<p>When I attempt to use the female bodysuit, I am told these assets are missing, and it does not work properly, instead displaying and rendering as grey bricks</p>

<p>The male super suit says the same files are missing</p>

      <description><![CDATA[<p>Hello, here comes a stupid question</p>

<p>I vaguely remember watching a tutorial video once and the uploader brought up something about an &quot;advanced distant light&quot;&nbsp;(no I&#39;m not talking about the product)&nbsp;that I&#39;ve now forgotten how to create and I can&#39;t find the video or anything about what I&#39;m trying to do anywhere.&nbsp;It could very well have actually been an advanced spotlight and not a distant light, I don&#39;t remember clearly,&nbsp;but it basically did the same thing as a distant light, except with more controls such as controlling shadow softness etc. I know there are better work arounds for that, but this is just a thing that&#39;s really bugging me atm and I would like to know.&nbsp;They were basically taking a distant light, or maybe it was a spotlight but regardless they took either of those and went to I think the &quot;create&quot; tab to apply something to it that would let them&nbsp;turn the light into what was supposed to be this advanced distant light that I&#39;m looking for.&nbsp;&nbsp;And before anyone asks, it was a relatively new video and I remember them working with Iray specifically and not 3Delight.&nbsp;That&#39;s all I can say so far... Any help is appreciated, thanks!</p>

      <description><![CDATA[<p>I have a camera that is close to the subject. But I want to widen the image to include more of the scene in the rendered image.</p>

<p>Ordinarily, I would simply back the camera up to get more of the scene. But if I back the camera up, I end up on the other side of a wall. So I can&#39;t do that.</p>

<p>So how do I get the equivalent of backing up, without actually backing up?</p>

<p>Please do not gove me an answer in terms of alanogies to what a photographer would do. I do not not anything about the camera settings that real photographers use. I don&#39;t know what fstop, depth of field and so on mean. Of course, the sliders that control Daz cameras have these names (fstop and so on), so I do expect to be told to adjust these sliders. That&#39;s fine. I just need someone to tell me what setting to apply, what sliders to asjust, without having to get a PHD in photography.</p>

<p>I am fairly new to Daz, and I am experimenting with the software, with a view to possibly using it (With the right licences, of course) in some game projects that I am working on.</p>

<p>Daz-to-Unity seems to be reasonable straightforward, but I have run into a few issues with animations.</p>

<p>I am using a Genesis 8 character (Victoria 8, with some clothing that I purchased from the store).</p>

<p>I can export the character posed but without animations, but if I try to export a character&nbsp; with an animation that changes the poses (with&nbsp;animations ticked in the export window) the characters arms don&#39;t move. The legs and body work, but the arms don&#39;t move.<br />
<br />
I have tried all of the options that I can think of in both Daz and Unity, and this just doesn&#39;t seem to work.&nbsp;<br />
<br />
Can anyone offer any advice?<br />

      <description><![CDATA[<p>I re-installed my windows and after downloading, installing and configuring my install manager, started to re install all of my packages, luckily they can be installed from my download folder but even without the need to download them again, the installation process takes ages to finish.</p>

<p>now my question is: is there a way to give daz studio the address of my installed files and let it recognize which files are already installed?<br />
I tried changing the content directory to point to the old installed files but they didn&#39;t appear in the smart content, even install manager recognize the downloaded files but doesn&#39;t recognize the installed ones.<br />

      <description><![CDATA[<p>So here&#39;s the thing, and this is something that I&#39;ve been running into a lot. If you look at the attached picture, you&#39;ll notice there is an odd greenish/blueish discoloration between the braids and along the foreheads along the girls heads. Now I know that this is part of the skull cap for the hair element, and that every hair piece has one. But some are more prominent than others, or at least they appear that way, especially when you&#39;re working with a pale skinned blonde.</p>

<p>Now, my issue is, is there a way to get rid of that shadow without making it look like the character is going bald? Is there something in the shading or something that I can adjust to remove/make invisible this shadow? I know that adjusting the fit is the usual way to do it, but when the hair doesn&#39;t use all of the skull cap, like the braids in the attached pic, then it&#39;s a little difficult to hide.</p>

<p>I&#39;m sure it&#39;s something obvious that I&#39;m missing, but I haven&#39;t been able to find anything. Could someone point me in the right direction?</p>

      <description><![CDATA[<p>I have Victoria 8&#39;s eyelashes on.&nbsp; I set the lower &amp; upper lengths to like 50000 and set the curl to 50000, but it&#39;s still not long enough, curled enough or pronounced enough?&nbsp; Anyone know how to fix this?</p>

<p>The eyelashes are too short, even if I set the length to 50,000</p>

<p>I would really like some suggestions, as I have been a bit out of the game lately when it comes to high end hardware.</p>

<p>Current specs are:</p>

<p>CPU: i7 2600K</p>

<p>MOBO: Asus&nbsp;<span>P8P67 PRO Rev 1.xx</span></p>

<p>RAM: 32GB</p>

<p>GPU: MSI (Nvidia) GTX970&nbsp;</p>

<p>All of it running on a W10 64 pro.</p>

      <description><![CDATA[<p>If I set translucuent weight to 1.0, then the base color texture is no longer shown.&nbsp; Try it for yourself on a surface. Set the base color to yellow, then set translucent color to red.&nbsp; Set translucent weight to 1.0 and your surface will be red only.&nbsp; The whole point of translucency is to show the base color on the top and then the transcluent texture beneath it right? Therefore setting translucent to 1.0 makes no sense unless it&#39;s super clear water or something right?</p>

<p>Does it make any sense to use the same color map for both base color and translucent color? I see a lot of surfaces do this, but it doesn&#39;t seem to make sense or does it?</p>

<p>For skin, the base color should be the skin texture alone, then for translucency texture it should be veins in addition to red to simulate blood capacity in certain areas yes?</p>

      <description><![CDATA[<p>I had a problem with GoZ that I made a forum post, and I fixed it.</p>

<p>I began to go back to work, and wanted to save what I worked on in Zbrush as a Morph.</p>

<p>So I did this: Save As /MorphAssets</p>

<p>This forum post here told me how to do it, but apparently it destroyed everything I ever worked on:</p>

<p>Its NOT supposed to look like that when loaded up, and I am freaking out to the verge of tears.</p>

<p>I don&#39;t know what to do!</p>

<p>No matter what I load, no matter what figure it will be, it will look like this.</p>

      <description><![CDATA[<p>I&#39;m having a problem in a environment where some parts of it are all mixed together.&nbsp;The only way to remove some undesired parts, is to change the specific surface.</p>

<p>&nbsp;</p>

<p>I was able to make disappear changing Cutout Opacity to 0, however the object keep interfering in the rendering process. Specifically when I use a geometric spot light in the disk format, a black disk appear when the camera vision pass through the&nbsp;object.</p>

<p>&nbsp;</p>

<p>How completely annul that surface? Just changing every surface property to zero is the way to go?</p>

      <description><![CDATA[<p>Hi all, I have a bunch of uninstalled content in DAZ Studio purchased from RDNA before DAZ merged with them that all shows having Metadata.&nbsp; Originally much of this content was listed as for Poser only.&nbsp; does the fact that it shows having Metadata listed mean that it can be now installed in DS also or does Poser also use Metadata in their content??&nbsp; If Poser only is there any way to remove the content installers within Daz Studio or hide them from needing to be installed?</p>

      <description><![CDATA[<p>I want to be able to launch daz&nbsp;studio from my laptop using remote desktop on my main computer. The problem is that my laptop doesn&#39;t have the required open gl&nbsp;support. So when I try to launch it I get an error about the open gl&nbsp;and Daz studio won&#39;t launch. If I start Daz studio with the main computer and then use remote desktop after studio has launched I am able to use studio with no problems. I could do this with 4.8 and had no problems.</p>

<p>Here are some ideas that i think possible might work if I can figure out how to do them, but I&#39;m open to anything that works. If there is a way to prevent daz&nbsp;from checking for open gl&nbsp;version maybe this will fix my problem. Also, there might be some way to make sure that daz&nbsp;detects the host machines open gl&nbsp;version and not my laptop/remote desktop version. Maybe there is a way to set the remote desktop to appear to have a different&nbsp;open gl version.</p>

<p>I&#39;m a little desperate here. Any solutions?</p>

      <description><![CDATA[<p>How can I alter the textures these days otherr than using&nbsp;presets, please? I am thinking of things like marks or stains on clothing. It used to be straightforward - find the original image and create an overlay or change the colours. Alos it used to be possible to introdce rips and tears by simply altering the base maps, but I can&#39;t find them inthe new systems.</p>

      <description><![CDATA[<p>I have used SingularBlues G3 to G8 Morph Transfer script to move a set of G3 morphs to G8. It did that OK. However, the set of morphs that were transfered have there own UV set. I have copied and edited that UV set so that it is in the location as the other G8 UV sets &amp; restarted DAZ Studio. However, that UV Set is not showing in the list of UV Sets in the Surfaces dropdown.</p>

<p>How do I do that correctly?</p>

      <description><![CDATA[<p>Open up Genesis 8 Female. Zoom in on her eyes.&nbsp; Go to the <strong>Sclera </strong>surface material.&nbsp; You&#39;ll notice <strong>Thin Walled</strong> is off.&nbsp; Try cranking up the <strong>SSS </strong>and other various settings and do some renders with IRAY. You&#39;ll notice they have absoultely no effect. I tried an SSS strength of 20, but nothing changed. I set thin walled to ON and still, no visible changes.&nbsp; Anyone know why? It seems the best way to adjust SSS strength on the Sclera is with Translucency, not Thin Walled off settings. Can anyone confirm?</p>

      <description><![CDATA[<p>Hi, I&#39;m sure other people know about this, so if you do know then k, if you didn&#39;t read on.&nbsp; I have noticed that the first Iray render always takes the longest in any series of renders if I am rendering&nbsp;frames or many stills of the same set.&nbsp; But&nbsp;then I discovered something pretty interesting and it saves time in renders.</p>

<p>So, basically what I have been doing is once I put my first figure in I do a render just the bare figure, I drop uber shader on it and do a render.&nbsp; I don&#39;t close the render or save it, I leave it open and just minimized so it is out of the way.</p>

<p>All other renders after that just fly, but it only works if I don&#39;t close the first render.&nbsp; Iray doesn&#39;t waste time loading that whole initializing part and simply runs into rendering.&nbsp; It has worked like this for me since I first noticed it months ago.&nbsp;&nbsp;</p>

<p>I had loaded in a figure of M6 and of course, waited while Iray initialized and loaded everything to begin the render, and then just by chance I didn&#39;t save the render but had minimized it and then tried another render and was surprised at how fast it rendered, almost half the time as the first.&nbsp; I tried this several times and could repeat the same speed results, and then I basically deleted the first render as a test and also all other renders and tried it and was met again with the loading iray&nbsp;part and it basically took 2x wait to do a full render.</p>

<p>So, if you know about it already you were probably holding out on the rest of us <img alt="cheeky" src="https://www.daz3d.com/forums/plugins/ckeditor/js/ckeditor/plugins/smiley/images/tongue_smile.png" title="cheeky" />&nbsp;or if it is already in the commons it is long buried <img alt="frown" src="https://www.daz3d.com/forums/plugins/ckeditor/js/ckeditor/plugins/smiley/images/confused_smile.png" title="frown" /> .&nbsp; But, IF you didn&#39;t know about it I hope you give it a try and see for yourself and save time on renders in the same scenarios I have mentioned.</p>
