      <description><![CDATA[<p>I built a new maching with a smallish SSD C: drive and a 3Tb standard D: drive. &nbsp;When I loaded up Daz I changed the path statement on Install Manager to the D: drive as advised here on the forum. &nbsp;Downloaded all my content. &nbsp;</p>

<p>After about 6 months I&#39;m running out of space on my C: drive. &nbsp;I downloaded TreeSize&nbsp;to find out why and found My DAZ 3d Library is consuming about 220 GB on BOTH my C: and D: drives. &nbsp;Looks like Daz is duplicating all it&#39;s files on both drives.</p>

<p>Any advice on how to fix this?</p>

      <description><![CDATA[<p>I was attempting to place the nipples of one model onto a different texture. Specifically I was copying Cailin G3 nipples to the Pale Skin Templates G8 in Photoshop. The surgery was succeful but when I took the exported jpg and placed in the Transulcency Color, where the Pale Skin store bought template goes,&nbsp;her whole torso ends up purple. Yikes. The original SSS map.jpg and the exoprted jpg look exactly alike so not sure why it whos one thing as a preview but doesnt work as a map.&nbsp;Maybe this is not possible or am I simply doing something wrong, missing a step? It seemed to easy and good to be true...</p>

<p>I&#39;ve read some threads on this already,&nbsp;so if there was a comment about this and I missed it, please let me know... Hopefully, I don&#39;t come off as an idiot...</p>

<p>Before anyone starts commenting, just to let you know nothing has been moved yet... just asking for advice...</p>

<p>1) I have been downloading files to one folder on my desktop computer. I&#39;d like to move them to an external Hard Drive so that I can access the files when I am on my laptop. I understand copying and pasting is fairly easy, however, is it easy to change the direct path in the DIM to reconnect everything?</p>

<p>2) Along these lines, I think I&#39;d like to organize my files better than just putting all the files in one folder. I&#39;ve seen a picture where someone organized their files as this example: People&gt;Model&gt;Hair. It looked liked the screen shot was from within the Daz3D software (the DIM?) How does one organize files like that? Is it helpful? I see that when you load a model into the software, you can click around and the software will show you what you have for clothes, shirts, hair etc. Does it matter to have things organized in different folders since the DIM is putting everything in one folder? Thoughts? (This was a lot of information to take in, I know.)</p>

<p>PS - I have not saved any characters yet. Though, I have played around with the software a little. If I need to delete, download, reinstall, or whatever, that is not a disaster.</p>

<p>Is it possible to apply an animation to a figure by way of an FBX file?</p>

<p>I have been using animations from the Mixamo website and applying them to DAZ figure using BVH files, but Mixamo will be eliminating BVH support after August 22.</p>

<p>Will I be able to continue using Mixamo using FBX, or do I need to start downloading all the BVH files I can before they are gone?</p>

      <description><![CDATA[<p>Since the latest update of DAZ Studio 4.9 pro (4.9.4.122 64bit) I am again and again having problems with the GUI becoming unresponsive. Windows shows me its &quot;I am busy&quot;-cursor. And each time this happens I cann see that one of my 32 processor threads (Dual Xeon, 16 cores, 32 threads) goes to 100%. If this happens it will not get better, if the busy cursor goes away it immediately reappears if I click something in the UI.</p>

<p>I never had this behavior before and I believe this is&nbsp;a bug in the latest version, probably only appearing with my system configuration.</p>

<p>Any ideas what to do about this?</p>

<p>Is it possible to go back a version?<br />

      <description><![CDATA[<p>So one thing that has always bothered me about Iray materials is that they render strangly in my viewport.&nbsp; Surfaces always look plastic and lack details shown with transparency maps.&nbsp; This is especially true of skin, but affects clothes and objects as well.&nbsp; Is there any viewport setting that will make things like skin show up in a more true texture way?&nbsp; The plasticy look of everything makes setting up renders difficult because I&#39;m taking a lot of guesses when things don&#39;t render the way I think they&#39;re going to from what the viewport is giving me.</p>

      <description><![CDATA[<p>It says that DAZ Studio 4.9 is the compatible software.<br />
But when I tried to install it in Studio 4.9.2.70, I got a message that I needed to install the latest version of Studio for it to work.<br />
I was trying to install Decimator 1.7.2.70.<br />
So, is this an updated Decimator that actually is compatible with all versions of DS 4.9, like the product page says?<br />
Or is it the same old same old?<br />
By the time I figured out that I wasn&#39;t going to get it to work, the 30 days had passed.<br />
And no, I&#39;m not installing the latest Studio Shiny. Tried the beta, &#39;nuff said.</p>

<p>Problem is in Poser 10 with not being able to use Morphs to open and close eyes nor brow movements on V4 etc. No issues in Daz 3 or 4.9.</p>

      <description><![CDATA[<p>I love PowerPose with Genesis 8 and&nbsp;it&#39;s so dynamic and fun!</p>

<p>I&#39;m now messing with the in depth Face and I wonder if I can mess with one side of the face and... click something to mirror it?<br />
I know it&#39;s never exactly mirrored in real life, but it&#39;s a better way to start mini tweaks instead of trying every single points.<br />
or is there another way to mirror a Genesis 8 face morph / parameters in one click? (I&#39;m still learning&nbsp;Daz3D)</p>

<p>For poses I&#39;m using&nbsp;the Symmetry for mirroring, so I hope that there is some magical tool or option for the face.</p>

<p>The surface has a &quot;wet&quot; material. However using any overhead light source drowns that out. There is the white circle of the light&#39;s reach visible that floods any &quot;wet effect&quot; the material has going.</p>

<p>Provided light set uses multiple Raytrace light sources in a point light set-up, making render sped atrociously slow.</p>

      <description><![CDATA[<p>Hello! I&#39;m animating a short film using Keymate to copy and repeat a figure and prop sequence. The figure has a few shape morphs that appear and dissapear a few keys in. Copying the keys in Keymate and repeating them works for possitioning but not morphs. Is there a way, in Keymate or even without, to copy and paste those morphs so I can accurately copy and paste my animation down the timeline further? I would prefer to not manually recreate them as this is time consuming. Thanks in advance for the help:)</p>

<p>OOOOkay, so I go to Stonemason (one of the &quot;Premier Artists&quot; that is listed right there) and put a new release of his (&quot;Western streets&quot;) into my cart. &nbsp;Now I *should* get 50% off, what? &nbsp;Something else? &nbsp;So I put an older item of his in there (not a PC+ item) and I still don&#39;t see any discount. &nbsp;WTF? &nbsp;I can understand not getting the 50% off the first one (because it&#39;s a new release, even though the wording of the sale seems to indicate it would be discounted) but the second one should be discounted, right? &nbsp;(Actually, it should be discounted further because if you have TWO items then you get 60% discount). &nbsp;This just doesn&#39;t appear to work (BTW, I AM PC+, but that doesn&#39;t seem to matter as nothing in Stonemason&#39;s catalog is). &nbsp;</p>

<p>I had no problem importing the .obj file into Daz Studio, and after a bit of tinkering, was able to texture the model nicely inside and out with various materials. However, I have a problem - this is a single-mesh object without movable parts. I wanted a model with both parts of the lid able to open and close, but as things stand, the model is what it is, set in its current pose as seen in the promo pictures at the above link. (Good thing I only paid $6 for it!)</p>

<p>There are several other coffin/casket models at Turbosquid with movable or posable lids, but they&#39;re all more expensive than this one, though I am seriously considering getting <a rel="nofollow" href="https://www.turbosquid.com/3d-models/coffin-modelled-lwo/508876">https://www.turbosquid.com/3d-models/coffin-modelled-lwo/508876</a> . So my question is, basically, how do I convert or rig single-mesh objects to have posable/movable parts (in this case, to have lid parts that open and close)? Are there any tutorials online that explain the process? Can this be done in Daz or will I need to use another application?</p>

      <title>Heeled shoes for morphed G8F problem</title>

<p>I am trying to make a heeled shoes for G8F. However i also want them to conform to morphed verson of it. I applied Thin, Weight and Height FBMs.</p>

<p>So i am trying it in this way:</p>

<p>1. Load G8F unmorphed</p>

<p>2. Pose the feet for high heeled shoes - by using the poses dials for Highheeled shoe and Toespread</p>

<p>3. open joint editor and memorize the curent JCM dials</p>

<p>4. then do Bake joint rotations (it zeroed the JCMs)</p>

<p>5. Restore the memorized JCM values</p>

<p>6. Export the G8F as Obj</p>

<p>7. Go to Blender and import G8F obj exported previously and then model the shoes around the feet</p>

<p>8. After finish modeling export the shoes as obj</p>

<p>9. Import the shoes into Daz Studio</p>

<p>10. Start Assets Editor pick G8F as source and my shoes as target and uncheck Fit to figure (it just convert prop to figure)</p>

<p>11. select G8F then the shoes and pick transfer rigging (figure space)</p>

<p>12. Then i fit the shoes to G8F. Here the shoes got deformed since some JCM&nbsp;apply. So i go and zero the shoes JCMs. In this way it fit perfectly with no deformations</p>

<p>So far so good. However here is the problems....</p>

<p>- When i bend the G8F Shin the shoes heel part get out of possition of the X direction so it not fit anymore. However i dont see any JCM sutable so to correct this. What i am doing wrong so to get this strange displacement?</p>

<p>- when i conform the shoes to my morphed version of G8F as i mentioned above (applied Thin, Weight and Height FBMs) the shoes autofollow doesnt work well and shoes get heavily deformed and again out of place (somehow twisted so toes doesnt fit and heels as well). How can i prevent this? Or can i do something to prevent at least that heavy deformation and then to make a correction morph for the displacement?</p>

<p>If someone can help i will appretiate it.</p>

      <description><![CDATA[<p>The white navigation icons in the top righthand of viewport in my D&sect;S are goone and I can&#39;t get them back in place to the viewport as white icons. I did find a tab windows undow the Window - Panes (Tabs) menu called View that has a superset of those icons listed but I can&#39;t figure out how to put them back on the viewport.</p>

<p>Clues?</p>

      <description><![CDATA[<p>genesis 8 female won&#39;t load, i keep getting a message that the .duf file doesn&#39;t exist. it does and it&#39;s right where it belongs. i&#39;m also getting a message that i don&#39;t have a valid&nbsp;postgresql cms connection, i&#39;ve checked the fire wall, ant-virus etc. everything seems fine. no other program is affected and genesis 8 male loads without issue. tech support can&#39;t seem to find the problem. has anyone else had this problem and if so what did you do to fix it.</p>

      <description><![CDATA[<p>I want to crete the look of a piece of glass with a painted backside. Is there a good way to approach this? The first thing I want to do this to are eyeglasses I modeled, so I could assign the painted faces to a new surface, but I&#39;m not sure how Iray will interprolate it if one side of an object is glass and the other is a solid.</p>

      <description><![CDATA[<p>I am attempting to save a morph on G3M that I made.</p>

<p>I am following <a rel="nofollow" href="https://www.daz3d.com/forums/discussion/6483/tutorial-creating-a-genesis-g2f-g2m-g3m-g3m-full-body-morph-for-daz-studio-pro-4-6-by-rkane-1/p1">MY OWN tutorial</a> which has served me well up to this point.</p>

<p>What is strange is, it is having me go through the Adjust Rigging to Shape step and when I click on ERC Freeze, it&#39;s like it amplifies the effect of the adjusted rigging&nbsp;so I have to do the same two steps AGAIN: Adjust Rigging to Shape then ERC Freeze.</p>

<p>Then I click on Save as.... Morph Assets, save them and close out.</p>

<p>I eliminate previous copies from my Morph folder and open it back up, load up G3M, but the morph works BUT the rigging skeleton does not change as it had previously but remains as if never Adjusted to Rigging.</p>

<p>What am I missing?</p>
