Okay, I suspect I'm probably one of those edge-case-situation guys. I love the fact that Fit Control lets you add tugging-at-clothing morphs and the like to the majority of Daz Studio clothes, so that you can do things like pull the front of someone's shirt open, pull their pants-legs up, or pull their pants down. Useful for simulating someone getting dressed or undressed and the like. My problem is, a number of my projects are going to need someone to be sitting down, with their pants about their ankles... say. while sitting on the toilet. When I do this, the pants distort out and away from the character in a wierd way. Is there a way around this? Is there some other means I can use to readily do seated-with-pants-about-the-ankles stuff?

My example images are of the character with his pants pulled to his knees, but the result is the same. I adjusted the top of the pants downwards with the Fit Control morphs (pull the front down and then pull the back down), then simply applied a sitting pose. I get the same results if already in a sit pose, but I wanted to show where the pants were without the sit pose, for comparison. I poked and prodded throughout the Fit Control morph dialers and to dials in other places, hoping there was a way to counterbalance against this, but.... nothing helped.

Is there an alternative way to do what I want with pants and undies? The only alternative I'm aware of is to put him through an animation lasting 20 or 30 frames while appling dForce onto the clothes the whole time, then pick a frame somewhere a ways into the animation and make THAT the scene, but I have zero experience with running animations in DS, nevermind with applying dForce to things while doing it, and that sounds like a lot of hoops to fly throug merely to get the pants repositioned. There's gotta be another way. oO

I've been working with Daz studio for a bit and been very happy with the results but I've come against a problem.

I tried rendering out a scene last night to find this morning that it came out very dark ( no temperature differences either despite using opposing lights for this purpose ). Oddly the Aux Viewport and regular viewport do resolve a much better colored image. I've attached the pics in my google Drive account. If anyone can offer some suggestions as to what I'm doing wrong between the preivew and the finished product I'd appreciate your thoughts.

Hello all,

I'm working on hair prop, and created fibermesh hair with Zbrush, with multiple polygroups to separate surface groups when importing into Daz.

I created the figure with rigging bones, and got one figure including the whole geometry, separated with groups.

Now I'm block at the morph steps ; I brushed each sub-part in Zbrush to make separate movement dials for each strand, to pose them separately in DAZ, but I'm probably not going the right way...

I exported each morphed sub-part (strand, right, center, left etc) in a OBJ, but when importing the morph with the loader, I couldnt assign each of them to separate part of my geometry (my poly groups clearly referenced in DAZ), because it want to get the whole geometry matching each time.

Question is : do I have to play with weight influence and duplicate the entire morphs to move each part separately ?

For example do I need to export the whole posed geometry for each "global" movement, then assign wheight maps to each part, for each morph (a control dial triggering the same morph, but only for the designated face group I presume) ?

I you know the exact procedure, I'm eager to know it, being complete beginner in morphing... ^^

Thanks for your kindly help !

If interested you can read it here Anyhow, After lots of trial and error that involved removing 6 gigs of ram to stablize my machine since it also crashed while idle, I have deduced that Daz has an opengl issue. I have the newest driver and newest version of daz. I dont know if there is a beta but at this point I am willing to try. I cannot work on my webcomic with daz constantly crashing on me. Please help.

Edit: How I solved it. I had mismatched ram, that I removed. Then, because the system had such a drastic change I reiinstalled Daz and it's been sitting ready for me after 2 days. Thanks for reading and have a fantastic day.

It looks fine, but if I move the legs too far, then it causes the outfit to strech like so:
https://i.imgur.com/42Nc6B7.png

Nothing I do will make this symbol go away. Right click then Install does nothing. Updating database does nothing.

In some instances I can install the item with DIM, then uninstall it, then the item is available in the Install pane for installation. In other cases this makes no difference.

Some of the items are things that I have purchased then returned months back.

Some of the items aren't available in DIM, period.

Is there anyway to update this pane to show the correct information? It seems like its hitting dead files and I would just need to clean those out to fix this.

After updating windows 10, only one of my 1080ti GPUs is being used for rendering though both GPUs are shown and selected in the render settings!

Here the background. One of my Gigabyte 1080ti founder's edition GPUs conked out. Both were still shown but it rendered just with one. Then I replaced both of them with two Asus 1080ti Strix GPUs and it rendered with both again.

Then I had some issues with windows and used in the windows powershell admin the function "sfc /scannow", to repair my windows 10 and after it repaired my system, I updated it.

After that, Daz Studio is rendering only with 1 GPU again though both are new and worked right before.

What I did and checked then:

- Reinstalled the nvidia driver a few times and restarted the PC

- Updated BIOS

- Both GPUs are shown in device manager

- In the nvidia control panel, SLI is connected

- I disabled SLI and checked both GPUs if I get a picture, and yes I get one. So both GPUs are working and also the mainboard 16x slots are alright

- Reinstalled Daz Studio

But it's still the same! Bizarrely that if I disable SLI, Daz Studio is rendering with both GPUs. Enabling it back to SLI, and it uses again only 1 GPU.

What could be the problem?

Was away for a while, but I'm back with a new 1060 video card. I just installed it, and it's working fine, but I have one quick question.

Under render settings (advanced), should I leave both the CPU and the video carrd enabled under the hardware settings? My video card is much faster than my CPU, so I tried unclicking CPU to force everything to the GPU. When I do that, nothing renders -- it churns for a few seconds and then just stops. So now I'm wondering if I have some other setting wrong.

Anyway, thanks!

I've created a character in Blender 2.79 to be rigged and animated in Daz. In Blender I also created a skin material and fur in Cycles. It seems the only way to export the fur from Blender is to convert the particles to polygons. Before going through all that, I wanted to know if it's possible to generate combable/Dynamic hair particles in Daz. The hair would, of course, need to move with the character, I have not been able to find any info in a search just yet. I've attached an image of my character to see the result in Blender that I want to replicate in Daz.

Thank you for any advice.

It's getting really annoying to keep having to press the show desktop button every two seconds. How do I make it stop this nonsense?

How to get fine displacement skin details on Genesis, dynamic SubD ?

Hello all,

While being relatively new to this, I'm currently trying to find a way about fine displacement details on skin, and the current SubD engine is far too geometry heavy because it affects all the figure at once.

I'm working with custom characters for Genesis 3, wich got deep scars and naevus (beauty spot), and I found the geometry wasn't dense enough to efficiently use displacement mapping. I found the bump mapping visually disappointing, and wanted to get better use of displacement mapping (before figuring out Disp. SubD level is tied to entire figure SubD instead of being dynamic).

My goal is :

- Keep morphs and base figure working, for obvious reasons

- Add more geometry on small localized skin zones only (finger/elbows/knees joints, deep scars and naevus on the present case), to allow precise details for displacement map like creases and folds

- Avoid GPU getting overloaded by the SubD level of 4-5 on the entire figure, wich is not even enough to achieve precise enough results.

So what I did so far, and didnt work :

- Loaded custom Genesis 3 model with desired morphs and textures, and sent it to Hexagon 2.5

- Selecting polygons on localised zones (the ones wich receive scars and beauty spots displacement), then square-tessellated them at least twice.

- Send the model back to Daz Studio, before getting error message about morphs not working (because geometry changed). I got a white model (Hexagon for some reason correctly read textures, surface groups and so on, but refused to send back the figure with texture on).

- After some minutes trying to figure out that "update base geometry" and "add level of details" are not working either, tried the "tranfert utility", and managed to transfer the entire figure AND new geometry with "Replace source with target" option, and pretty much all other options checked.

- Now I got a posable model with all surface details on geometry as I planned, but ALL morphs are not working (despite being present on the final figure), and for some reason I appears I lost UVs in the process (despite option checked as well), leaving me with a white figure and unable to load preset materials from the library to the new figure. Entire figure correctly added detailed geometry to surface groups, without creating additional information, so it should be okay to work with textures and morphs ?

Is there a correct way to do this without losing informations in the process, or from my current state, a way to restore correct textures, and optionally working morphs (wich may be useful to correct some posing). And if I have to correct UVs, please explain precisely how to do this, provided I have near to zero experience in there ; I do know how to create different mapping but not how to warp them on the figure, and I'm not aware of the original UV mapping as well, so it could be tricky for me.
I also own Zbrush if it's more convenient than hexagon (tried it and Hex is awful working UVs).

Basically speaking, consider me as a total newbie, in auto-formation on both zbrush and Daz... ;)

Alternatively, if anybody know how to achieve dynamic SubD/displacement in Daz, I'm all ears... ^^ Maybe with geometry editor, a hidden parameter or something similar ?

Thanks for any help and/or information I certainly missed !

The end result with SubD 1, wich should achieve far better results with level 2-3 on the entire mesh, without adding too much polys :

Only the underwear is listed in the Scene tab. AAAAAAAGH!

Hello everybody,

I'm here with a simple maybe idiot question but the human knowledge has a limit sometimes, so the question is so easy. What you see in the pic is a thong swimsuit that I modeled in ZBrush for G3F. After send back to Daz Studio via GoZ, I rigged to the mesh and everything goes perfect. The only thing is after the rigging to the body the swimsuit has rigged the tight too. I know why but I would like to know how to solve. I took that pic to show you clearly what happening, but please do not start with fatherhood like sex, nudity or other amenities, I would just like to figure out how to avoid this artifact.

Thank you

Hi I installed 4.10 on a new PC whereas I have 4.9 on the old one.

When I do an Hierarchical Pose Preset it only seems to be saving the current frame - in 4.9 and earlier it always saved all frames.

What might I be doing wrong or is this now the default behaviour, if so how do I save animations in 4.10?

Does anyone else have this problem?

There are no options that come up to allow me to choose either the current frame or a range of frames.

I am sure this has been asked before, so apoligies that my search-fu is weak.

Right now, one of the frustrations I have with the Daz user interface is that when I select multiple items in the tree (e.g., a character and all the children items), and then click the eye to hide it or the arrow to make it not-selectable, it only applies to the single row I clicked. (Because I selected multiple items, I explicity wanted my change (e.g., hide the item from the viewport) to propogate to all items.

How can I do this in Daz?

This is my first time using Daz 3D. I was wondering If anyone could help me resolve an issue. As soon as I open the program I get a blank interface. Not sure if this is how the program is suppose to open. I'll go to Window, workspace, and select a layout. Whatever layout I select the program stops responding. I've tried installing the program off of the website and through the install manager. The result seem to be the same. I attached a file of the how the program appears when I open it.

I am TRYING to convert a couple of G3 figures to G8, and everything SEEMS to be working except the friggin eyelashes, it is driving me crazy. I am using the G3 to G8 morph converter tool. I have followed the instructions exactly for sure definitely second time thru, base rez, zero sub, export obj with the morphs, use converter, new scene load G8, base rez, zero sub, morphloader, settings corect, load morph, adjust rigging to fit, apply morph, everything looks great, eyelashes working etc. Close Daz, reopen figue,. still looks good. Close everything, do same thing fro a second figure (different G3 character), everything working, yay, cool. Go back, reload first, figure, eyelashes no longer following.Gaaah! Delete morph, reapply morph, eyelashes following again, save, close, reopen, eyelashes broken. Load other figure, same thing. I am about to give up but I want to figure this out. If anyone has any ideas AT ALL I am all ears.

I am really wondering if somehow making the second figure is breaking them both somehow but obviously I have no clue.

Maybe theres a better way to do all this?
