Hi all.

I've currently got a system that boasts 8GB of RAM, 1.9GB set aside for video (built in) and a i5 3.2GHz quad core processor, and I'm wondering what everyone else is running, if you folks are willing to share. Here's why...

Lately I've been running into an issue where I get more than three or four characters in a scene, I get all sorts of screen flickering issues and stutters that I have written off to lack of either RAM or video memory. Also, I've hit an issue where the Daz interface itself is redrawing at almost seizure inducing frequency. Then, when I finally get to being able to render it's "Not responding, working fine, not responding, working fine, not responding, working fine leave me the f#$% alone!" rinse, repeat.

I do have a more powerful system on the drawing board, but it requires funding (more whining on that later), but this one isn't exactly a spud either. Is there some mystery setting I'm missing, or is it just a matter of raw power?

Thanks in advance for the input and opinions.

Hello everybody, I am trying to find a solution that works to export a G8 animated character (poses and morphs) into C4DR19. I already tried to export in different formats like fbx and collada without success. Exporting a g8 without animation is pretty easy and everything is working perfectly. The problem is when the characters are animated. It happen also with G3 characters. Once in C4D the characters are completely deformed and some parts are out of the skeleton The face morphs are deforming completely the shape. I can see that all the morphs and pose are imported but it's like they are completely freaking out the character and there is no way to fix it. I have been following many threads and tutorial but I am still stock. I was thinking about buying the Alembic exporter from Daz but if I have to be honest I am pretty scared. I already bought a lot of stuff on Daz but the assistance on exporting process is not guaranteed. Plus I can't really find anything that proves that the Alembic exporter workflow is working perfectly on morph and poses. It would be very helpful to have a tip from the developers too on this issue. I think Daz is a powerful tool but if we are not able to switch between softwares it's just a loss of money and time for people like me that have this kind of workflow. If someone has experienced this issue or could give some tips to this issue would be very nice.

Thanks

Yes I can edit the .hdr pano in Photoshop and bring up the exposure of just the sun area but what am I doing wrong initially? As I have good bracketed exposures, is the problem with the way I'm using PTGUI Pro - any experts out there who can shed some 'light' on the subject?

Today I bought a GTX 1070Ti and added it to my GTX 1060 6GB.

I'm making my own bodysuit out of genesis 2 male flesh and rigging it when I import back into Daz. Everything's fine except that the figure is really muscular and it's reapplying the morphs to the already morphed clothing so that now he looks like steroid boy.

I need the uniform morphed so I can retopo and UV it properly. Just importing to a nonmorphed uniform on an unmorphed figure and then morphing it makes my uniform look fugly cuz the UV's are all wrong. And obviously retopologizing changes the topology so I have to make the UV map before I rig the model.

I've read some of the advice and evidently you gotta set something from zero to one and I couldn't find it and then some other stuff.

Could someone please assume I'm really really stupid and tell me what do to so the body morph doesn't effect the clothing when I rig it. It's the perfect size and placement already. Weight it like it is Daz. Oh and I realize this is probably a difficult problem that sounds like a not so difficult problem so I'm willing to do hard work. But I just couldn't find what the sam heck what was being said.. Maybe Daz being 4 10 has something to do with it. The advice was from 2014.

I've tried searching around and found very little information about what it means when you open a scene file and Daz Studio is "Building Projection Map". The few references to this step I've found in the forums were people having an issue where it locks up during that step, and there was either no response at all or attempts to solve what might be the problem, but nobody actually explained what the software is doing or what a projection map is in this context.

The reason I am curious about this is that some scenes will take a very long time to complete this step, while others will only take a few moments, and I can't really predict which will occur based on scene contents or size. If I knew what it was actually doing from a technical perspective I might be able to work around it somehow.

I'm gonna come back to my main PC in a few days, I'll format it and install W10 from the ground, and I need to backup my Daz library: I don't know why, I always fail, somehow, at this.

I currently have

7Gb of freebies, with metadata applied dragging them into the correct Smart Content tab.

45Gb of Daz Connect products.

This is how I would backup everything:

DAZ CONNECT: Copy-Paste my datas into the matching folder, then let Daz check if everything's alright after the log in.

FREEBIES: Copy-Paste data and Runtime into "My Daz Library", and add the custom folders with Clothings/Footwear/Accessories/Tattoos/Poses in the same place where I currently have it.

But what about the metadata? I know I can backup them right clicking on "Smart Content" and selecting "Export Product Metadata". Then what?

Thank you all in advance!

Hi everyone! :D
I'm a complete noob with dForce.

This is my 2nd try.

I'm using this product: https://www.daz3d.com/dforce-adrian-gown-for-genesis-8-females

I've installed it through Daz Connect, and it doesn't have any "Utility" file (like the ones I've used in my first try)

It simulates for a couple minutes, then it always shows up an error, seeing to examine the log files. Here are the last lines:

2019-01-03 13:16:47.899 Spring(46820, 46843) of node "8gf_AdrianFishtailGown" extended: rest length < collsion offset (0.169622 < 0.20001)
2019-01-03 13:16:47.900 Spring(46909, 46982) of node "8gf_AdrianFishtailGown" extended: rest length < collsion offset (0.0671265 < 0.20001)
2019-01-03 13:16:47.902 Spring(93065, 93067) of node "8gf_AdrianFishtailGown" extended: rest length < collsion offset (0.167058 < 0.20001)
2019-01-03 13:16:47.904 Shortest spring had length: 0.0183241
2019-01-03 13:18:13.049 WARNING: ..\..\..\src\dzopenclkernelfactory.cpp(32): Open CL notify: CL_MEM_OBJECT_ALLOCATION_FAILURE error executing CL_COMMAND_NDRANGE_KERNEL on GeForce GTX 1050 (Device 0).

2019-01-03 13:18:13.055 WARNING: ..\..\..\src\dzdynamicsengine.cpp(2867): ERROR: Memory Object Allocation Failure (-4)
2019-01-03 13:18:13.159 Total Simulation Time: 1 minutes 31.39 second

How could I solve this problem?

Is it over my VRAM capacity? Would this change if I reduced its textures? Couldn't the CPU do the simulation?

I have the same problem with another product (BG Dress, I can't find it on the store right now), but it has that utilitie I was talking about.

After the error, I can't simulate any other thing, and when I close Daz a crash window shows up.

Hello - Whilst trying to sort out DAZ3D problems I seem to have created another. I've inadvertantly 'clicked' in the wrong place and my content library has disappeared. Try as I might I have been unable to restore it to the original lists etc. Would someone be kind enough to help me sort this out please.

Thank you - Have a nice day.

Hello,

I'm running into a problem with one of my characters on a new installation of Daz on a new laptop. When I try to load this character, I get a long list of missing files to include the genesis3female.dsf file.

After some very careful checking (including, of course, recopying the "data" folder under "My Library" and making sure that all of the files were present), and doing the de-regeur contend db maintenance steps, I was still running in to the problem. I looked more closely at the error log as well as the Missing files message and discovered an oddity, to whit:

data/daz 3d/paula /paula/genesis3female.dsf

.... etc etc. Do you see it? No it isn't the double directory entry "paula /paula". Look very carefully at the FIRST "paula". It's "paula ". With a space after the folder name. Odd.

I checked the folder structure on the old laptop and the space does not exist in the pathname.

Here's my question.... how do I edit and what, exactly, do I edit, to resolve this oddity?

FYI this copy took place in two ways, first via thumb drive and when that presented this odd space thing, I did a direct copy via wifi on a homegroup. Same result. The old laptop is a Windows 7 machine and the new one of course is Windows 10.

Any ideas?

EDIT: I have of course checked the pathname on the new PC as well, and the space of course does not exist there, either. So this is something to do with Postrgres, I'm thinking.

I've read the posts on here about grainy renders, and frankly, I don't know enough about this program to understand the technical jargon, so I thought I'd post my specific situation and see if anyone can help.

I first rendered my image with only a few distant lights. A friend told me she uses a couple of spotlights and maxes out the intensity, so I added 10 spotlights all pointing at my render with 200% intensity.

It's still rendering very very dark. It looks no different than when I had just the distant lights. Any thoughts?

Hello! As from title: I need to spawn only the eyes region from an eastern character to use them to "orientalize" a western character (trying to create a "half-blooded" guy). I found this work easy with the mouth, formerly, because I could select the "lips" material from the Materials section in the "Divide" tab; but I don't know what to use to select correctly the eyes region; I don't want to change the higher side of my character's head shape, so using an horizontal plane does not fit, and am not sure how to use the Vertex section. Any clues on how to get this done?

Thanks in advance!
