      <description><![CDATA[<p>I recently got three new characters from the marketplace here, two of which seem to have a problem.&nbsp;The Genesis 8 Female Dao&nbsp;ends up with a mismatched&nbsp;facial texture that produces seams&nbsp;around the top of the head, in front of the ears, behind the rear jaw, and the front upper part of the neck if any of the included eye shadows(non-layered/LIE) are applied. Its partly&nbsp;comparable in looks to how makeup is applied to&nbsp;individuals imitating Donald Trump in a parody. Its still workable for me as I have another product with which to apply make-up, but still, we&#39;re generally paying the&nbsp;same price&nbsp;for other characters with similar features.&nbsp;</p>

<p><strong>The Genesis 8 Female Cristina is just straight up broke for Iray</strong>. Apparently the Iray&nbsp;skin option included with the character isn&#39;t Iray because it doesn&#39;t render. I suspect that the Iray texture is 3Dlight because it renders the same way. I&#39;ve included screenshots. I also noticed some of the lip colors on the thumbnails don&#39;t even come close to resembling the rendered colors. When it comes to the eye textures...&nbsp;&nbsp;WHY on earth would you burn like half a dozen reflected lights into the eye textures? It looks as if they&nbsp;lifted&nbsp;the texture from&nbsp;one of their&nbsp;other character renders that&nbsp;contained a bunch of spotlights/primitives and used&nbsp;that for this character&#39;s eye textures. <img alt="surprise" src="https://www.daz3d.com/forums/plugins/ckeditor/js/ckeditor/plugins/smiley/images/omg_smile.png" title="surprise" />&nbsp;If you&#39;re rendering a portrait or anything&nbsp;from a&nbsp;similar proximity &amp; angle, it looks kind of silly.</p>

<p>I understand little mistakes are made every now and then, but this is starting to get VERY irritating; especially if I have to load, test,&nbsp;and spot render every&nbsp;individual component&nbsp;of a product. If Daz doesn&#39;t test these vendor products via download and installation through the marketplace shop, may I make the suggestion of making some kind of a product review available so we all don&#39;t have to suffer through&nbsp;so many of these&nbsp;&quot;mistakes&quot; for ourselves, lol. <img alt="frown" src="https://www.daz3d.com/forums/plugins/ckeditor/js/ckeditor/plugins/smiley/images/confused_smile.png" title="frown" /></p>

      <description><![CDATA[<p>Hey all,</p>

<p>I am a returning user to Daz and am in the process of getting some basic IRAY texture skills back. I have been running into a problem when I add multiple surfaces to a single primative. In particular. I have a cube that I want one surface on the top and the rest as a separate surface. The top surface has a rubber texture with an image. The side and bottom have a rubber texture with just a light grey color. The process I used (in summary) is as follows:</p>

<p>Created a cube primative then scaled it to the size I wanted (am am making a hobby cutting mat for an image I am working on).&nbsp;</p>

<p>Added the uber-base iray surface to the entire model.</p>

<p>Changed the shader to a shiny rubber shader.</p>

<p>Added the texture image I want to appear on the top of the image.</p>

<p>Edited the geometry and added a second surface to the sides/bottom of the cube.</p>

<p>Applied the rubber-matt shader to this new surface. I did not keep the texture image.</p>

<p>The problem I am running into is that the side/bottom surface is still displaying the texture image. No matter what I do, even resetting the surface completely, I cannot get the texture image to not display. Below is screen grab showing the model and the settings for the side/bottom surface. You can see there is no texture image in the base color parameter.</p>

<p>Does anyone know what is going on? Any help would really be appreciated. It seems like a very simple issue but I&#39;ve not been able to find any similar posts on the forum on the &#39;Net in general. It has be kind of stuck at the moment.</p>

      <description><![CDATA[<p>Am I the only one that has this problem?? I can&#39;t seem to find anybody else complaining about this issu. You know, when you play with the shaping of a figure ; lets say you want your G3F model to have really large knees&nbsp; (yes knees why not heh?) so you somehow enlarge the knees in a way you like, but then of course the texture map and every others get stretched. After render you can see all the enlarged skin pores and thats a problem for me.</p>

<p>Now, I know I&#39;d have to play &nbsp;with the UV maps or&nbsp; ... I actually don&#39;t really know how to get through this.. Can you imagine a solution? I&#39;m not that much of a computer and software freak, but more of an artist..</p>

<p>I want my big realistic knees&nbsp; &nbsp;(lol)</p>

<p>No but seriously, is it doable? how would you go about</p>

      <description><![CDATA[<p>I&#39;m having major issues with DIM. It is not installing or uninstalling any content. It reads all of the zip files in the manifest archive every time I hit the refresh button. Once I install anything, all that info dissapears when I refresh. DIM is starting up postgres, but does not appear to store anything in CMS. The attached images show the initial state with nothing installed. I install one package (2nd image), and it&#39;s information is shown in dim (3rd image). Once I refresh, all the installed items dissapear, and it thrashes through the zip files again (4th image). Because of the amount of content, it takes about an hour and a half to re-read through all of the DIM zip folders. I have uninstalled and re-installed DIM, CMS and Studio to no avail. The DIM log indicates the correct folders and CMS connectivity, yet isn&#39;t&nbsp; retaining any of the install information. As per images, it is DIM 1.2.0.6 (64 bit) version, CMS is PostgreSQL 9.3.4. Any help or suggestions appreciated.</p>

      <description><![CDATA[<p>As the title suggests I am having trouble with&nbsp;<span>ColorWerks Hair Shaders for Iray. Every time I place a base color it looks nothing like the sample image in the content library. The hair color looks way to fake and cartoony&nbsp;in the actual render. I&#39;ve tried changing the shine, turning off Headlamp in render settings, and changing the&nbsp;Base Mixing but&nbsp;I still can&#39;t get it right. Can anyone help me with this problem and has anyone else had this problem before?</span></p>

      <description><![CDATA[<p>In Hexagon, I used the Boolean operation when making a drywall knife and a handplane.&nbsp; The items look fine in Hexagon.&nbsp; As the &quot;send to Daz Studio&quot; function does nothing I &quot;export&gt;Wavefront OBJ&quot;, then import into DAZ, and see the problems highlighted by the red arrows. The rivet holes are ragged, the plane blade has extra facets, the plane base is messed up. &nbsp; Maybe the problem is with the OBJ and if I could get the DAZ bridge to work...</p>

      <description><![CDATA[<p>I apologize if this is a bit of a dumb question, but I&#39;ve been racking my brain trying to figure this out. I&#39;m using the excellent AniLip software for speech animations, but it only writes to the Daz timeline. I&#39;ve been trying to figure out how to convert that timeline into an aniblock so I can incorporate the speech into larger animations, especially since AniLip only starts from frame 0 (my problems would be solved if I could get anlip to begin&nbsp;its animations at a particular frame).&nbsp;</p>

<p>Long story short...how do I convert timeline keyframes into an aniblock? I&#39;ve tried right-clicking on the Animate2 tab, but all it gives me is &quot;preferences&quot; and &quot;undock pane&quot; options. Any help would be really appreciated.&nbsp;</p>

      <description><![CDATA[<p>if any partial message took when my cat walked over the keyboard and did things I apologise for repeating myself.</p>

<p>I upgraded to Poser 11 and I&#39;m trying to get to grips with Superfly.&nbsp; I know my way around Firefly in the materials room, kinda sorta [the brute force method perhaps] but I am stymied.&nbsp; I just bought the BladeRaptor and TurboHawk,&nbsp; and I was looking forward to some spectacular renders.</p>

<p>WELL! I can&#39;t even figure out how to make the cockpit transparent, and the damn render looks like it&#39;s made of plastic, even with ramped up pixel samples.&nbsp; I pulled up shininess but nothing.&nbsp; What ought I do be doing?</p>

<p>I sussed out how to make Sub-surface scattering work on people eventually, I still haven&#39;t got the Sword Sisters textures for V4&#39;s armour to work properly [or in the case of one, at all] and I am despondent.&nbsp; Please help!</p>

<p>I&#39;ve been trying to migrate from my good old Poser Pro to Daz Studio and I keep encountering those persky &quot;how do I do that, in here&quot; scenarios.</p>

<p>This time I&#39;m trying to understand how, if it is possible to create mask for postwork: you know that nice flat white surface that then you can use for ... masking?</p>

<p>I&#39;ve been testing out a Mask and Multipass Toolbox but it doesn&#39;t work with any iray texture and surfaces, it produce a mask allright but it&#39;s pretty much a gradient gray render of each model I select.</p>

<p>&nbsp;</p>

<p>So the questions is pretty simple:<br />
Given a full picture with multiple props and figure, is there a way to select only what you want to mask out and produce that nice black and white picture for later postwork use?<br />

I have seen that there are several HDRI Iray presets in the store to illuminate (outdoors) in a simple way and get started with extraordinary results.<br />
Is there a preset that applies interior lighting recommended and easily configurable to start?<br />

P.D: I have done tests with the typical 3 points of light manually, but it is quite complicated to illuminate always when starting.<br />

      <description><![CDATA[<p>I have an issue with animation playback. It skips about 15 frames and I cannot get an idea of what the animation looks like before rendering. I think I pinpointed the culprit and would like to know if the playback issue is inevitable. I use G2F for the base figure and apply V4 Ruffle Blouse and a G3 Jacket. They certainly don&#39;t fit so I have to do quite a number of adjustments inluding smothing modifiers and transformers (V4 to G2, G3 to G2). When I remove those two items the playback i s normal.       <description><![CDATA[<p>Hi there! I have a rather interesting project ahead of me which requires the human body to be extremely morphed (to inhuman proportions) and I&#39;ve found that clothing isn&#39;t much of a fan of what I&#39;m trying to do. Is there an easy way to take the clothing textures and apply them directly to the skin? I understand the clothing patterns would be distorted with the morphing but that is a heck of a lot better than fixing each frame in photoshop (there will be movement of the model in this project)</p>

	<li><em>I load Genesis 8 Male and select it in the Scene Tab.</em></li>
	<li><em>I select the Edit menu from the title bar and click &#39;Start HeadShop...&#39;</em></li>
	<li><em>A dialogue box opens entitled &quot;HeadShop 6: Genesis 8 Male&quot; (I&#39;m not sure why that says &#39;6 &#39;instead of &#39;11&#39;...)</em></li>
	<li><em>I click &#39;accept&#39;</em></li>
	<li><em>An error box appears entitled &#39;<strong>HeadShopLoader</strong>&#39; with the error message &quot;<span><strong>Unable to export .obj file</strong></span>&quot;.</em></li>
</ol>

<p>The product is installed and the registration key has been entered.&nbsp; My PC meets all of the specs listed on the product page.&nbsp;</p>

      <description><![CDATA[<p>Hello, I need help putting a Didimo head on a Daz g3m figure.&nbsp;</p>

<p>Didimo makes the most accurate heads from a photo that I have seen. No marking points on the photo necessary.&nbsp; However, I know of no way to connect the mesh with a Daz G3M figure. FaceGen creates a slider within Daz to apply the faces it creates. However, I have not found FaceGen to be accurate.</p>

<p>Does anyone know how I could attach the Didimo mesh to the Daz figure and rigging?&nbsp;&nbsp;</p>

<p>not sure it this the place to post this issue.</p>

<p>i have bin working with Daz studio for a wail now and it was working great but today after launching DAZ Studio my viewport windows goes completely white. when i rotate within or when i load a charater the viewport blinks to show a normal grey viewport and then it blinks back to white.&nbsp; any sugestion on what might be causing this?</p>

      <description><![CDATA[<p>I&#39;ve noticed that sometimes the same scene, with all Iray materials, is rendered much faster by the CPU alone...does this make sense?</p>

<p>For example, to reach 70 iterations it took my GPU (1060 3Gb) 40 minutes, and the PC was slowed down a lot.</p>

<p>Now I&#39;m rendering it with my CPU (Ryzen 5 1600), and it&#39;s at 100 iterations in just 15 minutes: these are 3,8x more iterations per minute!!! And the PC is much more usable.</p>

<p>Do you know why? Am I doing something wrong? I&#39;ll attach the render made by my GPU.</p>

      <description><![CDATA[<p>I am working on a project but when I pan out to look at the enviroment from above, the lights installed on the cars continue through the &quot;solid&quot; buildings and cast no shadows.&nbsp; I have also noticed that the way that it looks on my screen and the render is totally different, screen Dark ( making a night scene) render looks like daylight .&nbsp;</p>

<p>Is there a setting for the lights that I am missing? Plus I cannot adjust the falloff for the lights so my spotlight continue all the way through the scene.</p>
