      <description><![CDATA[I did as mentioned in discussions. Preferences-Content-Load Content Manager. I tried to create a new path to test before moving my content to external SSD. There i set a link to point to an empty folder I created on SSD. That is when I lost all my content on Daz.

I deleted the newly created path but that didn't solve the problem. I still can't load my content although everything seems to be back in place. Is there a reset button to bring everything back to default?

I first want to get my content to load from its original location, to make sure its not lost, and then I will try to figure out the incredibly complicated issue of moving content to external.

      <description><![CDATA[<p>Hi,</p>

<p>I&#39;m thinking of investing some in a new computer for working with DAZ, and I&#39;m trying to gain some basic understanding of cpu clocks, cpu cores and gpu. But in the end I get lost in petween all the numbers since working on a scene and rendering seems to need different things :(&nbsp;</p>

<p>Basically what I want to do most is make and render still scenes for graphic novels using Studio (I also have Bryce and Carrara, but I very rarely use them). I may also wish to continue learning Hexagon to create some of my own content. Lastly (and least importance)&nbsp;I may wish to try working with some basic animations for advertisment purposes, but this would be secondary.</p>

<p>So, basically I need good performance on the cpu clock to work on the scenes. But since I need to render a lot of different scenes for a graphic novel I&#39;m still hoping for some reasonable rendering times as well. Do you have any suggestions on the best combination of cpu and gpu to get a good balance between good performance while working on a scene and good performance while rendering the scenes? (don&#39;t worry about price right now I do have some money saved up for it, I just want to make sure I spend it wisely).</p>

<p>Im trying to export an FBX file and take it into MODO. It all works, but only diffuse maps come across with the Floyd 8 model.&nbsp;Even if I click &quot;Floyd 8 All Maps&quot; - they all update in Daz, so I know they are applied to the model.&nbsp;</p>

<p>How do I get normal, bumps etc to export along with the difuse please?</p>

      <description><![CDATA[<p>Hi. This has happened before and I didn&#39;t get any answers but I&#39;m on a brand new computer with an up to date OS and I&#39;m still seeing two renders going on. I did a scene last night. It should have been done in 3 hours (but looking at the log my computer kept going to sleep, I think I&#39;ve stopped that, it&#39;s a new OS a different settings) After realising I didn&#39;t like the direction of the eyes I started a spot render immediately after stopping the main render. I went out for an hour, when I got back the tiny snippet around the eyes was looking little better than after a couple of minutes. I looked at the log to check my computer hadn&#39;t got to sleep again but this time it appeared that the DS was doing two renders again. As before I only have on preview window which is in Iray and as usual it hasn&#39;t rendered anything during the spot render. It looks, from looking at the log, like it was continuing the main render from before. So, I cancelled the spot render and restarted DS.&nbsp;</p>

<p>After restarting DS and loading the scene I&#39;m doing the same spot render. It seemed to be going well then after 30 mintues I cam back expecting it to be finished it looks no better than after a couple of mintues again. The log file looks like DS is doing two renders still and as if it is still doing the render from last night. How, what&#39;s going on? It doesn&#39;t always do this. It&#39;s been really quick for a while. Even before I got my new computer renders were going really well apart from the odd glitch.&nbsp;</p>

      <description><![CDATA[<p>I have a lot of confusion with the MDL and RSL materials.<br />
<strong>I have an Nvidia GTX 960 card and selected Nvidia Iray as Engine in the Render Settings and Draw Settings</strong>.<br />
<br />
I am testing with the Victoria 8 Model and as I understood it, for the Iray engine it is necessary to apply the MDL materials.<br />
<br />
But it seems that when I apply a <em>MDL- Victoria 8 All Maps</em> material nothing happens (or almost nothing).<br />
However, when I apply the <em>RSL </em>material if it looks better to the model and obvious changes are seen.</p>

<p><strong>Default without All Maps applied</strong></p>

<p>I&#39;ve got a problem with render tab...&nbsp;I chosed a diffrent partition for&nbsp;temporary/render files for DAZ Studio 4.10 but&nbsp;the whole process of rendreing one picture it takes about 1,5 an hour! (I chosed to render by INVIDIA iRAY and Geforce GTX&nbsp; 750 Ti for photoreal / interactive devices). When I render my picture only through CPU devices I get a lot white dots on final picture... (as you can see on the picture below).</p>

<p>Additionally I get a problem with ,,out of memory&quot;,so I guess the software need a very much of free space on C partiton (is there any way to change this operation in render options before rendering?).</p>

<p>On the second picture below there is a whole information&nbsp;about my PC.</p>

<p>I will be&nbsp;grateful for any small advice how to use render options for my version of DAZ...</p>

<p>Why has DS always got &#39;3Delight &gt; Specular &gt; Glossiness&#39; so badly wrong <span><strong>when importing a Poser prop/figure</strong></span> ?&nbsp;This has been a minor PITA ever since DS2/3 days.&nbsp;Ages ago <a rel="nofollow" href="http://unrealimperfect.com/en/notes/self.htm#8">I did some empirical wet thumb in the wind approximations</a>&nbsp;and came up with this...</p>

<p>...but I find myself wondering nevertheless. Mainly because I&#39;m just doing a new Poser prop and I recall what &#39;fun&#39; (spelt <em>&#39;&#39;irritation&#39;</em>) it was creating&nbsp;3Delight-specific materials...</p>

      <description><![CDATA[<p>Hello all! I need some help when it comes to renders. I&#39;ve looked this problem up several times before, and the answer I usually see is that the person didn&#39;t have enough light in the scene. However, my renders are coming out grainy even when my scene is completely flooded with light. In the studio picture, the &quot;white&quot; backdrop is actually a dark forest green that has so much light on it that it looks completely white. Strangely enough, when I don&#39;t apply any lights at all, the final rendered image actually comes out BRIGHTER than the one flooded by light. As you can see in the finished render, I&#39;m still having big grainy spots on the final product no matter what I select. It&#39;s not going to a set time and then cutting off, either; pictures that take an hour to render are grainy, as are pictures that only take ten minutes. Can anyone point me in the direction of which setting would fix this? (the clearer of the two is how it looks with NO lights applied. It&#39;s brighter than the one with four lights on her)</p>

<p>Strange things happen to my G3 female ACTORS: If I load saved scenes and then change the poses of G3 females, the hands go completely nuts! Instead of taking on new poses, they stretch out like tentacles. Who has similar problems? How can the problem be solved?</p>

<p>I am a artist and a novice with Daz3d that I find quite hard to use. Basically I just pose the figure and then render it with the&nbsp;Iray Sun-Sky&nbsp;function. I have just&nbsp;purchased the Michael 8 pro kit. I found the &quot;parts&quot; in the eyebrow file and applied them. They remain silver or white before and after rendering with Iray or 3Delight. How do you get them to have a normal color. I noticed that in the Michal&nbsp;materials file there are things called Gen1 or Gen2 for Iray, but these don&#39;t seem to change anything so what are they?</p>

      <description><![CDATA[<p>Hello,</p>

<p>I&#39;m going to be working on out door scenes using 22 Parker Road and I would like to be able to do it all from within Daz Studio, rather then in post render. The problem is I have very little experience with Sky Dome or what it can do. My assumption was that simply by turning it on, you would instantly get blue skies and puffy white clouds. Clearly, that wasn&#39;t the case.&nbsp;</p>

<p>I guess my question really is can you create realistic skys from within Daz Studio simply using the default Sky Dome or does that require the purchase of an additional third party app such as&nbsp;</p>
