      <title>Some Morph is distorting my G3 female's body - but I cannot identify it (Solved)</title>

      <description><![CDATA[<p>Hi - I am struggling with a very strange problem.</p>

<p>Since a few days my Genesis 3 females have a changed geometry in their body (the head/face is unchanged/o.k.) which could be described as &quot;ti...&amp; a... enhancement&quot; - sorry, I meaned &quot;enhancements&quot; in the chest/breast/cleavage and the glutes area. If you look at the screenshots you see what I mean - here the modification looks rather subtile, but when it&#39;s rendered and on figures which have already own modifications in this areas it&#39;s really messing the body.</p>

<p>So of course that&#39;s some morph which is responsible for the change. So far, so good. I am not really a beginner with Daz3D and know the problem f.e. from the &quot;warrier princess&quot; morph for G2... So of course my first look was the &quot;Currently used&quot; tab, but there is nothing shown what could be responsible - of course I have activated &quot;show hidden properties&quot;.</p>

<p>To make the case more complicated: I have a very, very, very large content library, which has historically grown over years, so I have it on three different SSD devices to have better access performance. (In spite of this fact loading a scene or new figure takes a huge amount of time, because I have so many figures/morphs, including the transferred morphs from GenX - and of course I have all the &quot;duplicate formula found&quot; and error messages in my log which you ever could hope for - it&#39;s impossible to post it here...). I have a &quot;My Library&quot;, a &quot;My Library 2&quot; and a &quot;My Library 3&quot; database on different SSDs, and fortunately/of course I have a backup on a harddisk.</p>

<p>It&#39;s obvious - there is some morph that&#39;s responsible for the distortion - and that must be a morph in a product I have recently installed. Unfortunately since the last backup I had installed a lot of products - from Daz3D, but also from other sources - it would be a horrible work to restore the backup and then install each product step for step again and to check everytime whether G3 loads correctly.</p>

<p>I found that the problem must be in &quot;My Library 3&quot; - if I load the backup version in the Content Directory Manager; instead of the actual/current version, the G3 female loads without distortion. Of course I thought it would be easy to identify the responsible morph now. I deleted/moved all files in the My Library 3\data\daz 3D\genesis 3\female\morphs\ folder which had been changed/newly installed since my last rendered picture without the distortion - but no success. I compared the logs loading the undistorted G3 via the distorted one - no difference!! The only interesting difference: In the cache folder there is a &quot;female.cache.dsf&quot; - with the backup library it has a size of 376.083 KB, with the current and spoiled library it has a size of 381.093 KB. So I guess the difference is the &quot;evil&quot; morph - I tried to compare the two files with &quot;Winmerge&quot; - but it told me &quot;Not enough memory&quot;. I have 32 GB installed... WTF? So for now I am rather p.o.; pointless - is there no way to identify the &quot;evil&quot; morph ? Are there any other folders where morphs could have an interference with the G3 default figure? Is it possible that another newly installed product in my other libraries could cause the effect by an interference with &quot;My Library 3&quot;?</p>

      <description><![CDATA[<p>Hi,<br />
I have been importing animations into DAZ and then rendering them in iRay for a while now, since DAZ is not really suited for creating complex animations.</p>

<p>My workflow is to create the animation in a third party application, and then import it as an FBX into DAZ. I then save it as a pose preset, instead of dealing with any BVH export/import issues.<br />
Applying that preset then to any G3 character is working very well.</p>

<p>However, I&#39;ve now run into a scaling issue when applying a pose preset.<br />
2 characters in the scene, one is a bit taller than the other. When I apply the pose presets to the characters, the shorter characters animation is scaled, compared to the full size character.<br />
I have fuzzed with this for a while now and haven&#39;t been able to fix this problem. The animation was created with the correct hight of the figures. One is 100% in size, the other is 84% in size.</p>

<p>When I import the FBX into DAZ, the bones of the 2 figures animate correctly. The little clip shows how the bounding boxes of the skeletons move in unison after import into DAZ.<br />
The 2nd half of the clip shows the pose presets applied to G3M (to keep it simple). The taller figure now outruns the shorter one.</p>

<p>Does anyone here know how to fix this? I&#39;ve even tried BVH export and re-import in DAZ, but the animation scaling remains. Disabling the &quot;Scale Translation&quot; settings in BVH didn&#39;t fix the problem either.<br />
If I scale up the shorter figure to 100%, the both animations are matched again.</p>

<p>Any ideas, please?</p>

      <description><![CDATA[If I enable SSS on teeth as is the option on some characters they never render correctly, the length of the render doubles but all I get is very grainy ugly and almost transparent teeth. It's the only thing that changes between renders.

I'm running Windows 10 64bit on i7 4770k with 32gb ram and 1080ti,  with latest Daz in 64bit although this has been an issue for a while

      <description><![CDATA[<p>When applying any of the default poses to the<a rel="nofollow" href="https://www.daz3d.com/horror-from-the-deep"> Horror from the Deep</a> character, the character textures get reset to the default.&nbsp;</p>

<p>So I need to resave all the poses, the problem is that the rigging of the figure is different than what I&#39;m used to.</p>

<p>Normally when I save a pose for Gen3, Gen2 etc. I uncheck everything in the pose settings, then check only &quot;all rotations&quot;, and then on the hip bone, check translate &quot;y&quot; only.</p>

<p>But the top level bone on this creature is the chest, not the hip.</p>

<p>So should I check translate &quot;Y&quot; on the chest, and not the hip in this case? Or should I always use the hip as I do with other figures?</p>

      <description><![CDATA[<p>After downloading Lip Sync, I had to download the 32-bit (4.9) version to get the Lip Sync pane to appear (it won&#39;t appear in 64-bit 4.9)</p>

<p>Then I downloaded and installed Mimic, which runs in 64-bit.</p>

<p>But the control for opening Mimic appears only on the 32-bit Lip Sync pane, which whill not appear in the 64-bit version.</p>

<p>So how do I open Mimic?</p>

<p>At which point what I save is separate and the morph asset doesn&#39;t apply to the MilDog figure.</p>

      <description><![CDATA[<p>I have a belt that was designed for Poser. When I load it into DAZ the morphs to change the size of the belt are broken. I.E. the sliders move, but nothing happens.&nbsp; Years ago, I saw a fix for this with a freebie tool on the web that I believe edited the .pp2 file. (Sadly I didn&#39;t bookmark it or save it to a backup HDD)</p>

<p>Does anyone know the name or link to this program? Is there another way to &#39;fix&#39; broken morphs loaded via pp2 files?</p>

      <description><![CDATA[<p>Im having trouble loading morphs for G8 from Blender.</p>

<p>i export G8 (no eyelashes, res base, sudivision 0) as an obj, edit on blender, reimport via morphLoadPro. and though mrphLoaderPro claims &quot;morph was successfully loaded&quot;&nbsp;(so polycount must be alright), when i hit the dial i&#39;m getting SPICKY NIGHTMARES! yaargh!</p>

<p>I&#39;ve been trying different export options. Blender ---&gt; Daz should be fine (it&#39;s a saved and tested preset), so i guess the trouble is in Daz ---&gt; Blender. Optimal specs there, anybody?Or maybe is something entirely different that im just not seeing. Any idea welcome!</p>

      <description><![CDATA[<p>Do you need multiple GPU cards connected via DSLI for iray to leverage them, or will it suffice to just have two Nvidia cards in your motherboard?&nbsp;<br />

​During render, you can check your GPU or your CPU or both... it seems that you should be able to just do the same thing with checking multiple GPU cards... it is the same idea as a server farm with GPUs that are virtually shared, right, except instead of a GPU rendering farm this would be multiple non SLI cards in one machine?&nbsp;<br />

​I mean, isn&#39;t that the basic concept of how bitcoin mining works? It isn&#39;t that the GPUs all talk to one another... it is that they all go into a virtual pool of GPU cycles that the software can utilize?&nbsp;</p>

      <description><![CDATA[<p>I manually installed some models from renderosity, and screwed it up. &nbsp;Daz could load the model, but couldn&#39;t find the texture. I accidentally&nbsp;clicked don&#39;t ask me again. &nbsp;How do I get that location dialogue to pop up again so I can point daz in the correct direction?</p>

      <description><![CDATA[<p>I&#39;m using the transfer utility to make head prop attachments which works fine except parts of the props either cover or hang in front of the eyes and are distorted when the eyes open or close. Is there a way to exclude attachments from some articulation so they behave more rigidly - I&#39;ve tried transfer the rigging to the prop with the figures pose set to default and as current (with the eyes closed) - both seem to have the problem</p>

      <description><![CDATA[<p>I just ran the latest update to 4.9.2</p>

<p>Everytime I open it, it runs exceedingly slow and hangs on a screen saying updating CMS. It opens in about 3-5 minutes later.</p>

<p>What can I do to make it stop updating cms? Shouldn&#39;t it do that only once and stop?</p>

<p>I installed it via DIM. I have windows 8. It does eventually open, but this is seriously long loading lag.</p>

      <description><![CDATA[<p>does anyone else have victoria 4.2 in daz 4.9? and if so does it work? I have tryed everything and mine simply will not show up, it&#39;s in the list, but simply a box with a triangle in it, says file not found. Ive reset everrythong, reinstalled several different times, and even redownloaded it and installed it again, it just doesnt exist apparently.&nbsp;</p>

<p>Has anyone else came across this and knows what to do? I bought some content based on victoria 4.2 base, and i cant use any of it.</p>

      <description><![CDATA[<p>The advantage of converting a character into a standalone is that it&#39;s much lighter on the scene. You can remove the geometry that&#39;s not visible and the morphs you don&#39;t need and pack-up textures. So to get a single optimized standalone figure from character + hair + clothing + items.</p>

<p>I already do this in Blender since I mainly use DS as a content generator for Blender. But I&#39;m just wondering if it&#39;s possible to get a similar result right inside DS. I had&nbsp;some success by saving as obj and importing back but I&#39;m wondering if anyone has some experience with this. Basically my procedure is as follows.</p>

<p>- save character and needed morphs as obj<br />
- import back the character and use the transfer utility to get a figure<br />
- import back the morphs using the morph loader tool<br />
- pack-up textures with the texture atlas tool</p>

      <description><![CDATA[<p>So I have ab object file (it&#39;s a spaceship). It has a threee color variations and a bunch of texture files.....</p>

<p>They are....</p>

<p><strong>Emissive</strong>....</p>

<p><strong>Metallic Smoothness</strong></p>

<p><strong>Normal.</strong>...</p>

<p>The color variations, when loaded into the &quot;Diffuse Color&quot; of the surfaces tab, gets the ship its SKIN, if you will....looks great...yay...</p>

<p>Normal, <em>went in normal map.</em>.....</p>

<p>Metallic Smoothness....I put somewhere.....</p>

<p>BUT! Where does the <em>Emissive Texture</em> go?</p>

<p>There is no &#39;emissive menu option&quot; ---- to set&nbsp;it I have to activate a Shader and THAT turns the whole ship into whatever shader I pick and it loses the skin.</p>

<p>It&#39;s not iray.....so I&#39;m looking at where to put that emissive texture map so that the ship has the fake glowing details.....or maybe they are real lights once I get them working....</p>

<p>I have been diving through the Surfaces Tab and there is currently nothing using the word <em><strong>Emissive</strong></em>.....</p>

<p>All my Google searches turns up iray solutions....</p>

<p>The emissive texture map looks completely black- with little dots of color and markings....</p>

<p>any ideas?</p>
