      <description><![CDATA[<p>I just bought a new computer and installed DAZ Studio and DIM. I have all my content on my external D drive which I used on my old computer. I told both DIM and DAZ what folders to find my content in and where to install it to when I download new content. My problem is, DIM shows that nothing is installed and DAZ Studio doesn&#39;t show any of my content, even though I told both the exact folders on my D drive where to find all my content.</p>

<p>Do I have to reinstall&nbsp;<em>everything</em>​ again? And will that duplicate all my content in my D drive folders? Every time I get a new computer, I have problems getting everything pulled together.</p>

      <description><![CDATA[<p>Since I never&nbsp;access my Render Library from within DS, I don&#39;t need the icons it creates automatically,&nbsp;and sometimes they&#39;re a nuisance. They&#39;re&nbsp;especially annoying&nbsp;when I make various subtle&nbsp;changes and want to compare a series of renders without icons intervening (i.e. render/icon/render/icon/render etc.). So I delete&nbsp;all the icons in the folder...and the next time I fire up DS it obligingly creates a brand-new icon&nbsp;for every render in my library!</p>

<p>I&#39;ve looked for a way to make it stop being so damned helpful but haven&#39;t found one yet. Can anyone tell me if it exists?</p>

<p>I&#39;m trying to follow a 2012 Rigging Original Figures tutorial by Blondie9999. At the start it is suggested to STOP the CMS and then RESTART&nbsp;it to ensure the &quot;save&quot; functions will work properly. Other than the pgAdmin3 app, in the PostgreSQL CMS folder, I can&#39;t seem to find this on my Mac. Even within the pgAdmin3 app I don&#39;t see a &quot;Stop Daz Content Management Service&quot; nor a &quot;Start....&quot;. Am I missing something? Is this not needed on a Mac? Is this a moot point for Daz Studio 4.10?</p>

      <description><![CDATA[<p>I have Daz dragon 3 and it used to work fine but I hadn&#39;t used Daz in a Dragon 3 and Hellborn Dragon. Spectral dragon has eyes. I deleted and re installed but the result is the same. It seems to me like the eyes are missing from the install package.</p>

<p>Any&nbsp;help would really be appreciated very much.</p>

<p>Why so many at once for Product updates? and what is being updated?</p>

<p>I know or at least&nbsp;believe DC only updates certain files but I&#39;m wondering if I should just hide the DIM shaders forever now.</p>

      <description><![CDATA[<p>I don&#39;t know why but it still suffers from the random kernel crash every so often. I was messing abound with an old outfit and genesis, nothing important and I got the blue screen of death. I checked the crash logs and it only happens when I do not run daz. I&#39;ve updated my video driver, removed the odd ram until I was down to 8gb and even uninstalled and reinstalled Daz itself in the hopes that it might be a ram mapping issue but still nothing. I&#39;ve checked my install logs for when this first started happening and didn&#39;t find a clue. But I do remeber installing and fiddling with dazin December, when it all started. There has to be something silly we&#39;re missing. Please help.</p>

      <description><![CDATA[<p>Lots of great outfits with a gap in the midriff to the hips. If I select &quot;torso&quot; and add a diffuse material and bump, darn thing goes up the neck to the ears. I just want to give impression of a tank shirt or undergarment between the end of a jacket or shirt, to the waistband of pants inside their respective hems, not as a belt. I tried to make a geoshell, but again, because of the configuration, I could not turn off the ears/neck shoulder. Is there a way to make a midriff &quot;garment&quot; that fits under the bottom of a top, and the top of a bottom? I realize there are different styles, but generally from under bust to just below crest of hip bone would work in most cases.&nbsp;</p>

      <description><![CDATA[<p>I have this happening with two environments I bought in the store.</p>

<p>I just load the whole setting and my&nbsp; view in texture shaded turns very dark. See picture below. As a comparison I give the same image with lit wireframe.</p>

<p>I have no idea why this happens and how I can get a normal view in texture shaded.&nbsp;</p>

      <description><![CDATA[<p>I&#39;ve got a scene where a figure is inside a cylinder and I&#39;m trying to get the walls of the cylinder to provide illumination to the figure. Here&#39;s what I&#39;ve done to the cylinder in the Surfaces pane so far:</p>

<p>Applied the emissive shader; set Material ID, base color, and emission color to white (255, 255, 255); then set Two-Sided Light to &quot;on&quot; and set the luminance to 100,000 lumens.</p>

<p>I haven&#39;t made any other changes and the scene still renders black. What steps could I be omitting?&nbsp; Or does the emissive shader only apply to the exterior of primitives like this one?</p>

I need a good movie theater scene, and none of the Daz friendly ones work for my needs (Movie Night Cinema doesn&#39;t look as nice as &quot;The Cinema&quot; Nor as realistic, and the Art Deco one is a bit too abstract looking for what I needed).</p>

<p>The Battle Armour for Genesis is not rendering properly, I have tried both NVIDIA Iray and 3Delight without success.</p>

<p>The steel material is a mat black and the gold looks like a dull copper.</p>

As it is now, I can decrease or increase the subdivisions manually for figures relative to how far they are from the camera, but if I change to a different camera/angle, I have to do it all over again.       <description><![CDATA[<p>When trying to create a weight map, I like to select polygon loops with the Geometry Editor, then switch to the Weight Brush Tool to enter a precise value. However, I&#39;ve run into problems where the Geometry Editor just picks random polys. If I use it as a brush, it will select polygons that aren&#39;t close to the brush, often picking things veritcally when I brush horizontally (and vice-versa), always away from where I&#39;m brushing. If I just select a region, it usually produces the weird results shown below.&nbsp;</p>

<p>Annoyingly, I don&#39;t have this problem with unrigged geometry&hellip;but when I use the Transfer tool to rig an item, it clears out the simulation data and my dForce Weight Map.</p>

<p>I can probably get away with painting this, since the selection I want is simple and doesn&#39;t involve a complicated gradient, but it&#39;s happened to me several times and I&#39;d like to fix the problem.</p>

<p>Can someone explain to me&nbsp;what maximum texture units are on my graphics card? I have a GTX 1060 6GB card and saw this looking around at the different panes at the top of daz studio. How does this relate to the size of scenes I can render? Most of my renders are of a single human figure, with clothes, hair, etc in outdoor or indoor settings. I don&#39;t use a lot of large or complex&nbsp;items in my scenes.</p>

      <description><![CDATA[<p>I bought&nbsp;<strong>H&amp;C Business Suit for Genesis 8 Male(s)</strong>. However, when I try and dress my <strong>Genisis 8 Male</strong>&nbsp;with certain articles of clothing, I get the attached message&mdash;followed by the mountain of errors you can see following the screenshot (and that&#39;s only some of them... too many to share). I have the most updated version of DAZStudio and am running on a MacBook Pro with High Sierra (v10.13.4).&nbsp;</p>

<p>I&#39;ve restarted the computer and&nbsp;DAZStudio. I&#39;ve uninstalled and reinstalled the clothes. I&#39;ve done a lot of wishful thinking and hoping. Nothing&#39;s working, not even the wishful thinking.&nbsp;</p>

<p>Help, please. This is beyond my skill level, and I&#39;m a bit of a newbie. So please don&#39;t be afraid to explain it to me like I&#39;m five.&nbsp;</p>

      <description><![CDATA[<p>Seems like it only happens to poses, where anything that was installed with DIM in now uninstalled in Smart Content.</p>

<p>Products that used to be fine, are now missing their thumbnails and need to be installed (through Smart Content) in order to be used.</p>

<p>Anyone else seeing this?</p>

      <description><![CDATA[<p>Hi all</p>

<p>I used one of the models in DAZ not sure which one of the top of my head and made her younger using an age morphing add on but her hands are massive and very old looking. Ive scaled them down to about 80% but still long fingers and big hands. Looking at her in full view it does not appear at first so big but close up it&#39;s huge.</p>

<p>Any way to reduced it proportionately ? Below are best images describing the size. Trust me when i say it&#39;s big</p>

      <description><![CDATA[<p>I had to reinstall all my content today because after the reinstall of dazStudio, mentioned <a rel="nofollow" href="https://www.daz3d.com/forums/discussion/252416/solved-daz-is-crashing-my-machine">here </a>but half my content went AWOL so I thought I would reinstall my content. Once I uninstalled it I renamed the my daz 3d library because I wanted to make sure everthing is clean, removed the renderosity stuff I bought, and reinstalled everything. However, I got this message and no content error.</p>

<p>Edit. I found the issue, I didn&#39;t reinstall all the plugins. Once I checked the DIM settings and included plugins Daz returned to normal</p>

      <description><![CDATA[<p>1) What is the exact difference between a 3Delight texture versus an Iray one?&nbsp;</p>

<p>2) If I go to Photoshop, what do I have to do to make an Iray texture?&nbsp;</p>

<p>3) Am I assuming correctly that the FilterForge textures are 3Delight? If so, I would like (if possible) to convert them to Iray using the answer that you give on question 2.</p>

      <description><![CDATA[<p>I&#39;m layering a costume, and the tutorial on the Daz 101 videos sugges that there is a collision control to separate the layers under the parameters tab in the item&#39;s dropdown menu listed after the mesh control. I cannot find it. I&#39;m running Daz 4.10, if that makes a difference (I suspect it does).</p>

<p>Where can I find the collision controls in the latest version?</p>

<p>I&#39;m trying to create new UVs.</p>

<p>Now I ran a simple test.</p>

<p>I loaded G2F and exported it with the following settings:</p>

<p>(See screenshot).</p>

<p>To test if that would work, I didn&#39;t change anything, I simply clicked &quot;Edit&quot;-&quot;Figure&quot;-&gt;&quot;Geometry&quot;-&gt;&quot;Load UV Set...&quot; and selected the just exported obj.</p>

<p>Now DAZ Studio asks me to enter a new name for the new UVs, and I entered one.</p>

<p>The next thing I see is the error message &quot;The UV map selected was invalid&quot;.</p>

<p>Shouldn&#39;t that work?</p>

<p>Does anybody spot what I might have done wrong?</p>

      <description><![CDATA[<p>I am really having problems, I have installed DSON in windows on bootcamp where my DAZ studio is, with windows versions of poser 5, 2012, and poser 11 exist. I have poser 5 in because it contains stuff I have colletec from all the years since 2001, which was given to me by a freind when I was in hospital from a broken back, as something to do.</p>

<p>I mostly use the poser 11 and 2012 in my Mac partition, I even installed DAZ studio on my Mac partition to get this DSON to work (but uninstalled it because it was staking up space) when i discovered the DSON is STILL NOT WORKING. I am so frustrated with this that people can get this to work, and I cant in windows and in OSX.</p>

<p>So I thought I would design the character using Genesis 2 female , had problem accessing the morphs with the snart content since they dont load in there.. only in the parameter dials&nbsp;and export the character as a CR2 in my poser library. Everything looks fine, textures etc... but when you go to the parameter dials,.. you cant move mouth, eyes etc.. because they are missing...&nbsp;</p>

<p>This is so frustrating it is making me cry...</p>
