Okay. I decided to give DAZ's strand-based hair system a go. And since I've been toying with the idea of making a barbarian outfit, I thought that such a system would be great for making the furry parts of the garment.

Just one problem. I created a set of hair and it didn't look right. And I can't figure out how to get back in and edit said piece. So...okay. Call me stupid, but...how do I go back in and edit this thing? And please don't tell me that I have to start from scratch!

I had to do a factory restore for my OS recently and when I re-installed Studio, the "open recent" option is missing from the File menu drop down. This option isn't missing from all the other apps I routinely use. They all have the "open recent" option from the File drop down. I've scoured preferences looking for a way to enable this in Studio but can find none. Was this removed in a recent update? I've been at this for about 15 years and my files list is really long so the recent option is very useful.

I'm on a Mac using Sonoma.

Mirroring a joint corrective morph

Hi, I've been struggling for couple hours, now I am here again in search of answers.

All went well for the JCM I created for the left side thigh; I want the JCM to activate when the thigh rotation side-side is active. I create the morph in Zbrush for the left side, make the morph a type modifier/pose, then open property hierarchy to find 1st stage controller of new morph and drag and drop the Left tigh side-side rotation pose I need to correct and it works all well. Up to this I think I'm doing everything okay

The right side is now the problem and it has to do with the attributed sign of the right side it seems (Left bends in (+) and right bends in (-)). So, I grab the morph I made for left side > morph loader pro > hit the morph mirroring option to "swap x axis" (this I'm not sure it's the right option). The morph comes out okay for the right side. In property hierarchy, I do the same as the left side but for the right tigh and now, the resulting JCM is kinda inverted. I want the morph to go from 0 > 100 when the joint (R side-side bend) goes open 0 > -50. As of now, my morph is applied (+) when the bend closes -50 > 0.

Is the problem with the right side in property hierarchy or when I mirror the morph in morph loader pro? I think I would need my morph to invert the sign, so instead of gradually applying from 0 > 100, it would applies from 0 > -100, as all Right pose transform do. How can I do that?

Any alternative?

Big thanks

Not sure if it matters but:

I recently ran into an issue with Zeddicus products. So far just two: "Z Nail Salon for Genesis 8 Female" and "Z Drink Up"

Clicking on DUF files results in Daz wanting to close the current scene asking to save changes, rather than applying the materials to the figure in the case of Z Nail Salon, or loading a prop in the case of Z Drink Up.

No idea why this is happening. I installed these same as I do anything else and I've never had issues with Zeddicus products before.

Hello,
Do you know of a way to simulate a garment that takes morphs into account, but only as a starting point?
Let me explain:

If I adjust a garment with an ‘expend all’, it keeps the offset even in the simulation. I'd like this offset to no longer be taken into account and for the garment to fit the body.

Thanks in advance

I did this some other times in the past: I import the OBJ, load the figure, set as Favourite the moprhs I want to transfer and then start the Transfer Utility setting it to transfer the favorited miprhs to the prop, but even if the beard is transferred and perfectly working, the facial morphs aren't trasnferred and nowhere to be find in the beard parameters.

Someone can give me the right procedure for this? Thanks!

I'm currently working on a model that is half human half giraffe and was looking to attach the horns from a giraffe to her. So naturally I took the horns off of the "Silverkey 3D Giraffe" model and parented the horns to her head. However, whenever I move her neck or head the horns don't stay attached. Does anyone know how to solve this?

I purchased [Dream Home Dining Room and Great Room Breakfast Nook] both of these products ages ago along with, I think, literally all of the rest of the Dream Home. Almost all of the Dream Home loads into a scene properly, however the Dream Home Dining Room is showing up as gray blocks, while the breakfast nook is not showing up at all, although it appears in my content menu. Can anyone help me figure out where the files need to be so that I can get them both working properly again? I've tried uninstalling them and reinstalling them using DIM, but it hasn't worked, and I'm finding it very frustrating. If it helps, I'm moderately tech-savvy, but not especially wise to the mysteries of how DAZ file structures are set up or how they are *supposed* to be set up.

Operating system: Win 10

Issue: I have tried multiple times to install Daz studio 4.5. I have ran it through the install manager which is the lastest version, and I have tried manual install, and manual install with admin permissions. In ALL cases my Anti virus was OFF just to be safe.

Daz install manager says it's isntalled, and Manual install goes sucessfully through ALL the steps it needs to before telling me it's done.

Yet when I go and try to run DazStudio 4.5, it's nowhere to be found. No icon on the desktop or in the start menu. No .exe foun in the isntall location where it's supposed to be installed. I need the bridge to bledner function for a big project I'm working on due to rigging and texture issues when exporting a model normally.

Has anyone had this issue before? If so, how did you fix it?

I bought [CL Adventurous Undercut Hair for G9] this a little bit ago, and after loading it onto a custom G9 character, I noticed the shaved part of the hair was deep into the back of the head. This somtimes happens when fitting hair to a custom G9 character, and is easy enough to adjust with morphs provided by the creator. Except with this I can find no morphs that adjust the cap -- only the hair. Am I missing something? I tried adding headsize morphs and at .5% and then adjusting the cap with those, but after 15 minutes of fiddling it became apparent that I don't have the right morphs to adjust the hair to fit properly. I tried messing with the smoothing and collision but those didn't help. It can be moved and then fitted, but I kinda don't want to spend half an hour everytime I want to use the hair. Does anyone have any hints that would help fit the hair on characters in 5 minutes or so ?

Hey,

The title is not clear, I did not know how to phrase it, so let me explain.

I have a G9 and some G8 cloths on it (I don't think it matters but just in case, I clarify that). For now, the shape of the cloth is kinda OK:

But obviously, if I change the leg position, the coat will move too:

And that's the "issue". I would like to freeze the cloth right after the first image, so I can use Mesh grabber to add some "floating movement", and then move the legs.
Right now, the mesh grabber will deform the coat as intended. It will look ok if I don't push it to hard. But as soon as I move the leg, and the the coat will move according to the new leg position, and the back of the coat will start to implose (like a failed Dforce).
I tried to unparent the cloth right after the first image, but it still moves with the leg.
I tried to right clic on the coat (Source pannel) + Fit to "none" , but then it resets the coat:

Any clue about how to achieve that?
Thanks!

When I export my Daz figure with a geometry shell, the shell doesn't export in the pose. It does this for .obj, .fbx, and Daz to C4D.

The geometry shell is posed in Daz, but the export looks like the attached image in third party software. You can see the black of the geoshell.

Any advice would be greatly appreciated!
