      <description><![CDATA[<p>Hey!&nbsp; I reccently bought the <a rel="nofollow" href="https://www.daz3d.com/downloader/customer/files/prod/11833/">DS Dynamic Dress Shirt for M4</a> and for some reason despite it saying in the install manager it is installed it doesn&#39;t appear in my library at all?&nbsp; I tried to download some free stuff from the store to see if it did the same thing and it worked fine, however no matter how many times I reinstall this pack it doesn&#39;t load.&nbsp; I don&#39;t think the fact I don&#39;t have the proper model is an issue because I have clothing in my library that doesn&#39;t have a correct model and it downloaded fine.&nbsp; I would buy a small thing from the store to test if it works on other products, but I would really like to be able to access this shirt and I don&#39;t want to pour too much money into stuff I&#39;m not sure will even appear in the library (which is a shame bc I really need some of these packs).</p>

      <description><![CDATA[<p>I did a render that a friend liked, and for once I had saved the scene.&nbsp; Which was useful as he wanted a small change.&nbsp; So I loaded the scene, removed a weapon, replacing it with another and hit render ... then it all went very, very weird on me: the lighting went kabloooie! I messed about for ages, trying this, trying that, messing with render settings in case there was something not being save dor restored correctly.&nbsp; Nothing.&nbsp; Zip, nada, zilch made any real difference - despite getting some lighting that I preferred&nbsp; Sadly my friend liked the original state of lighting, so ...</p>

<p>Then I did something &#39;stupid&#39; and re-loaded the oriognal saved scene and just rendered that.&nbsp; And things went back to how they were.&nbsp; I hid the weapon and rendered and it all wnet very &#39;wrong&#39; again.&nbsp; The weapon in question is the Haze Tool from the <a rel="nofollow" href="https://www.daz3d.com/adventurer-s-toy-box-weapons-edition-genesis-8-female-and-male">Adventurer&#39;s Toy Box</a>.&nbsp; Apart from being quite a nice little weapon/tool, the item also adds some lighting by Emissive shaders.&nbsp; And this is what confuses the living heck out of me.&nbsp; If I have the weapon visible I get one result, hide it (or delete it from scene) and th elighting gets brighter.&nbsp; Remove light source(s) and lighting gets brighter.&nbsp; See below - both renders are done withion half an dhour or sop, with DS nbeing left open an the only chnage being to hide the weapon.&nbsp; Top half is the version without the weapon visible, bototm half is with.</p>

<p>Does anyone have any explantion?</p>

<p>I&#39;m not sure where to begin.&nbsp; (sigh)&nbsp; Explaining everything step by step would be very long.</p>

<p>So... Does anyone have any suggestions for:</p>

<p>1.) DS smart content &#39;thinks&#39; I need to install content that&#39;s already installed.&nbsp;</p>

<p>2.) The DIM wants me to download &quot;Default Resources for Daz Studio 4.9&quot; and will crash-- presumably because the default resources have already been installed.&#39;</p>

<p>Screenshots if they help.&nbsp; That, or my first ticket with tech spt.&nbsp; Stumped, but am very tired.</p>

<p>Smart content might be easily repaired via CDM?&nbsp; This isn&#39;t something I want to just &quot;guess &amp; hope&quot; with though.&nbsp; The rest of DS works which is part of the reason can&#39;t figure out this one.</p>

<p>Example that came up first.&nbsp; 200 face morphs showing as needing install, but obviously not, since I&#39;m looking right at them.</p>

<p>Path error?&nbsp; The DIM &#39;thinks&#39; I need to download a resource that appears to have already been installed.&nbsp; That might explain why DIM will crash and leads to a technical error that&#39;s beyond my expertise.</p>

<p>So i have made a hallway in blender with materials and lighting. NOW i can either import/append a DAZ model into the blender scene or export the hallway and import into DAZ as i understand it BUT which will be the easiest to do ? which method will bring the materials along?</p>

<p>Ive read up on it and frankly it seems difficult. I have managed to bring a model into the blender scene but the materials changed and i tried bringing in the hallway into DAZ but the materials did not stay linked to their original structures.</p>

      <description><![CDATA[<p>Apart from playing with dForce Essentials, I haven&#39;t spent much time with (or invested any money in) it yet. The included Bardot outfit behaves as it should, but adding a dForce modifier to anything, whether clothes or hair, always&nbsp;causes&nbsp;a CTD. &quot;DAZ Studio has stopped working&quot; etc., along with a popup that tells me my graphics driver stopped working but has recovered.</p>

<p>I&#39;ve installed&nbsp;the most recent&nbsp;drivers--from Nvidia, not Windows Update--so I doubt if that&#39;s&nbsp;the problem...unless I need to roll them back (?). My system is also fairly robust--i7 CPU, 32gb system RAM, a 1080 TI and a 1080 GTX--so I&#39;m wondering what I&#39;m doing wrong. Any advice&nbsp;would be greatly appreciated.</p>

      <description><![CDATA[<p>So I installed via DIM, then tried to use the Human IRay texture on another figure. I got a requestor telling me that I needed to install it, with the Connect install symbol overlaid. So I did that - twice. The second time it managed to install itself into my Connect library, yet when I try to get the texture to load onto my figure (merge really) it still wants to be installed.&nbsp;</p>

<p>I get most figures for their texures rather than their morphs, though I got her for both. But I really want to be able to use the texture on other figures. I have yet to try to load the figure itself, so I can&#39;t say whether or not the entire thing is broken, but if I had to bet...</p>

I wanted to switch from my old Windows machine to a new more powerfull iMac Pro.<br />
In it is a Radeon Pro Vega 64 16 GB but daz 4.10 does not show a GPU at photorealistic devices. Only the CPU.<br />
Does this mean my 10&#39;000$ mac can&#39;t do Iray scenes in daz3d? xD</p>

      <description><![CDATA[<p>Everything has been working just fine.. but all of a sudden anytime I try to start a render Daz freaks on me.&nbsp; It is set to use only my graphics card with optix acceleration.&nbsp; Texture compression is at 524/1024 as it always is.&nbsp; The render isn&#39;t complicated, and it doesn&#39;t matter what is in it (I have tried with multiple things - I have rerun renders that worked perfectly before).&nbsp; It always does the same thing.&nbsp; It starts rendering, uses a tiny bit of the gpu.. and then goes jumps to doing everything on CPU takes that to 100% usage in memory and processing power and then crashes.&nbsp; If I am lucky it might not crash and it will render very slowly using the cpu.&nbsp; The enitire time it is doing this I have sat and watched the resource manager on my computer.&nbsp; It jumps my GPU memory use by a tiny amount and then jumps right to CPU.&nbsp; It is acting like I don&#39;t have a video card at all basically.</p>

<p>Any ideas?&nbsp; Because this is getitng very old very fast.</p>

I installed genesis 8 that came free with the program but there seem to be a difference compared to previous versions of genesis. Posing arms, legs etc is very limited, for arm and legs cannot be moved individually. Do I have to buy a bundle or something to unlock to basic posing? thanks</p>

      <description><![CDATA[<p>I&#39;ve been making more clothes now that I can sim then instead of rigging them when I feel lazy. I&#39;d like to establish a lightweight base mesh to use for modeling shirts and pants from, rather than starting with primatives, and I want the base meshes to have solid topology. However, I&#39;m not sure about the best topology for pants. Right now, I have loops extending up the front about half way between the crotch and the waist, but they don&#39;t extend much above the crotch in the back. Is this a good practice, since legs mostly bend forwards? Or should I mirror my front loops to the back?&nbsp;</p>

<p>The base mesh is all quads, and all have four quad cornrs except for the five-quad corners with the verts highlighted.&nbsp;</p>

      <description><![CDATA[<p>Hello&nbsp;there,</p>

<p>I am a director looking to create an animated short using Daz3D character, prop, and environment models, some other ready-made and library prop models, and freelance animators. My target is a more &quot;realistic&quot; style (like Final Fantasy, only much, much lower budget and using stock assets).</p>

<p>I have no 3D package experience myself (except for having done a basic tutorial on Blender and watched some Daz3D videos on YouTube).</p>

<p>A number of freelancers I&#39;ve approached (who are using packages ranging from Maya to Cinema4D to Blender) have suggested that I&nbsp;have characters created from scratch instead of working with Daz3D characters. Their reasons are varied and range from:</p>

<p>- &quot;These characters&#39; mesh flow isn&#39;t quite right for rigging and animation&quot;</p>

<p>- &quot;The facial characterization is not good enough for production. We won&#39;t be able to emote them well.&quot;</p>

<p>- &quot;It&#39;ll take as long or maybe even longer to customize Daz3D characters as create our own from scratch.&quot;</p>

<p>I&#39;m having a hard time believing these comments because from what I can see:</p>

<p>- The character models are quite high poly, and if IK rigging is done right I don&#39;t see why it should be a problem animating with them.</p>

<p>- The faces seem good enough for an animated short - more than enough polys to use something like Blender&#39;s pitchipoy facial rig or even just exporting blendshapes and using those (with the tons and tons of face &quot;poses&quot; available as morphs in the Daz shop).</p>

<p>- I don&#39;t see how creating complex humanoid characters from scratch would be easier than having a solid base character from Daz and then doing the required scars, skin tone, etc.&nbsp;using customized materials, textures, skin shaders, sub-surf scattering, etc.</p>

<p>Again, like I said, I don&#39;t really have much 3D modelling/animating experience, so if anyone can shed light on the freelancer comments above and explain to me where they&#39;re coming from, I&#39;d be very grateful.</p>

<p>I&#39;m trying to use the new dForce Master presets, but for some reason the appropriate menu options to set everything up are not appearing for me. I get the Simulation Settings pane, but don&#39;t have Simulation Settings &gt; Options &gt; dForce (to add a dForce modifier) and similarly I&#39;m not getting the appropriate options in Edit &gt; Object &gt; Geometry. I have tried uninstalling and reinstalling the dForce Starter Essentials but beyond that I&#39;m lost; I had these options on the old machine and I thought I had everything back up and running.</p>

<p>I&#39;d greatly appreciate any advice as I&#39;d really like to play around with this feature on my new PC.</p>

      <description><![CDATA[<p>I am watching the DAZ 3D video of Posing and the video Hot Keys &amp; Time Saving Tips says to select the bone in the viewport and &lt;CTL&gt;-F will frame in close to the selected bone and then when you orbit the orbit will also be around the selected bone, eg, left hand.&nbsp;</p>

<p>The orbit part works but the zoom is zooming further from the left hand not close into the left hand.</p>

<p>The G8&#39;s (x, y, z) is (0, 0, -1250) so I&#39;m guessing ctl-f is zooming to (0, 0, 0) with an offset close to where the left hand should be.</p>

<p>How to make this work correctly for characters where they stand not from (0, 0, 0)?</p>

      <description><![CDATA[<p>When rendering a single G8 figure scene in IRAY it suddenly gives me this pop up. I tried changing res of render but it didnt help. everytime it gives me this pop up i have to restart Daz 3d to retry and start another render because it&#39;ll say that the renderer is in use if i try to hit the render button again. And I am unable to click anything in the viewport after it gives me this error. in fact if i try to change camera view in the view port it&#39;ll turn the view port totally white/blank. Thus it requires me to restart my daz.&nbsp;The weird thing is if i set the view port from &quot;texture shaded&quot; to &quot;IRay&quot; Iray renders propaerly in the viewport, but it wont render when i hit the render button.</p>

<p>So then i try to render a totally different scene in Iray and it seems fine. just a single male figure in daz. There are no issues. I cant figure out what the issue here is.</p>

      <description><![CDATA[<p>Hi&nbsp;guys,</p>

<p>I was wondering whether it was feasible to produce&nbsp;a full-fledged feature film of 90-100 minutes (indie production) using only bought in models and props from Daz3D and other such sites.</p>

<p>If so, what workflow would be best? I was thinking something along the lines of Daz3D export to Blender, rig with the pitchipoy body and face rig, animate using a mix of mocap (from perception neuron/iClone) and&nbsp;keyframing in Blender, then render using Cycles. Does this pipeline make sense?</p>

<p>If the idea is not feasible, then it&#39;d be great if someone could outline why not, i.e. what are the barriers to and/or issues with doing so? Also, are there &quot;cost-effective&quot; workarounds that fit within an indie budget?</p>

<p>Note: I&#39;m a cinematographer and director and have very little experience with 3D packages (save for a Blender basics tutorial and some Daz3D youtube videos).</p>

      <description><![CDATA[<p>Hi guys so i&#39;m hoping someone can help me out here. I opened daz today and i selected a genesis 8 female model and her eyes are invisable. In the content tab the eyes are selected as invisable on loading the character. I can not secet the visible option either it seems to be locked.</p>

<p>I&#39;ve tried relaoding all my content from backup, i&#39;ve deleted and reinstalled daz. It just doesn&#39;t give me an option to make the eyes visible again. I&#39;m hoping someone can help.</p>

      <description><![CDATA[<p>My C: drive is nearly full. So a friend of mine help me set up the install on my D: drive for all content. Studio 4.10 is no C: drive.&nbsp;</p>

<p>I spent a few hours of intalling content into the created folders. I can&nbsp;see the content in studio but is says it is not installed.&nbsp;</p>

<p>Did I miss a step?&nbsp;</p>

      <description><![CDATA[<p>Is there such a forum? I&#39;ve searched with the Search function. If not, I&#39;m trying to find out if the Ghost Lights can be scaled. Also, can they be rotated? And although they come with presets, can I alter the color of a light? Also, can I adjust the intensity if I want to? Perhaps someone using these lights will be able to answer my questions.       <description><![CDATA[<p>Hello, everyone,</p>

<p>I&#39;ve been rearranging my folders a little bit lately. Apparently, something must have failed.<br />
I noticed today that expressions and facial parameters are suddenly missing in existing projects.</p>

<p>Simple example, close eyes open.</p>

<p>There seems to be only the parameters I&#39;ve changed before. See picture. I&#39;m using Genesis 3 and Genesis 8, both of which are the same mistakes.</p>

<p>Do you have any ideas what I can do?</p>
