      <description><![CDATA[<p>I don&#39;t know what I did, but in one particular scene of mine&nbsp;the surface selection tool has stopped working. It was working fine before, and it works fine in other scenes. Yes, I can go into my scene tab and select items there if I want to make surface changes, but I should be able to highlight them&nbsp;with the tool - but I can&#39;t anymore. Thanks for any/all suggestions on what&#39;s gone wrong.</p>

      <description><![CDATA[<p>The attachment is a promo pic from Mec4D&#39;s <a href="https://www.daz3d.com/mec4d-hdri-norman-castle-megapack" target="_blank" rel="nofollow">https://www.daz3d.com/mec4d-hdri-norman-castle-megapack</a>. I don&#39;t own the pack&nbsp;(yet),&nbsp;but I do own a number of other HDRIs&nbsp;and none of them allow me to hide a figure behind an integral scene element. There&#39;s a similar pic in Mec4D&#39;s Central Park collection--of a woman sitting on a bench--but that one&#39;s easy to figure out: the bench is simply a prop and not integral to the HDRI.</p>

<p>However this one was done, I&#39;d sure like to know the trick of it! No wonder the guy is grinning.</p>

      <description><![CDATA[<p>This is a Maya question rather than a Studio question, but I suspect that someone here will know.</p>

<p>Class assignment requires applying the dx11 shader to the model, and to get to that point one has to switch from OpenGL to DirectX11. Only on my copy of Maya, DirectX11 is simply not available. I&#39;m running the student version of Maya on an iMac. The classroom computers are running the student version of Maya on Windows&nbsp;(don&#39;t know what version).</p>

<p>I checked the Plugin manager, but there was no obvious box to check to enable DirectX11. If this is something that I need to download and install, I&#39;d appreciate knowing where to find it.</p>

      <description><![CDATA[<p>Hopefully this is too dumb of a question, but I am having some shadow issues in a scene i&#39;m working on.&nbsp; Problem being that I need the light, but don&#39;t want it to cast a shadow.&nbsp; I know I&#39;ve seen a property before to tell the light whether or not to cast a shadow, and it&#39;s referenced in the user guide online, but I can&#39;t find it anywhere now.&nbsp; I guess along a similar line, I can&#39;t find the fallof start/end for the linear point light either.&nbsp; Do these properties still exist, if so where, or have there been changes to light properties with the 4.10 upgrade?&nbsp;</p>

      <description><![CDATA[<p>Well I spent about 4 hours setting up a fascimile of the famous Norman Rockwell painting &#39;The Runaway&#39;. To my surprise when I go to render it in DAZ Studio 4.10.1.118 it takes extremely long time to render even the 1st iteration. We are talking well over an hour &amp; not 1 iteration &amp; I ended up canceling. It seemed DAZ Studio or the computer was spinning their wheels in some sort of idele loop. It was so slow and my computer so throttled I thought my computer CPU had developed problems.</p>

<p>So instead I am testing another scene that is less complex in DAZ and it rendered in the normal speed. Any clues? I guess I could try composite rendering under I find the model that is causing this behaviour.</p>

      <description><![CDATA[<p>I have an iMac system with an internal&nbsp;NVIDIA GeForce GTX 680MX 2 GB graphics card, and I have a BizonBOX attached with an NVIDIA TITAN X card. These were working before I updated to the High Sierra OS. Then the system stopped recognizing the TITAN card. I&#39;ve been working with a BizonBOX tech, and now the system recognizes the TITAN card, but niether the internal nor external cards show up in Studio&#39;s Render Settings - just the CPU.</p>

<p>What do I need to do to get Studio to see the GPUs?</p>

<p>I have graphMate and keyMate installed on my Win7-64 bit PC.</p>

<p>I can see the keyframes for my animation on the DAZ timeline and the keyMate timeline, but no keys appear in graphMate.</p>

<p>Also, I can&#39;t&nbsp;add any keys to graphMate, but I can add keys&nbsp;on the DAZ timeline&nbsp;and the keyMate timeline.</p>

<p>I&#39;m working with the latest DAZ Studio 4.10.0.107.</p>

I have only been able to find genesis 3 for male as actor, but no female. I only have the basic female, fairy genesis and genesis. I can&#39;t even find genesis 2 for male or female.</p>

<p>Hopefully I can describe this properly. So, I&#39;ve created a character using morphs.&nbsp;I want to save this character so that the morphs I&#39;ve made are the new zero baselines for the character, so that when I load it into a scene, I can apply additional morphs to it as if it was a completely new and unmorphed character. Does that make sense? In other words, lets say that when I created my character, I moved the &quot;jaw in/out&quot; slider to 25. I want to save that character so that that setting becomes the new default, and when I load it into a scene, the &quot;jaw in/out&quot; slider will read zero.</p>

<p>Can anyone tell me how to do this?</p>

      <description><![CDATA[<p>Hi everyone! I have a scene where a sidekick (think Robin) is trying to put on the costume of his hero (think Batman). Since the sidekick is not as tall or as buff as the hero, is there any way I can make clothes look loose on the sidekick? Possibly scale up the clothing item somehow? I can go into ZBrush and do some morphing if necessary, but I would like to do as much in Daz as I can.</p>

      <description><![CDATA[<p>Hi, I am doing a render of G8M (Michael 8), 3 figures side by side to test the appearance of 3 different mats.</p>

<p>One mat is the Michael 8 out of the box, another is Beautiful Skins No. 2 Mat on Michael 8, the third is my own working of the settings on Michael 8, incorporating advice from the forums.</p>

<p>In general I am very pleased with the work that I have produced, however with the render 75% complete the fingertips on the figure that I have worked on are glowing red. There is no other part of the body with this effect, and it does not appear on the other 2 figures who are posed identically and all face exactly the same direction (in other words the light is the same on each figure)</p>

<p>Can anyone tell me which setting I should look at to correct this problem?</p>

      <description><![CDATA[<p>I need help! When I load a figure, a figure already on DAZ is distorted. I tested many times, with different figures, it happens all the times. For instance, I load Aiko 7, then Victoria 7. At this point the A7 gets distorted. I checked log file but there is nothing wrong there (besides the usual&nbsp;Could not find property for animation, formula, etc). If I then I load another A7, it is ok. If then I load another figure, the second A7 is also distorted. It doesnt matter what figures they are, some gets distorted. It happens also if I load the same figure twice, the first one gets distorted.</p>

<p>What can be going on? I fear I will have to reinstall everything. A scary thought...</p>

<p>If money was no object, what would you get for a PC? Processor, video card, RAM, etc.</p>

<p>I won&#39;t have the money to get it all but it would be good to know what the options are. I saw one discussion a while back where someone said to use two video cards which tells me I need to get educated if I want super fast Daz renders.</p>

      <description><![CDATA[<p>Hello all,</p>

<p>I&#39;ve tried my best to troubleshoot this on my own by looking at similar threads with no luck, so I&#39;m hoping someone will know what&#39;s up. Ever since the update to Daz3D 4.10 I haven&#39;t been able to start the program. It was working fine before this.</p>

<p>I&#39;ve tried:</p>

<ul>
	<li>Uninstalling/Reinstalling through DIM</li>
	<li>Uninstalling/Reinstalling through the Daz3D package on the site</li>
	<li>Setting Daz3D to use my 1070 in the Nvidia Control Panel</li>
	<li>Installing related runtime packages from Microsoft</li>
</ul>

<p>I&#39;m running Windows 7 64-bit with a 3570k, 16GB of RAM, with a 1070. My drivers are up to date.</p>

<p>I&#39;m not sure this warning is relevant, but in my log.txt file when I try to start Daz3D, it says:</p>

</blockquote>

      <title>Can't Migrate User Categories from DAZ Studio 4.8.0.59 Pro to DAZ Studio 10</title>

      <description><![CDATA[<p>I created my own categories starting before DAZ Studio 4.8.0.59. Since I was not interested at the time in continuing with new figures (Genesis 8), I did not download any version of DAZ Studio 4.9. However, I decided I wanted to try Dforce so through DIMI downloaded and installed 4.10. None of my categories migrated over. I had backed up my data through &quot;Export........and have three User files.&nbsp;My Library and all relevant files are in their default location. I do have some files on my drive G. These are all of my saved scene&nbsp; that I created. Those migrated over fine. &nbsp;&nbsp;Even after I imported my data back, it did not show up. Since I back up my C drive on my computer, I kept putting back my DAZ Studio 4.8. I tried to import having all items checked. When that didn&#39;t work, I put 4.8 on again and this time only&nbsp;checked &nbsp;user data as well as the override product metadata (or whatever it is called). I want to buy Genesis 8 files, but if I can&#39;t use my categories, it isn&#39;t worth it for me. Thanks</p>
