      <description><![CDATA[<p>Recently upgraded to Daz 4.10.</p>

<p>I have just realized that the parameters that can be applied to a poseable figure - and the individual body parts of that figure - have been reduced.<br />
Previously, parameters included XYZ Scale, giving one great control over the proportions of a figure, or parts thereof. Now there is only Scale, which only increases and decreases the size of a figure or body part at its original ratio.</p>

<p><br />
I&#39;m an illustrator and heavily rely on the XYZ Scale to create extremely exaggerated figures that serve as my models.</p>

<p><br />
Am I simply missing a setting that can be turned on?&nbsp; Am I experiencing a glitch&nbsp;unique to me?&nbsp; Or will I be forced to restore an earlier version of Daz?<br />

      <description><![CDATA[<p>Is there any kind of license or other arrangement that is available for a game developer to use a figure, in the game as a base component? Say you want to use a Genesis figure in your game and the basis for your male and female characters used by the gamers themsevles. They pick the gender and then modify the morphs that they want to define their character and then use that character as their avatar in the game.</p>

<p>I am new to all of this and am curious if this is possible and where would I find that information.</p>

<p>I see how DAZ is claimed to be used in motion pictures and wondered how this might apply to gamming.</p>

<p>I recently read where this was done with Renderosity and an online VR platform.</p>

<p>Stonemason&#39;s Willow creek was the culprit in this case loading camera presets</p>

<p>but I am wondering in general what could be stored in a camera preset that makes all cameras even user added not work in Octane render?</p>

<p>a new scene with one&#39;s own camera works fine</p>

<p>but loading that preset makes any camera unuseable in Octane, the preview camera still works</p>

<p>without knowing what to look for I am lost, presumably a new feature added since my OrDS2 plugin and it affects any other cameras</p>

      <description><![CDATA[<p>Essentially most new purchases, primarily large files and popular items do that progression animation for a few seconds then switched to downloaded. When I switch tabs to view installed it&#39;s there but with the update icon in the upper left corner of the thumbnail, but I am unable to update. Also the product won&#39;t load and typically has broken thumbnails. Has anyone else seen this? The configuration is solid. Is this a server load sharing issues? I&#39;ve ran into this many, many times and stil haven&#39;t gotten a straight solution. I have opened tickets on this. Just asking if anyon else is experiencing this.</p>

      <description><![CDATA[<p>So, I am very new to this (3 weeks) and on my first creation I was making a scene with 3 females.&nbsp;&nbsp; Realtor, mother and daughter.&nbsp; The scene was to have an outside looking in but when looking through the window the certain things disappear.&nbsp; The realtor is fine from what I can see but the mother and daughter had at least one article of clothing vanish along with the daughter&rsquo;s hair.&nbsp; Realtor and mother are Gen 3 while the daughter is Gen 8.&nbsp; Realtor and mother are custom models while the daughter is Cayley morph injected.</p>

<p>Deciding what the hey I tried to render it in a low quality at first and it did show the clothing/hair there.&nbsp; So going back to viewport I decided to hide the outside window only to have everything but the girls lower half shirt reappear.&nbsp; The glass divider separating the walkway from upstairs was still making her shirt invisible.&nbsp; Understand I am happy that in the final render the clothing and hair will be there, but do I have something setup incorrectly?</p>

<p>The included possibility to do stereoscopic shots with one camera setting by using the &quot;Lens Stereo Offset&quot; is a nice feature.<br />
So far ...</p>

<p>But I noticed that the parallaxe automatically couples to the Focal Distance (if DOF set to &quot;ON&quot;).<br />
For a lot of sets I have the necessity to have different distances for the parallaxe crossing point and focal distance.</p>

      <description><![CDATA[<p>I created a scene for rendering which, when I loaded it and rendered it on my gtx970 (4.xGB of Vram), gave me a reading of close 4.00 gb of vram used.</p>

<p>I then passed the same scene, repackaged thanks to a script, to a friend who owns a gtx 1070TI (8GB of VRAM) and he rendered it. His reading was... almost 8GB of Vram used.</p>

<p>Shouldn&#39;t the same scene, using the same textures and settings in every regard, use the same amount of vram on both video boards?</p>

      <description><![CDATA[<p>So ... I&#39;m hoping to get started with dforce as I seem to have acquired a decent handful of dforce items via various bundles and whatnot. The problem is that Studio is reporting that there is no valid OpenCL device found. Fair enough ... or so I thought. After perusing various threads here and elsewhere about the issue, I seem to be at a bit of a loss as to why it&#39;s actually saying that. My current workhorse machine is using an AMD Phenom II x6 CPU with a GeForce 750ti video card. The driver version for the video card is 391.35. From what I&#39;ve been able to find, both the card specs and driver information both state that OpenCL is supported ... and inspection of the driver information via device manager clearly shows that OpenCL is place.&nbsp; So my thought was that it&#39;s not the correct version (most likely, I assume, it&#39;s v1.1).</p>

<p>My quandry is that I&#39;m wondering if there is a way to update that version to 1.2(+). I installed the latest and &quot;greatest&quot; driver from nvidia (I believe it was 398.xx), which was a catastrophy and resulted in my machine not recognizing the card at all and had to roll back. I understand that I can fall back to using the CPU for OpenCL calculations, but I&#39;m actually unsure if my CPU is capable of it. I have the latest Catalyst software downloaded (which states OpenCL 2.0 inclusion) but am finding conflicting reports about whether my particular platform is supported at all (Windows 7 Ultimate). One site states that K10 architecture is supported while another states that AMD dropped support for the Phenom II entirely. <img alt="indecision" src="https://www.daz3d.com/forums/plugins/ckeditor/js/ckeditor/plugins/smiley/images/whatchutalkingabout_smile.png" title="indecision" /></p>

<p>I suppose the crux of the matter is that I&#39;m wondering if anyone has any experience with similar situations or can perhaps shed some much needed enlightenment on the issue at hand.</p>

<p>And you guys REALLY need a one button push send report and be done alright??</p>

<p>Not everybody is interested in/has the time to be a Daz Guru. Meaning knowing every nut and bolt of how this thing works.</p>

<p>I don&#39;t want to send a report then have to explain it!! I want to send it and get a note it&#39;s fixed...</p>

<p>That&#39;s what I come to tech for.</p>

<p>Cause as I&#39;ve pointed out, I&#39;m already over an hour behind now and these crashes are happening WAY to often!!</p>

<p>Sorry for the rant. Love this software. Love the service.</p>

<p>But some more ease of flow needs to be made..</p>

      <description><![CDATA[<p>I posted this in the original scripts thread but it has not been active for a while so I thought that this might be a problem that is common to scripts so I posted here as well. I have an issue now that I did not get before when using the SG Copy Pose Animated Script. While attempting to transfer from Victoria 6 to Victoria 7 or from V4 to G3, or V5 to V7. I get the following message .</p>

<p><strong><em>general\dzscript.cpp(658): Unhandled errorwhile executing script. QscriptEngine::popContext()doesn&#39;t match with push Context()</em></strong></p>

<p>then, the script stops after converting about 200 frames and then&nbsp; V7 (G3 when used with v4 to G3) is suddenly placed to the side of V6 and has all the upper body muscularity morphs applied. I have used this script before many times to convert from V6 to V7 with animations exceeding 6000 plus frames and it worked fine. The only difference I can think of that I have now is that I istalled muscularity morphs for G8 recently. Any help would be appreciated.</p>

<p>I purchased the Charice Hair for Genesis 3 Females(<a href="https://www.daz3d.com/charice-hair-for-genesis-3-female-s" target="_blank" rel="nofollow">https://www.daz3d.com/charice-hair-for-genesis-3-female-s</a>).&nbsp; I installed it and it shows up in my Smart Contents tab, under Long hair.&nbsp; &nbsp;However, when I select the Genesis Female body&nbsp;and look for the hair, it&#39;s not there.&nbsp; If I deselect the body, then it shows up again.&nbsp;</p>

<p>Any help would be greatly appreciated.</p>

      <description><![CDATA[<p>My computer is being slow. &nbsp;The internet connection is slower on my notebook than my iPad even when using the same WiFi. &nbsp;The software such as DS, DIM, and the web browsers keep going to a (Not Responding) state for a few and then going back to a responding state. &nbsp;I have a trial of McAfee something that I cannot remember its name but having difficulty pulling it up.</p>

<p>The computer is relatively new. &nbsp;I got it in March of this year. &nbsp;</p>

<p>I might be able to see if I can start in safe mode with networking.</p>

<p>I am trying to figure out if getting the full version of Mcafee would be a good idea. &nbsp;Are they a monthly subscription or annual? &nbsp;Or is there something else that is better to work with than with Mcaffee for 3D and DS work? &nbsp; I can try malwarebytes too, but is it needed if I have mcafee?</p>

<p>hmmmm, I know that Windows says my OS is out of date, would that cause the computer to be slow and throttle the internet?</p>

<p>What software is free, legit, and safe to diagnose my computer woes?</p>

<p>If an object is inside another object does that slow down the render? I have some freebie rocks that I&#39;m using. I&#39;m not yet able to morph them, so doubled them up with just the bit I needed showing. My render is taking forever but, this is the first time I&#39;ve rendered a complete scene. After 24 hours I&#39;ve only got 96 itterations. I&#39;d normally have finished a perfect render of a Genesis 8 figure hours ago.&nbsp;</p>

      <title>The amazing disappearing shadow catcher</title>

      <description><![CDATA[<p>I&#39;ve been trying to get a ground plane to act as a shadow catcher&nbsp; (Rendering in Iray).&nbsp; &nbsp;I&#39;ve followed the nice quick tutorial on youtube, and finally got it to work doing the following steps:</p>

<p>1) Create plane, position plane under characters where the shadows should appear according to the lighing setup.</p>

<p>2)Selected its surface&nbsp;(default) in the surface panel, go over to the content library panel and double-clicked scripts-&gt;utilities-&gt;Create Advanced Iray Node</p>

<p>3)In the display parameters, set Enable Iray Matte to yes</p>

<p>4) Go back to the surface and change the difuse and ambient colors to black and the lighting method to &#39;Matte&#39;</p>

<p>5) great success!&nbsp; shadow catcher working.&nbsp; &nbsp;&nbsp;</p>

<p>So i started working on other parts of my scene.&nbsp; &nbsp;Added another character and some props and added a 2D background image to the environment panel</p>

<p>Then i noticed that my shadows on the catcher had disappeared in both the Iray viewport mode and when it renders.&nbsp; The plane is set to visible and everything looks like it is set up right, but no shadows.&nbsp; The shader settings all look correct too. I&#39;ve tried everything i can think of to get them back but with no luck.&nbsp;&nbsp;</p>

<p>So then i tried creating a new plane primative and doing all the steps again.&nbsp; &nbsp;The shadows are being cast onto&nbsp;the new plane and it is working just fine.&nbsp; But I really want to know what happened to mess up my original shadow catcher.&nbsp; &nbsp;Then things got even more weird.&nbsp; On the original plane i tried setting Enable Iray Matte back to no and set the difuse colors to a bright color, shined a big 10k lumen light right at the plane, but the darn thing refuses to catch any light.&nbsp; &nbsp;Opacity is at 100%.. Difuse 100%&nbsp; All the different lighting modes (Plastic,Metalic,Skin,Glossy)..&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;i&#39;ve tried multple shaders from the presets, nothing is working to bring the plane back from the nether.&nbsp; &nbsp;I&#39;ve tried switching Render Environs (dome, sun/sky, hdri map),&nbsp; I&#39;ve removed and reapplied the background image,&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;I&#39;ve tried closing down Daz Studio and re loading the scene, nothing has worked.&nbsp; &nbsp; . I just tried rendering in 3Delight..&nbsp; it is invisible there as well.&nbsp; It is visible in the viewport in all modes except Iray view.&nbsp; &nbsp;I&#39;ve been at this for over an hour now, sure I could&#39;ve just deleted the object and went with the newly created plane that was working fine, but I feel I must figure out what/why this happened to this poor object.&nbsp; &nbsp; Any experts here know what might have happened?</p>

      <description><![CDATA[<p>I dont know why its doing this. It looks fine in veiwport but when you go to render. It renders the specular map way whiter then it should be.</p>

<p>If I rename the map it goes away but then the missing textures pops up everytime I load this actor. I cant be having that. I did rename it once. It used to be 0001 now its 1010 That fixed it... for a second, then it came back...</p>

<p>Ive tryed resaving it in photoshop. Detelted and saved new. That didnt work. So I stripped it down to a JPG and saved in Paint, even that didnt help...</p>

<p>I realize someone else has posted something similar recently and was unsure if I should post this in that thread or not.</p>

<p>I&#39;ve recently installed Daz4.11 beta and tried experimenting with dForce only to get a&nbsp; &quot; no valid OpenCL device found&quot; message....my card and drivers are supposed to support OpenCL ....anyone know what I have to do?</p>

      <description><![CDATA[<p>The title of this discussion thread says it all. Daz Studio ships with several user interface styles -- Dark Side, City Limits,, Hollywood Boulevard, etc. How do I create my own? I know it probably involves Qt Designer. But try as I might, I can find no facility within that program for editing the UI interface &quot;style&quot; files included in the &quot;resources&quot; folder inside the Daz Studio Pro application folder. Is there any program that can edit these? And where are the actual UI widget graphics stored? Or are those hard-coded into the program? I&#39;m on both Mac and Windows, and so can take advice for ither. And on Windows, I have the Qt development environment installed. Any help is greately appreciated.</p>

      <description><![CDATA[<p>Do objects that I have hidden in the scene tab impact render times?&nbsp; I am not asking about objects outside of the camera view.&nbsp;</p>

<p>I have a room I am using for different renders.&nbsp; I have a hidden G8 Figure and some furniture that is used in one render and not others, so I hid them.</p>

<p>I am NOT hiding all the furniture outside of the camera view because I like complete lighting effect I have.&nbsp; I am only hiding the items tht are not part of the current render. At some point, I may want all of the objects and second firgure in the room, so I kept the scene file together.&nbsp; Before I break it into two different files and delete all the hidden stuff,&nbsp;I thought I would ask here. I am rendering at 4K by 4k with two mesh lights and one spot. It seems slower than ususal.&nbsp;</p>

<p>Will deleting the hidden objects improve render speed?&nbsp; And will deleting hidden objects reduce Video Card Memory consumption?&nbsp; Thanks!</p>
