      <description><![CDATA[<p>My iray renders crash a lot when my scene has 1 or 2 too many characters. I have Intel i7, 16GB DDR4,&nbsp;GeForce 1080Ti which has 11GB of VRAM. In my test case scene I have the following:</p>

<ul>
	<li>5x Genesis 8 characters with basic clothing/hair</li>
	<li>1 HDRI light</li>
	<li>1 simple mesh light</li>
	<li><em>No other props or objects</em></li>
</ul>

<p>I tried enabling/disabling Optix cpu acceleration, and I have only GPU selected for the render device.&nbsp;When I try the Iray preview or render, it will take about 3 minutes to load, then the video card fails forcing me to reboot. Is there a way to prevent DazStudio from crashing with large scenes? I know with 3Delight there was a trick to lower the bucket size but this is not used with Iray. If I delete 1 character, it renders fine with no crashes. When I watch the process in the prossess manager, the memory just keeps climbing above 15-16GB until it crashes. Any help is appreciated.</p>

I&#39;ve recently picked up Edward 8. When I went to load it into a new scene I received the following error: &quot;An error occurred while reading the file, see the log file for more details.&quot;<br />
<br />
I&#39;ve looked online and did the following: Uninstalled Edward8, deleted and reinstalled Edward8, and checked to see if the files were in the destination. Cycle completed over 4 times.<br />
<br />
Does anyone have an idea as to what may be going on? I can provied the log if needed too. Any and all help will be greatly appreciated. Thank you!<br />

<p>However, when executed, the block reloctates my figure to the coordinates where the the figure was when&nbsp;aniblock was created.</p>

<p>Is there any way to overcome this?</p>

      <description><![CDATA[<p>I can&#39;t seem to get the rider poses in&nbsp;<a rel="nofollow" href="https://www.daz3d.com/war-beasts-burrogen-cavalry-poses-and-accessories" target="_blank">War Beasts: Burrogen Cavalry Poses and Accessories</a> to pose the character. They pose the Burrogen but not G3F, G3M, G8F, or G8M. I&#39;ve tried selecting just the character and I get the error in the first bullet point below. I&#39;ve tried selecting just the Burrogen but the pose only works for it. I&#39;ve tried selecting both the Burrogen and the character but the pose only poses the Burrogen.</p>

<p>What I&#39;ve tried after adding the Cavalry wearable on the beast, adding a character to the scene (G3F for example), and finding the cavalry poses under Warbeast Burrogen in G3F poses:</p>

<ul>
	<li>Selected&nbsp;just G3F and tried any rider pose resulted in the error &quot;Invalid hierarchy for selected node(s) and &#39;preset_hierarchical_pose&#39;&nbsp;type; no root(s) found.&quot;</li>
	<li>Selected just the Burrogen&nbsp;and tried&nbsp;any rider pose&nbsp;only poses the Burrogen. No error is generated.</li>
	<li>Selected both the Burrogen and G3F and tried any rider pose only poses the Burrogen. No error is generated.</li>
	<li>Selected just the saddle and tried any rider pose only poses the beast. No error is generated.</li>
	<li>Selected both the saddle and G3F and tried any rider pose only poses the beast. No error is generated.</li>
</ul>

<p>Clearly I am doing something wrong, but I&#39;m out of ideas. How do I pose both the Burrogen and the character so that she becomes the rider with these poses?</p>

<p>Im sure this has been discussed before but i have yet to find an answer that satisfies what i need to do.&nbsp;</p>

<p>I want to reset everything to factory settings, not just the interface, but all the settings, everywhere.&nbsp;</p>

<p>I have tried to reinstall the program, delete the Appdata files, but somehow the settings all remain the same.&nbsp;</p>

<p>How can i use the NUKE option and just reset everything in Daz?</p>

      <description><![CDATA[<p>As the title suggested, it&#39;s <span>[FBX is]</span> only saving the bones heirarchy, not the geometry. It worked a couple of times but for some reason it stopped. I&#39;m importing into Cinema 4D (I even tried Blender, same deal), I know I could export to OBJ but I don&#39;t get the bones and the geometry is split into hundreds of separate objects. The reason I want FBX is because the times that it worked, the posing was better on the model than how Cinema handles it. I tried FBX 2011-2014 binary and ascii.</p>

<p>What&#39;s going on?</p>

it&#39;s is almost two days i have stuck with iray emissive shader,i tried to do like the tutorial&nbsp; follow his step but&nbsp; the result is not what it should be.</p>

<p>the glass door is not emit or glow like the tutorial did.it look flat like i just put red plane in there.</p>

<p>attched file is what i cant figure out what is i am missing ,iray render setting ?,or&nbsp; emissive shader setting ? it seem not complicated but i cant do it.</p>

<p>or is it a bug ?<br />
please give me an advice for solve this problem will be really appreciate.</p>

      <description><![CDATA[<p>I built a new machine copyed all of my files / props / runtime etc over everything went well Or so I thought but now its telling me I have missing files some work.. some dont I have the files in the same folder but Daz refuses to find anything other than the E drive&nbsp;</p>

      <description><![CDATA[Hi, I am completely new to 3D design and have just started working with daz as my first program and I am kind of curious if the time I am experiencing for rendering is normal. I am trying to render 2 characters with no cloths or hair in basic sets like the ruins which I think I came with daz and using a couple spot lights and rendering is taking more than an hour. I was trying to use the godray item from the store and it was only 5 percent after 45 minutes so I completely gave up with that. These are on basic resolutions as well, around 1080. Optimally, for my purposes I need much higher resolutions and I am hoping I didn't just blow 500 bucks in the store when I don't have the hardware to handle it. I tried deserting CPU in the advanced tab in rendering settings and as soon as I started it drove my CPU up to 98 percent anyhow. Is there some things I should be changing in the default settings that I might not be aware of?

<p>Now I want to overlay a custom morph to the geograft. I can&#39;t unparent the graft, since that causes it to reset to zero pose.</p>

<p>Surely, there must be a way to use the active pose and active dial settings as a source obj for Blender?</p>

<p>I can do this fine for the base genesis, but the graft will not cooperate. I believe I&#39;m missing some understanding of how DS wants me to import and export the graft when it&#39;s not in default state.</p>

      <description><![CDATA[<p>I have used Photoshop for years and have become very comfortable with working in the 300- 600 dpi range for images. I am having a hell of a time producing an image at those values in Daz&nbsp; for some reason. I went under the Render tab in the general section and typed in 2550 x 3300 dpi and the constrained proportions indicated a 8.5 x 11 image but it produced a 92 dpi monstrosity. I tried locking the proportions even typing 2550 x 3300 in the aspect ratio as an experiment as one youtuber advised yet it still didn&#39;t work. What am I missing? There must be a way to produce a specific quality and size of image in Daz Studio, could I get pointed in the right direction to do this.<img alt="smiley" src="https://www.daz3d.com/forums/plugins/ckeditor/js/ckeditor/plugins/smiley/images/regular_smile.png" title="smiley" />&nbsp;</p>

      <description><![CDATA[<p>I am quickly running out of space on my primary drive and I noticed DIM is still installing content to it. I want to move and remap my DIM folder.</p>

<p>Everything is currently in&nbsp;<strong>C:\Users\Public\Documents\DAZ 3D\InstallManager\</strong> and I want to move it to another drive (for me it&#39;ll be&nbsp;<strong>E:\DAZ 3D\InstallManager\</strong> ).</p>

<p>If I remap the download location inside&nbsp;DIM to&nbsp;<strong>E:\DAZ 3D\InstallManager\ </strong>and copy everything from<strong>&nbsp;C:\Users\Public\Documents\DAZ 3D\InstallManager\ </strong>can I then safely delete the contents of<strong>&nbsp;C:\Users\Public\Documents\DAZ 3D\InstallManager\ </strong>?</p>

<p>Also, do I need to remap anthing in DAZ itself?</p>

<p>The only way i can get them to load properly;-</p>

<p>1. Go to Content Library and right click DT-Yosemite XX</p>

<p>2. Go to Scene Tab and Delete Yosemite XX</p>

<p>3. Go to Render Tab, click the environment map and load YosemiteHDRXX.tif</p>

<p>Why is this necessary?</p>

<p>Am I doing something wrong?</p>

      <description><![CDATA[<p>There are quite a lot of hooded cloaks available but the prettiest and most convenient ones (see attachment)&nbsp;&nbsp;don&#39;t fit my ressources:</p>

<p>they require Poser or gForce. And they often come as DynamicClothing I don&#39;t like so much.</p>

<p>I want to make do with&nbsp;DS 4.6 and 3Delight still.</p>

<p>I&#39;m intending to let a K4 model the role but I don&#39;t mind to use items of another figure (Genesis, V4, Millennium Preschoolers&nbsp;... ) by working a fiddle.</p>

<p>So since&nbsp;regrettably it seems to be impossible or too difficult for me to make use of the marvellous attached&nbsp;items I&#39;m intending to give this one a try:</p>

      <description><![CDATA[<p>Hi, having an issue with a genesis 8 figure, a custom figure that I am ironing out the issues with.</p>

<p>&nbsp;</p>

<p>Issue is when using a genesis 3 outfit, particularly one that involves sleeves, full legs (ie pants) and boots. A few days back she was autofitting fine, but Ihave obviously done something that hasbroken the autofit.</p>

<p>I have placed another Gen 8 figure inteh same scene and used identical itmes on each, and where teh other figure fits perfeectly, my figure is not.</p>

<p>Whenteh Autofit dialogue comes up, I am not getting the saem options to fit the item, please see attached screenshots for examples.</p>

<p>I really would liek to figure out what has gone wrong, and I am at a personal loss right now.</p>

<p>Amy help would be most higly appreciated.</p>

      <title>Skin Builder, Skin Recipe Builder and Connect installation issues.</title>

      <description><![CDATA[<p>I have several issues.</p>

<p>1. I have Skin Builder Pro for Genesis and Genesis 2 Female(s) and when I run it it placed everthing in this location: C:\Users\NAME\AppData\Roaming\DAZ 3D\Studio4\temp\WoGens\</p>

<p>I want to direct this information to a folder location to save the textures and I cant seem to do that or tell it to.</p>

<p>2. I have everything in my D drive including all my DAZ Studio program and I set up the Installer Manager to install it all there too...I think (see the attachments).</p>

<p>I just ran the Content DB Manager to clean up and recognise the files I put into My DAZ Studio Library folder.&nbsp; All my content icons now appear in greyscale with the little Connect icon at the upper right corner. If I click it to install it then installs it on C:\Users\NAME\Documents\DAZ 3D\Studio\My Daz Connect Library\data\cloud\1_19874\people\genesis\materials\skin builder.</p>

<p>I dont want it there I want it on the D:drive, and secondly I have read in the forums here that Connect does not work with the updates that might come from the different assets. I have also read that it is better to use Install Mamager to control my installation.&nbsp; I don&#39;t know what I need to do to make it work the way I want it to.</p>

<p>I install everything on &quot;D&quot; drive is because the &quot;C&quot; drive is limited in size and I would rather just use it for the installation of Windows 10 and Office. I keep all my documents and other programs on the &quot;D&quot; drive.&nbsp; This works for me quite well for all of my other programs and files. But for some reason I cannot get the DAZ stuff to go where I want it to.</p>

<p>Can anyone help me with this issue?&nbsp; I want to figure out how to install my content, It seems that even after using Intall Manager I still end up with issues on my content not being where I want it an it has to be installed again, apparently using Connect? and I can&#39;t seem to put it where I want it, I don&#39;t have the space the on &quot;C&quot; drive.</p>

<p>So to recap...</p>

<p>1. Direct the output of Skin builder to a specific folder. How do I redirect or save the content created to a specific folder?</p>

<p>2. Issues with the Content DB Maintenance runing and then having to install using Connect. How do I controll where the content gets installed or avoid using Connect to install the content after runing Content DB Maintenance?</p>

<p>P.S I have Recipe Loader for Skin Builder and when I run it I get a message that it needs to be in the same folder as Skin Builder. How do I manage that?</p>

      <description><![CDATA[<p>I&#39;m new to Daz and have been having issues with the eyes of my rendered characters. I have been using Victoria 8 and Genesis 8 female and each time I render I get grainy eyes even though the rest of the image comes out fine. I had simply been using the preset &quot;Victoria 8 eyes 01&quot;. I tried paying around with some of the settings for the sclera but nothing fixed the issue. I then purchased the Project EYEray - Next Gen and Merchant Resource for Genesis 8. But when I selected the sclera I wanted to use, the eyes went black even after adding in the pupils. I&#39;ve managed to play aorund with them a bit and get them to a tan color so I can at least see the pupil, but I feel like I&#39;m totally missing an easy step to get the preset to work. Can anyone direct me to a video or instructions on how to manipulate this so that I&#39;m not feeling like it&#39;s a waste of money to buy presets?</p>

      <description><![CDATA[<p>I&#39;m new at this (obviously), but I&#39;m learning new things all the time, thanks to this forum. I hope you can help me solve this, for me, mystery.<br />
I bouth West Park earlier, and did a few renders. Trying to figure out the lighting and stuff. Anyway, a few days ago, I found an addon for West Park, and bought it.<br />
Not sure how to use it, but I loaded my old scene (that had some added walls), and then went to the new iray version and double clicked on it. (the one&nbsp;without the bulb)<br />
It didn&#39;t say anything, so I rendered a test, and it looked slightly different so I thought I had done it right.</p>

<p>I the turned left and started on this window. After about an hour I had a look, and, well, how do I describe it? I can&#39;t really, so it was hard to know what to search for.&nbsp;<br />
I render on that computer for 8 hours, so this was an early look at it, but would it really change that much? It just gets better after many hours right?&nbsp;</p>

<p>Hope you have some ideas, cause I&#39;m completely lost.&nbsp;<img alt="smiley" src="https://www.daz3d.com/forums/plugins/ckeditor/js/ckeditor/plugins/smiley/images/regular_smile.png" title="smiley" /></p>

<p>EDIT. I will start it again, and let it run for 8 hours. Just to make sure.</p>

      <description><![CDATA[<p>Something has happened to the Hexagon brush tools in the last update and they&#39;ve become unusable because they leave a trail behind everywhere they touch the mesh.</p>

<p>Any idea what&#39;s wrong?</p>

<p>And on a more minor note, Hexagon will not boot in full screen mode (despite being told to in preferences) and it always shows old news on booting (despite the checkbox telling it not to).</p>

      <description><![CDATA[<p>Hi,&nbsp; I set up a test scene with a Genesis 2 male figure .</p>

<p>I added two aniblocks to try a dance routine (think a modest male stripper)</p>

<p>I exported the bvh file.</p>

<p>Created a new scene , same g2m figure, selected the figure and imported the BVH file using the fefaults.</p>

<p>played the animation from the timeline and no movements.</p>

<p>&nbsp;</p>

<p>any suggestions ?&nbsp;</p>

<p>I am using version 4.10.0.107 64 bit Studio</p>

<p>Log file shows:</p>
