      <description><![CDATA[<p>Hey all,&nbsp;</p>

<p>So I haven&#39;t been using Daz very long (much more time with Poser), and I just started working on some new custom texture files (always fun.) But... the files are all under the names of the creators in Runtime, so&nbsp;the top level folder is not the name of the item. I can&#39;t figure out a way to even halfway easily match the item to the folder only by the artist&#39;s name and then open the files-- without going into every single artist&#39;s name folder individually and clicking it open to see who created what. The only way I&#39;ve found to figure out who created an item is to go into the original order files, click on the item, and then look at the names on the original creator&#39;s page and match them to the item. Going to the item in the content library, right clicking, and finding the duf file obviously has only the name of the item, not the creator.&nbsp;&nbsp;It just seems like there HAS to be an easier way to do this! Any tips or clues???</p>

      <description><![CDATA[<p>I know it&#39;s my rim lights causing this, I&#39;m just not sure how to fix it. Is there a setting on either the hair or lights or render settings (I&#39;m using Iray) that can prevent the lights doing this? Or do I just need to more strategically place my lights?</p>

      <description><![CDATA[<p>I am attempting to use an obj file as a cloth object.</p>

<p>I imported in to studio. i added dforce modifier weight node 1 , I made sure that was parented to the square obj. I pressed simulate.</p>

<p>I get an error box saying &quot;No objects to simulate&quot;&nbsp; and &quot;add a dforce modifier or object to scene.&quot;</p>

<p>&nbsp;</p>

<p>What am I doing wrong and are there any tutorials on this. ?</p>

<p>Note: i have just upgraded to Poser 11 for the cloth simulations and animation tools so imagine my surprise when I found what looked like cloth sims in Daz studio without buying add-ons. ;-)</p>

      <description><![CDATA[<p>I have been working a chiffon fabric (material)&nbsp;&nbsp;for a dress I created. While working on the&nbsp;texturing,&nbsp;&nbsp;I noticed an odd opacity issue.&nbsp; I only need a hint of opacity cutout for this fabric but I increased it for the sample image below to make the effect more&nbsp;obvious.&nbsp; Notice that the opacity behaves differently over the model&#39;s skin.&nbsp; &nbsp;On the sides you can see the backside of the dress through&nbsp;the front side of the dress and it has a fairly normal sheer&nbsp;material effect.&nbsp; Then notice the fabric over her thigh and knee&nbsp;does not really appear trasparent.&nbsp; Her skin seems to either show up white beneath the fabric, or the opacity is not working over that region. There is no skin diffuse color coming through.&nbsp; If I make the fabric almost completly see through&nbsp;(Opacity cutout below 30%), then I start to see skin&nbsp;diffuse color coming through, but this is not useful for this project.&nbsp; &nbsp;</p>

<p>This may be&nbsp;related to the&nbsp;light emitter through a transparency map issue (IRAY) but I am not sure.</p>

<p>Does&nbsp;anyone have any information of how to reduce or eliminate this unwated effect?&nbsp; Workarounds?&nbsp; lighting changes?&nbsp; &nbsp;Having seen may IRAY renders for architecture including sheer curtains that looked simply amazing, I find it hard to believe that IRAY can&#39;t handle this.&nbsp; Anyone have any ideas?</p>

      <description><![CDATA[<p>Hi all.&nbsp; :)&nbsp;</p>

<p>For some reason, the Animate2 pane is hiding most of the tracks.&nbsp; If I have two figures loaded, the second track is completely hidden.&nbsp; It will automatically adjust for sub tracks but not for main tracks.&nbsp; I can resize the entire pane but that only makes the aniblock selection area huge and the problem persists.&nbsp; I can&#39;t find any way to resize that particular part of the pane.&nbsp; It&#39;s the same on any workspace I choose.&nbsp;</p>

      <description><![CDATA[<p>SO Moving from A PC to mac. &nbsp;Is is possihle to move the DIM installation/files and the content file structure from PC TO MAC (and there is the meta Database). &nbsp;I have seen some quazi older stabs at moving to a new machine of the same type. &nbsp;my search foo on the forums hasn&#39;t been very strong. &nbsp;If anyone has some suggestions or links for instructions to follow that would be great. &nbsp; I am hoping the data stucture itself is the same and its a matter oif putting it in the new machine and modifing some files. &nbsp;I would hate to instll everything again to 20+ directories. &nbsp; I plan on doing DAZStudio, Carrara and Hex. &nbsp;I still have to see if Reality has a mac release since this machine has no NVidia at the. moment. &nbsp;(Might look at eGPU later)<br />

<p>I have a question about DAZStudio regarding the rendering background image.<br />
<br />
The attachment A is the rendering result in the window pops up when it&#39;s done.<br />
When it&#39;s saved as PNG file, the image comes with&nbsp;the transparent background.<br />
(I left &quot;Environment&quot; tab as &quot;None&quot; to leave the background as transparent)<br />
<br />
However.</p>

<p>The attachment B is the image I can see in Render Editor.<br />
There&#39;s no alpha channel. It&#39;s on the solid black background.<br />
Even if I saved the image as PNG or TIFF, no alpha channel is included.</p>

<p>I would like to have/edit the rendering image A (the image with the transparent background) in the Editor.<br />
Not the one with the black background.<br />
Is it possible? Or Render Editor can&#39;t handle transparent background?</p>

<p>If possible, how could I make it work?</p>

      <description><![CDATA[<p>hello help section i have a major problem. i had the latest daz studio installed from the IM but some how the program file got removed and now i can&#39;t reinstall it. i even downloaded the installer manually and windows keeps deleeting it. any reson why it&#39;s happaning? i am on windows 10 and before the program got remove it was working.</p>

<p>Edit: well it seems restarting windows makes daz studio good for one use then you need to restart windows agen. need a fix.</p>

<p>Edit 2: found the problem it was my antivirus claming the installer and the main app was an igp.genaric virus. hope this helps.</p>

I don&#39;t think the set comes with any lights so the only lighting is coming from the sky dome. Does anyone have any suggestions on how to improve it?&nbsp;</p>

      <description><![CDATA[<p>I buy Daz stuff to use in iClone but the FBX of parented items is very ill-behaved.&nbsp; They act as if they are unparented, and often times this means they move way away from where they ought to be.&nbsp; You can see this same effect in Daz by just unparenting things that certain folks have created (right now I&#39;m using Suburban Mall by Bastion, but I&#39;ve seen this behavior in a LOT of Daz stuff -- not all, but a lot).</p>

<p>If I go into the children items and unparent them inside of Daz, they move away from where they should be.&nbsp; This is exactly what happens when I export as FBX.&nbsp; I *can* export as OBJ and this won&#39;t happen, but OBJ export has textures messed up.</p>

<p>Any idea on how to fix this?&nbsp; The fix would be to somehow unparent items in Daz and let them inherit their parent&#39;s transformation (as you can do in other software).</p>

<p>I bought an anatomical package that has lots of morphs, but when I try to export as FBX, they&#39;re not visible and I cannot select them. If I try a collada export it&#39;s working fine, but collada is not useful for me since I only use fbx. The anatomical elements are children of the G3F, but even if I unparent them, they&#39;re not visible when exporting.</p>

<p>Do you have any ideas how to export their morphs as well ?</p>

      <description><![CDATA[<p>Since upgrading to DS4.10 I&#39;m having an issue that when I click on a camera control (the same if viewing through a light to get the position right) I have to hold the mouse perfectly still for 2 seconds or it jumps to a random spot in the scene and I have to undo the orbit camera and re-try, and it&#39;s every time.</p>

<p>Also - this one&#39;s intermittent - I get the same problem with parameter dials, as an example, something could be at X pos 30, I try dragging upwards and suddenly find it&#39;s at X-1747.&nbsp; And annoyingly then when I do undo and retry it&#39;s common that as you manage to drag the dial up, it goes so far and then jumps to spot rendering instead of using the dial at all.</p>

<p>DS was closed down when I upgraded and I have tried uninstalling and re-installing, so I&#39;m hoping it&#39;s already an identified bug that&#39;s being patched, but anyone else had this issue and found a work around?</p>

      <description><![CDATA[<p>I am in a situation where my work is taking too long to render,&nbsp;so it&#39;s time to boost the render power.&nbsp;Current system is 2x&nbsp;980ti (so 5,632 cores @ 6GB).&nbsp;The good news is at the moment the scenes are well inside the buffer limit of the 980ti cards (6Gb) - sitting around 4Gb-5Gb.<br />
<br />
Adding a 1080ti to the system is a bit on the pricey side (about &pound;700-&pound;900 depending on spec)&nbsp;and as far as I understand will not give me the benefit of the extra ram if fitted with along side the current 980ti cards.<br />
<br />
So this is my plan - can I get a sanity check on it. (based on current UK prices)<br />
<br />
Put the Two existing 980ti cards in a rack to sit by the side of the existing system.<br />
Add an extra 980ti card (&pound;300 second hand)&nbsp;This will bring me to just within the limit of my 1000w PSU.<br />
This would give me 8,448 cores running at 6Gb (which is something like&nbsp;1,200 more cores than 2x1080ti) for a little over &pound;400 in actual cost (inc. cables and a new rack) against the Approx &pound;950 for two 1080ti cards (after selling the current two 980ti)<br />
<br />
So I expect I would be looking at maybe around a 30% improvement on current render speeds?<br />
<br />
Does that sound about right to you?</p>

      <description><![CDATA[<p>Hi.</p>

<p>I went to zBrush and zModeled a simple 2 by 2 box (or cube). Then I qMeshed a lid. The box and the lid are two seperate polygroups and are all one subtool. I export the subtool as an obj.</p>

<p>I open Daz Studio and get Figure Setup open. I add geometery (or my obj) but the dialog box is really messed up and I can&#39;t resize it in order to see it correctly and apply any applicable import options.</p>

<p>See attached picture.</p>

<p>Has anyone experienced this and figured out how to overcome.</p>

<p>it seems the formula for the bangs and the hair is the same but they come out different. the gray streaky look is</p>

<p>not acceptable. Sandy Hair is by Goldtassel. would buying the additional colors help?</p>

      <description><![CDATA[<p>I&#39;d like to create in DS that comic effect you get when a character moves only part of his body in a repetitive matter. For example, a court judge slamming his hammer&nbsp;repeatedly on his desk, calling to order, or a boxer punching a sandbag in rapid motions. In such pictures, the body remains in place and only a member is in motion. Any suggestions?</p>

<p>Sometimes the 1st one loads but not the others.</p>

<p>When i click on the defaults in the render-settings the screen gets white and stays white :-(</p>

      <description><![CDATA[<p>Has there been changes in the way DAZ exports FBX data or maybe in the rigging system or something, in the new DAZ 4.10.x release?</p>

<p>When I last exported an FBX with animation from DAZ to 3ds Max, it worked perfectly. That was more than a year ago using 4.8. Yesterday I tried to export an FBX with animation again, using 4.10, and it comes out weird in 3ds Max. The bones doesn&#39;t work properly anymore and after a good while of struggling, only some of the parts seem to animate. A walk animation looks like a person in a T-pose trying to roller-blade.</p>

<p>I&#39;m going re-install 4.8 this evening and try again to determine whether it&#39;s potentially an issue with DAZ. I imported the old, previous FBX with which I tried it the first time, and that one imports and works perfectly. Just when I try now, using all kinds of different settings, methods and FBX versions, they all either come out with the T-pose rollor-blader or no animation at all. I even scoured the internet for different ways to go about it and I do everything exactly like everyone else is. By all counts, it should work, except that it doesn&#39;t.</p>

<p>Anyone perhaps have idea or advice on this? If I&#39;m still struggling tonight with the 4.8 version, then I&#39;ll record a video to illustrate my issue.</p>

      <description><![CDATA[<p>Hi, I&#39;m looking at upgrading my computer to improve rendering quality and I have had someone recommend getting an Nvidia Quadro P5000 which can do 30 bit colour. Of course, I would also need a monitor that can show 30 bit colour too . . . Does DAZ Studio output 30 bit colour images?&nbsp; - and while I&#39;m at it, in your opinion, (Those who have seen this type of imagery)&nbsp; is it worth my money upgrading to this or is the difference barely noticeable? &nbsp;</p>

      <title>1070 Card is Dying?</title>

<p>I&#39;m sorry of this is long, but Windows fatal error during a render scared the p*ss out of me.&nbsp; Don&#39;t know if DS issue with SubD settings too high or my card might be going out. : (</p>

<p>Strix ROG 1070 (8GB with probably 7.5 available)</p>

<p>Started a render with SubD at 2 on three different actors.</p>

<p>Screen went black for 1 second.&nbsp; Came back on @ 1080 rather than 4k</p>

<p>MsgBox: &quot;Windows has encountered fatal error at (something)&quot;&nbsp; Windows rebooted before I could get a SS.&nbsp; Reboot still at 1080.</p>

<p>Let machine cool down &amp; booted up.&nbsp; Still at 1080.&nbsp; NvCPL.exe &quot;No NVidia device installed.&quot;&nbsp; GPU-Z: &quot;NVidia 1070 at 0 Mhz&quot;&nbsp;</p>

<p>Device Manager: &quot;Error: Windows has disabled this device.&nbsp; Further installation needed.&nbsp; Search Web or browse to install.&quot;</p>

<p>Search web &amp; it installed same driver I&#39;d been using.&nbsp; Huh?</p>

<p>Long &amp; short, searched web for card diagnostics, but not much out there.&nbsp; &quot;6 signs your card is dying&quot; don&#39;t seem to apply.&nbsp; (not getting any lag or weird display errors, no dust bunnies inside case, games &amp; streaming work OK, etc.)</p>

<p>Does this happen often?&nbsp; Geometry or something just too much for it?&nbsp;</p>

<p>Leery about doing any more renders until I find out cause.</p>

<p>Render size 2922 x 2191 ; approx file size 6981 MB</p>

<p>Win-10 | DS 4.10<br />
i-7 (6700k) on g3 mobo | bios @ minimum of 4.16 GHz<br />
