      <description><![CDATA[<p>I am having an issue with eyes on figures I have converted from Victoria 4, Genesis and Genesis 2 figures to Genesis 3.. I have all the required plugins and what not so no problem there, but anyway the issue at hand is the when I load the saved figure into studio and use the eyes side to side or just rotate one eye, the pivot point of the eye has moved forward instead of being in the centre of the eye..&nbsp;</p>

<p>And as such when when rotated the one eye will rotate out of the eye socket while the other eye will sink back into the socket and well look weird.. I am not sure why this is happening but it is a nuisance and not really sure how to fix it. I have supplied to images the figure is set to base resolution to show what happens the strange thing is that some conversions are worse than others..&nbsp; Any help please would be greatly appreciated thank you.. :)</p>

      <description><![CDATA[<p>Is there a standard way of finding the center of mass of a posed figure?&nbsp;I adopted a way which works for me, but I&#39;d like to know whether ther is a simpler one.</p>

<p>When I&nbsp;do&nbsp;a &quot;<a rel="nofollow" href="http://v94070.deviantart.com/art/Balancing-act-570934435">balancing act</a>&quot; pose I export the figure to *.obj file, then I import it to Meshmixer, convert the figure to solid and then use Stability analysis, to see the center of mass and the contact area. Then, if needed, I adjust the pose and repeat. As I am using the Autodesk&#39;s Meshmixer as my go-to programm for 3D printing needs, it&#39;s not too complicated for me. But I am sure, that there are more straitforward ways, are there? There was mCasual&#39;s CofMA3 <a rel="nofollow" href="https://sites.google.com/site/mcasualsdazscripts/cofma3-v3-v4">script</a>, but it&#39;s very limited and out of date.</p>

<p>I am attempting to make 2D sprites from my 3D models. If I go to render something large, like a road, the part of the object directly in front of me renders straight. The part of the road to the right is different, as is the part to the left, just as if you were looking at one in real life. Ordinarily, this is a good thing, but for this one project, I need to find a way to flatten it, to make it render the whole object as if it was all directly in front of me, regardless of the angle from dead center.&nbsp;</p>

<p>Is there any way to do this?</p>

      <description><![CDATA[<p>Stupid question - I am just learning about decimation, and am curious how to leverage it for background figures.&nbsp; So if I have a figure in a scene that is decimated to 50%, and then I interactively change the decimation level to 25%, is the geometry resent to my graphics cards at the 25% level automatically, or does the geometry remain at the level it was originally sent at, and the decimation only impacts render quality?&nbsp; Let me know if my relatively uninformed questions aren&#39;t making any sense.&nbsp; Thank you for your time.</p>

      <description><![CDATA[<p>I&#39;m struggling to save a shader preset. Whenever I do so (select figure, select surface, save as Shader Preset, save), the resulting .DUF file doesn&#39;t seem to include any of my channel values.</p>

<p>For example, in the attached screen cap I&#39;ve set up a material with Translucency Color set to (1, 0.31, 0.23) / #FF9582, but looking at the saved preset, the corresponding JSON element is the default (1,1,1) / #ffffff</p>

      <description><![CDATA[<p>Using SimonWM&#39;s&nbsp;<span>Genesis 8 Male(s) Expressions &amp; Face aniBlocks (and the G8F version too), I&#39;m finding that while the pose sliders in the Posing tab work, the aniBlocks do not. Whether I&#39;m using the animation preview (hovering mouse over the block product while the character is selected) or trying to run the aniBlock in aniMate2, the G8M or G8F remains stone-faced. I asked SimonWM and he doesn&#39;t know what it might be. Other aniBlocks work fine on these characters, just not the face animations. Any ideas?</span></p>

<p>First time for me one this forum, and I&#39;m absolutely sorry if that question has been asked before. I&#39;m new on DAZ, still trying to fully understand it (I discovered just yesterday how to add wind on my dforce simulation!).</p>

<p>I&#39;ve find an easy way to convert older generations to Genesis 8 (females) but I&#39;ve some troubles with some figure, and, here, more specificly Thian Hair for Genesis 2, by AprilYSH. I know how to make it fit to genesis 8 head but if I do it that way, the wind and morphs on the tails doesn&#39;t work anymore. I&#39;m already guessing it&#39;s a weighting problem but I can&#39;t find anywhere a way to fix this.</p>

<p>&nbsp;</p>

<p>Finally, in a last tiny request for help, I&#39;d love to know how to convert dynamic clothes for poser only for Genesis 8 and to Dforce system! Even if it&#39;s just a link to some tutorials, I&#39;d be happy to have it!</p>

<p>Please, any tutorial of convertions from G2, or V4 dynamic clothes for poser to D8 would be the nicest thing!</p>

Nothing major I can work around this.... then models and assets load with notexture or shading... It will render the texture and shading but itwont display. I&#39;m attachinga SS of what is going on. Daz is the only thing going with this issue. I&#39;ve uninstalled, installed, removed assets,checked drivers, and rebooted twice.... HELP!!</p>

<p>Been a while since I have been here and used Daz, so any help would be appreciated. As mentioned I just purchased GenX but it does not show up in my serial numbers?</p>

<p><strong>GenX </strong>Install directions say below&nbsp;</p>

<ul>
	<li>Installing, Starting, and Registering GenX Before you can start GenX2, <strong>you need to enter the serial number in the plugin dialog of DS4, which is opened by About Installed Plugins... in the Help menu of the main menu.</strong> (You need to restart DS4 after entering the serial number.) Then, you can open the GenX tab from the Window/Tabs menu of DS4.</li>
</ul>

<p>Looked<strong> </strong>in <strong>About Installed Plugins.&nbsp;</strong> There is no GenX listed - see pic</p>

<span>I&#39;ve tried to make a render for Halloween, but I&nbsp;encountered a technical problem I don&#39;t know how to solve : the skin of the cute little monster tend to be transparent&nbsp;as the rendering progresses... When it&#39;s completely converged, the skin consists&nbsp;of the gray squares that represents&nbsp;transparency.</span></p>

<p>It seems to be due to the skin itself because I&#39;ve another character not impacted by this bug on the scene (the images above are a crop of the original render). But I still&nbsp;tried another HDRI for the case of an incompatibility with this skin. I&#39;ve searched over the forum for this bug : in my case, it seems that it&#39;s not due to motion blur because this option is turned off.&nbsp;</p>

<p>I use the &quot;Send to ZBrush&quot; command in Daz3D 4.10 and it works fine.</p>

<p>Only problem is, that it allways transfers the whole model (with shoes, dress...) to ZBrush.</p>

<p>Is there a way to select a single part (like only the body) to be transferred as a single object, only?</p>

<p>It makes no difference what i select in the scene tab. Daz allways transfers the whole model.</p>

<p>I have this problem when I open daz3d the program simply turns off my dedicated gpu. It has started after I reinstalled windows 10 and daz3d. After windows I installed every driver and the newest gpu driver then I opened daz and saw that something is wrong because the program is slower than before in iray, so I cheked it and it did not used the gpu at all because it could not find it even tho it showes up in every system information panel. Pc reboot, turned on the option to see what programs run on my gpu. I tried games, they were all fine just like before, and I tried out daz again if it works now but as soon as the program opens my gpu turns off and none of the app-s can see if there is any gpu in my pc. After a couple of reboots and tries where I tested if I only let the dedicated gpu run daz ended in a freeze also when I unchecked the box in render settings to use only gpu and not cpu the program crashed again.</p>

<p>I have tried to reinstall everything like drivers, daz3d but nothing has solved my problem.</p>

<p>Did anyone had this issue or can someone help me with this?</p>

<span>I just went to use a LIE preset I had made but it wouldn&#39;t load and I got this:</span><br />
<strong>Error reading file, see log for more details.</strong><br />
<span>When I looked in the log this was what it said:</span><br />

<span>Any ideas folks? When I sent the files to be beta tested they came through fine and I have not changed any thing.</span></p>

<p>i have a problem with the rig. when i import the rig from daz to maya with the plugin all seems fine.</p>

<p>i start animating and it works as it should. than i safe. open it up again. and it is like the rig and the geometry are unbound or something... its not affected by the rig at all anymore (sometimes 1-2 frames and than it stops) but the animation in the rig is still there .</p>

<p>furthermore the appears now like the rig explodes for one or two frames(no it is not a framerate missmatch)</p>

<p>anyone ideas? i didnt change anything within the rig only parented hair on it and build a fashial rig with the blendshapes so nothing what should affect the rig itself</p>

      <description><![CDATA[<p>I&#39;m going to explain the process in detail of how I wound up with a strange rebar-like thing sticking down from Aeon Soul&#39;s fabulous Nova Hair.&nbsp; I don&#39;t know why it&#39;s there or how to get rid of it.<br />
<br />
I&#39;m using Daz Studio 4.10 Pro Edition,the Fane character (Genesis 8 female), and the Nova hair, which is for Genesis 3 female.&nbsp; So I used the auto-fit, and all seemed right.&nbsp; But then I did a spot render and everything - Fane, the hair, the clothing - were all invisible.&nbsp; I tried the same thing a few times, expecting a different result, thus proving myself insane.&nbsp; And then I decided to save the file, close the program, and re-open it.&nbsp; Once it was open I tried the spot render again, which worked - except that now the rebar pole had appeared and was sticking down through Fane&#39;s neck!&nbsp; Where the heck did that come from? I hadn&#39;t noticed it *before* rendering.<br />
<br />
But once the render was gone I could see the thing was indeed there in the raw image. I deleted the hair and found that the pole went with it.&nbsp; I brought the hair back in, hoping it had just been a glitch the first time, but again I was proven insane.<br />
<br />
I&#39;d run out of time, so I shut the program down and came back later.&nbsp; The first time I tried to render, all was invisible again.&nbsp; I closed the program and re-opened it and then spot-rendered,which worked this time, and again there was that bizarre little pole sticking through Fane&#39;s neck. So I posed her for public viewing and rendered her as an example for this forum. Once posed, the rebar sticks through her face, poor girl.&nbsp;<br />

Thus Fane joins Cordelia of &quot;Buffy the Vampire Slayer&quot; and Rick Grimes of &quot;The Walking Dead&quot; as a rebar-impaled character.&nbsp;&nbsp;<br />
<br />
But I don&#39;t think being in celebrity company gives her any comfort...<br />
<br />
Any suggestions as to how to make the hair work correctly?&nbsp; Of course, I could postwork it, but I really want to understand what&#39;s causing this and how to fix it in D/S.</p>

      <description><![CDATA[<p>I am trying to edit an Aniblock in keyframe mode (using Animate 2) to change the figure&#39;s X and Z position. I select the desired frame in the aniblock, then move the figure to desired position. Exit keyframe mode and the new position is not applied. How can I make this work please? Thanks.</p>

<p>This worked when I adjusted the figure&#39;s Y rotation. Is translation different?</p>

<p>I&#39;m going crazy here trying to track this down. &nbsp;But my surfaces panel has stopped working (Daz 3.10.0.123).</p>

<p>I was doing some LIE editing with the Eclipse suit, and the surface panel just stopped displaying the settings for the Eclipse suit. &nbsp;I was getting ticked, so I shelved it a week or so back, and went back to work on it tonight.</p>

<p>The panel looks like it should be working, I have the Eclipse suit (or other item) selected in the Scene, expand it in the Surfaces Editor Panel, and select Sleeves, and normally, it would show me all the settings on the right.</p>

<p>Now, all I get is the &quot;What can I do?&quot; text in the panel. &nbsp;</p>

<p>I&#39;ve tried other objects, different files, and even pulling up some V4 stuff, to see if I can get it to work. &nbsp;Nada.</p>

<p>Now please note, if I choose &quot;ALL&quot; in the Surface Editor, it&#39;ll show everything properly. &nbsp;It is the sub-items in the list that are not showing up.</p>

<p>Please any suggestions would be welcome.</p>

<p>Partial Update / Clarification:</p>

<p>Expanding the items, and then selecting each and every subsection (eg General, Diffuse, etc) does display the selections. (Thank goodness)</p>

<p>So as an example:</p>

<p>* Skirt<br />
&nbsp;&nbsp; &nbsp; &nbsp;* Apron<br />
&nbsp;&nbsp; &nbsp; &nbsp; &nbsp; &nbsp; &nbsp; * General<br />
&nbsp;&nbsp; &nbsp; &nbsp; &nbsp; &nbsp; &nbsp; * Diffuse<br />
&nbsp;&nbsp; &nbsp; &nbsp; &nbsp; &nbsp; &nbsp; * Specular</p>

<p>Originally, I would click on Skirt or Apron, and I would get all of the subsettings listed on that panel. &nbsp;Now, it appears that I have to click down through the entire list. &nbsp;<strong>Previously clicking on Apron would roll up all the sublistings very much like it does with the object parameters</strong>.</p>

<p>I don&#39;t recall changing any settings that would affect this, nor any updates, maybe a Windows update broke something???</p>

<p>I can&#39;t find any previous discussions on this topic in the forums.&nbsp; My SSD drive is full so I was looking at ways to clear up some space.&nbsp; I was shocked to see that under the &quot;Control Panel &gt; Uninstall or Change a program&quot;, Hexagon 2 (version 2.5.1.79)&nbsp;is the largest software installed on the drive, weighing in at 113 GB!&nbsp; For comparison&nbsp;the next two, largest programs on this drive are Photoshop (2.03 GB) and Substance Painter 2 (1.41 GB).&nbsp; How is this possible?&nbsp; Has anyone else have had a similar experience?&nbsp; I am contemplating uninstalling and reinstalling it to see if this fixes this bloat.</p>

<p>I am pretty&nbsp;noob-ish with DAZ 3d.&nbsp;</p>

<p>Im trying to aplly a shader to a&nbsp;primitive shape I have opened in my scene.</p>

<p>these are the steps Im following from&nbsp;the very beginning:</p>

<p>Create &gt; new primitive.</p>

<p>Select surface selection tool &gt; click on primitive&nbsp;</p>

<p>Go to content library &gt; Daz studio formats &gt; My DAZ 3d library &gt; shader presets &gt; Iray &gt; Daz Uber &gt; double click shader&nbsp;</p>

<p>nothing happens.</p>

<p>Select spot render tool &gt; create selection for spot render&nbsp;</p>

<p>Nothing happens.</p>

<p>Sometimes there is a slight change to the surface of the object but most often it is black or grey. I think the only time it wasnt black/grey was when I selected the &quot;emissive&quot; shader. then it was white.</p>

<p>I get the same non-result when selecting any of the shader presets that came loaded with my copy of DAZ stufio.&nbsp;</p>

<p>I have perused the online tutorials but nothing seems to change the results.&nbsp;</p>

<p>I have seen reference to a &quot;texture toggle&quot; but for the life of me I cant find that and I dont know if thats the fix?</p>

<p>Can someone help?</p>
