      <description><![CDATA[<p>Hello, everyone,</p>

<p>I&#39;ve been rearranging my folders a little bit lately. Apparently, something must have failed.<br />
I noticed today that expressions and facial parameters are suddenly missing in existing projects.</p>

<p>Simple example, close eyes open.</p>

<p>There seems to be only the parameters I&#39;ve changed before. See picture. I&#39;m using Genesis 3 and Genesis 8, both of which are the same mistakes.</p>

<p>Do you have any ideas what I can do?</p>

      <description><![CDATA[<p>Yes, I&#39;m trying to do a test where it explodes.</p>

<p>It&#39;s common believe that dForce explodes when the cloth is pinched between two colliding objects. For example when the hand touches any part of the body that is covered with&nbsp;clothing. So&nbsp;I did an animation doing exactly that. Two simple spheres colliding on a simple cloth. And it doesn&#39;t explode.</p>

<p>I also tried to start the animation&nbsp;with the cloth colliding inside the sphere. And it doesn&#39;t explode either. It just stays pinched in the sphere and goes on fine.</p>

<p>So what&#39;s in the dForce Outfits that explodes the geometry ? Can we reduce it to simple tests ? And why my examples don&#39;t explode ?</p>

      <description><![CDATA[<p>I&#39;ve been going back and forth between Daz and Marvelous Designer to try to sort out a way I can reliably create scenes within DS featuring&nbsp;clothing that flows with the characters and their environments. I&#39;ve no idea why DS can&#39;t take onboard cloth physics when a program like MD can, but nevertheless, I&#39;ve come to the conclusion that I will have to use a second program if I want coats splaying out in the wind rather than sticking to the thighs of characters, etc. There are limited morphs that come with some of the garments but they lack&nbsp;enough freedom for the many images I want to create as references to draw from, and other custom morphs within the program just appear to distort/stretch the garment. I just seem to encounter problem after problem with trying to do this. I would appreciate it if anyone can offer ways around these problems&nbsp;or other workflows that are successful.</p>

<p>1. DS garments to MD - Some are&nbsp;welded/merged, some are not. You can&#39;t tell until you&#39;ve imported them into MD and seen them slowly fall apart within the simulation. Welded ones do move to a degree as cloth within MD; however, the sculpting can leave them remaining unnaturally bent/folded and I&#39;ve also found the mesh begins to rip when placed in the MD wind simulation.</p>

<p>2. Creating garments in MD - In theory, this should be fine. You export&nbsp;a DS figure OBJ in its T-pose/base pose, import to MD as avatar, make the clothing in MD to fit the character, then use that same garment for other poses you export from DS. Then you would import them back into DS as an OBJ, and the simulated clothing would fit the same posed figure you exported. But...</p>

<p>3. Exporting&nbsp;poses from DS as morph targets in MD - I&#39;ve got around the problem of the morph in MD breaking limbs during the morphing process by exporting the gradual change from t-pose to finished pose using separate OBJ exports from the animation timeline in DS. Then you can import one morph target OBJ at a time into MD, until your avatar has finally reached the position you require. This works for quite subtle poses, but if the finished pose is turned/higher up than the t-pose, the import back into DS just doesn&#39;t match. Feet haven&#39;t moved quite enough, or the body hasn&#39;t twisted quite enough etc. so the garment won&#39;t fit over the posed DS figure. I&#39;ve tried extending the time given for the morphing to take place in MD but to no avail.</p>

<p>4. Exporting Collada animations from DS for import into MD - Again, this should work. T-pose at one end of the timeline, finished pose at the other. Export as Collada using the right preferences (I think). Import into MD as avatar for the garment you&#39;ve created. Go to the MD animator, click the record camera and watch it slowly animate your avatar into the pose you want, complete with simulated clothing. Then export that posed garment as an OBJ, import back into DS and... it doesn&#39;t have the same pose again. The arm hasn&#39;t raised quite enough again, etc. I&#39;ve tried extending the timeline in DS before exporting so it takes longer for the figure to complete the pose but to no avail.</p>

<p>I&#39;m not sure if I&#39;m missing something, but any help from people who have managed to get a successful workflow for this, explaining their process or where I might&#39;ve gone wrong, would be appreciated. dForce clothing is something else I&#39;ve seen mentioned around these forums but it appears to be limited to certain clothing and movements rather than a universal approach, or maybe I&#39;m wrong?</p>

<p>I purchased a Gen 3 character here who head shape I like but the body does not suit my needs. It looks like the creator of the content only released a single full body shape found under &quot;actor/people&quot; on the parameter and shaping tabs but does not have seperate morphs for the head and body. Most of the content I have purchsed from this author is like this. I am fairly new to all this so I am stuck on exactly how to create a new morph target of just the head or just the body to give me more control on stylizing my characters. How do I accomplish this?</p>

      <description><![CDATA[<p>So am trying to tweak the shading on a window in a castle model, and realized the particular window I want is actually an instance of another in the model. when I look at the surfaces tab for the window I&#39;m intersted in I see nothing - if I adjust the shading on the &quot;original&quot; say dial the opacity down I see it affect the &quot;instance&quot;</p>

<p>2 questions - 1)&nbsp; is there a way to give the instance unique sdhading - i,e, it&#39;s own surface ?</p>

<p>and b) I want to make the window an emitter so I set it&#39;s (the original)&nbsp; emission color to yellow and added a map thats black except for the areas I want to emit light (which are white) but when I render the instance is completely invisible - as if I&#39;d set the opacity to zero? Is this an instance issue - or a misunderstanding in how emissive surfaces work?</p>

<p>But it isn&#39;t working for me. Whenever I get to the Transfer Utility step, using the same settings as in the tutorial, the Transfer Utility completely removes all the bones and weight maps from my tail figure, and winds up badly distorting the geometry. My bones are correctly oriented and named, my grafting faces are set, the vertices/faces for grafting match, both figures are using only General Weights, I&#39;ve used the figure space transfer rigging to make the Hip and Pelvis bones on the tail and Genesis 8 match... but I simply cannot fit the tail to the character without completely ruining the tail. Any ideas?</p>

      <description><![CDATA[<p>I think I know answer, but figured I&rsquo;d ask.</p>

<p>If I have an i-7 (6700k) machine from 2015 that was meant for gaming/streaming...</p>

<p>A 3DL render will send it into &lsquo;turbo&rsquo; mode at 4.16Ghz.&nbsp; I don&rsquo;t think this cpu was meant for sustained activity above 4Ghz.&nbsp; Probably overheats, or voltage issue &amp; bios tells Windows 10 to kill offending process.</p>

<p>Replicated at 5 minute 20 seconds mark.&nbsp; It does the same thing in Poser11 / Superfly render.</p>

<p>System bios on a gigabyte g3 mobo has an option to disable turbo mode, but am surprised it&#39;s not grayed out.&nbsp; Disabling &lsquo;turbo&rsquo; ---&gt; fails POST and endless loop.&nbsp; Had to reset cmos.</p>

<p>So... any options here?&nbsp; If a test in poser crashes, assuming Blender would do same?&nbsp; A script for DS to actually tell stupid CPU to <strong>*slow down*</strong> or if it&rsquo;s in bios forget it.&nbsp; <img alt="sad" src="https://www.daz3d.com/forums/plugins/ckeditor/js/ckeditor/plugins/smiley/images/sad_smile.png" title="sad" /></p>

<p>Any hints, tips, suggestions welcome.&nbsp; Very disappointing to spend time learning only the tip of the iceberg about 3DL only to find might not be able to take advantage of some of its &ldquo;NPR&rdquo; capabilities.</p>

      <description><![CDATA[<p>In a nutshell.&nbsp; I&#39;ve saved a character with a custom sculpted morph as a morph asset so that clothes will autofit.&nbsp; This was on a G3.&nbsp;</p>

<p>When saved... this copies ALL morphs from EVERY vendor in EVERY folder in here E:\CG Content\Installed Content\My Library\data\DAZ 3D\Genesis 3\Female\Morphs</p>

<p>to here:&nbsp; E:\CG Content\Installed Content\My Library\data\DAZ 3D\Genesis 3\Female\Morphs\me\Product</p>

<p>In short .. this process appears to duplicate everything.&nbsp; Is that right?</p>

<p>I ask because now the Genesis 3 base figure is corrupted and only loads with the morph asset shape loaded and un-referenced in the parameters tab.</p>

<p>AND ... ALL G3 Female characters previously saved as scenes are now loading with this shape.&nbsp;</p>

<p>Should multiple characters be saved as morph assets in the same directory?&nbsp; Because it looks like if they get their own directory, they&#39;ll each completely duplicate all morphs from all other folders over and over and over.</p>

<p>SOLUTION:&nbsp; Delete the whole product file where you saved all your morph assets.&nbsp; AND ... don&#39;t mess with ever saving ANYTHING as a morph asset again. AND turn in a bug ticket to DAZ</p>

      <description><![CDATA[<p>Hi all, sorry if this has been asked before (I&#39;ve searched..and youtubed etc.).&nbsp; Here&#39;s my problem:&nbsp; I&#39;ve bought the Renderosity zip file &#39;SF-Design The Boys Preschoolers&#39; and have tried (and failed) to get this installed into 4.1 successfully.&nbsp; I&#39;ve followed the instructions, but I can&#39;t find the content anywhere.&nbsp; At one stage, in the content library, I found them but..and here&#39;s the thing..I get the message...&quot;..An error occurred while reading the file...&quot;.&nbsp;</p>

      <description><![CDATA[<p>I upgraded my pc with a new hard drive, so now I&#39;m wondering what&#39;s the best way to re-install content?&nbsp; Is it better to use Install Manger, or the Smart Tab in daz studio?&nbsp; The two facilities don&#39;t seem to work together:&nbsp; I used the Smart Tab to install a character and Install Manager doesn&#39;t recognize that installation, meaning I could end up installing a product twice?</p>

      <description><![CDATA[<p><span>[ForbiddenWhispers Japanese Corridor and Bedrooms Environment] </span>I couldn&#39;t find a way to contact them directly, so I&#39;m hoping this is in the right place! I bought this set back when it when released and I use it a lot. I was just wondering about the NULL material. Should I hide that before rendering? I can&#39;t seem to get it lit nicely and it&#39;s driving me crazy! I am using the Poser version and I use Poser Pro 11.</p>

      <description><![CDATA[<p>Today, I tried to load an M4 base, but noticed that the lower portion of my Content Library&nbsp;was blank, and would not loadf up, after waiting.&nbsp; So I checked M3 and other content, but it diod not appear, either.&nbsp; (attachment)</p>

<p>I don&#39;t recall everything just&nbsp;not appearing, without any sign that any content&nbsp;were once there?</p>

<p>Has anyone else experienced this?&nbsp; &nbsp;Or have an idea what&#39;s happened?</p>

<p>(My Smart Content doesn&#39;t seem to display anything, either.)</p>
