colorful PDF catalogue for a dead link...)&nbsp;</p>

<p>I am having to do WAY TOO MUCH WORK, to use a program that so far... &nbsp;<strong><em>HAS NOT WORKED.</em></strong></p>

<p>Solutions would be nice, especially if these are brought up by other users (repeatedly)...</p>

<p>Daz, can these issues be resolved, or not? let me know now - do not waste my time please.</p>

<p>I&#39;ve been searching on the forum if anyone had this problem too but I didn&#39;t find anything.</p>

<p>Well, I&#39;ve been trying to render a sequence with Iray, not in &quot;Photorealism&quot; but in Interactive as I wanted some object not to cast shadows. So I did what I wanted and deactivated &quot;cast shadow&quot; on the object and verified that it was still active on everything else and it was. Before rendering, I made sure that &quot;shadows&quot; in the render setting was &quot;on&quot;.</p>

<p>Unfortunatly, despite all my effort, There is absolutly not a single shadow in the render and I don&#39;t understand why. I&#39;ve been using DAZ 3D since a week now so probaly it&#39;s due to my lack of knowledge but I&#39;d be glad if anyone could help me with this one as I&#39;m getting truly desperate ^^&#39;.</p>

<p>Anyway, thanks in advance to anyone who could help me.</p>

<p>So I&#39;m new here, and have been playing a bit with Daz, which includes buying some add-ons.</p>

<p>But some don&#39;t seem to work well, to the point where I&#39;m wondering if I should ask for a refund or if I just don&#39;t get it right.</p>

<p>For example, I bought : <a href="https://www.daz3d.com/sidereal" target="_blank" rel="nofollow">https://www.daz3d.com/sidereal</a>, and despite the fact that it should work with Gen3 male, well, it doesn&#39;t (I click and the props don&#39;t appear on him at all, even if the character is selected).</p>

<p>Another instance is Magus clothes, that I have in Daz3, and that don&#39;t fit any generation, including base Genesis.</p>

<p>And a few others, you get the drill. So, am I missing something ?</p>

      <description><![CDATA[<p>Alright. I&#39;ve found DAZ Connect to be useful in rapidly downloading my purchases. But I&#39;ve also run into a problem. More often than not after&nbsp;I download something vis DAZ Connect and then transfer said downloads to the the library proper, I get an error when trying to load said resource later on. The following error message shows up; &quot;Could not open File (insert product here). File does not exist.&quot;</p>

<p>Now I&#39;ve been able to get around this to an extent by dragging said prop/wardrobe/etc into the scene, but that sometimes results in things getting parented when I don&#39;t want that to happen and other inconveiences.</p>

<p>So I &#39;m guessing that I have to do something to get DAZ Studio to look for these resources in &quot;My Library&quot; instead of &quot;My Daz Connect Library.&quot; The question is...what the heck do I do?!</p>

      <description><![CDATA[<p>Usually if you have an emissive surface, like a large rectangle lighting a prop, it shows up in the render, unless you use a beauty canvas. Then you can add the light to the scene without rendering the large emissive rectangle.&nbsp;</p>

<p>in the past it has worked 100%, but for some reason in my latest scene, it&#39;s taking out the bright green emissive cone, and replacing it with a black cone instead.</p>

<p>If I add the alpha option in canvases, it then replaces the bright green rectangle with a alpha rectangle, effectively cutting a huge cone shape into my image.</p>

<p>Has anyone ever experienced this who can lead me in the right direction?</p>

      <description><![CDATA[<p>Okay, I thought I was being clever, and saved a bunch of characters out seperately as scene presets, so they&#39;d load later already ready already with hair, geographed body-parts, etc already attached, with their respective, seperate textures already applied, etc, so I didn&#39;t have to scramble through a whole bunch of completely different dir paths each time for those EACH time I loaded a given character for a new scene. &nbsp;I then returned&nbsp;later and went to load several of the characters back in to place them in a scene, went to pose them by the usual click-a-body-part-in-viewport-and-then-move-the-sliders-in-Parameters technique....&nbsp;and discovered it wasn&#39;t letting me select the usual body segment. &nbsp;Instead, I&#39;d get the ENTIRE arm and hands,&nbsp;AND the other arm and hands, as one single, non-movable object. &nbsp;Clicking anywhere on the main body would give me the ENTIRE upper body (except for the arms) and the back of the head as a single object. &nbsp;Similar with the lower legs. &nbsp;Smoke WHAT?!? &nbsp;At first, I thought it had saved each of the characters out as some sort of statue-prop, but then I noticed I COULD access all the usual body segments from the Pose &amp; Animate tab and move them like normal. &nbsp;Evidently, I&#39;ve accidently enabled some sort of lock-the-body-down mode in DS and have NO Earthly idea how to turn it back OFF. &nbsp;oO</p>

<p>Edited to add: Okay, fired up DS anew, loaded a fresh G3M directly from Smart Content &gt; Figures &gt; People, and got exactly the same locked-down results, so apparently its not something related to loading a character from a saved scene-preset. &nbsp;Oo &nbsp;What am I missing here?</p>

<p>I updated the instal manager and found later that it had wiped my download &amp; Instal locations so now almost a thousand items are in a different locations .</p>

<p>As the new default (C:) is an SSD I need to move everything to my larger HD drive but Install manager doesnt see my old content any more.</p>

<p>Has anyone run into this issue?</p>

<p>How can I combine these into one drive so that Install manager can recognise both groups of downloads?</p>

<p>I take it there must be some record file(s) that take care of this?</p>

<p>I redownloaded the program with DIM, let the exe run, and still nothing.</p>

<p>Desktop shortcuts are gone, and even navigating to the .exe file location doesn&#39;t help.</p>

      <description><![CDATA[<p>Hi wondering if any brilliant 3D artists can tell me an approach to solve a problem that boils down to saving added scene animation information.</p>

<p>&nbsp;</p>

<p>What I am doing is a transition &quot;effect&quot; on a Genesis 3 character. Using the timeline she has a start shape morph&nbsp;some keyframe guides&nbsp;and an end shape. All good nothing complicated.</p>

<p>The next layer of the effect is a transition from one character texture to another. She has&nbsp;a 2nd texture on a geoshell which &nbsp;I used mcausuals MatAnim script to set the OpacityStength to animated (Linear). This&nbsp;opacity field is shifting from 100% to 0% during the range of the animation to hide her fading tan.Over so many&nbsp;&nbsp;frames my character changes from one character to another with a slow blend of texture.</p>

<p>It works fine on my simple scene seed but then I typically save it&nbsp;to composite with other elements. Hair and cloths are working fine when it has a low displacement.</p>

<p>The obstacle is that the animation data of the geoshells opacity strength does not seem to be saving, loading or both.</p>

<p>&nbsp;</p>

<p>I&#39;m using Daz version 4.9.2.70 but can bite the bullet and update if this would help.&nbsp;</p>

<p>I have tried saving the geoshell as material preset, wearable and the scene simply as a scene.</p>

<p>Can anyone suggest how to save/load my full scene data with the keyframe data on these normally hidden properties?</p>

      <description><![CDATA[<p>This may be a dumb question but I&#39;m still scratching my head over why G3 figures and shapes come DSON ready.&nbsp; Seems rather useless since the figures aren&#39;t usable in Poser and can&#39;t even be seen in Poser in the format that is SUPPOSED to be DSON ready.</p>

<p>Does anyone else feel that DAZ has missed the boat in not making sure all of their contect is usable in Poser?&nbsp; My thinking is this that DAZ makes most of its money out of selling content and up until Genesis most of DAZ content was compatible with Poser.&nbsp; DSON was a great step towards rectifying a bad situation for everyone including DAZ sales department.&nbsp; Excluding G3 and G8 figures from being able to be used in Poser is a huge step backwards both as far as clients and sales are concerned.</p>

      <description><![CDATA[<p>Hi everyone. &nbsp;I&nbsp;got daz to export to cinema 4d correctly using an .obj file. &nbsp;I&#39;m doing a storyboard so I don&#39;t have to worry about animation. &nbsp;I&#39;m posing in daz, natch, and then bringing the pose over. &nbsp;I can&#39;t adjust the pose in cinema 4d effectively and the file is huge. So I am going in and deleting all the skeletal internal stuff you can&#39;t see. &nbsp;But I remember in my old version of cinema 4d (r12 if you&#39;re curious, I&#39;m on r17 now), the .obj file would come out as a single object where the clothes and poses and everything was, I guess the term is &#39;baked&#39; in and a single object rather than the hundreds of parts it is now. &nbsp; And I want that to happen now. &nbsp;The one daz actor slows down cinema 4d a bit so I&#39;m thinking if I have eight or ten characters which I sometimes need then it&#39;ll be real slow. &nbsp;</p>

<p>I can composite layer stuff, doing the backgrounds in cinema 4d and then just rendering the characters in daz and combining them in photoshop. &nbsp;But I&#39;d like to be able to do it all in cinema 4d&#39;s renderer and in the same lighting conditions. &nbsp;Otherwise I&#39;m going to have to just use neutral lighting in daz, add gradient shadows in photoshop to the characters, and hope for the best. &nbsp;</p>

<p>So the questions are as follows:</p>

<p>1. &nbsp;Anyone know how to export a daz actor as (essensially) a statue with no moving parts. &nbsp;I&#39;m experimenting with the different file types and settings.</p>

<p>2. &nbsp;Anyone have any serious documentation on the different file types daz exports to or a good pipeline I can use. &nbsp;If you do, assume I&#39;m an idiot in your explaination.</p>

<p>3. &nbsp;If anyone regularly renders their posing animation by exporting the .bvh files (or whatever you do) into cinema 4d, any guidance about your workflow would be wonderful. &nbsp;Especially the pitfalls.</p>

However, when I searched the Content Library I found them (and they do work). So the extra colors have been installed. But how do I get them to display correctly in the Smart Content window like they are supposed to?</p>

      <description><![CDATA[<p>Hi guys and gals.&nbsp;</p>

<p>I&#39;m having an issue with geografting.&nbsp; Hope someone can help me out.&nbsp; I don&#39;t try this very often and I think I had it down once but I&#39;ve slept too many times since then and can&#39;t figure out what I&#39;m missing. <img alt="frown" src="https://www.daz3d.com/forums/plugins/ckeditor/js/ckeditor/plugins/smiley/images/confused_smile.png" title="frown" /></p>

<p>I&#39;ve tried both methods that I could find on this (OBJ import/export and Hexagon Bridge) and both ways yield the same result.&nbsp; I haven&#39;t touched scaling while working on the figures and the original started out zeroed and at base resolution.&nbsp; On export/import, I use Hexagon scale and that&#39;s the modeler I&#39;m using.&nbsp; May be a Hexagon import/export issue.&nbsp; I&#39;m not sure.</p>

<p>When I import to DAZ, the graft&#39;s positioning is perfect.&nbsp; All faces match up perfectly.&nbsp; My hopes are high.&nbsp;<img alt="laugh" src="https://www.daz3d.com/forums/plugins/ckeditor/js/ckeditor/plugins/smiley/images/teeth_smile.png" title="laugh" /> I use the transfer utility and for some reason it scales up the skeleton it creates approximately 65%.&nbsp; When I complete the georafting process and fit it to the figure, as expected, the skeleton scales down to match the original and the mesh follows.&nbsp; My hopes are dashed.&nbsp; <img alt="crying" src="https://www.daz3d.com/forums/plugins/ckeditor/js/ckeditor/plugins/smiley/images/cry_smile.png" title="crying" /></p>

<p>I&#39;ve tried several times using different settings in the TU like reverse shape from target or using current instead of default.&nbsp; It all comes out the same or worse.&nbsp; I followed the tutorials to the letter and still can&#39;t make it work.&nbsp;</p>

<p>I compared the bones between the two figures before fitting and the properties (center, end points and orientation) are exactly the same.&nbsp; It doesn&#39;t match up visually so I&#39;m guessing it has to be scale related.&nbsp; I know I&#39;ve seen this issue referred to in another post but for the life of me I can&#39;t find it again.&nbsp; The search feature in these forums leaves a lot to be desired.&nbsp;</p>

<p>Any help would be greatly appreciated.&nbsp; I know pictures would help but the graft is genitalia related.&nbsp; I&#39;m hoping someone&#39;s light bulb is already on and they&#39;ve dealt with this before.&nbsp;</p>

      <description><![CDATA[<p>This has happened once or twice before: I inadvertently add items to my shopping cart <em>before</em> logging in. After I&#39;ve logged in, the item count shows up in the top right-hand corner, but I get the error message and can&#39;t buy the stuff. I can&#39;t even re-add the items since they&#39;re already&nbsp;in my cart...except I can&#39;t get at them!&nbsp;Logging out and back in again doesn&#39;t cure the problem.</p>

<p>It&#39;s extremely frustrating--especially with Flash Sale items--and I&#39;m sure others have experienced the same problem. If someone could tell me how to cure it, I&#39;d be duly grateful.</p>

<p>[ edit/update: Waiting 20 minutes or so did the trick. Still, it&#39;s a weird and annoying glitch that I&#39;ve never experienced&nbsp;anywhere else. ]</p>

      <description><![CDATA[<p>I&#39;ve got a first approximation of a scene that I created on my windows 7 pc. When I copied the scene over to my windows 10 pc to do a test render, there are differences in how it shows up. The water in the pool is invisible and shadows are gone. It&#39;s turned off in the screenshot, but when I had a dome on in windows 7 I could see a background, in windows 10 it also didn&#39;t show. It all seems to render ok, water/shadows are as they should be. Screenshot attached has win 7 on left and win 10 on right. &nbsp;What do I need to change in windows 10 to be able to see everything?</p>

      <description><![CDATA[<p>&nbsp;I&#39;m not sure if anything has been mentioned about the highly&nbsp;annoying auto pose&nbsp;&nbsp;feature in daz studio as seems to have been there&nbsp;&nbsp;ever since I started using it,&nbsp;what I would like to know is there anyway to disable it,&nbsp;as it makes setting up poses&nbsp; a nightmare as it&#39;s too easy to accidently set it off and mangle the pose you were working on..and although you can just click undo it takes 3 tiimes as long if you are working on somthing complex.. many thanks for any help given</p>

      <description><![CDATA[<p>I uninstalled a product that I do not have the prerequisite for. The product still shows up in the Content Library Product listing. When I right click on it, rename and delete are greyed out and can't be selected. I have stopped and restarted DAZ Studio, but it is still there. I am running DAZ Studio 4.0.3.47 Pro on Windows 64 bit. How do I get rid of that product name in the product listing?</p>]]></description>
