<p>I recently bought Terradome 3 and wanted to try it. So I set up a terarain and populated it by UltraScatter with some trees, grass clumps, bushes and so on. Well, &quot;some&quot; miiight be understatement - I put in about 240,000 instances altogether. Then I wanted to render in IRAY preview. I hit the button, then my kids disturbed me.</p>

<p>A few hours later, nothing had changed, but the &quot;Preparing scene&quot; bar moved... and moved... and moved... Since I didn&#39;t need my computer this night, I let him work. When I checked this morning, he was still busy.</p>

<p>Now my question is: Does DS really &quot;Prepare scene&quot; for every friggin&#39; item in the scene, including every instance? Because, every &quot;Preparing scene&quot; runs about 10-15 seconds, with 240,000 instances, that&#39;s about 27-41 DAYS. What&#39;s the purpose of instances if you can&#39;t use them in large scenes because they will block your machine literally for weeks?</p>

      <description><![CDATA[<p>I have created a geograft to replace the right hand of Genesis 3 Female.&nbsp; It is rigged with 20+ bones.&nbsp; It is intended to be non-organic, so to avoid it being distorted by projected morphs I have applied rigidity (via a group with participants and refs and a weight map) to all but a couple of rows of polygons where it joins the G3F figure.&nbsp; This all works well with the base G3F figure: geograft bones can be rotated and the geograft posed as desired.</p>

<p>However, when I apply a full body morph e.g. the Height morph or the Victoria 7 shape, whilst the geograft&#39;s mesh is unaffected by the morph (except near the join with G3F) the geograft bones all become displaced from their correct positions.&nbsp; As a result, because the bones and mesh no longer line up correctly any rotation of the geograft bones results in the geograft mesh breaking apart.&nbsp; The amount and direction of the displacement varies with the morph applied to G3F.&nbsp; To be clear, the bones are displaced because they are not moving; the mesh is moving but retaining its shape.&nbsp; When I dial the Height morph, for example, the geograft mesh follows the end of the arm; the geograft bones don&#39;t, even though they move when the figures right arm is posed.&nbsp; The geograft has a Right Forearm Twist bone, and I used the Transfer Rigging (Figure Space) to &#39;weld&#39; that to the same bone in G3F.&nbsp; The geograft bones and mesh follow the forearm when posing.</p>

<p>It seems I have made some mistake in creating the geograft, but cannot figure out what I have done or not done in error.&nbsp; I&#39;ll be grateful for any suggestions how I can fix this.</p>

      <description><![CDATA[<p>Hi, so I got my new pc and daz software and content all set up, but now it&#39;s crashing when rendering pine grove.</p>

<p>It crashes, occasionally continuing to render in the background, but stops responding if I cancel, giving this reason:</p>

<p>DAZStudio.exe caused ACCESS_VIOLATION in module &quot;C:\WINDOWS\SYSTEM32\ntdll.dll&quot; at 0033:000000001686D979, TpSetWait()+457 byte(s)</p>

<p>I had no problems with a few of stonemasons sets I played with before trying this, it appears to be a problem with the shaders for the ground plane, matground and matrocks,&nbsp;matwater seems fine. I rendered all levels of detail ok if I replaced both of&nbsp;just those mats on the ground plane with alternatives from other products.</p>

<p>I tried different combinations of gpu/cpu in the setting as well as the optimisation option, no help.</p>

      <description><![CDATA[<p>Hey, has anyone here purchased this product?</p>

<p>I just bought it yesterday and am just playing around with it. There&#39;s a few things I&#39;m still a little confused about. In the promo images, it showed a night time render. Are there supposed to be settings somewhere to indicate the time of day?&nbsp;</p>

<p>I&#39;m assuming that since it depicts an outside and inside environment, that it was meant to be used with either the sky and scene or both. Something I don&#39;t have much experience in yet!</p>

<p>other than that, I&#39;m very satisfied with the product! I hope this designer keeps adding new things to the Daz Store!! &nbsp;</p>

I noticed this: If I fix the arms or legs of a G2 figure by the &quot;toggle pin&quot;, then the pinned extremity is absolutely fixed no matter how I bend the figur.<br />
If I do the same with a G3 or G8 figure then the extremities are not absolutely fixed, but move with me.<br />
How can I adjust the toggle pins of the G3 and G8 figures in such a way that the point is absolutely fixed.<br />

      <description><![CDATA[<p>Hi i&#39;m a fairly new user.&nbsp; My name is Shawn and I have been trying for many months now to get Carrara 8.5 64 bit to render with other computers.&nbsp; I have set up other machines as describe in the tutorial.&nbsp; Changed the IP address and subnet mask from settings in CMD on master render pc.&nbsp; I have set up the render farm with many different hardware configurations.&nbsp; I used wireless and I tried using a switch to connect all the nodes.&nbsp; Now I am using a wireless router but have the internet turned off so just the PCs are connected no other interference.&nbsp; Still nothing working except the master rendering pc.&nbsp; Under render nodes it just says local host.&nbsp; I am running win 7 pro 64 bit and win 10.&nbsp; Would it help to connect the master render machine to the router via a usb cable?&nbsp; Any help would be greatly apreciated.&nbsp; It takes a ton of rendering power to make better animations and that&#39;s what it&#39;s all about for me. =D</p>

      <description><![CDATA[<p>I am following the &ldquo;DAZ Studio Rigging Made Easy&rdquo; tutorial. I have been able to follow along, but I am stumped at one point. The Thigh bones are very tiny and he explains how to grab the Green dot and drag it up to increase the size of the bone, Problem is - The joint dots and arrows aren&rsquo;t showing up. So I have nothing that I can grab and drag.</p>

<p>I have included a screenshot to show the tools etc. that I have selected. I have also included a screenshot of what the narrator is doing - that I can&#39;t.</p>

<p>How do I get the arrows and dots back?</p>

      <description><![CDATA[<p>I loaded g8f, change to base mesh resolution, subdev level 0, delete eyelashes, export to wavefront (obj) with all appropriate settings.</p>

<p>I modify character in blender, make legs and neck longer, body slimer, and export to wavefront (obj) with all appropriate settings.</p>

<p>I load g8f in Daz3d, open Morph Loader Pro, apply my morph with positive confirmations (no errors and geometry mismatches), crank it up to 100%, rigg it, apply ERC freeze, so far so good, no problems.</p>

<p>I load a few garmets, check eyelashes, all fit perfectly: eyelashes are hugging eyes on elongated neck, shorts are hugging waist and legs, all perfect, save it as scene or subset.</p>

<p>PROBLEM: reload character from scene/subset, eyelashes are not fitting, clothing is not fitting to the new figure with 100% dialed morph (everything fits original g8f shape, see picture attached) Please help!&nbsp;</p>

<p>I tried driver versions 416.81 and 416.34 but have the same result. Attached is an attempt to render the stock &quot;slaying the dragon&quot; ready-to-render using IRAY &amp; only the GPU. The render window popped up for a moment and closed.</p>

<p>Changing to CPU + GPU starts the render with the CPU.</p>

<p>Changing the engine to Intermediete OpenGL with 16 passes per light made the GPU rev up, but is not the effect I&#39;m looking for.</p>

I'm considering to use daz characters into Unity for making a rpg game.

I have some humanoid animations on Unity.
What I did was export rigged Genesis 8 model to fbx and loaded it into Unity. Then tried to use humanoid anim to exported G8.

But in most cases there were pokethrough problems when I used anim on it. So I almost gave up...

But these days I heard about dforce clothes that simulates physics on cloth with specific anim.

Can I use it to solve the problem?

      <description><![CDATA[<p>How do I prepare and distribute my own custom moprhs (genesis 8)</p>

<p>I have just started to use genesis 8 Female and am currently building up various morphs for her using Blender. I have exported the default base figure from Daz as a&nbsp;wavefront obj, Imported into Blender and created my morphs.&nbsp;</p>

<p>After importing my newly created morphs back into G8 in&nbsp;Daz, all my morph dials etc work fine and as they should, so all is good so far.</p>

<p>Now, I&#39;m thinking maybe other people may want to use some of my morphs, so I have saved as Support Asset - Morph Asset(s) called <strong><em>EXAMPLEmorphs</em></strong>.&nbsp;Do i now just zip up the &#39;<strong><em>EXAMPLEmorph</em></strong>s&#39; Folder (from... \data\DAZ 3D\Genesis 8\Female\Morphs\<em>EXAMPLEmorphs</em>) and give it out??</p>

<p>Is this the correct/legal way to do it?. . . Do I need to do anything else??</p>

      <description><![CDATA[<p>I downloaded 3rd party G8M &amp; F Grimace morph dials and copied to my LIbrary Content as per folder structure of the files. Data to Data, People to People, etc. But the morph dials are not showing in the Parameters of the figures. I can see them when I go to the Content Library but they show only as icons and don&#39;t do anything if double-clicked. Any one have any ideas? Did I load them incorrectly? I&#39;m using Daz on a MAC by-the-way.</p>

<p>I tried re-installing too but still this weird thing happens. Any suggestions?</p>

<p>(It has always been like this since I first got G3 male, didn&#39;t just start suddenly.)</p>

      <description><![CDATA[<p>I&#39;m new to this dforce and I&#39;m really confused to why this I have a problem.</p>

<p>I have the monk&#39;s robes which are dforce ready.<br />
I&#39;ve fitted them to G8M.<br />
Every time I try the simulation the cloth falls through the arms and this is at the default pose which I used whilst trialing it.<br />
I&#39;ve noted that the G8M character is scaled up slightly and when I start the simulation everything seems to &quot;drop&quot; slightly but I simply do not understand why it fails every time.</p>

      <description><![CDATA[<p>I really feel bad for asking such an open-ended question, but after poking around these boards I&#39;m seeing so much detailed discussion on things that my head is beginning to swim in all the numbers. Especially the Quadro vs RTX stuff. Although I like having the horsepower, I&#39;m just not a video card fanatic.</p>

<p>Here&#39;s what I have:&nbsp;<span>GeForce GTX 980 ti 6GB</span></p>

<p>I&#39;m just wondering if there&#39;s a $500 (ish) upgrade worth doing that would get me a significant boost in speed?</p>

<p>I don&#39;t do animation and I don&#39;t game, so those considerations aren&#39;t really anything I need to worry about.</p>

<p>Thanks in advance for any suggestions.</p>

<p>PS: The money&#39;s not burning a hole in my pocket &ndash; if there is something coming out by March or June of next year, I could easily hold off. I was just thinking that there might be some sales or deals worth catching as Christmas approaches.</p>

      <description><![CDATA[<p>I am not sure what has happened. I turn my setting to Scene Only (but have no lights in Scene). No camera in the scene so there is no headlamp so it should be pitch black, however, the scene is still has lighting. It all worked fine a few hours ago but all the sudden it is not working. I need to start a scene with no lighting at all. Any Ideas of what may have happened?</p>

      <description><![CDATA[Hello. I'm trying to make boots that look like Lynda Carter's Wonder Woman for G3. I have the heroic defender boots. They look great, but do not have the white stripe down the middle as a surface. I very badly want it.

I'm not experienced but willing to learn. Is there a way I can make this white stripe down the middle for Heroic Defender boots for G3?

I don't want to spend a lot for just boots, and they have to be the 70's WW boots. Not the Gal Gadot ones. Thank you!]]></description>

<p>I am having a problem with Opera browser and DIM.<br />
I started using Opera Browser recently and when on daz site if I get content and click the Download and install using dim button i get and error message.<br />
The message is &quot;</p>

<p>Unknown protocol</p>

<p>Opera was unable to open the link since no application<br />
associated with &quot;daz3dim:&quot; protocol was found on your system.&quot;</p>

<p>Yet if I open firefox and click button it works fine.</p>

<p>How do I get button to work properly with Opera Browser? Please.</p>

      <description><![CDATA[<p>Hi, I need some help. I wanted to create a new morph for G8F after modeling the base figure. However, by accident, I forgot to unparent the eyelashes before exporting--shame on me. So, of course, now every time&nbsp;I try to use Morph Loader Pro I get an unmatching&nbsp;geometry error. I should also add: I was so stupid that I forgot to save the original figure that I exported as an object. So I cannot export it again because only have the object saved. Question: Is there a way to get this fixed by modifying the object and have it match the G8F geometry?</p>

      <description><![CDATA[<p>The dforce Nun Dress promo image shows the veil and dress with wrinkles and folds which is great for looking realistic.</p>

<p>When I install on Mabel 8 the clothing is very smooth and stiff. I cannot figure out any controls that adds the wrinkles and folds.</p>
