      <description><![CDATA[<p>Just started to get&nbsp;<strong>Duplicate formula found</strong> error when loading any G3 female model, even the base figure.&nbsp; The figure loads after I hit okay and appears to be fine but wondering why this just started to happen and if there is a fix for the issue.&nbsp; G8 and G3 male have no issues.&nbsp;</p>

<p>Have my content on a secondary drive but has not had problems with that. &nbsp;</p>

<p>Error just started and have had no issues before today.&nbsp; Have uninstalled G3 and re-installed with no change. &nbsp;</p>

<p>Thank you for any help you can provide. &nbsp;</p>

      <description><![CDATA[<p>Hey guys,</p>

<p>When I try to export a hair model to FBX, it always looks really bad and cut once I import it. All of that white space is gone once I apply a proper shader in another program and the hair looks really tiny.</p>

<p>Does anyone have any tips how to fix that and export properly as FBX?</p>

<p>Okay, I fixed that by disabling &quot;Merge diffuse into opacity textures&quot;, but now I&#39;m getting another issue, which is rounded corners on the end of the hair.</p>

      <description><![CDATA[<p>i noticed something just now - no idea how long this has been going on, i hardly load G8M base by himself: <strong>whenever i want to load G8M or the dev version, the body/mesh is not the base, but that of Lucas 8</strong>. no clue why this happens, or if/when/how i did a wonky save at some point...</p>

<p>i first tried to re-save the asset after resetting the morph dials showing Lucas body/head/scale to the normal values 0% and 100% (scale). as i reloaded G8M base again, Lucas was back.<br />
so i went to DIM, deinstalled the G8M starter essentials and reinstalled them again. same thing happens - Lucas 8 appears. urgh. love the guy, but i can&#39;t get rid of him :/<br />
and it happens wherever i click the G8M icon, be it smart panel or content/people, just wanted to make sure.<br />
not a big deal to turn the 3 dials down... but i&#39;d like my start G8M neutral if possible... and maybe an explanation why this happens.</p>

<p><em>btw, using 4.10 public beta (mostly when i want to use G8, and also better iray) - i don&#39;t want to install 4.10 normal version, i can&#39;t use dForce anyways, and some lights like AoA etc still work in 4.9 only, so i run both versions. i mention this, but i don&#39;t see how this would influence my issue above anyways...</em></p>

      <description><![CDATA[<p>I don&#39;t know what happened but now I see everything in yellow in viewport, in smooth shaded mode it looks the same (yellow sufaces). But it renders in iRay as it should be.</p>

<p>But anyway it&#39;s disturbing, is that glich or I turned something on?</p>

<p>The reason for this post was to solve the issue presented above with unattached tassels not simulating satisfactorily even though I weight-mapped their ends to not simulate. I guess that doesn&#39;t work so well for unattached elements.</p>

<p>&nbsp;Here is an image of the rug geometry of a rug that I am trying to simulate. It is possible that I could add a bit of resolution to the geometry running across the rug side-to-side. The tassels are unattached geometry. It may be easier to try to just attach them. Naturally, attaching them, would add more geometry to the rug itself.</p>

      <description><![CDATA[<p>I have to rebuild my Poses categories due to a stupid error on my part. In looking through the Content Library pane in DAZ 4.9, I notice many of the product thumbnails have mostly tiny turquoise blue squares on the lower right hand corner of the thumbnail for items that are installed, and of course, greyed out thumbnails which have tiny grey squares on the lower right. When just the list is perused, I see either turquoise or grey squares. If I click on some of the thumbnails, (see attached image) The highlighted items shows a red square. I know these are very old models.&nbsp;</p>

<p>What do the little squares signify? I cannot find any documentation about these since I don&#39;t know what to call them. Also, what does the white triangle with the question mark mean? And sometimes it looks like there is a yellow dot on the left lower corner. Can anyone tell me what these mean?</p>

      <description><![CDATA[<p>Say that I wanted to model this pillow object. In some discussions I have seen reverse gravity used to puff up a pillow and have it behave as if it responds to compression when simulates. How about now if the same pillow has tassels that need to drop and simulate realistically. How would such an object best be handled? This is a technical project...</p>

<p>Would you manage the pillow puff with anti-gravity and the fall of the tassels with a wind modifier? In that case the wind would not cause the tassels to fall properly when interacting with other dsurfaces&nbsp; like gravity. Just some observations...</p>

<p>This is an older item I purchased years ago when Poser was my tool of choice. I am now using DAZ Studio. I apologize if this was covered in a different thread. If so, can someone point me in that direction? I could not find another reference to this item.</p>

<p>When I load the &#39;Bar Hyperion.crz&#39; there are very few textures. How do I get the old textures to show up in DAZ? Although an all white bar is interesting and may have a place in a different image, I need the classic look of the bar.&nbsp;</p>

      <description><![CDATA[<p>I&#39;m running into crashes with DAZ Studio a lot more than I used to. This last time was with a 10 hour render. I thought it looked pretty grainy,&nbsp;so &nbsp;when I pressed cancel to save it, the message came up that Studio had crashed. Who knows how long ago and would I care to submit a bug report.&nbsp;This is about the 3rd time this week, and I&#39;ve never previously gotten nearly as much crashes as I have with this version.</p>

<p>What can I do? I need to be able to rely on my images being ready for post work. And it seems totally random. I rendered the same image the night before successfully, but deided to remove an item, change a skin, and fabric, and the second time studio choked.</p>

      <description><![CDATA[<p>Apologies for the length of this, but it&#39;s driving me nuts!</p>

<p>Needing to add some wildlife to a new composition, I last night bought the following:</p>

<p>Rodents by AM: PolyMorph (SKU 38537)</p>

<p>Rodents by AM: Squirrels of Eastern Hemisphere (SKU 38539)</p>

<p>Rodents by AM: Squirrel Props &amp; Poses (SKU 38543)</p>

<p>Buck (SKU 334)</p>

<p>Buck Poses (SKU 1074)</p>

<p>Elusive Buck Poses (SKU 6159)</p>

<p>The first of 3 problems I had and have is that downloading via Install Manager I suddenly noticed that part of the download which hadn&#39;t been in the original product list was Hexagon 2.5. I&#39;ve never used Hexagon and don&#39;t know why I&#39;d need it, but irksomely the final part of that wouldn&#39;t download and the notification was something to do with there not being a file path and to make sure there is one under settings and applications (or that&#39;s as far as I recall), but Hexagon doesn&#39;t appear in my applications list (Windows 10 64 bit). I then found that Hexagon had appeared on my laptop so I opened it and it required a serial number. So I found the serial number in DS and copied and pasted it into the box in Hexagon only to be informed it was invalid. I tried and failed a few times. This was annoying as I just wanted to start using the squirrels and buck I&#39;d purchased. Thus:</p>

<p>Question 1: although there&#39;s no mention of it on the Rodents and Buck product pages, do I need Hexagon for something to do with these? Otherwise I don&#39;t even want it.</p>

<p>Next I&#39;ll go to the Buck problem. There&#39;s a hairless red Buck but it doesn&#39;t state &quot;Actor&quot; and there&#39;s a &#39;white&#39; Buck Map (obviously a material), but both load as models independently - ie: the Map doesn&#39;t require the Buck to manifest in an image - but if I want to add the Map to the Buck and pose and position the Buck I also have to independently pose and position the map in the exact same spot. However, the product is supposed to be a red buck and all I can get is the &#39;white&#39; mapped version or the bald red version. I&#39;m assuming that the Buck and Rodents products are ancient which is why there&#39;s no standard Actor file and then a separate Materials file, but:</p>

<p>Question(s) 2: is there an order I&#39;m supposed to apply these 2 files in order to get a red buck which is what is advertised? And is there a way to attach the Map to the Buck so that I don&#39;t have to pose and position 2 items all of the time? Or am I missing something else?</p>

<p>Finally re the Rodents, I&#39;ve just discovered while writing this that I need the Look At My Hair Free Player - as previously the squirrels had no bushy tails - but even with that now downloaded I&#39;m baffled as to what order I need to insert the various files into an image to get any squirrel furred, plus which files not to use, if any. EG: Firstly there&#39;s a Rodent PolyMorph given as &quot;Actor&quot; in one folder; next there&#39;s the 5 squirrel breeds folder which contains 3 sub-folders - Iray (which is currently irrelevant as I&#39;m using 3DL), LAMH, and Standard; then in the Materials folder there are 2 materials subfolders, the usual Iray and 3DL. I have a similar problem to the Buck product above in that the Rodent PolyMorph loads as a model (Actor), but so do the breeds without first using the PolyMorph. If I load a squirrel (without the PM) it loads coloured, but adding the material doesn&#39;t make a difference. If I only load a LAMH squirrel it takes awhile to load but I get 2 items listed under Scene: the specific breed of Squirrel plus the Squirrel LAMH Group - and these 2 items can&#39;t be parented one to the other or &#39;fitted to&#39; - so although when I apply a pose I get the 2 working together in that I get a proper if slow render (albeit that the LAMH Group doesn&#39;t change pre-render, it stays in the original pose), but if I move or scale the Squirrel, the LAMH Group stays as it is. If I want to move the animal I also have to move the LAMH Group; but if I want to scale up the animal (which is actually mouse sized and way too small for my compositions) the LAMH Group remains the 100% size despite that I&#39;ve scaled it and all children to 300% while the animal itself renders at 300% but no longer has a bushy tail and hair! Thus:</p>

<p>Question(s) 3: is there a specific order for loading these irksome files? and can one actually scale the darned rat-squirrel so that at 300% or more it actually has a bushy tail and actually looks like a squirrel?! As with the Buck above, is there a way to have the Actor and the Material connected so that I don&#39;t have to keep moving 2 items around?</p>

<p>PS: I can only find the Buck under Products in the Product Library. Is it perchance in some other obscure and illogical file/folder (as are certain other hard to locate products)?</p>

<p>This question seems so basic but I&#39;ve looked and nothing works.</p>

<p>I have a duf file with some animation on the timeline.&nbsp; I can&#39;t get rid of it.&nbsp; I don&#39;t see any keyframes.&nbsp; But it remembers this past kick that scrubs forward.&nbsp; I want a blank timeline.&nbsp; I&#39;ve literally gone through every frame and hit delete every keyframe but the animation persists.&nbsp; Does someone have a workflow that doesn&#39;t have me make a new mesh from scratch.&nbsp;</p>

<p>I just installed the 4.10 of daz studio, and I must recognize that this is surely the best version ever.&nbsp;</p>

<p>I was waiting for such an option , like in 3DS max , the simulation . As many others , I&#39;m making different tests to understand the principe, but there is one thing I don&#39;t reach to create. A wet draped.&nbsp;<br />

The thing I want to obtain, is like a drap that could show more body shapes, like if it&#39;s wet, or something like that, the goal is, for example, to see more shapes of a face below the drap. I don&#39;t understand how to do that... If someone has an idea...&nbsp;<br />

<p>I am facing a strange issue, I get missing file errors and even I installed that content 3-4 times everytime I start Daz, this occurs. Happened when I installed on SSD, Hybrid or Normal HDD. It happen when I restart my computer or restart the application.</p>

      <description><![CDATA[<p>So i havent actually been on my Daz in over a year, this has been one crazy year, but i finally got some time and a little better understanding of what it is i want to do and I jumped on the website and saw the new release and loved the genesis 8 characters and was&nbsp; like hells yeah lets do this. Nope, I didnt look around first, I didnt read any of the read me&#39;s, I didnt check to see if there were any bugs or anything i needed to mess with first I just opened my install manager hit download and wham I was a happy little clam.&nbsp;</p>

<p>Until all of a sudden Daz loaded and all my content was gone and I kept getting PostgeSqle errors. Okaaaaay?! Then i looked around tried a bit of fixing, nope that didnt work, looked some more, finally got the postgeSQle file to download, but it wont download in my install manager and it doesnt show up there either. Had to download it manually. Ok. Got it, start up 4.10 again. Yay, Upgrading&nbsp;to CMS, whoo hoo, here we go. Except. It never loads. Ever. Deep Breath Angie. You may not understand alot of this stuff, but youre not stupid, you got this. Uninstall everything, including all my previous stuff, take a deep breath restart your computer and start over. The whole weekend has been like this. I had to get away from it on sunday because i was going to start destroying my computer with a sledge hammer. My old edition is gone bye bye, I have submitted a ticket, but still havent heard anything back. I have no idea whats wrong or how to fix it, after going through all the FAQ&#39;s I could find. Please someone, ANYONE help!&nbsp;</p>

<p>I added a file of the log, but i have no idea what any of it means or how to fix it. If anyone can help me I will appreciate it forever!</p>

      <description><![CDATA[<p>I recently updated my Daz Studio to the 4.10 version; but when I went to save a scene it was giving me a weird saving location and&nbsp;thus won&#39;t let me save. So I became concerned and looked through my Documents to find my saved scenes. But they are all gone!! I looked all over my computer to see if they were saved anywhere but I still can&#39;t find them! This upsets me as I had over 100 files saved and many of which I need for school. I had saved just 2 new scenes Thursday with no troubles and could still find them. Now I can&#39;t find any of my saved scenes and Daz Studio isn&#39;t letting me save new ones to My documents! Please! Help!</p>

<p>So with some old V4 clothes, if I turn on mesh smoothing I get holes opening up in the clothes, and it looks like its happening along some unwelded seams.</p>

<p>I am a bit frustrated and need some advice/education. I recently changed my email address and when i went in to check the status of tickets that were active in the system for more than 2 weeks, they were gone. When I submitted a ticket asking about this, I get a cut and paste standard reply that isn&#39;t even close to addressing the issue reported (histoy gone) and then i get another response saying it&#39;ll be up to another 10 days before my issue will be looked at. So, now I&#39;m looking at over three weeks before they&#39;ll even look at the fact that I lost my history and I have no way to check on the tickets that were submitted and never resolved yet.&nbsp;</p>

<p>Has this happened to anyone else?&nbsp;I didn&#39;t realize that changing my password would screw with my support request history and make my open active unresolved tickets to disappear.&nbsp;</p>

<p>I&#39;m somewhat new to DAZ, I used to use Poser years ago (2003 - 2007), so there are *some* similarities.&nbsp;</p>

<p>I do have a programming background and I was wondering about the possibility of adding scripts to joints? I&#39;d like for a model&#39;s shins to bend as if they&#39;re dangling and swaying their feet forward and back.&nbsp; So some sort of sin or cos function on the figure&#39;s bend modifier on the shins.&nbsp;&nbsp;<br />
<br />
So I guess this is a loaded question:</p>

<p>1. where is the API</p>

<p>2. How could I apply a script like this (to get me started) - a rough example would be good.&nbsp; I can pick it up from there (If it&#39;s even possible).</p>
