      <description><![CDATA[<p>Hello All,</p>

<p>I&#39;ve tried to convert the DSON files for Centaur 7 for Genesis 3 Male to Poser, but not having any success. The shell loads into poser but one does not have an option to load materials (the shell is seemingly not selectable). I&#39;ve done the following steps (DS 4.9):</p>

<p>selected shell and Genesis 3 Centaur Figure, edited rigging from General to TriAx Weight</p>

<p>saved figure as Scene Subset</p>

<p>Selected new scene subset in DSON library and created Poser Companion Files (figure cr2)</p>

<p>Here&#39;s the result in Poser (see attachment)</p>

<p>Any guidance would be greatly appreciated. Or if anyone know where I can get readymade Poser files for Centaur 7 for Genesis 3 Male, that would be preferable.</p>

      <description><![CDATA[<p>Hi. &nbsp;So I have had to re-install everything since my HDD failed and I lost everything. &nbsp;I used DIM, luckily I didn&#39;t have to re-download everything since that was all on a different drive. &nbsp;On first opening of the Application I noticed that I had 1600+ items out of over 4000+ items in my Lost and Found. &nbsp;Many (like over half of these items) are missing the product image thumbnails. &nbsp;What the heck is happening here?</p>

<p>Would resetting the DB and Re-importing Meta fix this?</p>

      <description><![CDATA[<p>As seen in the attached pictures, I am attempting to (learn how) to add emissive lights to scenes.</p>

<p>What are the steps to make a new primitive emit light and cause the other primitive- the sphere- to glow?</p>

<p>(I was using Iray, can it be done in 3d-delight?)</p>

<p>I was able to add a shader to both, but could not get the pane to light the sphere.&nbsp;</p>

<p>(Also, I am not sure how to darken the scene, so as to better see it.)</p>

      <description><![CDATA[<p>Hi...uhm... basically the title had said almost everything.<br />
I own&nbsp;a copy of <strong>C4d R15</strong> and I love modelling. But sometime I&#39;d like import my works on <strong>DAZ</strong>.<br />
<br />
So I export a <strong>FBX</strong> file <em>without any material </em>and import in DAZ and...<br />
Well, you can see it in the pic.<br />
There isn&#39;t anything. Absolutely nothing.<br />
There is something, but it&#39;s like a ghost: I see that when I pass on&nbsp;it with the cursor, but I can&#39;t do anything.<br />
This isn&#39;t a problem for simple object... I can using OBJ files, but... for complex scene I need FBX, because in this way I can have separated objects...</p>

<p>What I did wrong? There are settings I have to change for a good export?</p>

      <description><![CDATA[<p>I&#39;m in need of some serious help.</p>

<p>I&#39;ve been using DS for a while now, and I&#39;m kinda over my renders taking too long. &nbsp;So I got a Auros GeForce 1070GTX Gaming Box. &nbsp;My Macbook Pro is a 13&quot;&nbsp;Late 2015 Retina with a 2.9 Ghz i5.</p>

<p>I went through a few steps to get the Nvidia Driver to work, and it does. &nbsp;But Renders are still taking about 2 hours for a 1700 iteration image at 1920x1080.. &nbsp;I was hoping for something like 5000 iterations in an hour or so. &nbsp;Shoot I&#39;d be happy with 5000 in 2 hours.</p>

<p>I keep my Render Settings at Qaulity 1.00 and Rendering Conv Ratio at 95%. &nbsp;</p>

<p>Also is DS supposed to see my Gaming Box in the Advance tab in Render Settings? &nbsp;I see that CPU is checked.. but there&#39;s no eGPU box or anything else.</p>

<p>Does anyone have any tips for a speedier Render? &nbsp;</p>

<p>Could it be that the Auros is not &quot;Nvidia&quot;? &nbsp;</p>

<p>ANY HELP WHATSOEVER WOULD BE HUGE.</p>

<p>UPDATE:</p>

<p>Ok. &nbsp;So NOW, it&#39;s not even readingt the card.. I&#39;m at 185 iterations after 1 Hour.. SHOOT ME ALREADY!!</p>

      <description><![CDATA[<p>So, I bought Vanilla Sky sss standalone and the add ons shades of vanilla sky and VS face shop.&nbsp; And when everything is installed, and I go into pose [I&#39;m using PoserPro14] I get one body shape injection and NO mat poses.&nbsp; So I go into material room to look for textures to add manually and I get .... the PNG of what the shades of are supposed to look like, and a page called &#39;poser content&#39; which certainly isn&#39;t a mat, and which crashes the computer if I try to open it.</p>

<p>Obviously there is some strange and arcane trick to installing this product.&nbsp; Please let me in on the secret.</p>

      <description><![CDATA[I have a scene I needed to render in iray that is too big for my 1080ti, I need to split it into layers or sections but there are overlapping elements front to back with a ground plane that if I don't include makes the shadows cast for some objects look weird. To top it off there is an atmospheric haze effect across the whole image.

If I render the objects and characters without the background the lighting changes noticeably as it also does without the haze.

Any help would be great, I've also heard about canvases but can't find a guide other than for lighting.

<p>Ive got a scene with 6 characters, with a (very) simple background, three lights and Daz doesnt want to start rendering. I get there must be a lot to deal with as in the history pane I get the &#39;VERBOSE&#39; lines when it starts.</p>

<p>&#39;Iray VERBOSE - module:category(IRAY:RENDER):&nbsp;&nbsp; 1.3&nbsp;&nbsp; IRAY&nbsp;&nbsp; rend stat : Geometry memory consumption: 1.41303 GiB (device 0), 0 B (host)&#39; etc</p>

<p>After about 30mins, I start getting messages about low memory from Windows. Im running;</p>

<p>i7 4790k, Titan X/12gb VRAM, 16gb RAM. Looking at task manager while this is going on and my system in nowhere near topping out.</p>

<p>Thought it might be a driver issue, but updated and no change. Also worth pointing out is that GPUz doesnt even show the GPU taking any load at all (1%) - yes I have GPU selected/CPU deselected in the render pane.</p>

<p>Any thoughts? Surely this shouldnt be an issue? (nothing else is running at the same time also).</p>

So I applied a light and adjusted its proximity to my scene just like it says to do, which it claims is similar to DS, and is. HOWEVER the light being cast in my render does not change at all. It actually is not responding to any control changes. I tested by changing the light color to red and nothing. It doesnt say that the product requires any other packages etc. Help! ...Please.</p>

<p>I&#39;m trying to turn off shadow in Iray. As I read on the forum, if I use Interactive mode instead of Photoreal, I can turn off the shadow. I turned it off in Render Settings -&gt; Shadow and Lightings, but in my render I still see the shadows.</p>

<p>I don&#39;t have any lights in the scene except for the &quot;Default light&quot;, I think it is sun sky?. I&#39;m sorry I&#39;m new to daz studio.</p>

<p>Here&#39;s my setting, please help.</p>

      <title>Morphs &amp; Genesis: On Coding Level; Workaround/Fix Found</title>

<p>This is not a request for help about how to create morphs, or even what avenues one may take to create them.  I need help in line with the equivalent of CR2 coding, and placement of MT's within Genesis file structure itself.  I guess this would be the DSON file structure.</p>

<p>I am well versed in the world of CR2's, and all the coding manipulation all the way through to Gen4 figures, but the new DSON/Genesis format is kicking my azz in regards to how some things work.</p>

O.k., here goes...  Ultimately I need to know exactly how does Genesis digest, and link created morph targets.  I am experiencing some unwanted anomalies which may not even be that, but just illegal linkage due to my lack of understanding of Genesis' core code.</p>

<p>First, no, I do not need help with where in DS's file structure to place morphs, so please don't add links to amateur tutorials on how to do this.  No need...</p>

<p>I am going to use millighost's great Genesis morphing suite for Blender as a for example.</p>

<p>The code structure for the created .dsf file is a little different from others (DAZ, FaceGen, etc.), but has all necessary code to create a viable morph target.  As an aside;  From what I see, all vertex displacement data is within the DSF file, so I can't fathom there is any "invisible" code linking to any hidden asset files anywhere.  It seems the DSF morph target files are self contained.</p>

<p>So, the issue I am having has to do with both changing the morph target location within the DS/Genesis Parameters node tree (Universal, Head, Actor, etc.), and MT linking with Genesis failing, creating unusable null and void parameter sliders.</p>

<p>Millighost's .dsf exporter defaults to setting a morph target in Universal.  Even if it is a compound MT based off a previously created MT which already had a dedicated parameter location.  So, I edit the DSF file to relocate the MT where I want it on the node tree.  This works fine, and is not the inherit issue.</p>

<p>O.k., here is where the issue starts, and my confusion on just how the MT's link to Genesis.  Let's say I want to keep the created MT in the default "Universal" location, but I also want to add it to "Actor/Head/Universal".  If I edit the code to reflect the new location, AND even give it a modified name (changed throughout the DSF file as well) it will null and void the first MT (Universal location).  Even more so, if I decide I don't like the Universal location being null and void, and delete (or remove) the newly edited MT/location, this does not reinstate the first MT (Universal).</p>

<p>There are no longer two of the exact same MT's (with different names) stored in the DS file stucture, but it seems only the newer saved one is "live", and if I put it back into the DS file stucture it appears back in the morphs list, and works again.  However, the original first morph remains dead.  Now, if I re-save the original MT from Blender overwriting the first it reinstates that morph again, and null and voids the second edited one with a different name/location.</p>

<p>So, my underlying question is, why is this?</p>

<p>How is Genesis assessing, and linking to the individual morphs?</p>

<p>Is there some hidden data protocol that is overwritten each time you save a newer version of the same set of vertex displacement data regardless if identifiers have been changed?  You can't have the exact same morph, yet named different; Head1, Head2, Head3, etc.</p>

<p>It's just not possible to have duplicate locations for the exact same mesh data (even with different names)?  If so, why?</p>

<p>How exactly is Genesis linking these DSF morph files?  The only difference I see in any of the DSF files I have studied (besides how an author created the structure) is in the "parent id" reference.  It seems it could be either "#Genesis", or "#geometry" without any difference (they both work).</p>

<p>Any help from the masters would be greatly appreciated, and I'm sure this would be a good learning example for a lot of other people as well.  I can't believe I am the only one who has encountered this, or is interested in knowing this for future work.</p>

      <description><![CDATA[Bare with me here.

I know that when the GPU runs out of memory the work is shunted to the CPU, however what is the limiting factor for that memory? Is it the geometry only, Texture only or a combination of both?

I started a render last night that got booted to the CPU but something went wrong and it crashed. Started again and it stayed on the Gpu geometry was 1.6gb but textures were 35gb. So where is the trigger point for iray to boot to CPU and what caused it to happen the first time but not the second time? ]]></description>

      <description><![CDATA[<p>Hi,</p>

<p>I want to render a lot of pictures like in the image below. Currently I do that by set the Cutout Opacity of the surface of the ceiling to 0. However, I notice that in some sets for example the Brooklyn Apartment, the ceiling surface is also the walls surface, so I would also set the wall opacity to 0 too.&nbsp;</p>

<p>Is there a better way to do that?</p>

<p>At 2:56 min in it say&#39;s to change the 16x9 aspect ratio -1920 x 1280 by 50% larger so that after rendered you can scale it down by 50%. So, he say&#39;s 1920 becomes 2730. Huh? &nbsp;How do you arrive at that? (map reading is where I excelled on the Iowa Test Scores)</p>
