      <description><![CDATA[<p>Hey there. I was trying to find a way to control Genesis 8 pupil dilation. Should be just a simple dial morphing. But can not find it. Looking through shop searching &#39;pupil dilation&#39; gave only up to G3 eyes.</p>

<p>Googling also didn&#39;t bring any tool for that.</p>

<p>&nbsp;Why no one cares? Pupil dilation, it&#39;s size tells&nbsp; a lot more about character&#39;s feeling, soul, mood, than anything else.</p>

<p>Or maybe I just looking in wrong place? Please advise.</p>

<p>I&#39;m having some issues when importing to 3ds Max. I am exporting a Genesis 8 figure (Rylee for Genesis 8 with Elisnore Hair and some body and facial morphs) as an fbx with Morphs and Animations selected (because I am modeling some armor/head gear on top of the Daz Mes).</p>

<p>When I import them, the Mesh comes out super wonky. Has anyone been able to import a Genesis 8 character to 3ds succesfully?</p>

<p>I know the Genesis 2 figures are work easily in 3ds Max but Genesis 8 is what I would like to work with :(.</p>

      <description><![CDATA[<p>Hi all,</p>

<p>I&#39;m creating a riverfront park set with a city across the river. I&#39;ve created a custom cityscape and I would like to rig it so users can easily move the cityscape to be in-frame for a variety of camera angles. I know I can rig the cityscape bone (a partial cylinder) with its origin at the scene origin, so Y-Rotate will slide it around an arc centered at the scene origin.</p>

<p>I&#39;d also like to be able to slide the cityscape closer/farther from the bone&#39;s ... to change the radius of that swing arc, without changing the scale of the image.</p>

<p>Is there an easy way to rig that change-radius for a single slider? If the swing-slider (Y-rotation) is at 0, the radius line (from the bone origin to the center of the cityscape) will be directly on the Z-axis. But if the swing-slider is not at 0, will a Z-translate move the cityscape along the bone&#39;s local-Z (directly toward/away from the bone&#39;s origin) or the global-Z? Is there a way to set and lock that?</p>

      <description><![CDATA[<p>I&#39;ve been lurking around these discussion&nbsp;groups for quite a while, trying to glean tidbits and sound advice for a replacement laptop for Studio / Poser,Vue, etc..</p>

<p>Believe it or not, I&#39;ve been doing amazing work with an older HP Envy with an i7 - 4700MQ CPU, with 2.40 GHz processor, 4 cores, with a creaky GT 740M NVIDIA card, 16GB of RAM. If I keep my scenes relatively simple, with few characters and morphs, I can usually render my work pretty quickly, under an hour, at least to my satisfaction.</p>

<p>However, it&#39;s time to upgrade.&nbsp;&nbsp;</p>

<p><strong>I&#39;m hoping to get feedback on some of the research, and ideal configurations</strong> I&#39;ve&nbsp;come up with, sufficient for my needs. I don&#39;t need to render 5- or 6-character, fully-loaded scenes within seconds. I have a bit of patience and a mid-range budget - between $2,000 to $2,300 USD.</p>

<p>Here are my ideal configurations, based on what I&#39;ve researched and what&#39;s out there. PS: the GTX 1080i is&nbsp; out of my price range, at least for now:</p>

<p>- 2.8 GHz<br />
- 17-7700HQ or i7 - 8750H processor<br />
- 6 Cores - 16 GB RAM 2400 MHz DDR4 or better<br />
- 9 MB processor cache or better<br />
- 1 TB Hard Disk Drive Capacity 1 TB<br />
- 256 GB or better SSD<br />
- NVIDIA GeForce GTX 1060 or 1070 with 6 or 8 GB dedicated video memory</p>

<p><strong>I am very, very concerned about fans noise and have been turned off by horror stories from folks complaining about overheating laptops&nbsp;and excessive fan noise.</strong></p>

<p>What else should I be focussed on? I&#39;m researching current gaming laptops, primarily, as these configurations do not&nbsp;seem to be&nbsp;available in other business-class or consumer grade laptops</p>

<p>I&#39;ve been looking at the usual brands, ie: ASUS, ACER, HP, DELL, MSI.&nbsp;</p>

<p>does anyone know why all of a sudden since some time till now, you cannot export collada files from DAZ studio? you can go all the way to &quot;File-Export-Collada...&quot; even select settings and when you click export, there is a small empty window&nbsp;poping up and when you check the file, you can see a folder with all the textures and stuff except for the important .DAE file... does anyone know why?</p>

      <description><![CDATA[<p>Other than writing a script, is there a way (i.e. through the Studio UI) to obtain the <strong><em>world</em></strong> coordinates of a particular item?&nbsp; (As opposed to the coordinates relative to its parent, which is what shows up in the UI?)</p>

<p>I&#39;ve just been bitten by the &quot;iRay doesn&#39;t render nicely away from the origin&quot; pain-in-the-ass bug, and I need to shift things around so that deeply parented objects are near the origin.&nbsp; The problem is figuring out where they are.&nbsp; And I have more than one scene in which I have to do this.&nbsp; Sigh.</p>

      <description><![CDATA[<p>I got annoyed by how disorganized and messy my figure properties section is starting to look, with the authors saving their morphs in a rather archaic way. So I decided to make some changes. Just move morphs from one group to another, without deleting any.</p>

<p>In Edit Mode I choose some properties/morphs and change their groups with Set -&gt; Property Group... But then I noticed that none of the changes I made are actually being saved.</p>

<p>So I looked here and found a guy saying that I can make my changes and use Save As -&gt; Support Asset -&gt; Save Modified Assets... But the thing is, when I load a default G3F (for example) and click on this, even without making any changes whatsoever, it shows me a list of things that will get modified and in that list I have some expressions dials from Zeddicuss, but also Genesis3Female.dsf and some Eyelashes and Mouth morphs.</p>

<p>Is it safe to overwrite them?</p>

<p>Is there a way to skip those and overwrite just the morphs I want?</p>

<p>Working on an image for a book cover and discovered this odd issue: the cap or scalp seems to be showing on his head...&nbsp;I&#39;m using Mathius hair for G3M, and rendering in Iray. I used it&#39;s own&nbsp;Iray materials on it. I&#39;ve used this hair a lot in 3Delight and not had this happen. Any ideas, tips, thoughts?</p>

      <description><![CDATA[<p>So, I just accidentally found (either through a bug or by design) that I can have multiple surfaces on an object, covering the same faces.</p>

<p>I always thought I needed LIE or a Geometry shell to do that...but apparently not (unless it is a bug).&nbsp; I was never able to do this via the Geometry tool (it would subtract faces away from one surface if applied to another surface).</p>

<p>What is the ruling on this?&nbsp; Sure, that&#39;s fine, or no, you&#39;ve found a bug that will end up giving you problems in the long run.&nbsp;</p>

<p>(I did this by having a geometry shell on a figure, exporting as OBJ and re-importing...and I get two surfaces, that act just like the shell is still there, but it does not show in the scene tab.&nbsp; Though maybe it is there, and the bug is that it is not showing?)</p>

<p>the viewport is beyond laggy, even when i barely have any G8M or G3M loaded in the scene. god forbid i put 2+ models in an environment.</p>

<p>it&#39;s a nightmare to work with Daz nowadays. rendering is even worse with a grainy result and very long rendering times.</p>

      <description><![CDATA[<p>I helped a friend test a script not that long ago.&nbsp; The script worked, but it was an earlier version of it that left some bad entries in my Smart Content.&nbsp; They have the names of clothing items, but no icon, just the blank default icon square DS uses.&nbsp; They don&#39;t load anything; they trigger the scene merge dialog, but don&#39;t actually merge anything into the scene.&nbsp;</p>

<p>Is there any way to get rid of something like this, or to &quot;refresh&quot; smart content so it checks if there&#39;s any assets associated with a smart content entry?&nbsp; Attempting to delete from the Smart Content pane so far doesn&#39;t work.</p>

      <description><![CDATA[<p>I am following a video on youtube to learn how to better light a scene and came across a really good video using planes as ghost lights.......I have an issue though, as he creates his plane he hits scripts in his menu bar and hits emissive.......I don&#39;t have scripts at all in my menu bar and I have no clue how to set that up.....as I also have no idea how to turn a plane into an emissive object or ghost light. Can someone please walk me through where I can achieve this please?</p>

      <description><![CDATA[<p>Hi! So I&#39;m new to 3D in general, but I know computers, and I know my password to all of the sites and programs I use that require a login. However, when I go to login to Daz3D it says login failed, but does not give a reason, just a blank dialog box. So I figured I might have gotten my passwords mixed up. I did not, my password is correct as I used it to login to my account on the website to post to the forum. Any help would be greatly appreciated, I want to try downloading some more mods, to see if I like those styles more than what came with the genesis 2/3 package.</p>

<p>However, I can&#39;t really do that until I can login. Any help would be greatly appreciated</p>

<p>Given a dForce item like the shirt in&nbsp;<a href="https://www.daz3d.com/hc-dforce-bikini--boyfriend-shirt-for-genesis-8-females" target="_blank" rel="nofollow">https://www.daz3d.com/hc-dforce-bikini--boyfriend-shirt-for-genesis-8-females</a>, which is open in the front, how would you &quot;pin&quot; the two halves together to simulate them being buttoned?&nbsp; So that, for example, the shirt would be held together at the bottom 2-3 buttons&#39; position, but left open above that?&nbsp; What do you add to the shirt, and what are the steps?</p>

      <description><![CDATA[<p>My figure&#39;s toes have become invisible, I think by some footwear product, but I can&#39;t track down which.</p>

<p>I have checked for all hidden parameters and found nothing.</p>

<p>The toes are not set as invisible in scene tab.</p>

<p>They are clearly not &quot;posed&quot; as you can still see the outline when selecting the surface, and the polygons are selectable with the geometry editor where they should be.</p>

<p>The surface is set to full cutout opacity with no map.</p>

<p>I&#39;m at a complete loss as to why they&#39;re invisible.</p>
