      <description><![CDATA[<p>Not sure if this is the right place or not but I think this needs to be brought to the attention of the devs. In the 4.11.0.196 Public Beta normals have divots. Even solid normals. However this is NOT occuring in 4.10.0.123 Pro version.</p>

<p>The attached picture is the same shot, the green bar background has normals at 0. The grey background has normals at 0.1.</p>

      <description><![CDATA[<p>I have a big External Drive with lots of empty space.</p>

<p>I have DAZ Studio with the Content Library located on my C: Drive.</p>

<p>Now that I updated the DIM, it wants to upload some 40 Gig of content to my Library.</p>

<p>This would leave me with 20G free on the C: Drive.</p>

<p><br />
How can I....</p>

<p>1) Move my existing content to the new external (H:) drive and make sure that DAZ can find it.</p>

<p>2) Ensure that when I tell the DIM to upload the 40 gig of content that it uploads to the new location where My DAZ Library will be stored.</p>

<p>3) Thank you.  A search using the Terms [Move DAZ Library External Drive] yielded no results.  However, once the answer is here, it will be easy for everyone with a storage issue.</p>]]></description>

I dont know how to put the idea in correct words, but what I&#39;m after is a way in Iray to put some texture (say, a street scene) on a plane primitive, then put this primitive outside a window, and have it emitting light like and old slide photograph so I can control how intense this light is on my scene.&nbsp;</p>

<p>I guess this is possible with Iray? It would be something like making it into HDR (but on a plane). I&#39;m looking around for hours but couldnt find anything related.<br />

Emissive Iray doesnt work since it will emit just one color, not the image colors.&nbsp;<br />

<p>I`m making a cloathing for Genesis 8 Female and Victoria 8. I used transfer utility to transfer rigging, weight maps, morphs... I also had to add extra bones.</p>

<p>It works as it should except when I load Victoria 8. She has slightly diferent bones, bigger, and when I load Victoria my cloathing messes up. All the bones that transfer utility made follow as they should but my extra added bones don`t. They just stay where they were as all the others rise a bit up because Victoria is taller.</p>

<p>My extra bones work as they should when I pose Victoria 8 but when loading her new bones dont change.</p>

<p>I hope that is clear enough. Extra bones follow the rest of the rig as they should except when loading Victoria, which makes my product unuseable for Victoria.</p>

<p>Does anyone know why is that happening? I tried on a friends system the same thing on Genesis 8 male and Michael 8 and the same thing happens.</p>

<p>i use the G8M Base to sculpt a desired morph and most of the times i change how he looks drastically, everything works fine and i add hair/clothes, etc.</p>

<p>after i save and close daz, i re-open the saved model and everything is fitted wrong, the hair is either flying away from the model and most of the clothes are too small or too big.</p>

<p>this never used to happen to me before.</p>

<p>any help is very appreciated.</p>

      <description><![CDATA[<p>Rendering in DAZ Studio 4.11+ when I had about 21GB free on a 1.81TB sshd drive that I save my renders to &amp; store all my content library to. It is an internal D: drive. DAZ Studio itself is installed on my C: but the documents folder it users is also on my D: drive.</p>

<p>Sometime during the render disk space free decrease from about 21GB free to only 1.97GB free. I canceled the render &amp; exited DAZ but that didn&#39;t free up the 18GB disk space. I did change iRay render optimization from speed to memory but I don&#39;t know if that was the cause of the problem because I didn&#39;t notice disk space had almost disappeared. It was 21GB as recently as this morning.</p>

<p>How can I get this 19GB back! Is it maybe hidden in Windows swap to file? I&#39;ve already run disk cleanup but that finds notice because it&#39;s not a file(s) under management by the Windows OS.</p>

<p>OK, I found that rebooting freed actually 39GB total so quite a massive amount...and it doesn&#39;t get freed until reboot makes me think it must be Windows swap file.</p>

<p>my system is win7/16GB</p>

<p>Now I&acute;m working for 3 years fine with an Nvidia GTX960(4GB) but reach the borderline more and more (crashes, white screens, blue screens...).</p>

<p>I decided to buy the GTX1080Ti(11GB) and increase my RAM to 32GB.</p>

<p>Is it possible to work with both of them and make it sense and will Iray work faster than? If so, will my PC know about two GPUs or have I tick anywhere?</p>

<p>Is it possible to project one model&#39;s base mesh and vertex count(In ZBrush for example)&nbsp;on to another base model(then reimport to Daz) so the poses will work and I&#39;m not so limited by compatibility?</p>

<p>What exactly causes the incompatibility of similar human figures? Is it solely the vertex count and positions of the vertices?</p>

<p>For a while now I haven&#39;t been able to see the wireframes of objects in the viewport. I have probably just ticked a box somwhere that I should have left unticked, but I&#39;ve searched everywhere both within DazStudio and on the web to find a solution, but without success..</p>

<p>So.. Simply put: All the different views in the viewport look as they should (with a few exceptions). The left image below is &quot;Texture Shaded&quot;, the middle one is &quot;Lit Wireframe&quot; and the right image is how it looks when selecting either &quot;Wireframe&quot; or &quot;Wireframe Hidden&quot;. I just double checked and &quot;Solid Bounding Box&quot; and &quot;Wire Bounding Box&quot; also show up as the far right image (=empty).</p>

<p>Anyone knows what might be the problem?<br />
This is driving me insane..</p>

<p>Fist of all thank you VERY MUCH for adding a &quot;dirt and stuff&quot; skin to your caracter. It&#39;s such a useful feature and should be STANDARD for new characters sold for more than 19$ (example: 1 sunburned, 1 out of a brawl, and 1 &quot;I just spent a week on survival mode in the forrest&quot;.</p>

<p>However, the description is not very clear, so, my question about Ragna. Comes Ragna with gen material or &quot;Barbie mode&quot; with no gen material?</p>

<p>Got a bit of a wierd issue that I can&#39;t seem to solve on my own.</p>

<p>I was happily working away this afternoon on a G3M figure, shaping his body and fine tuning etc.&nbsp; One time when I returned to the Shaping tab it is completely empty.&nbsp; I have no text in the search box at the top, and I have not (to my knowledge!) changed any settings.&nbsp; Like I say I was in the moddle of working when this happened.&nbsp; No other tabs are affected and are working fine.</p>

<p>Any ideas as to what has happened?&nbsp; I am sure its something pretty trivial, but I just cannot work it out!</p>

I click/tick the files for download, then I click/tick the files for install (I use 2 steps instead of 1 because the 1 step process started giving me issues this year). The files say they are installed. But the products do not go into my Content Library. They are available through Connect, but some products have problems with Connect; so, I avoid using it.</p>

<p>Is this just me or has something changed? Do I need to download DIM again?</p>

<p>But it when I load a character and dial the pimples, I lose the teeth and when I dial the teeth I loose the pimples.&nbsp;</p>

      <description><![CDATA[<p>Hi, ive always used IRAY but just recently, when i set a render going, it won&#39;t start...it sit&#39;s there and does nothing. Ive reset the settings from what I had put in, and still nothing. I can use GPU, and 3d Delight...but for some reason IRAY isn&#39;t. I have restarted the program sometimes as many as 5 or 6 times, and i can get lucky and it will start, but i wanted to know if there&#39;s been an upgrade recently, or if there&#39;s something I&#39;ve missed or not had ticked that I didn&#39;t know about.       <description><![CDATA[I have been researching this for far too long. Over a year of videos, Forums, trouble shooting, and exploring. I just want to be able to bring Gen 8 into maya, add an animation to it, then bring it back into daz3d. 

I have tried the gen to gen 3 to gen 8 route. 

I have tried the FBX export using motion builder route 

I have tried putting the animation through maya into into blender, exporting out as a bvh then putting it back into daz

The one that came the closes was the last one. Being able to put a daz character into maya, add a animation to it, then exporting it out as a fbx. Upload it to blender then export out as a bvh then put into daz. The problem is the bones

During this process gen 8 has too many bones in their arms and legs. It messes up the mesh in with the animation file. A small adjustment of deleting the extra bones in maya would leave the character incompatible when put back into daz3d.

If you deleted the bones in daz then trasfered over to maya, the missing bones are for the rotation of the arms. So the bending of the arms and legs work but there is no rotation. My question is.

Is there a way to add roation to the joints of the arms in daz3d? 

Is there a way to merge the two joints into one? To have both the bend and the twist?

Can I add a twist node to them?

Is there a simpler solution i am missing???]]></description>

<p>So the problem is, if i, in the view port, choose NVIDIA iRay instead of my normal &quot;Texture Shaded&quot;, iray initializes and then starts to render in the view port, this works all fine, BUT</p>

<p>if i click on the RENDER button, daz studio hangs for about 20 minutes until it starts to render, this only happens if i have a lot of objects inside my scene, now the thing i don&#39;t understand is:</p>

<p>why does this not happen when rendering in my view port? and why does it happen when i click the render button? From what i can see is that while daz studio hangs, it has a extremely high disk useage, so either it searches for files or bytes inside files, or it reloads all objects, or something else, but as the view port rendering does NOT cause this problem, i ask myself, is this supposed to be like this? As it does not make any sense, why would that hapen?</p>

It&#39;s not the ende of the world but sometimes I&#39;ve had body hair, eye leasses, &nbsp;scalp and main part of hair all having to be hidden seperately. It doesn&#39;t always seem to happen. Why?       <description><![CDATA[<p>Hi . . I&#39;ve installed the latest version of DAZ 4.10.0.107, and is working fine with my i7 4790 W10 64bit. The only problem I do get, and I didn&#39;t before, is with my mouse. Sometimes work, sometimes doesn&#39;t. This always happens when I&#39;m rendering. I&#39;ve tried few things and is definetely while I&#39;m rendering. As soon I stop rendering, even leaving DAZ and the render open so I can resume it, everything goes back to normal. I did not have any problem when I was rendering with the previous version of DAZ. So my question is . . Is it me, or somebody else reported this problem? does the new version of DAZuse more power while is rendering? My CPU shows all core at 100% and is on performance mode, but that was fine before. Of course I could not do other graphic stuff at the same time, but not problems using the mouse. Temperature are normal for the work load at around 55&deg;. Any idea?</p>
