      <description><![CDATA[<p>Hi, I made a jacket and used rigid follow nodes to attache buttons to it. I didn&#39;t want them to be part of the mesh itself because I wanted to avoid distortion due to bends. This solution works great but recently I decided to package it up for sharing. So now rather than being a saved scene subset in my own library, I want to save it as a Figure that I can package to share.&nbsp; Done that before, but this time I ran into a problem. The buttons don&#39;t save with the jacket. Is there a way to save the whole thing as a figure, including the attached prop items?&nbsp; Thanks!&nbsp;</p>

<p>there were several Genesis starter essential updates in the past. After one of these (up to now), I observed ever the message &quot;data/daz 3d/genesis 3/female/genesis8female.dsf&quot; file missing at the end of loading the base G8F character.<br />
OK - the character loads successfully and works fine. But this message is annoying.</p>

<p>I already tried to replace the /data content with that out the DIM download zip. But no change.<br />
Someone any idea what this could be?</p>

      <description><![CDATA[<p>Hi all,&nbsp;</p>

<p>last week or so I posted here in the forum about having issues with G3 and G8 females and the selection of body parts for posing. It&rsquo;s happened again and I&rsquo;ll try to explain.&nbsp;</p>

<p>G3 and G8 load fine, will take 3rd party hand and full body poses, clothes, hair, shoes etc all conform. The issue is that when selecting individual body parts like the extremities there are no sliders to move the selected body parts. When I select the figure&rsquo;s body and hit the arrow on the&nbsp;<span>Hierarchy there is nothing in the drop down list but the hips. No hands, legs, feet, head, etc to select to pose.</span></p>

<p>The figure also doesn&rsquo;t respond to shaping, surface, posing tabs. The only thing that works is the rotation and translations. Morphs will work on the figures as well.</p>

<p>Everything else like props, presets, etc load&nbsp;and work fine the issue is the selection of individual body parts to pose or the figures.&nbsp;</p>

<p>If I need to post a screen capture I can but it doesn&rsquo;t show much more than I described.</p>

<p>I uninstalled every thing, DS, Female essentials, IM and completely did away with my library. It seems there is something corrupt the only thing is I didn&rsquo;t clean the registry or other Daz folders in the program folders on the C:/ drive so I&rsquo;m at a loss as to what to do. All graphics drivers and windows updates are current (windows 10 64-bit).</p>

<p>I run a i7 six core and have a GTX 1060 6GB card. My scenes are not complex so I don&rsquo;t think it&rsquo;s my computer since the issue lies with the Genesis figures.</p>

      <description><![CDATA[<p>I better start off by saying that this is a hobby since the very early days of Lightwave3D and the Video Toaster. I seem the remember Zygote models er something. (Almost 70 I am.) Linda and I have a store and I recently came down with an intense desire to do greeting cards of &quot;Flying Saucers.&quot; (I also do prints of other photos I have taken in the past.) So I have been adding Daz models to my arsenal and building &quot;saucers&quot; in Lightwave3D. I&#39;ve been avoiding asking questions and therefore have been banging my head agaiinst a few problems. So......</p>

<p>1. I just bought Stonemason&#39;s The Pool House. (I already had the lights.)&nbsp; A few days ago I got Lagoon Living.&nbsp; Does anyone know if they come with skys, suns and clouds? Or do I have to furnish my own?</p>

<p>2. I have been trying to navigate in Daz the way I do in Lightwave. Quickly.&nbsp; If I have a very large model at some x,y,z space (in Daz3D) I have a heck of a time trying to get a small object in that same space.</p>

<p>3. Oh!&nbsp; DIM has not been loading everything I buy and I have a very hard time with that.&nbsp; I wish I could have everything on a dedicated drive because my 250 gig system SSD is nearly full.&nbsp; I have figured out that there is a way to assign various directories somewhere in Daz3D but I keep forgetting where. (Age, what!)&nbsp; I better get these things in now and do more later.</p>

<p>But I wanted to edit the breast bumping. For me, the breasts are moving quite too far. I usually work with the breast and glute control for G3 Characters.&nbsp;</p>

<p>Is there a way to delete the breast animation and build my own on the existing animation?&nbsp;</p>

      <description><![CDATA[<p>Apologies in advance if this question reeks of noob-ness, but I have done VERY little in terms of actual modeling.</p>

<p>We know that one of the things that can make a garment, well, &quot;have problems&quot; with dForce is if its various parts aren&#39;t actually welded together correctly, intersect, etc.</p>

<p>Let&#39;s suppose I want to take an offending garment and modify its mesh to remove some of the issues.&nbsp; I can see how self-intersections could probably be handled in Geometry Editor by deleting quads.&nbsp; At least in some cases.</p>

<p>But if a garment has two pieces that need to be welded together, is there a way to do that without losing weight maps, rigging, etc?&nbsp; I mean, I know you could export the garment&#39;s mesh as an OBJ to, say, Blender or Hexagon and edit it, but how would you then bring the modified mesh back to Daz without screwing up all the weights and rigging?</p>

      <description><![CDATA[<p>After waiting literally months, I finally broke through the Nvidia waiting list and snagged a 1080ti Founders Edition. Now I&rsquo;m setting up a new pc. But my two Samsung monitors are &nbsp;6 years old and 1920x1280. I&rsquo;m thinking of getting a single 27&rdquo; or 32&rdquo; 4K monitor. Do you have any recommendations? I don&rsquo;t do gaming (though I&rsquo;m sure the 1081ti is great for that), so I&rsquo;m more interested in color rendition than ultra fast response time.</p>

      <description><![CDATA[<p>I purchased the UltraGenesis 2/3 package and follow RuntimeDNA instructions on G2F and G3F figures (V6, V7 and Others).&nbsp; The faces sometimes change a tiny bit but usually nothing happens.&nbsp; Anyone experienced with this package that would explain what I might be doing wrong?<br />

<p>Well i think I really need help with 2 issues</p>

<p>-First one is a error message appearing just starting daz studio ( daz 4.10 pro)-attached-</p>

<p>I don&acute;t understadn weel what this means, seems some problem with my Contnet forlder?</p>

<p>I&acute;ve using the same content folder for years along diferent versions of Daz, just exporting to a new one or a new reinstalation of the software.</p>

<p>But i don&acute;t know why this message appears now...</p>

<p>Anyway all seesm work as always, can load everything working... except one thing!</p>

<p>Which drives to the second problem:</p>

<p>The problem is, that despite 99% of daz stuff, this plugin or set, donesn&acute;t works after exporting the content database to the new reinstallation or cersion of DazStudio.</p>

<p>Seems somethign fails because the set is avaliable to use but doesnt work. The options to configurate the ligth are not visible and all the scene rendered looks black.</p>

<p>I instanll and reinstall the item but can&acute;t made it work as before... I don&acute;t know why. I think there must be some script that doenst loads properly but i don&acute;t what to do.</p>

<p>This does not happen every time but, when I save a character preset there seems to be like a 15% chance that it saves assets directly over the top of the base Genesis. Like I&#39;ll save an actor that I customized and when I load the normal fresh Genesis into the scene. Often times its tethered to morphs associated to my last Character Preset.</p>

      <description><![CDATA[<p>I&#39;m using DS 4.6.3.52 Pro Edition (64-bit), and I&#39;ve stumbled across some strangeness with some older Poser models (content by Vanishing Point, specifically): when I manipulate the bones of a figure (opening doors or hatches, etc), the mesh just stretches and bends like taffy. For the longest time I stayed with DS 2.3 and no such problems arose.<br />
<br />
Just trying to determine if there&#39;s a fix for it.</p>

      <description><![CDATA[<p>I don&#39;t know where else to put this so I&#39;ll ask here. I used to be able to install 3rd party content no problem but now I have forgotten how since I haven&#39;t used DS since at least 2015.</p>

<p>&nbsp;</p>

<p>1. Some content have a zip file called &quot;Runtime&quot; and I thought I&#39;d place it in <strong>Documents/DAZ3D/Studio3/content</strong> but it doesn&#39;t show up in DS, not even with the search feature. So, obviously I&#39;m installing it wrong and the ReadMe is useless. Something about right clicking the files or some such and it&#39;s not really all that in-depth on where to unzip this RUNTIME folder.</p>

<p>&nbsp;</p>

<p>2. Then I ran into another problem. Let&#39;s say I downloaded a morph for Genesis. The ReadMe tells me I should place it here: <strong>All morph files must be placed at<br />
\My Library\data\DAZ 3D\Genesis\Base\Morphs\HellFishStudios\HFS Races.</strong> There&#39;s just one problem. I don&#39;t have a <strong>My Library Folder </strong>that I can se and installing it in /content wiill not work because it doesn&#39;t show up in DS.</p>

<p>&nbsp;</p>

<p>3. As I looked through my Daz Studio Content folders, I noticed a lot of stuff is meant to be installed but it doesn&#39;t show up in DS. Such as metal shaders I had downloaded from ShareCG, but they don&#39;t show up in DS for some reason. And get this, these files are already installed. So, they should show up, but they aren&#39;t.</p>

      <title>My dForce Creations Are Exploding! Why?!</title>

      <description><![CDATA[<p>Okay, here&#39;s the thing. I&#39;ve been creating superhero-style costumes, and with the advent of DAZ dForce, I&#39;ve been working to add it to my creations where appropriate (ie, things like capes, dresses, etc). However, when I tried applying dForce to my latest outfit, I have major problems. Not only does the dForce simuation slow down dramatically, but the affected outfit explodes into a massive polygonal mess! And I have no idea why!</p>

<p>For context, here&#39;s the costume in question.</p>

<p>One thing that I have noticed is that the sections of clothing that I&nbsp;<em>didn&#39;t&nbsp;</em>weight map that are the ones that explode. For instant, the cape. I weightmapped the bulk of the cloth because I want it to be effected by the dForce simulation, but I didn&#39;t weight map the metal clasps. But when I ran dForce, it was the claps that explode.</p>

<p>Any idea what I&#39;m doing wrong?</p>

      <description><![CDATA[<p>OK.&nbsp; I just want to say that I read as many threads as I could before writing, and the solutions there didn&#39;t seem to be the problem I&#39;m having.</p>

<p>I have 32 Gb ram on an intel i7.&nbsp; Windows 10.&nbsp; My DAZ version is 4.10</p>

<p>I have two GTX 1070 cards (8 GB), not in SLI configuration.</p>

<p>With a simple scene setup, a G2 this room:&nbsp;<a href="https://www.daz3d.com/dream-street-bedroom-suite" target="_blank" rel="nofollow">https://www.daz3d.com/dream-street-bedroom-suite</a> (I mention this because I really doubt my scene has over 8 GB of data to process)</p>

<p>I added an overhead&nbsp;ghostlight, because Iray likes more light.</p>

<p>For some reason, I&#39;ve been having slow IRAY renders lately.&nbsp;&nbsp;</p>

<p>Tonight, I found out that it was rendering via the CPU, even though I only have the GPU&#39;s checked in the settings.</p>

<p>Somtimes, it will tell me it&#39;s starting with the CPU; if I close DAZ and restart, it might use my GPU&#39;s for a few minutes, then change over to CPU.</p>

<p>One time, I noticed the screen went black jsut as it switched to CPU.</p>

<p>I was concerned my cards were overheating, but I&#39;m using afterburner to keep them cool--never much over 50 C.</p>

<p>This is really vexing, as I invested in the NVIDIA cards to make rendering faster, and now I&#39;m getting slow CPU renders.</p>

      <title>Daz to Blender, to animate or render?</title>

      <description><![CDATA[<p>Hello. I used to use MJCcycles.. blender render or whatever that program was called (Sorry) but it doesn&#39;t seem to work anymore. I could import whole scenes to blender and it was really useful</p>

<p>Anyone know of how to get maybe pre-animated scenes in daz, into blender to work, or atleast get the figures and maps in and alookin&#39; good? I&#39;d love to use blender&#39;s assets like physics and particles and stuff with the excellent daz models.</p>

<p>(For example, export a fully set up clothed genesis 2 into blender, to be animated or, already animated,)</p>

      <description><![CDATA[<p>How often does DIM have issues connecting? I&#39;m logged on to DAZ store, no issue buying content. But DIM was&nbsp;refusing to log in eventually after 9 restarts it connects.. but for osme reason doesn&#39;t acknowledge the new purchases.. even if I open from the order page by clicking o download and instal with DIM. Really annoying!</p>

      <description><![CDATA[<p>I hope someone can help me with this - its driving me nuts!</p>

<p>I animate on the timeline to make a figure kneel on the floor. I then create an aniblock from this.</p>

<p>When I apply the aniblock to a figure instead of moving down to the floor, as done on the timeline. the figure starts to float above the ground when it should crouch.</p>

<p>I think the y axis information, either the body or hip translation, is not being transfered, but I cant figure out why or how I can fix it</p>

<p>Any ideas please?</p>

      <description><![CDATA[<p>When I&#39;m in the shader mixer, I&#39;m given the option to save any brick -- including grouped bricks -- as &quot;custom bricks&quot;. This would be great, except that in almost every case I&#39;m unable to&nbsp;<strong>load</strong>&nbsp;that custom brick. I save them to the specified directory, but they don&#39;t show up in the Custom Brick list in the Brickyard, even if I explicitly refresh. When I save a primitive brick it <strong>almost </strong>always&nbsp;<strong>does</strong>&nbsp;show up, but there&#39;s limited usefulness in saving a non-custom brick as &quot;custom&quot;.</p>

<p>I&#39;d really like to be able to use the capability for my brick groups, as it would make modular composition and re-use much, much easier. Other discussions I&#39;ve found on the forums indicate that this should be (or once was) possible, but nothing I try works. Does anybody know what&#39;s going on?</p>

      <description><![CDATA[<p>So I have my content folder on an external harddrive. I&#39;m stil trying to figure out this new 4.10 (confusing as heck), but I managed to add the Content folder to the Content Library list. I saved my working file, and unplugged my harddrive. Plugging it back in, I tried to load my saved file, and it said all the files were missing. The listt didn&#39;t have my Content folder as an option - I had to go and re-add it. Files were still missing. I tried to add something new to the saved file (a hairstyle) and it said there were missing files. I went into the actual folder and the files are NOT missing - they are all there.&nbsp; Am I doing something wrong here? I do NOT like this new layout! I just want everything read from my harddrive directory, and I don&#39;t understand why files are &#39;missing&#39; when they are clearly there.</p>

<p>I hope this wasn&#39;t a bunch of confusing rambling! Thanks!</p>
