      <description><![CDATA[<p>Hi, I always use the Daz IM when I purchase anything and have automatically install set. So, it&#39;s always a surpise when I click on Install (mostly by clumsyness) to find I have items to insall. Why would it be that they are not installed when they don&#39;t show in the Install Manager?</p>

      <description><![CDATA[<p>Hi, I have a little problem here and couldn&#39;t find the right solution thru googling and search in this forum.</p>

<p>I added my own morphs on a Casual Wear M4 pants. To keep it short, Figure/prop asset save is done, Morph asset(s) save is done, and both pants and my morphs works perfectly on it&#39;s own or &quot;Fit To&quot; M4 as well as H4.</p>

<p>&nbsp;</p>

<p>The problem starts when the pants is &quot;Fit To&quot; G3M. I already applied &quot;Wear Them All&quot;. When the pants is &quot;Fit To&quot; G3M, my morphs doesn&#39;t work. My morph labels and sliders are still in parameter tab, but the bones of my morphs disappeared. All other original morphs and bones of the pants are still there and working except for mine.</p>

<p>&nbsp;</p>

<p>Is there any way to keep my morphs / bones when the pants is fit to G3M?</p>

      <description><![CDATA[<p>Hello! This is my first post here! I&#39;ve first used Daz3D in 2015, I used it for like 3 months and then I stopped, yesterday I started using it again, and I was asked to upgrade my IM from&nbsp;1.1.0.41 to&nbsp;1.1.0.72, and so I successfully did! After that, it asked me to upgrade my Daz3D from 4.5 to 4.10, so I downloaded everything and proceeded to install it. But, surprisingly, the installation failed, it didn&#39;t give any reason, it just failed. After double checking the directories, I tried again, I even deleted the package and downloaded it again, but no success.</p>

<p>So I did a manual install of the 4.10 version, and it worked! But again, IM didn&#39;t recognize the change, and it still suggested the 4.10 upgrade, so I just ignored it.</p>

<p>When I opened Daz3D 4.10, though, it said that PostgreSQL wasn&#39;t working, so I closed it, and tried to uninstall it through IM too, and again, it didn&#39;t work, I cliked in uninstall, it did its thing, but after refreshing IM, PostgreSQL just showed up as installed again as if I hadn&#39;t done anything. So I proceeded with a manual uninstall. Now, I can&#39;t install it again, because IM still recognizes it as installed, even though its path doesn&#39;t even exist&nbsp;in &quot;C:\ProgramData&quot; anymore.</p>

<p>Now, I&#39;m stuck. I found out PostgreSQL isn&#39;t the only problem, apparently Install Manager can&#39;t install or uninstall anything! Nothing at all! It just doesn&#39;t work. It fails to recognize any changes I make. I&#39;ve already tried downgrading it, reinstalling it, deleting the whole Daz3D folder from AppData, I even deleted Daz3D completely (I just left my library untouched), but nothing worked, I&#39;m really stuck!</p>

<p>Any ideas?</p>

<p>I&#39;m running Windows 10, 64-bit.</p>

      <title>Painting a full body tatoo on Vicky 4?</title>

      <description><![CDATA[<p>Not sure if this is right place for it, but here goes:</p>

<p>I&#39;m wanting to paint a texture on Victoria 4, which is essetially a &quot;full body&quot; tatoo. One mark basicly starts on her face (her Lower lip) and goes below her navel, without a break. An another Series of Marks goes across her back.</p>

<p>For those who don&#39;t know Vicky&#39;s 4&#39;s Texture maps, the head is seperate texture to her body, and there is the seam along the back. Most of my &quot;custom&quot; texture work was simple tasks to date, as most have been T-shirts or Flat panels.</p>

<p>So do I make sure that the joins isn&#39;t obvious and basicly hide the seams.</p>

<p>I am aware of several expensive programs that could do exactly what I want do by letting me paint on the model more like if I had real model and a paint bush, than painting a sheet of paper that folded over the model. Microsoft&#39;s Paint 3D works until I realise I can&#39;t get the painted V4 back in to Daz 3D. Do you know of any program out there that could do what I need, ideally on the cheaper end of things?</p>

      <description><![CDATA[<p>I had been working on a scene using an older prop (in .daz format). In the meantime I had some computer problems and had to reinstall all my document folders and files with a back up. When I went to open the scene again I received a message of missing files. When I looked in the auto_adapted folder only some of the required files were there. I thought maybe if I tried to save the prop again in another scene it would propagate the missing files. It didn&#39;t. I have tried to save the prop several times in new&nbsp;scenes but when the new scenes are opened the same missing file messages are received. I&#39;ve tried uninstalling and reinstalling the prop. I can load the prop and everything is fine but as soon as I save it and try to re-open I get the missing file message. Essentially the prop is now garbage unless someone can point me to a fix! Oh and saving scenes with this prop is spotty at best now.</p>

      <description><![CDATA[<p>Is is me, or is the light animation one of the strangest ducks in the pond?&nbsp; I need some advice... this is 3Dlight BTW</p>

<p>1.&nbsp; I save a light animation (varying only intensities frame to frame).&nbsp; While the animation loads in a different scene, I only get&nbsp;the end point!&nbsp; All other animation keys are lost in between.</p>

<p>2.&nbsp; I save a single light to take from one scene and place in another, and the moment I do, ALL the lights in the second scene are replaced by the one (all other lights lost) I just saved!</p>

<p>Maybe I&#39;m just in a hole, but what did I miss?&nbsp; Can someone clear this up?&nbsp; THANKS ALL!!!</p>

      <description><![CDATA[<p>I&#39;ve read all the forum entries about this product and I see that skydomes can be a bit awkward! I select a preset scene and get a Base with Sun and SkyDome parented to it, but when I select Skydome and try to apply a different Sky shader to it nothing happens. I get the flashing notice - &quot;Reading asset loaded file...etc, but nothing changes.&nbsp;</p>

<p>I&#39;ve gone into Environment and tried Draw Dome On and Draw Dome Off, but there&#39;s no change. Anyway, I gather that this product creates a dome within the dome and so&nbsp;Draw Dome On shouldn&#39;t make any difference in any event - although I hjave seen conflicting comments about this so I&#39;m not sure.&nbsp;</p>

<p>I did notice from a screenshot on another old forum entry that when SkyDome is selected, under Parameters there is Skydome/Morphs/Skydome/IR Skies - well I have that but without the IR Skies - it&#39;s just not there.&nbsp;</p>

<p>My machine is powerful enough that I can work within thye quick Nvidia Iray, so it&#39;s not that I&#39;m not using Iray - and anyway, even in a full render no matter what I do it doesn&#39;t change the sky.&nbsp;</p>

<p>Any thoughts anyone?</p>

<p>the computer where I work has 2 gpus (1080gtx and k4200) and 2 monitor (1600p, 1080p)</p>

<p>and I want to choose which GPU is occupied by such a specific program.</p>

<p>windows 10 has an option to choose which gpu takes care of each program, but</p>

<p>but windows always assumes the 1080gtx for everything without giving me any option. (screen)</p>

<p>in my case I want to let the k4200 take care of firefox and videos, while the 1080gtx is exclusively dedicated to daz3d and videogames.</p>

<p>the problem is that windows always assumes and gives all the work to the 1080gtx. and reender in daz3d while I watch some video or use firefox is very annoying (lag, render to slow, since the 1080gtx does everything). besides the expense of vram (firefox with a video of youtube fhd consumes 1 gb vram).</p>

<p>before I had an alternative solution, connect everything to the k4200 and leave the 1080gtx only to reender.<br />
It worked well, I could work in photoshop, watch videos and render without problems at maximum speed. all perfect. but now I want to use the 1080gtx to play videogame and in that case I need the monitor to be connected to it.</p>

<p>another solution would be to connect according to the need, play or render. but it would generate wear and tear on the ports and wire themselves (in addition to the obvious discomfort).</p>

<p>I will be very grateful if you give me a help, surely here someone has had the same problem.<br />

ps: I used the configuration in the nvidia panel, assign cuda and opengl only to the k4200, obtaining the same results, still using the 1080gtx.</p>

      <description><![CDATA[<p>ToolTips don&#39;t show despite hovering over the icon for extended periods. I have tried extensions *.duf.tip.png and *.tip.png. The .png is 256x256, generated from Daz. I have set and reset Edit-&gt;Preferences Content Tab &quot;Show File Info Tool Tips in Content Library&quot; about 20 times. Restarted Studio a similar number. Still my tooltips don&#39;t show. My viewports get focus properly when the cursor hovers over the various buttons. Is there a setting that I am missing? Could it be the video card?</p>

      <description><![CDATA[<p>I have seen this a couple times when returning to work on a scene; the eyemoisture or eyebrow base surfaces are distorted and discolored, indicating a collision problem that no amount of smoothing (in the case of the eyebrow overlay) can fix. See the screen-snip for the example.</p>

<p>What is happening here, and why is it intermittant? More importantly, how do I fix it once it happens?</p>

      <description><![CDATA[<p>Unfortunatly in a move my copy of Mimic v1 was lost and as a result I can no longer install Mimic Pro (upgrade version).</p>

<p>The lypsync version in DS 32bit is okay for speach but Mimic was so handy as it took care of automaticly blinking eyes &amp; those slight head moves.</p>

<p>Anyone know where I can get a copy of Mimic 1 or where I can purchase the non upgrade version of Mimic Pro?</p>

<p>Or is their a new option available regarding this?</p>

      <description><![CDATA[<p>So: I&#39;ve got Michael 4 installed in Poser, I installed the Morphs++ and the Creature Creator morhps all in the same runtime. I click on the INJ Morphs++, and it says it&#39;s loading, but the 11 Full Body Morphs are nowhere to be found. Same thing with the Creature Creator. The morphs install in some of the body parts (notably, his head), but the full body morphs I need so that I can use other morph sets are NOT there.</p>

<p>Possible complications: I have Michael 4 in a runtime from Poser 7, when I went to install the Creature Creator morphs(just purchased), I kept getting a message that it had to be in the executable directory for Poser, that would be the (x86) file directory (I&#39;m running Windows 7). BUT I also needed Michael 4 in there, so I turned off the UAC, and put him in there instead of my Poser 9 Content runtime. I also put in the Morphs++ and the Creature Creator Morphs. Tried loading Michael 4 and injecting the morphs: SAME problem.</p>

<p>Are the multiple locations of Michael in the two runtimes a problem? Or is it something else? This issue is holding up a project that has taken a long time to put together. For it to be stopped by one technical issue is MADDENING.</p>

<p>Help.</p>

<p>I&#39;m trying to follow this tutorial to add dForce to a cloth:&nbsp;<a rel="nofollow" href="https://www.daz3d.com/forums/discussion/203081/dforce-start-here#latest" target="_blank">https://www.daz3d.com/forums/discussion/203081/dforce-start-here#latest</a></p>

<p>At one point, it&#39;s said that I should select &quot;dForce Simulation::Influence Weights&quot; from a dropdown menu.</p>

<p>However, I don&#39;t see this, and this map hasn&#39;t been added to my maps yet.</p>

<p>The one map that is shown in the screenshot was added when I selected the only available option (&quot;&lt;New Push Modifier&gt;&quot;).</p>

<p>What might be the issue here?&nbsp;</p>

<p>I want to publish / distribute clothes.</p>

<p>They don&#39;t conform nicely with the model&#39;s pose.</p>

<p>I was told I should use dForce modifier to &quot;fix&quot; this.</p>

<p>It does work&nbsp;nicely.</p>

<p>Now when I want to distribute my clothes, do my users also have to use the dForce modifier and the Simulate button in the &quot;Simulation Settings&quot; pane to make the clothes conform nicely with a model&#39;s pose?</p>

<p>Or is there a way to &quot;bake&quot; or &quot;distribute&quot; the dForce modifier so that all this happens automatically when the user changes the model&#39;s pose?</p>

      <description><![CDATA[<p>There is something wrong with HP Zelie&#39;s skin.<br />
<br />
The grey seams&nbsp;appear when I darken the skin to give a tanned look. (I just&nbsp;turn the base colour grey instead of white).</p>

<p>I don&#39;t think it is the old gamma error since the colour are the same on the diffent body parts, they are just separeted by an ugly grey line.</p>

      <description><![CDATA[<p>I&#39;m trying to convert some of my characters from Genesis 3 to Genesis 2, but not having complete success with it.</p>

<p><img alt="" src="http://www.allthedevils.com/images/fel%20comps.jpg" /></p>

<p>Gen3 is on the right, Gen2 on the left.</p>

<p>As you can see, it kind of works but could be a lot better. Does anyone have any suggestions as to what I&#39;m doing wrong?</p>

<p>It&#39;s worth mentioning that this is a character I&#39;ve put together myself using people morphs from various characters. I&#39;ve checked and adding each of the 3 &#39;people&#39; morphs into genx doesn&#39;t help.</p>

      <description><![CDATA[<p>Is there a good tutorial on how to create full body scars or wounds on a character, as in down the front or back? I&#39;ve been using a plugin to apply some decals from a wound pack from the store, but have no idea how to make them appear raised/indented with bump maps, or make them appear glossy/dull with the LIE editor, which is used to apply them.</p>

<p>There are some items in the store that look appeaking but are for G2 models, and don&#39;t seem to have options for positioning/resizing/texturing, and I&#39;m lost when it comes to geoshells.</p>

      <description><![CDATA[<p>I am new to using Daz Studio. I have used poser 7 in the past and figured I would try Daz Studio since it is free rather then pay for an upgrade of poser. My issue and the topic of this post is 2 parts.</p>

<p>First: In the manual and videos I see it talks about chaning&nbsp;the render speed vs quality it states:</p>

<p>&quot;The &lsquo;Render Quality&rsquo; setting is available in both the General and Advanced pages of the Render Settings pane. This setting is fairly straight forward &ndash; Higher quality means a slower render and vice versa. With this setting you can choose to sacrifice quality for speed. This setting has a prominent location at the top of the Render Settings pane&quot;</p>

<p>I am using 4.10 verson&nbsp;and in my render settings I do not have that or can not find it. Is the it possible the manual and information is outdated or am I missing something?</p>

<p>Second: If I am rendering just a single figure I like to have an alpha channel when I take it in to Photoshop. This was a feature I remembered having in poser 7. by saving the file as PNG or Tiff file. In poser i think you could save as a PSD file as well. but I digress. When I save as a PNG or Tiff though there is not an alpha channel. when I take it in to photoshop just an RGB Blue Green etc channel. What is the trick to get an Alpha channel.&nbsp;There is a setting in Redner Settings called Alpha but no real documentation on it that i have found yet.</p>

<p>Any help with these issues would be appreciate. I like Daz Studio but lack of information will send me back to using Poser and my wallet will not like that.&nbsp;</p>

      <description><![CDATA[<p>Because of prblems with some of my work I am trying to learn about surfaces (Please see earlier post entitled &#39;Just totally weird&#39; I was very kindly advised by Paintbox to re-title my post as it is now. The user manual section on surfaces advises using Gen 2 Female so I&#39;ve loaded the model into the viewport but but already I am experiencing problems, please see pic attached and refer to the left arm and shoulder area. The model also appears to be wearing a very fine body covering???</p>
