      <description><![CDATA[<p>Hi! I&#39;m new here, and I have a really big problem... I have 2 computers, And the same problem on both of them. When rendering an image, the CPU gets to 100&deg;C, it&#39;s gonna fry, any help with this?&nbsp;<br />
Here are the specs of both my computers:<br />
1) gtx970, 16gb RAM, i7 4790k - Gets CPU to 100&deg;C<br />
2) gtx1050ti, 8gb RAM, i7 7700 - Gets CPU to 95&deg;C<br />
<br />
I don&#39;t want to burn my CPU&#39;s, but also I want to make some nice pics and trying to make a game :/</p>

      <description><![CDATA[<p>Okay, I&#39;m rendering the product with Millenium Dragon 2 in 3DL and here&#39;s what I get: the wireframe is showing, thing I guess should be not supposed to do. I tried using a stone shader and this doesn&#39;t happen, but the result on the rock is less realistic than with the original texture. The picture is going to be printed in large size ad attached to the wall on the arrival of my house&#39;s basement&#39;s stair, to greet the visitors... so I would like it to be as realistic as possibile. Any suggestion?</p>

<p>I recently started using &#39;Create Goup&#39; to group my items in a scene. If you creae a, for example, lgiht&nbsp;group then try to add a&nbsp;newly created light to that light group then that new light moves position as soon as it&#39;s entered the group. The simple solution is to only create the group after creating all the lights but we are often not that organised. I know I&#39;m not. Am I doing something wrong or is there a better workaround other than knowing exactly what you&#39;re going to do later?</p>

      <description><![CDATA[<p>So now that GIMP 2.10 has some 32 bit tools to load exr and change exposure, etc...has anyone done a tutorial on using it?&nbsp; :)</p>

<p>I can make and load them...and I found the old Focus Blur plugin, but not sure the proper steps here.</p>

<p>Also, not sure if there is a &quot;correct&quot; exposure setting for all images for depth maps, or just go with something between -10 and -14?</p>

My hardware is a gtx 1070 ti, and im not using the cpu; my rendering settings are, 1920 x 1080p, architectural sampler and caustic sampler turned on, note that ive tried rendering with these turned off and i still have the same result. 98 rendering coverage, 5 render quality, 10000 max time, 14000 max samples.The image is also after around 2 hours and a half of rendering.</p>

      <description><![CDATA[<p>Hi everyone. So after reading all the big deal about iray stuff, I built a new pc.. faster cpu, more ram, and even a 4 gb graphics card. But still for the likes of me, I can&#39;t see what the big deal is. I mean when I render it still seems 3Delight is a better choice. Not to mention it&#39;s faster. Is iray just all about lighting? I also notice it don&#39;t do so hot with the older models. I tried using it with the Daz Bear.. when I added the map.. it looked like a spotted leopard..lol But for the record,,the new build does help DS in general scoot along quicker :o)</p>

Is there any way to stop the process?&nbsp;When the image begins to take form there is no problem cancelling but before that has begun, how do I stop the process?&nbsp;If it is a complicated scene it can take som time before the image starts to appear and I would like to stop the render immediately.</p>

      <description><![CDATA[<p>Typing this on a 5-year-old MacBook Pro. Works great, but iRay performance blows goats (all CPU - the puny GeForce on this thing just ain&#39;t got the &#39;oomph.)&nbsp;<br />

Go to buy a new MBP, and guess which manufacturer went with Radeon instead of NVIDIA?&nbsp;<br />

So... I have a new Acer Aspire 7 shipping to my house. Intel Coffee Lake CPU, GeForce GTX 1060 GPU, 32GB RAM, etc. I figure that oughta put some pep into the ol&#39; render times, and a 17&quot; screen is something I sorely missed all these years (trust me - if Apple had put a GTX 1060 into a 17&quot; form factor MBP, we would not be having this discussion...)<br />
<br />
However... Windows 10. Stop laughing. Obviously not MacOS, right? I&#39;m getting too busy and too old of late to Hackintosh anything, so aside from the&nbsp;requisite tweaks to disable all the spyware/bloatware/unused-services/auto-update crap...&nbsp;<br />
<br />
...what else is needed, per se? Yes, the obvious <em>&quot;download the &#39;doze version of DS you idiot!&quot;</em>, and such&nbsp;(and I&#39;m guessing a new download of the Reality plugin is in order... though I don&#39;t use it much these days.)<br />
<br />
<strong>The point of this missive is as follows</strong>:&nbsp;<br />
What I&#39;m looking for&nbsp;is war stories of file format issues, plugins and scripts within the content tree that went &#39;splat, things like that. Shouldn;t be a big deal, but I want the gotchas out of the way ahead of time :)&nbsp;<br />

      <description><![CDATA[<p>Hi, I know this has been asked before but those threads seem to be talking about 3Delight. I&#39;m using NVIDIA Iray and my ground shadow has gone. I don&#39;t seem to be able to get one back without switching on Dome. I&#39;ve always used a ground shadow with Alpha channel then put a background on in Photoshop. Was I just not using NVIDIA Iray before or am I missing something?</p>

      <description><![CDATA[<p>I have a large desktop machine with a pair of Nvidia 970 cards installed. The cards are bridged. According to the device manager, both cards are on the same revision driver.</p>

<p>I have a bear of a render to work on. It is multiple hours and pretty much locks the machine up with 98/99% CPU utilization. What is suprising is that the video cards are not being touched. 1% on one and the other is at 0% (according to the resource monitor). Where do I go to ensure that DAZ 4.10Pro knows that there are two cards installed, and both are availble for its use?</p>

      <description><![CDATA[<p>I keep trying to make a map for my character and Zbrush keeps doing this mess.&nbsp; Why?&nbsp; Any ideas?&nbsp;&nbsp;</p>

<p>Why does it have to be so difficult and stupid.&nbsp; You Polypaint, you create textures from that Polypaint...why would it do that?&nbsp;</p>

<p>Is Mudbox or Surface easier than this and not have bugs like this?</p>

<br />
This causes the store to break if you try to use your store credit as well.&nbsp; This will be a nightmare for all customers using their Gift Certificates or Store Credit.</p>

<p>I&#39;ve been using Carrara steadily for several years and with it have developed some Generation 4 characters which I love.&nbsp; Now I would like to use them in Daz Studio.&nbsp; What is&nbsp;the easiest way of transferring them from Carrara to DS?&nbsp;&nbsp;</p>

<p>Collada export didn&#39;t work for me.&nbsp; The only thing I could think of was to export my M4 character as an object with morphs, which worked well as far as it goes.&nbsp; But now I have a static object in DS with no rigging.&nbsp; I need to either be able to easily rig the.obj, or to transfer those specific morphs to another rigged M4 (or newer)&nbsp;figure.&nbsp; Does anyone know the best way to solve this?</p>

Only problem, the mouse pointer is illuminating scene element surfaces, as it will when Surface Selection tool is used, but it&#39;s happening with every tool, like Node Selection, Universal tool. Any time I move the pointer across the viewport, it lights up any surface it crosses. Very distracting, and didn&#39;t happen on my old rig.</p>

<p>I didn&#39;t see any &quot;Edit preferences&quot;&nbsp; categories to account for it, but I don&#39;t know if it&#39;s Studio reacting to my new machine, or the new machine itself:</p>

<p>Anyone come across this issue? The computer is a Lenovo w530 i7.</p>

<p>for some reason, my renders have gone so slow it&#39;s just not funny. &quot;IRAY &nbsp; rend progr: 0.03% of image converged<br />
2018-09-13 11:07:05.400 Iray INFO - module:category(IRAY:RENDER): &nbsp; 1.0 &nbsp; IRAY &nbsp; rend info : Received update to 00541 iterations after 39921.883s.&quot; That&#39;s over 11 hours for 0.03% it&#39;s a scene with a single G8M, Morning Star Wings, Curly hair,&nbsp;Moon&nbsp;bow and an arrow. pixel size is 2500sq. No hdri but using dome set to midnight in England, December&nbsp;I&#39;ve got spot lights pumped up to 1000% and &nbsp;and set to large circles. Every surface has a light hitting it to some intensity. What is going on?</p>

<p>I alwasy get this error too that I&#39;ve always just ignored. &quot;Iray WARNING - module:category(IRAY:RENDER): &nbsp; 1.0 &nbsp; IRAY &nbsp; rend warn : Expecting restart after abort. Frequent abort and resume in batch mode can severely reduce performance.&quot;</p>

<p>I&#39;ve messed up DAZ, and I want to know,&nbsp;how can I uninstall Daz Studio completely?&nbsp;</p>

<p>I miss everyrthing in Smart Content, I cannot find none of the objects I&#39;d&nbsp;installed&nbsp;using the install manager.</p>

<p>Can you tell me which files/directories or registry entries, needs to be removed to perform a clean installation, to reverse the correct&nbsp;bahaviour of the application?</p>

<p>I just got the above product <span>[RW Wood Nymph for Genesis 2 Female(s)] </span>and no matter how I try to load the textures, it seems they&#39;re not mapping correctly or something.&nbsp; Here&#39;s a screenshot:<br />

<p>No difference if I choose Default UVs or Wood Nymph UV Set, and I even tried exporting the textures and flipping them around to see if something was backwards or whatnot but nothing looked any better.&nbsp; I also tried playing with the Offsets and Tiling to no avail.&nbsp; It&#39;s only affecting the two highlighted surfaces, &quot;Perch_Large&quot; and &quot;Perch_Small&quot;; the Dress texture looks fine.&nbsp; Wondering if anyone has any other ideas...thanks</p>

<p>I am studying how to do a simulation of clothes with a model type genesis 3/8.<br />
In theory, there is no major problem WITHIN Daz., As well as importing .obj sequences from Marvelous Designer.<br />
This is a big problem if we want to export to glweb type formats, such as glTf, babylon, etc.<br />
That is, there is no real &quot;existence&quot;, since they are cache formats.<br />
Let&#39;s say, an animation of a model genesis with an export with collada or fbx. I have no major problem in passing it to Blender or Maya / Motion Builder ... because they assume that there is a geometry with bones, and takes the reference only of the variants of rotation, translation, etc. with a reasonably sized file. A genesis 3 with animation bvh or aniBlocks, with a compression of textures, and about 350 frames, does not reach about 6Mb, fantastic thing.<br />
Not so with dynamic clothing.<br />
Despite having tried with free Optiflex clothes, which has a bone rigging, the result is the same. If I want to pass that animation to glTF, it&#39;s static.<br />
The only solution that is valid, at least in my tests, is to pass everything to a .obj sequence with the size of exaggerated Mb and not optimal for glWeb.(Maybe, around 400Mb +/-..)<br />
Despite using some scripts based on Morph Loader pro, nothing happens as if it were a figure with a hierarchy of bones or joints.<br />
The secret would be to make clothes with an internal structure similar to that of the figure that accompanies it (You already know: hip, abdomen, spine, etc ...)<br />
This is quite complicated when we have a .obj type clothes, despite scripts like AniMorph or DynCreator, which exclusively work within Daz, and do nothing more than a &quot;render&quot; simulation.<br />
This question is really complicated, because my experience with other software is similar. It is only designed for 2D rendering, and, like other users, with problems for Unity or Unreal in video games, it is traumatic to obtain a clothing no longer than the &quot;stuck&quot; or fit to the body. I understand that in video games, we must prioritize the cost of minimum polygons acceptable for fluency.<br />
In this case, what is sought is a structure model for clothes independent of morphs.<br />

      <description><![CDATA[<p>I&#39;ve been trying to get mjcteleblender to work but keep having the same issue. It exports the object and materials fine from DAZ but doesn&#39;t create the matLib.blend file which is essential for it to import the materials into Blender.</p>

<p>When I run the mjc script in Blender it just brings in the scene without materials and the script fails at&nbsp;mcjBlendBot.loadfix( &quot;F:/daz_tests/scene.obj&quot;, &quot;CYCLESMATS&quot;, &quot;F:/daz_tests/matLib.blend&quot;, True ) because matLib.blend doesn&#39;t exist.</p>

<p>I&#39;m on an unusual setup in that it&#39;s a work PC and I don&#39;t have admin rights. I getb temporary admin rights when I need to install something. Could this be the issue?</p>

<p>DAZ (4.10) is&nbsp;installed on my C drive (solid state) and my DAZ Library (and the mjc scripts) are in c:\\Users\Public\Public Documents\My Daz 3D Library</p>

<p>I run Blender from my F drive (disk) and it runs like a portable App (i.e. not installed in the registry).</p>

<p>Both&nbsp;the mjc and the blender scripts seem to work fine it&#39;s just that no matter what options I try, or destination paths I choose, the matLib.blend file isn&#39;t created.</p>

<p>I&#39;m on Windows 10 64-bit. Any thoughts.</p>

      <description><![CDATA[<p>When I go to delete a hair or clothing prop on G8F, every time my scene freezes up and it takes *way too long* to delete, and that&#39;s if I&#39;m lucky--95% of the time it freezes to the point of no response, and I have to force crash DAZ. This also happens when I go to autofit items, again with G8F, from G8M or from Genesis 3.</p>

<p>Is it DAZ? What is going on? Is anyone else having this problem? This didn&#39;t use to happen. 4.10.0.107 is my current version--and I&#39;m guessing it&#39;s DAZs too, cause I can never tell when DAZ actually updates Studio and I don&#39;t know how to check, either. :\</p>
