<p>After updating RareStones Face Morphs for G8F, a number of morph dials went missing for characters who used the morphs.</p>

<p>As far as I can tell, the files were renamed between the prior version and the current version, and that&#39;s why Daz could not locate the assets.</p>

<ul>
	<li>Looking at the error message, it says I&#39;m missing files like &quot;/morphs/rarestone/rfmc/face length.dsf&quot;.</li>
	<li>Looking at the actual (updated) directory, I have a file called, &quot;/morphs/rarestone/rfmc/RFMC_Face Length.dsf&quot;.</li>
</ul>

<p>If you could avoid renaming files during updates, that would be appreciated.</p>

<p>If this was an intentional renaming, then it would be good to know so that I can fix all the errors that will be popping up whenever I use figures with these morph dials.</p>

<p>If it wasn&#39;t intentional, then I&#39;ll be SOL with that work until everything is renamed to the old naming convention... but I still need to know that so that I don&#39;t work on fixing all the errors only to have it produce more errors in the future when the files are re-renamed.</p>

      <description><![CDATA[<p>Hello!</p>

<p>I&#39;m combining several surfaces into one using the Tool Settings / Geometry Editor.</p>

<p>I&#39;m also fighting with TextureAtlas and a morph at the same time (there seem to be UV changes which I still need to investigate on), and I find myself doing the surface merging procedure over and over again.</p>

<p>I would therefore like to ask if it&#39;s possible to automate the process or save the newly created surface as a preset that I can easily apply to newly loaded characters (all of the same kind, for example, G2F).</p>

<p>I did try to save it using &quot;Save As-&gt;Material Preset&quot;, but it didn&#39;t show up anywhere in my content library, and when I tried to open it (it was saved as a DUF file), DAZ told me there was an error opening it, so I guess I&#39;m doing something substantially wrong.</p>

<p>Also, when I merge the surfaces, my model becomes transparent. Does anybody know why?</p>

      <description><![CDATA[<p>This morning I bought the plugin, installed properly and... It doesn&#39;t work!</p>

<p>After selecting the photo, it says &quot;DAZ model not found&quot; and clicking on the &quot;OK&quot; button it gives me a runtime error sating &quot;Value can&#39;t be Null&quot; and a reference to the image.<br />
This happens with ANY kind of figure, Genesis 1,2 and 3...<br />

What&#39;s happening?</p>

      <description><![CDATA[<p>I want to use photos to create texture maps for my characters, but am unsure how the best way to go about this is. I have a tutorial on using photo references over UV maps in photoshop, and have started doing things this way but have read that you can use Blacksmith 3D to paint the photo directly on the 3D model. Is this just as good as using the photos over the UV&#39;s in photoshop, quality of image wise? It seems like it would make it a lot faster and&nbsp;make seams easier. Any other program or process recommendations?&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;</p>

<p>I can create the texture atlas for G2 for diffuse and specular and bump.</p>

<p>I have seen that G2F has great transluceny maps as well, but for some reason, Texture Atlas doesn&#39;t bake them as it does with the Diffuse map.</p>

<p>Does anybody know why this is so?</p>

<p>Also, there are SS maps for G2F, as I have seen in the directory where the G2F textures reside, but they aren&#39;t baked as well.</p>

      <description><![CDATA[<p>Dear folks,</p>

<p>I just bought (on sale today) the Dystopia Worker Droid or whatever he&#39;s called, and I want to use him in iClone so I export him as FBX and bring into 3DXChange (to convert to iCone)&nbsp;and all works fine... except for his head. &nbsp;Apparently, his head is rigged differently from the rest of his body -- I&#39;m a Daz newbee, but the nearest I could figure is I can&#39;t weight map him because he&#39;s something different. &nbsp;All of his other body parts are fine, and as you move the mouse over them you can see that the whole object is highlighted in yellow (so it&#39;s all mapped, I guess) except for the head. &nbsp;If I could just figure out how to get that head all in yellow I think it would work, but all my tests in things like the joint editor and mapping are failures (it tells me I can&#39;t weight map it because the model is done some other way, and I do NOT want to screw with the rest of the model that works).</p>

<p>I tried remapping the head in Blender but I&#39;m less capable there than even Daz. &nbsp;Before I go to where I&#39;m comfortable (Max, although it&#39;s been decades since I was paid to use it) I was hoping this might be an easy fix here in this program. &nbsp;Anyone have an idea? &nbsp;The Head bone is there, but the head just ain&#39;t weighted enough for it to transfer properly as FBX (it works fine in Daz but no version of FBX has the rigging properly in any other program I can use).</p>

      <description><![CDATA[<p>So, my motherboard on my old laptop failed and I had to replace it with a new on. After getting everything installed and transfered over to the new one I started having some odd issues with trying to open saved scene files. It&#39;s not restricted to newer or older files, 3DS or Iray... it&#39;s a mix of everything that&#39;s getting this.</p>

<p><span>The error I get when I try to open the DS files tells me &quot;</span><span>An error occurred while reading the file, see the log file for more details.&quot;</span><br />

<p>Ok, so what do I need to do, too get rid of the jaggies? What&nbsp;needs to be turned off or on to handle &quot;aliasing&quot; in a render. I am having an issue with some straight (glossy gold texture) edges being stair cased bigtime. It seems to be happening on the reflective edge of the gold texture I am using. Is this a known issue with iRay? Is there a fix? Will I have to paint this out in photoshop?</p>

<p>Gen X is not showing up for me in Daz Studio. Thing is, I bought Gen 4 on Rendrosity then bought the upgrade (Gen X) on here and back then it worked fine. With a new computer, I had to reinstall everything. And now Gen X is not showing up in D/S.</p>

<p>Does anyone know if I need to re-download the Gen 4 Program on Rendrocity first and THEN re-download the Gen X Upgrade here for this to work for me?</p>

      <description><![CDATA[<p>I&#39;ve been having increasing issues with pokethrough with G8M and I think it is related somewhat to HD morphs, but even in t-pose clothing just isn&#39;t applying as smoothly as it did with genesis 3.</p>

<p>The clothing looks fine in preview but upon render it looks bad.</p>

<p>Yes, I can expand the clothing a lot, but the degree of expansion needed to make it go away is pretty high. I also have noticed the problem worsens when I dial in HD morphs. Smoothing doesn&#39;t improve it either.</p>

<p>Any thoughts?</p>

<p>First question is how many images are best for a simple looping giif? &nbsp;Most gif tutorials on the web assume that you have to use whatever images you have handy. &nbsp;None offer advice on the best number of images to create for your gif. &nbsp;Any suggestions?</p>

<p>Second quesion, what size should the images&nbsp;be? &nbsp;I&#39;m not planning to upload these so I just want a size that will provide a decent looking final product on my desktop.</p>

      <description><![CDATA[<p>I used to open multiple instances of studio at the same time.&nbsp; It was great if I was working on multiple characters and a scene.&nbsp; It really added a lot of efficiency to my workflow.&nbsp; For about a month now, when I do this, I start getting windows memory errors.&nbsp; It only seems to happen when DAZ studio is open and doesn&#39;t seem to happen with multiple instances of WoW or other video games running at the same time together.&nbsp; Is this a DAZ error or something else?</p>

<p>Also my file menu in studio is starting to get shuffled around.&nbsp; Save As, open and other commands are arranging themselves differently on the file menu.&nbsp; Do I need to wipe the program off my drive and start over?</p>

<p>I created a face morph from reference images using Facegen then sent it DS, all good and working correctly. BTW I left the morph activated when exporting from DS to Zbrush and only a few minor tweaks to the face were made.</p>

<p>I can&#39;t send it back to DS as a morph only an OBJ. I thought this would be fine but I can&#39;t use the Zbrush created tweak on G3 as it says the geometry is wrong.</p>

      <description><![CDATA[<p>If I switch to nearly any of the wireframe viewport styles there is no wireframe showing up. Just Lit Wireframe give&nbsp;me a wireframe view. If I take Wireframe, Wire Bounding Box, Solid Bounding Box or Hidden Line, nothing shows up in the viewport. If I take&nbsp;&nbsp;Wire Shaded or Wire Texture Shaded, only the shaded part shows up, no wireframe.</p>

<p>Daz Studio 4.9.4.122 Pro 64-Bit on Alienware 17R4 with nvidia 1080 gfx</p>

<p>Any ideas for help?</p>

      <description><![CDATA[<p>1)I am rendering in Iray with an HDRI light dome/scene. A V4 figure comes out slightly out of focus. I do not have depth of field turned on. Happens with other figures too, but the V4 seemed a little worse.</p>

<p>2)When I use most of my HDRI dome light/scene rigs I can&#39;t &#39;see&#39; the features in the dome when I complse, only after rendering. Say, for example, I set a Gen 3 figure in a dome scene. All I can see is the Gen 3, until it is rendered. I use texture shaded to compose. I tried &#39;NVidea I Ray&#39; but that only made the Gen 3 go grey, the details of the dome did not show up. I have Render Settings&gt;Environment&gt;Dome&gt;Draw Dome unchecked or checked, same result either way.</p>

<p>Ideas wold be appreciated. Please, keep the response non-techy, I have no idea in many of these forums what people are talking about. I am a longtime DAZ user, but &#39;I just drive it, I never look under the hood&#39;-LOL. <img alt="wink" src="https://www.daz3d.com/forums/plugins/ckeditor/js/ckeditor/plugins/smiley/images/wink_smile.png" title="wink" /></p>

      <description><![CDATA[<p>I just bought <a rel="nofollow" href="https://www.daz3d.com/mage-tower-iray-accessories">Mage Tower Iray Accessories</a>, and I can&#39;t seem to locate the new textures.&nbsp; I already own the older version of Mage Tower with all the accessory packs.</p>

<p>I also bought the Mage Tower Iray expansion.&nbsp; The old version of Mage Tower is in a folder, and there is a new folder with Mage Tower Iray.&nbsp; I expected to find the new Iray Accessories in a separate folder, too.&nbsp; I looked in Smart Content, and in the old accessory packs for the new Iray textures and couldn&#39;t find them.</p>

<p>Any idea where they might be?</p>

      <description><![CDATA[<p>So i have my own, full-body, blender-sculpted morph for G8F. I load it with no problems, but then i Save it As &gt; Support Asset &gt; Morph Asset, fill in the poping window, press ok... and nothing really happens. I cant find no dial for it, and i dont know where the .duf (dsf?) file was saved, if saved it was at all. The documentation for this is as arcane, outdated and incomplete as usual.</p>

<p>This gonna be a part of my first character, comes with &nbsp;an outfit and materials and all, and id like to zip it all nicely as a freebie. We are almost there. Gotta say im finding more difficult to pack the damn stuff&nbsp;than actually making it in Blender.</p>

      <description><![CDATA[<p>Coming from Blender, this seems like it should be a fairly easy thing to do, but I&#39;m stumped on how to even start. I want to feed a Fresnel value into the Cutout Opacity strength, so that the shader is visible at the edge but invisible when facing the camera. If it matters, I want this to be purely emissive &ndash; what I&#39;m after is an edge glow. Can someone point me at documentation or something on how to even attempt this?</p>

      <description><![CDATA[<p>This morning, I was puzzled to see these black bars when starting DAZ Studio. I received a Windows Update last night, and am going to be pretty quick to blame that, but wanted to check here just in case. The display port looks normal sometimes when I hover over the View Cube, but they come back when I move the mouse a little, or off the View Cube.</p>

<p>Install Manager cannot find a required path.The package for &quot;Photoshop 3D Bridge for DAZ Studio 4.9+ requires that the installed path for &quot;Photoshop CC, CS4, CS5, CS4 (64-bit) &quot; be defined. Make sure that a path for this application is present on the &quot;applications &quot; page of the &quot;Settings&quot; dialog, then try again.</p>

      <description><![CDATA[<p>Hi there, does anybody know Cybertenko&acute;s Tommy Atkins clothing set as a Daz user? I purchased the set in it&acute;s basic version and was fully satisfied, everything was conforming well. Then I got the upgrade version but had problems with the shirt: when selecting the M4 and loading the shirt, it somehow wraps around Michael&acute;s head. Any ideas how to fix this? Did anybody see same problems? Or does it conform properly at yours and the problem is a particular matter of my system?</p>

      <description><![CDATA[<p>I&#39;ve been using DAZ Studio for several years - used to use Poser.<br />
<br />
Up until Studio 4.9 I knew how to install 3rd party Poser files - I have a lot of props and architecture&nbsp;from Renderosity, for example. &nbsp;But now when I do what seems the logical thing, I can&#39;t find the items in D/S.<br />

Can anyone instruct me on this, please?<br />

      <description><![CDATA[<p>I&#39;m having a big problem loading over-written files, which seems to have started recently.</p>

<p>&nbsp;</p>

<p>I tend to use DAZ to create sequential artwork and mini-stories, so that I&#39;ll render a scene, reposition the figures, render again and so on, sometimes loading a new figure or prop as I go. Obviously, larger scenes take more time to load, but normally it&#39;s no more than ten minutes.</p>

<p>Recently, within a month or so, I&#39;ve started to find that loading a scene where figures have been posed, rendered, re-posed and re-rendered, takes much longer- sometimes up to three hours- even for a scene with one or two figures. In fact, saving one single figure, having deleted all other figures, props, lights and cameras, still leads to one or two hour-long load times. In contrast, a figure saved only once can be loaded less than a minute.</p>

<p>I&#39;ve been using DAZ for about ten years now, and while I&#39;ve had slow loads on large scenes, I&#39;ve never had such long loading times on what are often quite simple scenes. I&#39;m wondering if it&#39;s to do with the save file becoming corrupted or damaged in some way, and I&#39;m wondering if there&#39;s a way to fix it. I&#39;ve re-installed DAZ to check that I&#39;m on the latest version. I&#39;m using a new-ish computer as well, only 8 months old, so I&#39;m hoping the problem lies with DAZ.</p>

<p>Is this a common issue? Has anyone else experienced it? Are there any tips for dealing with it, because this is really starting to slow down my work-flow.</p>

      <description><![CDATA[<p>I have downloaded the latest version of LAMH catalyser. The problem with the freezing seems to be solved. But there are still issues. When loaded the catlayser plug in refuses to find catalyser items in scenes I&#39;ve already prepared. I&#39;ve noted that the plug in doesn&#39;t sit well when you have grouped items in your scene. The animal fur is the one premade by LAMH and I managed to render the scene with the earlier version of the catalyser plug in.</p>
