      <description><![CDATA[<p>Can a Character created in DazStudio be converted to an OBJ file that would open in Kotobee-Author software?&nbsp; (which has an option to load 3d OBJ files in interactive ebooks)</p>

<p>I haven&#39;t located any information that suggests that a .duf file can be converted to OBJ, so I&#39;m trying to establish if one can or not.</p>

<p>It would be nice to be able to use some of my DazStudio content in Kotobee Author&#39;s 3d panel.</p>

<p>I&#39;m guessing...that isn&#39;t possible?</p>

      <description><![CDATA[<p>I upgraded to Daz 4.10, and autofit on loading of a clothing item is crashing DS continually during the import of old items through the API.&nbsp; See image, and log below.</p>

<p>In the dialog it gets to the point where it reads &quot;Normalizing Weight maps&quot; and dies.</p>

<p>It all seems to work fine, if I cancel out of Autofit, and then autofit after the object loads, but as we all know, if you have the figure selected, it will try, and a crash destroying the work I was doing is a real pain!</p>

<p>I would love to provide more info, if anyone needs it.&nbsp; Reproducible on almost any item I have.&nbsp; Posting here in case anyone is seeing similar, or if anyone has ideas?</p>

<p>Also, is there a way to disable the autofit trying to automatically auto-fit on load?</p>

      <description><![CDATA[<p>I&#39;m having trouble using black tattoos on Bethany 7.&nbsp; The tattoos look perfect when viewed with texture shading, but when rendered the blacks fade to a more faint, dusty red.&nbsp; I have tried applying the tattoo directly to the skin materials, and also as an LIE layer.&nbsp; Both of these techniques work perfectly for me on the standard G3F, but on Bethany 7 the tattoos fade when rendered.&nbsp; I can&#39;t figure out what is happening.&nbsp;</p>

<p>Any ideas?</p>

<p>Hello-</p>

<p>First, I hope this is the correct area to post my issue. I&rsquo;ve been away from 3D render for three years. Just got burned out, now, back at it.</p>

<p>As I try to get caught up with new version of things, I&rsquo;ve ran a cross a problem. I was attempting to place M4 Gen with Jepes M4 Real Gens on Genesis. Apparently, the two can not be paired together? The DAZ program has two popups and freezes. Also, I see that, Jepe&rsquo;s M4 Real Gens, no longer work on M4. Shaping still works but, NO texture or color mapping. Channing, use to have a gen set too, I thought. Can&rsquo;t locate it anymore.</p>

<p>So my questions are, am I doing something wrong in pairing OR, are there any gen sets out there, that would be comparable to Jepe&rsquo;s?</p>

<p>Before anyone asks, YES, I have posted on the Renderosity site, as well as emailed from the Poseraddicts and directly to Jepe&rsquo;s. That was a week ago, with no responses. It&rsquo;s like no one responds anymore.</p>

      <description><![CDATA[<p>I did something yesterday to the universal tool in DAZ. I now only see the scale and rotate functions. The transpose arrows are now completely gone. I&#39;m sure this is something ridiculously easy to fix, but I cannot find a way to fix this one. Please Help!!! I can still do everything via parameters, but that really takes longer when trying to move items around the scene.</p>

      <description><![CDATA[<p>Okay, I have a small object in front of another larger object, in a dim room.&nbsp; Both objects are similar enough in color (sort of a dark brown) that the smaller object is kinda disappearing against the larger object.&nbsp; I hit upon the solution of pointing a small spotlight at the smaller, closer object, and then adjusting the light cone (as seen by its prop adjustment imagery in the Viewport)&nbsp;so it ends a tiny, tiny distance past the smaller object, that way the smaller object now has a small amount of extra light shining on it, so that it &quot;pops&quot; a bit more noticibly agaist the background formed by that other, larger object.&nbsp; My understanding of the significance of the visibly-shown end of that light-cone-object in the Viewport (that causes the cone-shape symbol thingy&nbsp;to shrink shorter&nbsp;in Viewport when you dial Display, Scene View, Light Cone, Ray Langth down) was that the light would propogate out to the distance that that symbolic reresentation of the cone size and shape in Viewport.... and then simply STOP COLD the instant it got that distance out, as if the beam of light had slammed into an invisible barrier.</p>

<p>But.... I&#39;m seeing a shadow applied onto the larger object, which is clearly shaped like the object I&#39;m trying to light up.&nbsp; It is spoiling the shot I&#39;m trying to make. I&#39;ve dialed the light cone back, visibly, to <em>well shy of</em>&nbsp;the object I&#39;m trying to light up contrastingly... and I&#39;m STILL seeing the shadow of it on that other prop.&nbsp; Am I missing something?&nbsp; I thought the entire idea behind the Ray Length slider was to adjust what zone-of-distance you wanted the light to be in, so that you could place an object inside that ZONE, and have the light exist ONLY inside that zone and to&nbsp;not continue one iota past&nbsp;that zone.&nbsp; oO</p>

      <description><![CDATA[<p>I&#39;m having problems with Daz. When I use the Content Library Search Bar. It automaticly crashes. When I save as Support Asset. It automaticly crashes. When I export object files, the program crashes.</p>

<p>When I load Daz, half the time my content Library will gltich out, and go backwards instead of forwards and then my Library disappears. I have to exit the program to refresh the Library Tree.</p>

<p>I&#39;m using Daz 4.1 but it was also doing this on 4.9... Anyone have an idea?</p>

      <description><![CDATA[<p>Well OK, two or three clicks is OK too.....</p>

<p>Is there a simple method within DS of saving a (clothing) pose created by adding a magnet(s), as a morph?&nbsp;Poser has a simple &quot;Spawn as Morph&quot; function, surely DS has something similar without having to export objects (remembering to make everything else invisible first and then making it visible again after applying the object using MorphLoaderPro) and also having to deal with mesh resolutions and changes caused by the fact that the clothing was conformed to a morphed or scaled figure... blah blah complex annoying blah blah.....</p>

<p>Surely there is a simple process without needing to go outside DS of just saying &quot;OK, that looks like I want it... now save it as a morph so I&nbsp;can delete all the magnets. Click, done!&quot;</p>

      <description><![CDATA[<p>A little background first, I have been using Daz since v3.2, on a couple of different computers with my content on a seperate drive. I just got a new computer running Windows 10 and plugged in my additional drive (E:). I installed DAZ Studio and changed the Content Database to the content on (E:).</p>

<p>Opened the content library tab, navigated to the desired figure, double clicked it ... a blocky figure shows up and a dialog box stating that my files could not be located. Funny thing is I could easily navagate to them in file exlporer.</p>

<p>Lost and bewildered; I uninstalled DAZ and reinstalled it (several times), double checking my settings so content would not be installed in the default My Library directory. Read forum posts hoping for a solution. Double checked permissions incase that was the issue, even uninstalled/reinstalled CMS incase there was an issue there.</p>

<p>This morning I wondered &quot;Where is Daz looking for content?&quot;. I set up the default folder in Documents and copied the base figure files to it. Opened DAZ clicked on the base figure; low and behold I had an actual human figure, but that is not where the figure is mapped to, it&#39;s mapped to (E:) drive but reading the files off of the (C:) drive. Same with clothing and textures.</p>

<p>Yes, I did right click on the items in question and click on &quot;show file location&quot; to show where it is located.</p>

<p>Looks like DAZ has decided to use the default location for my files but, I don&#39;t want to move my files to the C: drive. I am running DAZ 4.9, have not updated to 4.10.</p>

<p>Anyone have a suggestion on what to do or setting to change.</p>

      <description><![CDATA[<p>Okay, I have two issues I&#39;m sorta fighting with right now.&nbsp; I have a series of renders I&#39;m doing, across a handful of different sets, and when going to a new set and making&nbsp;new camaras on it, sometimes they come out a different image size than in the previous rendered scene sets.&nbsp; For instance, I have one set of images that are 1002&nbsp;by 861, but the cameras I make in another scene and set come out as 1000&nbsp;by 769.&nbsp; Ideally I want to change the ones in the latter situation to match the picture size of the former.&nbsp; I went into one of those scenes and tried making a new camera, following the same steps and selected options as I&#39;d done on the other scene, where I&#39;d gotten the larger picture-size out, and I then manually changed the XYZ position and XYZ rotation of that camera to the same as the old camera in the second scene.... and it looks like nothing changed in the size of the identified camera rectangle in the Render&nbsp;pane.</p>

<p>The other problem I ran into is when I got tired of twiddling with that, and decided to just SAVE OUT a camera as a preset from one of those earlier scenes, figuring I&#39;d just LOAD that camera into the second scene (and then adjust the placement and angle manually via&nbsp;the slider&nbsp;fields to match the earlier camera, as outlined&nbsp;above).&nbsp; When I then went to bring that camera into the second scene, it promptly DELETED all the other cameras out of that&nbsp;scene, leaving only the camera I just brought in.&nbsp; Darnit, I want this as an ADDITIONAL camera ALONG SIDE the existing cameras in the&nbsp;scene.</p>

<p>What the bleep am I doing wrong here?&nbsp; Oo</p>

      <description><![CDATA[<p>I want to orbit around the model in some mannor.&nbsp; Sometimes it does and then for no reason I can see it says, &#39;naw,&#39; and&nbsp;stops.&nbsp; The rotation becomes enormous or starts spinning on an axis.&nbsp; In other programs I can control whether I rotate around an object, a point, or rotate the camera around.&nbsp; Here its so frustrating.&nbsp; Sometimes deleting the camera and starting over helps.&nbsp; &nbsp;Sometimes I&nbsp;literally have to restart the program to get it back.&nbsp; I&#39;ve tried all the coordinates in tool settings.&nbsp; I&#39;ve looked at preferences.&nbsp; I&#39;ve tried pointing the camera at my girl&#39;s face.&nbsp; I&#39;ve tried limiting the axis it can move on.&nbsp; Could someone please provide me with the location that controls how the rotation works.&nbsp; And putting the model in the center of the scene isn&#39;t an option.&nbsp; Is anyone else having this issue?&nbsp; Am I frustrated to the point of throwing things because I did something wrong?&nbsp; And why doesn&#39;t it always point to the place I say.&nbsp; Sometimes it does (though that makes the camera do this summersault that I can&#39;t get rid of in animation when I try to do a 360 degree orbit.)&nbsp; I&#39;m trying to get a brian de palma style camera&nbsp;orbit that defines intense&nbsp;confusion and the world coming apart at the seams.&nbsp; Ironically, that&#39;s what Daz is doing to me.<span>&nbsp;</span>&nbsp;</p>

      <description><![CDATA[<p>I will express what I want to do in the simplest terms.</p>

<p>I want to attach/glue a small object (like a small cube) to the &gt;skin&lt; of a model.</p>

<p>I want the cube to stay attached to that spot on the skin regardless of limb movement, act like a cube glued to the skin at that point.</p>

<p>Move relative to the skin it is on and not the skeleton.</p>

<p>The cube should maintain the same angle and position of the spot it is attached (it should not flip or spin in place when the spot it is glued to moves)</p>

<p>I would like the easiest way to do this using only daz, if it is possible.</p>

      <description><![CDATA[<p>Hopefully somebody can help with a problem I&#39;m having.&nbsp; I&#39;m trying to get the letters in the &quot;More Than Words&quot; wood cubes to look engraved.&nbsp; I created a displacement map adopted from a grayscale map of the letters, by changing it into a two-tone black and white map in photoshop.&nbsp; The map works fine with positive displacement, so far so good.&nbsp; But when I apply a negative value to minimum displacement, that value has no effect; the black portions of the map remain at zero displacement and there&#39;s no indentation into the prop.</p>

<p>Is there some trick to getting negative displacement to show up in an Iray render?&nbsp; I know the map works and that my SubD is sufficient because I can get the basic effect by increasing the maximum displacement above zero.&nbsp; But that messes up alignment with other props, etc., because it&#39;s increasing the apparent dimensions of the prop.</p>

<p>It just seems like there must be something I&#39;m missing to &quot;unlock&quot; negative displacement.</p>

      <description><![CDATA[<p>I seem to recall seeing a converter product that would take clothing for M4 and converting it to fit M5 or back again, and for the Genesis line as well.</p>

<p>Am I dreaming? If not sure would like to know what it is and if the products don&#39;t exist can anyone suggest a process?</p>

<p>Basically I want to get clothing made for G2F to fit to Genesis Female for instance...or any other cross fit from one to the other.</p>

<p>Also from Male to Female and back again?</p>
