<p>G3M or G3F. If the arms are lowered the back shoulder blades gets all distorted and the figure looks&nbsp;&quot;disfigured&quot;.</p>

      <description><![CDATA[<p>I&#39;ve acquired quite few&nbsp;non-Iray vehicles, both here and elsewhere, and managed to convert&nbsp;several so they look pretty good in Iray. Paint, chrome, and window and mirror glass are usually no problem, but I tend to&nbsp;have a tough time with&nbsp;tires, headlight reflectors (behind the glass), instrument and interior lights, and especially taillights, running lights&nbsp;&amp;&nbsp;turn signals. Applying a coloured glass shader to a full-width taillight array, or an emergency vehicle&#39;s light bar,&nbsp;usually ends up looking pretty crappy.</p>

<p>No doubt my troubles are due to ignorance, because I&#39;ve seen some gorgeous conversions by other DAZ users. So I&#39;m wondering what the best method is, and if&nbsp;there&#39;s a tutorial thread somewhere that can put me on the road to better conversions. Faster would be nice&nbsp;because I have a ton more to do, and I&#39;d like to improve the ones I&#39;ve already done.</p>

<p>As always, any tips and/or pointers would be greatly appreciated.</p>

      <description><![CDATA[<p>I am trying to tidy up my folders a bit. In My Documents folder&nbsp;is the Daz 3D folder with the Daz programs I own listed inside. At the bottom of the list of folders is the Studio folder. Today I found the folder with all my content outside the Studio folder in a folder named My Daz 3d Library.&nbsp;I would like to move this folder into the Studio folder. Is it ok to move this folder or will everything break? Thank you for any help.</p>

      <description><![CDATA[<p>Hello (again).&nbsp; I have exported a gen 2 model to Cinema 4d using the FBX format.&nbsp; I was able to edit the FBX popup screen to bring over all the expression controls from daz using the cntrl.head export commands.&nbsp; Yay.&nbsp; Has anyone transfered ALL the controls using that system before?&nbsp; I mean.&nbsp; I can do pretty much any expression.&nbsp; Shouldn&#39;t I also be able to pose it.&nbsp;</p>

<p>Also, does anyone know how to accurately scale FBX exports?</p>

      <description><![CDATA[<p>This product uses a geoshell, so why wouldn&#39;t I be able to use this on ANY figure? I would love a product like this, but if only works for ONE figure for whatever reaosn, seems like a waste of money and time. However, I&#39;m presuming that there is a way to use it for anyone. Cause it does seem like a good product.. but EXTREMELY limiting.</p>

      <description><![CDATA[<p>I recently bought this character <a href="https://www.daz3d.com/grace-for-genesis-3-8-female" target="_blank" rel="nofollow">https://www.daz3d.com/grace-for-genesis-3-8-female</a> for Genesis 3 and Genesis 8 female. However, unlike the regular Genesis 3 or Genesis 8 model,&nbsp;&quot;Grace&quot; has some strange red stripes under the butt on her legs. Since this is my first model ever and I recently started learning DAZ I was wondering if this is a common error/ case or normal thing&nbsp;for characters and how you can fix it. Could it also be that this is a mistake by the creater of the character? It doesn&#39;t look good or natural on renders and is really annoying. Help appreciated!</p>

      <description><![CDATA[<p>I&#39;m trying to create a morph from a sculped G3F base that apparently had &quot;Navel&quot; and &quot;Mouth Realism HD&quot; left on (p.s.: why are these on by default?). Now, my carefully sculpted teeth are being turned into rounded pegs and the lips are parting slightly. I just want my morphed figure to match the sculpted .obj file.</p>

<p>When importing a morph with Morph Loader Pro, one of the options is &quot;reverse deformations&quot;. Can anyone explain what this does without a bunch of three-letter-acronym terminology? Will this let me back out the facial and navel distortions?</p>

<p>Help!</p>

      <description><![CDATA[<p>I downloaded and installed the newest Studio but there was a bit of a hiccup in that it did not delete the previous version. I uninstalled the newest one and did a do-over and that one worked. However Im having all sorts of content issues. Most of what I have purchased was for Poser so I was going back to dl the studio versions. Whenever I do the install manager opens a new instance of&nbsp; DS, even though it is already open then I get an error that the file does not exist.</p>

<p>I really would like to give learning DS another whirl but this has me baffled. Anyone have any insights for me?</p>

      <description><![CDATA[<p>I&#39;m using a Gen 2 model in Cinema 4d.&nbsp; The FBX file brings over a skin deformer that allows you to bend the mesh with the skeleton.&nbsp; But I can&#39;t seem to create the model to the size (180ish centimeters on the Y axis) I need and any scaling (or pert near anything else you do) ruins the skin deformer forcing me to re bind the model and skeleton.&nbsp; And I&#39;m cool with that.&nbsp; But I have to now apply kinematics to the skeleton and here&#39;s where I need help.&nbsp;</p>

<p>&nbsp;</p>

<p>Will I be able to export BVH (motion capture) files from Daz and apply them to the new rig without worrying about applying kinematics?&nbsp; I doubt it.&nbsp; Life is not that easy.</p>

<p>And if I have to apply kinematics, do I have to apply it just like the daz model has it.&nbsp; I&#39;m pretty sure the limbs are all IK but what about the shoulders, the hips and the neck?</p>

<p>Any help would be greatly appreciated.&nbsp;</p>

<p>Continuing with making some items.</p>

<p>I&#39;m adding metadata but I have, for example, a sword.&nbsp; I&#39;ve saved out the zeroed sword and want to make left and right hand smart-props for G3/8 M/F.&nbsp; I know how to do that, but I&#39;m stuck at setting the metadata.</p>

<p>Is the metadata per product?&nbsp; Or is it per sub-version?<br />
In other words, do I set it as &#39;Prop&gt;arms&gt;hands&#39; once on the zeroed version.&nbsp; Or do I set each one as &#39;Prop&gt;arm&gt;right/left&gt;hand&#39;?</p>

<p>Do I also set the compatibility base for each version?&nbsp; And what&#39;s the difference between &#39;Set compatibility base&#39; and &#39;Set compatible with&#39;?</p>

      <description><![CDATA[<p>Lately, I&#39;ve been reassigning a lot of my stuff to new/different categories within Smart Content, but it&#39;s been slow going.&nbsp; I learned pretty quickly you can ADD an item&nbsp;simply by dragging and dropping&nbsp;a file from one category to another.&nbsp; But to REMOVE a file it&#39;s a big hassle. You have to go to the Content library and find the Product that contains&nbsp;your file. Then&nbsp;you have to bring up the Content DB Editor and change the Root Category for the file in question.&nbsp; I have a lot of stuff so this is taking quite a while. So my question is: Is there some shortcut I&#39;ve missed for removing files from Smart Content categories?</p>

      <description><![CDATA[<p>I am ashamed to admit, but I have trouble sometimes discerning the ground and objects on it, because my viewport is so dark.</p>

<p>by going in preview mode I can of course see it, but I just&nbsp;can&#39;t &nbsp;see it in the main window. CTRL L doesn&#39;t always work to light up the floor area. Especially in sun sky mode</p>

<p>Is there any other option for getting my scene better lit for the purpose of placing objects?</p>

      <description><![CDATA[<p>I am trying to render a 1080p image as a background in a 1080p scene. The image is an uncompressed PNG, but that doesn&#39;t matter.</p>

<p>The end result is a horrible cubic deformed reproduction of the actual image. It looks like there are 8x8 or 12x12 blocks of some kind of compression, which are disfiguring/destroying the original image.</p>

<p>The effect I was going for, was to have the image show as a background. Thus, saving me a step in post-work and not having to deal with the incorrect alpha being saved in the models final renderings.</p>

<p>(The alpha is not rendering to the &quot;color&quot; of the model, it renders to &quot;black&quot;, causing a black outline if not used on a black background. Which can not be set to any &quot;color&quot;, except the default black. It should be rendering to the color of the models color, of that pixel... But, instead, it is blending the alpha of the color, to the unseen black background, and saving that &quot;color&quot; instead of the models rendered color.)</p>

      <description><![CDATA[<p>I did this with 4.9 a few weeks ago and now can&#39;t do this at all with 4.10 for some reason. I created an eyebrow mesh that I want to fit and auto follow the base genesis 8 expressions. I remember being able to achieve this quite easily. But for some reason when I use the transfer utility on 4.10, only 4 or 5 morphs get translated instead of all the morphs. I&#39;ve tried several permutations of this. None seem to work. Did something change in this between versions?</p>

<p>Everything that is a &quot;clone&quot; object in the rendering, will render BLACK or ALPHA, depending on the settings. This is due to Daz3D not showing the clones, for selection, in the node list...</p>

<p>How do I get these &quot;clones&quot; to be selected, for rendering?</p>

<p>Oh, and please just make a 24 and 32 bit rendering option, so we don&#39;t have to go through these odd steps. We obviously want it all rendered in these bit-depths, not just some of it. Make that an advanced option.</p>

      <description><![CDATA[<p>I&#39;ve made a bamboo staff and rigged it with limits to bend naturally.</p>

<p>It works well enough to select every bone and simply slide the &#39;bend&#39; etc dials.&nbsp; But I&#39;m wondering how I can set up a single dial to &#39;Bend-all&#39; as I&#39;ve seen in many products.&nbsp; Is there an easy way to do this within&nbsp; Daz Studio?&nbsp; Or do I need to manually edit the file in notepad or something?</p>

      <description><![CDATA[<p>I have changed my email from <span>email addresses removed</span> before few months and since then I am pretty sure that I dont get anymore DAZ site orange messages (in the upper header) and in my Account &gt; Messages (Inbox). I have seen on Facebook in DAZ Studio Addicts group that DAZ was giving away 10$ coupon for New Year but I didn&#39;t got any message about it.</p>

<p>Is there a chance to test this and fix the problem. I also am reciving promo emails from DAZ on my old <span>Email address removed</span> instead of my new <span>Email address removed</span></p>

      <description><![CDATA[<p>I don&#39;t expect anyone to give me a word for word guide on how to export a figure, with decimated polys and then apply an atlas texure to the figure in unity, but thats what I want to do.</p>

<p>I was wondering if anyone knew of any seperate guides on these indiviual things? (Obviously a more complete tutorial is best) and if the DAZ3d decimate plugin was avalible anywhere?&nbsp;</p>

<p>I looked around, just struggling a bit. Thanks in advance if anyone helps!</p>

      <description><![CDATA[<p>I am planing on getting an external HDD for my laptop.&nbsp; My question is how do I get Connect and DIM to install stuff on the external HDD?&nbsp; Is there a way to manually move everything I already downloaded when I get it which might be tomorrow or the next day since I am planing on using Amazon Prime. The laptop has about 464 GB on it.&nbsp; Is a TB about a thousand GB?&nbsp; I know not exactly but HDD&#39;s say that they have X TB does not mean I have X TB to play with.</p>

oops how do I reset a perspective camera? I assume that the kitchen set I load does not keep the tables and chairs on the ceiling?&nbsp; another issue for later.</p>
