      <description><![CDATA[<p>Hey there!</p>

<p>For a render I need a G8F figure where only her face, head, neck, hands, and feet are visible.</p>

<p>So I used cutout opacity on a G8F&#39;s torso, arms, and legs.</p>

<p>In a way it works, the parts that should disappear indeed disappear.</p>

<p>But strangely, this also changes her skin to an ugly, greenish tone.</p>

<p>See attachments; you can see on the face (where no cutout opacity is applied) how her skin is supposed look like. There&#39;s a clear difference to the back of her head (which is part of the torso map.) This difference was not there before I applied cutout opacity, and I changed nothing else.</p>

<p>What&#39;s happening here, and how can I avoid it?</p>

      <description><![CDATA[<p>Not sure if this possible, but is there a way yo create a multi-material preset or a script that assigns multiple materials?</p>

<p>I have a model of an airplane, and there are MANY objects that create it.&nbsp; So far it looks like all I can do is create a material for one object.&nbsp; Essentially, I am ending up with dozens of material presets for a single scheme on my airplane (wings, ailerons, fuselage, flaps, etc etc).&nbsp; If I want another scheme&nbsp;for the plane, I will have to generate dozens more files... bad thing is I was hoping to create at least 6 different schemes.</p>

<p>I was hoping there was some way to &quot;package up&quot; these material presets so that I have only one item that needs to be applied.&nbsp; That way, I have only 6 &quot;packages&quot; instead of 60+ material presets.</p>

      <description><![CDATA[<p>Is there a search function or way to find your own username in the forum that doesn&#39;t just turn up the same most recent results regardless of the search term used?</p>

<p>I asked a question a few weeks ago about installing third party content into the smart content panel and got some very useful and detailed answers.&nbsp;</p>

<p>Things got busy over the holidays and I havent had a chance to actually use the info until now, but now I can&#39;t find the thread to read it again and make use of the responses.&nbsp;</p>

      <description><![CDATA[<p>This is more for my own education than anything, but I have a piece of clothing that I converted from Genesis to V4 using cross dresser.&nbsp; There are dangling pieces of loose fabric under the arms that don&#39;t move with the arm joints, so they just stretch when I move the shoulders up-down/front-back.</p>

<p>I&#39;d like to assign these to the shoulder, but I can&#39;t find the right buttons to press. LOL!&nbsp;&nbsp;</p>

<p>I assume this is possible in Daz?&nbsp; So as a starting point, do I need to look at the joint editor, gemometry editor, other?&nbsp; Thank you for your time.</p>

      <description><![CDATA[<p>So&nbsp;I created a morphs in Zbrush that changes the height of the character a bit and it transferred fine with GoZ, and the eyelashes seemed fine. I adjusted the bones to the new shape and saved.</p>

<p>When I reopen the file the eyelashes are floating in front of the cheeks. Anyone have a theory / suggestion as to what I&#39;ve done wrong?</p>

      <description><![CDATA[<p>Just discovered PowerPose, seems a very useful and largely friendly animation tool.&nbsp;&nbsp; Except that it routinely crashes DAZ.&nbsp; I&#39;m on Mac running Yosemite if that helps.&nbsp; As best I can tell so far, the crashes seem to happen when you click on a control point in PowerPose that is outside of the character.</p>

<p>Given how new I am to both PowerPose and DAZ it seems entirely possible I&#39;m doing something wrong.&nbsp; Any tips will be most appreciated.&nbsp;&nbsp; Thanks!</p>

      <description><![CDATA[<p>I&#39;m a total DAZ newbie, and expect this post will earn me many snorts :-) but anyway, here&#39;s something I found helpful.</p>

<p>As you surely know, rendering with Iray takes forever.&nbsp; You might grow old and die before your animation is fully rendered.&nbsp; As a total nube who is just playing around, I simply don&#39;t have the patience for that, so I found a work around that allows you to export your animation at full speed.&nbsp; As example, if you&#39;ve created a 5 minute animation, you can turn it in to a movie in 5 minutes.</p>

<p>1) Go to the little lines icon in the upper right corner of the Viewport and turn off gird lines and controls, so that they don&#39;t appear in the Viewport.</p>

<p>2) Run your animation.</p>

<p>3) Screen record the Viewport! :-)</p>

<p>That&#39;s all there is to it.&nbsp;</p>

<p>Ok, sure, yes, yes, the image quality will not match an Iray render.&nbsp; But if you&#39;re just fooling around, the image quality in the Viewport aint&#39; bad, good enough for government work.</p>

<p>If you want to be fancy, you can take your video and green screen the background out in a video editor like Hitfilm.&nbsp; Now your character is on a transparent background and can be layered on top of any other video.&nbsp; (Be sure your character does not contain the color of the Viewport background.)</p>

<p>Tired of waiting 22 days for your animation to render?&nbsp;&nbsp; Just a hobbyist and not a professional?&nbsp;</p>

<p>Screen record the Viewport, export in real time.</p>

<p>Ok, I&#39;m done.&nbsp; It&#39;s time for you to do your job here.&nbsp; Start snorting!&nbsp; :-)</p>

      <description><![CDATA[I created a custom FBM for my genesis 8 female character exported it and brought it into unity rig was set to humanoid i made a seperate model with animations and no morphs and brought it into unity also, on the model with morphs in the blend shapes if I have the FBM set to 0 and play the animation it's fine but once I change it to 100 the arms rotate at crazy Angle. I've spent the last 5 hours trying to wrap my head around it and I cant figure it out any and all help is appreciated!!]]></description>

<p>I&#39;ve been having a rather strange problem lately... I want to render a scene that has an environment and 3 characters. I scaled the characters&#39; textures down so they could fit my GPU memory. When I try to render, however, DS tries to allocate almost an additional 12GB of RAM (it was taking less than 2GB before rendering and goes to 13GB while processing scene), leading to a crash, since I have only 16GB. Before the crash, though, I can confirm that my scene is taking around 7GB of my VRAM (which is completely withing my GPU&#39;s limit). What is up with that RAM usage?</p>

      <description><![CDATA[<p>As title says. I was making a fantasy flying nymph scene in a pool of water. I have two characters that come with complete sets of body tattoos as an option. Luisa for gen 8 females and the other one I forgot the name of but which also comes with a metalic bluish skin option.&nbsp; When I apply the meatlic skin or the body tattoos, when I render the scene in Iray the characters remain pixleated while the rest of the scene renders perfectly fine. Including the fairie wings and hair. If I use the 3d setting the characters render fine but slightly cartoonish but the waterfall comes out an oily black color while the pool of water dosn&#39;t show up at all.</p>

<p>&nbsp;</p>

<p>Is there a way to render the scene in Iray with the meatic skin and or the tattoos and have the characters not be pixleated?</p>

      <description><![CDATA[<p>Hi Everyone! I have a problem with one of my characters which is derived from the Genesis 8 Female base character. I&#39;m not sure how I messed it up, but it now loads with both the Left and Right Thigh Bend | Side-Side settings at -9.18 and +9.18 respectively. Once I zero them out they emulate the correct default GF8 positions. However, the parameters are not the same as the default, so switch back to the incorrect numbers (relatively) after applying different poses. I screen captured both the incorrect and zeroed states of the Parameter Settings with the &#39;Keys&quot; tab selected, which shows the incorrect Raw values.</p>

<p>I would greatly appreciate some advice about how to fix this, if possible. Thanks in advance!</p>

      <description><![CDATA[<p>The renders come out fine, but I&#39;m working without textures in the viewport.</p>

<p>I am in perspective view, and it is set to texture shaded.&nbsp; I did not change the draw settings or anything.</p>

<p>I&#39;m using 4.10.&nbsp; I was installing DAZ new on a new computer, hadn&#39;t used the program in a while but was not new to DAZ.&nbsp; Please help me understand why this keeps happening!&nbsp; I had this problem the first day.&nbsp; For a day or so everything was normal-- wasn&#39;t sure how it got &quot;fixed&quot;-- and now we are back to no textures in the viewport.</p>

<p>I have uninstalled and reinstalled repeatedly.</p>

      <description><![CDATA[<p>I&#39;ve been having this problem with Genesis 3 males on a computer that&#39;s got me stumped.&nbsp; It renders fine on one system with an Intel CPU.&nbsp; On the AMD CPU (Threadripper), the joints are all bad.&nbsp; They&#39;re bigger, like perhaps the JCMs aren&#39;t loading.</p>

<p>They have all the same DAZ content.&nbsp; The Intel system drive got corrupted &amp; I had to install Windows and everything.&nbsp; From the AMD system, I exported what was installed to a CSV, then used that list to install everything.&nbsp; Should be the same save a few smart content items, but I&#39;m at least 99% sure none of what I had is for G3M.&nbsp; Before the blowup, I had the same results.&nbsp; After the blowup, still the same - rebuilt Intel rig renders well, AMD rig does not.&nbsp; Another difference, my Daz content is installed on the C: drive of the Intel system.&nbsp; On the AMD, most is on the D: drive.</p>

<p>I had a similar with G3F, that seemed to be from incomplete morph directories on one drive (C:).&nbsp; I moved all the morphs over to D:, that seemed to cure it.&nbsp; I think it helped once here with G3M, but most of the time it doesn&#39;t.&nbsp; I also tried wiping the entire&nbsp;&quot;data\DAZ 3D\Genesis 3\Male&quot; directory from the AMD system, and copying the files and dirs from the Intel system over to it.&nbsp; That didn&#39;t work.</p>

<p>I looked at the logs, removed the timestamps and compared the text files.&nbsp; Can&#39;t find any reason in the log why it&#39;s happening.&nbsp; Another forum thread pointed to a problem with Skinchangers.&nbsp; I confirmed I don&#39;t have that.&nbsp;&nbsp;</p>

      <description><![CDATA[<p>I'm trying to add custom icons/cards to some morph dials in DS 4.6, but, no matter what I do, I can't get them to stick.</p>

<p>First I create the PNGs for the icons/cards. Then I open up G2F, since I want to add the icons to morphs on her. Under Parameters, I browse to the dial to which I want to add an icon. I click the gear and then Properties. When the Properties window comes up, I browse for Icon and Card PNGs that I want. I preview the result to see that it looks right, then hit Accept.</p>

<p>And...now what? I don't know how to make these additions of icons appear in all current instances of G2F or in all new instances, for that matter. I have tried saving this G2F in a scene, but the icons don't stick. I've tried saving her as a modified figure [or maybe asset -- don't remember], but the icons don't stick. I've tried saving the morphs as modified assets, but the icons don't stick. What step am I missing here?</p>

      <description><![CDATA[<p>So, since the last major update, I&#39;ve run into a HUGE problem with DAZ. It is taking figures FOREVER to load.</p>

<p>From when I asked DAZ to open G8M, it took 3:02.</p>

<p>I then decided to apply the Owen figure to G8M (just the regular one, not the HD one). Now, it would be FASTER to load Owen as a new figure, but I wanted to apply it because I know this is where things have gotten really long. If I do anything during this time period while it&#39;s loading, DAZ will crash.</p>

<p>The load time from when I told DAZ to apply Owen to G8M was 11:24.</p>

<p>I wanted to make some Simulation and I have found that my nvidia graphic card is not there (see the screenshot)</p>

<p>The only choice I have is to use my AMD card (who is weaker)</p>

<p>I have unistal and instal curend drivers 417.35 and last update of windows 10 1809. And done the same with daz studio (delete - install)</p>

<p>I have tried the two last update of nvidia 417.22 and 417.01. The problem is still here.</p>

<p>What&#39;s strange is that everything else work perfect. I can use Iray and in Current Hardware Feature my graphic card is appearing GTX 750 TI.</p>

      <description><![CDATA[<p>Head scratcher needs help,</p>

<p>Today, I found that ALL my G8M figures load strangely.&nbsp; Their bodies are thin like teenagers, head bulbous.&nbsp; I checked the Currently Used parameters for morphs that may not have zero default.&nbsp; Everything is clean, nothing out of the ordinary.&nbsp; See the attachment.</p>

<p>Then I zeroed out the Michael 8 and Lee 8 body and head and still no luck.</p>

<p>Note, these bad load results happen&nbsp;only to G8M.&nbsp; G8Fs are fine as well as G3M and G3F.&nbsp; No clue what changed.</p>

<p>Has anyone experienced this before?</p>

      <description><![CDATA[<p>Yesterday I did a cleanup of my database after Measure Metrics had vanished from my product librabry. I did a complete reinstall of al&ouml;l my products which come from different stores. I thought he worst thign was my tediously createad categorization was not able to be retored by reimporting the user data - but it never rains... all my saved character, property and shape presets have gone missing. They are still there as files biut how on earth can I get them back into my smartt content library? Any advise would be greatly appreciated, thanks go out in advance!</p>
