      <description><![CDATA[<p>Hi, Okay I deal with this problem once in a while and I usually just sigh and get on with it despite the ENORMOUS amount of ass it causes me.</p>

<p>I&#39;m working on this pose and open using an injection pose you can see that the XYZ axis is not aligning to where the centre of the selected body part is .. in this case it&#39;s aligned exactly to the world facing with the flow of the floor tiles. But the head (selected) should then change that axis for me to make it easier to move the head side to side or whatever. It does not .. and I now NEED to know just how to change this.</p>

<p>Please let me know how I sort this out and get the axis to behave when selecting different body areas.</p>

<p>I&#39;m using <a rel="nofollow" href="https://www.daz3d.com/modern-bed-2">Modern Bed&nbsp;2</a>&nbsp;and want to achive that a person lie under the bed cover.</p>

<p>The idea is just to move the bed cover over the person</p>

      <description><![CDATA[<p>I&#39;ve already filed a tech support note, but they said it&#39;ll be a week before they can look at it, so I&#39;m posting here too.</p>

<p>I&#39;m trying to apply the <a rel="nofollow" href="https://www.daz3d.com/aim-shoot-for-victoria-6-and-olympia-6">Aim &amp; Shoot for Victoria 6 and Olympia 6</a> pose pack to other figures, and getting a strange error. Whereas normally I&#39;d just get an odd looking pose, these come with an error box that says to check the log files. The log entry that comes up is &#39;2018-02-04 22:11:56.979 Invalid hierarchy for selected node(s) and &quot;preset_hierarchical_pose&quot; type; no root(s) found.&#39; I&#39;ve tried running the files through the Zev0 pose converter, and the converted files have the same error. I&#39;ve also tried uninstalling and reinstalling the product, to no avail.</p>

Whenever I try to import models like OBJ, I get the OBJ import options and I mess around a little bit trying each setting but when I accept the changes, no model is put into the viewer.<br />

      <description><![CDATA[<p>1) Is there a plugin or some other tool that will help me scan my massive daz3d library and 1) point out any products that don&#39;t have metadata so I can try to get them to work in smart content, and b) will go through and flag anything where the files the product needs it can&#39;t find any more and let me relocate them so it updates the path to where it is.</p>

<p>2) I render still images only - and I am wondering if Daz is the best software for that.&nbsp; So far, I really like it - the controls are intuitive(ish) to me and I have lots of content so I am a bit reluctant to say ok scrap all the time and effort and money I put into this and switch to something else.&nbsp; But at the same time, I really need to find a way to render images that are shadow heavy, and Daz really seems to suck at that (or I just am doing something wrong).&nbsp; And I would like to get into really hyper-realistic images and I am not sure if Daz can handle that, and or if that is a more render engine thing.. I have been using iray, and I like the results for most things.&nbsp; But I also notice that realism kind of sucks there at times.&nbsp; Again, I may just be doing something wrong or perhaps I am just needing a different render engine?&nbsp;&nbsp;</p>

<p>I tend to need to render things at 10800 by 7200. because I need to be able to print in 300dpi at 36x24 print sizes.&nbsp; And for the most part, Daz doesn&#39;t fight me on it.&nbsp; I have had some full, complex, scenes render in about 6 hours at that size and come out really well.&nbsp; But again, less photorealistic than I would like.&nbsp; I am thinking if I increase my texture threasholds that would help a lot?&nbsp; But if I do.. then it goes way past what my graphics card can handle and I don&#39;t have a bad graphics card.&nbsp; I have been thinking of setting up a virtual server, installing daz on it and rendering on that.. but is there a way to have my daz program on my computer and the daz program in the cloud connect or would I literally need to transfer and store my entire daz library in the virtual server.. because thats... a lot of freaking files!&nbsp; My daz library is like 750gb.&nbsp;&nbsp;</p>

<p>If it helps/matters.&nbsp; I have a&nbsp;NVIDIA&reg; GeForceT GTX 1060 6GB GDDR5 with G-Sync.&nbsp; I have space in my tower to get another video card if that would help, but I think to be able to use both cards at once you need to have the same card, and I can&#39;t shell out another $600 for that video card right now.&nbsp; I am also a little confused, I have atched my resource window when Daz renders something.&nbsp; I have 6GB of dedicated memory and 8 of shared.. so 14GB total, yet the second Daz has a scene that would use more than 4GB or so, it switches to CPU.. so for some reason it isn&#39;t fully utilizing my graphics cards capabilities and I don&#39;t know why or how to fix that.</p>

So i thought about animating the hair inside of <strong>Cinema4D</strong> but also i didn&#39;t found anything useful&nbsp;in my researches about this.</p>

<p>I am having an awful time getting shoes to work.&nbsp; I guess this is why most of the time my models go barefoot so I don&#39;t have to deal with the issues shoes bring.&nbsp; Here is what happened:</p>

<p>Loaded the DX30 pumps 4 for Genesis 8 female</p>

<p>GoZ to fix the foot so they fit inside the shoe with no poke through.&nbsp; See the Octane render showing how good they looked.&nbsp; I simply go to the show and dial down to zero the copy Zbrush morph applied to the shoe (I actually deleted this morph) and kept the foot fix morph for the Gen 8 female.&nbsp; Works great.</p>

<p>I got brave and decided it was time to pose my model and choose the Z Strike a pose -Genesis 8 female high heels Z SAP 03 pose.&nbsp; This caused a huge problem with the shoes.&nbsp; It created a jagged bumpy mess.&nbsp; I went back to the shoe and found a morph called fixed set at 100%.&nbsp; No problem, simply zeroing out this morph should bring the shoe back to normal default shape and with my foot morph applied no issues right?&nbsp; Nope, for some reason I cannot zero out this morph - see 2nd photo.</p>

<p>If I can figure out how to zero this morph out it should solve the rough shape of the shoe.&nbsp; I tried zeroing the figure out and removing all morphs.&nbsp; No dice, I tried deleting the shoes and reapply?&nbsp; No cigar, I tried deleting the shoes, zeroing the foot morph, save the scene and re-open.&nbsp; I applied the shoe...same deal no ability to zero out the fix morph on the shoe. &nbsp;</p>

<p>Why is this so difficult?&nbsp; Any help would be appreciated. &nbsp;<img alt="smiley" src="https://www.daz3d.com/forums/plugins/ckeditor/js/ckeditor/plugins/smiley/images/regular_smile.png" title="smiley" /></p>

<p>I&#39;ve encountered a rather strange situation lately... I recently, I&#39;m not sure since when, started experiencing some major performance cripple on my computer, whenever I am rendering in Daz Studio. I used to be able to use my browser and even watch videos while rendering, while now I&#39;m not even able to write a .txt file with proper responsiveness. I thought this was a consequence of my GPU swap (I had a GTX 1070 and switched to a Titan Xp, so I was thinking it was some kind of compatibility issue), but it turns out I tested both GPUs and got the same problem. Even in simple scenes with one HDRI light and one model, I get this kind of behavior. Daz Studio itself becomes laggy while rendering and even moving my viewport with Iray mode selected is difficult. What is curious, though, is that with Iray preview mode, although even moving the camera feels laggy, I have no performance hit on the computer, meaning I can set an Iray preview to resolve on my viewport while browsing the internet.</p>

<p>Is this a normal thing on the current Daz Studio/Iray/nVidia drivers version?</p>

      <description><![CDATA[<p>For the most part, I&#39;ve been very pleased with Genesis Generation X2 and its GenX2. The capability for mixing and matching various morphs has allowed me to come up with some extreme creations. However, I have been unable to transfer some of my morphs, and I think I know why.</p>

<p>As I understand it, in order to transfer morphs, you need a morph clone. For example, I have&nbsp;CloneGenesis2Female for Genesis 3 Female, and so I can transfer morphs from G2F to G3F without a problem. However, I don&#39;t have a&nbsp;CloneGenesis2Male or&nbsp;CloneGenesis3Male. And when I re-downloaded the various Genesis Starter Essentials, those clones were missing. So can I get some assistance with this dilemma?</p>

      <description><![CDATA[<p>G8F comes with a tools &quot;character addon loader.dse&quot; but G3F does not have anything of the sort. The G8F file is encrypted (... why?) so I cannot check its function to re-write a G3F version.</p>

<p>I found the docs for&nbsp;<a rel="nofollow" href="http://docs.daz3d.com/doku.php/public/software/dazstudio/4/referenceguide/scripting/api_reference/samples/elements/post_load_script_data_item/start">post_load_script_data_item</a>&nbsp;but as no surprise there isn&#39;t really enough information in there to do anything with it.. ? There&#39;s zero explanations for the &#39;post load settings&#39; window when you save a character preset either.</p>

      <description><![CDATA[<p>So I have been adding all of my third party content and custom kitbashed characters in Smart Content by creating products/editing meta data. &nbsp;One thing I noticed is that the Global ID is randomly generated and often I will try to generate a new key by refreshing it a few times. &nbsp;But I was checking logs and found that some items from DAZ are coming up with duplicate errors.</p>

<p>My question is whether or not there a utility or program that I could use to open the Database and figure out what items are duplicates. &nbsp;I have well over 100 custom products at this point, so it would be really time consuming and tedious to edit each one of those in the hopes that I can get a new unique ID for each.</p>

      <description><![CDATA[<p>I noticed that when trying to get a figure to look directly at the viewer (the camera), the render shows the eyes looking in a different direction. The rendered view of the figure is in a matching slightly different position to the one shown in the Viewport. I can work around this by making each eye Point At the camera. When I do this the&nbsp;figures eyes in the Viewport are definitely not looking directly ahead. There is clearly a difference between the Viewport &quot;camera&quot; and the Rendering camera. How can I set them to be the same? I want a WYSIWYG view!</p>

<p>In this case I am using the Full Body Camera from the PRO-Studio Lighting System set. This issue does not occur when rendering from the Perspective Camera.</p>

<p>So far I&#39;ve managed to follow Josh Darling and Sickle Yield&#39;s tutorials on rigging the basic open close parts of the door, no problem. The closer arms are causing me to stop and scratch my head. There are some joint editor options I don&#39;t quite understand, and that doesn&#39;t help either.</p>

<p>To use the body for very rough reference, lets say my door is a lower leg, with the hinge as the knee, and the static door jamb as the rest of the leg (stationary). That sounds very simple, a movement constrained to basically one rotation axis. If I understand in terms of rigging what I am trying to accomplish, the door closer arms would be like pinning a rod to the back of my thigh, attached to another rod by a swivel joint, which has it&#39;s opposing end pinned to my heel.</p>

<p>At this point I get a little lost. Maybe I am overthinking it? From what I&#39;ve read this seems to me like it could be an IK node at 2 opposing points, since the arms have to move somewhat freely between two parts that remain relatively static (the door will move but the position of the hinge remains the same, and the position of the top arm attached to the flange on the door jamb remain the same, locally).</p>

<p>When I first approached the problem I thought, Oh, I&#39;ll just parent the bones from the frame/flange-&gt;top arm -&gt; lower arm-&gt; closerbody/door... Thinking about that I realized (and I maybe I go wrong here? ) that it wouldnt work because I would animate those bones and the entire door would move off the hinges, flapping around like a dead fish. So I changed my heirachy to include one set of bones structured for just the opening and closing of the static parts of the door, and one set to include the closer arms parented to the door jamb.</p>

<p>I believe I can get these to work individually, where the user could dial their sliders back and forth on each component ( Upper, lower arms, open-close etc.) but how do I get them to work together? I would like to provide only one slider for opening and closing. So, if I rotate the door 50 percent, lets say, and I have the closer arms react to that and pose 50 percent automatically as well? I see this all the time with morphs.</p>

It was always one morph for Amber, specifically &quot;Amber Suprised&quot;</p>

<p>I located that dsf file, made a backup then deleted all content leaving a zero byte version behind.</p>

<p>That specific expression gone but others very similar remain so who cares.&nbsp; Problem gone.</p>

<p>Similar fix for a missing file that for some reason never existed. I just created a full path to a file with that name that was zero bytes.&nbsp; Figures load fine, no errors!</p>

<p>2) Where is the folder suppose to be?</p>

<p>C:\Users\Public\Documents\My DAZ 3D Library/ is where Facegen wants to find the mesh, but says it&#39;s not there. I can manually search and put in the correct location, but I have no idea what I&#39;m looking for.</p>

I set up my spacebar to do the pinning.&nbsp;<br />
I am using 7 of the STRING props - <a href="https://www.daz3d.com/strings" target="_blank" rel="nofollow">https://www.daz3d.com/strings</a><br />
Which are doing all kinds of nice bendy things.&nbsp; I like them.</p>

<p>My problem is since I am using 7 of them and they have 40+ bones each, I don&#39;t always remember when I pressed the space bar to pin one of the bones&nbsp; The button in the interface says Toggle Pins - it always looks the same in the interface, so I can&#39;t tell if I am turning a pin on or off.&nbsp; Sometimes the pins show as red push pins in the viewport when I select the whole string (but never when I select just a bone), sometimes they don&#39;t.&nbsp;</p>

<p>Even when I am positive that I have pinned something, the pose dial in the upper left of the viewport will say that it is not pinned.&nbsp; When I pin using the dial, and choose to pin both rotation and translation, when I target that specific bone in the scene, the pin on the dial turns purple, so I know that one is done.&nbsp; Pinning this way is much more of a pain than just hitting the space bar!</p>

<p>I also read some forum entries that seem to say that pinning these two different ways are different and some stay with a save and some go.&nbsp; They were older posts, so I am not sure what is true now.&nbsp;</p>

<p>Is there a way to see in the scene tree what is pinned and what is not?&nbsp; or is there somewhere else that will show all of the pins?&nbsp; And what type of pinning stays with a save?&nbsp; This project is going to take quite some time to set up, so I am saving my steps and I will go back and render everything later.&nbsp; I would hate to lose my pins if I have to change something later.&nbsp;</p>

      <description><![CDATA[<p>I really, really wish the Forum Search worked sensibly, it would save me soooooo much time.</p>

<p>Anyway, can someone help me out here? Why does my Graphics card, GTX980 suddenly not appear in the Render Settings window any more, only the CPU is showing?</p>

<p>It was there a couple of days ago, and now it&#39;s not. The card is functioning as I use it for gaming all the time.</p>

<p>Am I doing something to make it disappear or switch off? I have re-started the program several times and still no luck.</p>

      <description><![CDATA[<p>Everything was working fine when I started with dforce back in December, clothes would simulate without a problem now I get&nbsp;mutiple errors, at times Daz window pops up and quickly closes, or mostly&nbsp;Daz crashes, goes to black screen takes awhile for the computer to settle down, I don&#39;t know what has changed, I did use it without any&nbsp;problems back in December now I can&#39;t use anything in dForce!&nbsp;<br />
<br />
The strange thing is I can use the old Dynamics plugin without any problem, simulates quickly, doesn&#39;t crash and with the dynamic script from&nbsp;the other place I can use old clothing.&nbsp;<br />
<br />
I&#39;m using Daz 4.10.0.107 and I thought I read somewhere about the need to update to the new Daz...would this be the problem as right now I&#39;m sick and tired of having black screens and achieving nothing with dforce.<br />
Intel Core i7-3820CPU@3.60GHz 32GB Ram,&nbsp; NVidia GeForce GTX 670<br />
Win 10 Pro&nbsp;<br />
If anyone has an idea of what is going wrong I&#39;d certainly appreciate it.<br />

      <description><![CDATA[<p>I picked up Mimic Live before Chistmas and have finally reached the point where I am ready to use it. It didn&#39;t specify which Figures are compatible and now I have found that the only have Configuration files upt to M4/V4. I think the reason they didn&#39;t specify compatible Figures is because theoretically you can create a Configuration for any DAZ figure ... but looking at the V4 file I think this would be quite an effort.</p>

<p>Are there Configuration files floating around out there for G8 Figures?</p>

      <description><![CDATA[<p>So, I&#39;m wondering is there a way to &quot;lock&quot; an item so it cannot be selected, nor have that yellow highlight whenever you move your mouse across it.</p>

<p>Like for instance, say I load in a house or a large city scene, and I want to mess with posing figures without accidentally selecting the scene, or having that distracting yellow highlight as I&#39;m moving around the scene.</p>

<p>so is there a way to lock a scene/building so it can&#39;t be selected/highlighted?</p>
