      <description><![CDATA[<p>...OK beginning the big clean re-install of all Daz content through the DIM. and have a couple questions ot make sure I get this correct as the last time I built my library/runtime setup I first started with the old Bitrock installers as the DIM wasn&#39;t yet available .&nbsp; So about half the content used old installers and everything that I purchased later was installed with the DIM (really messed with the database).</p>

<p>So on the&nbsp;<em><strong>Ready to Install</strong></em>&nbsp;tab, If I check the box that says &quot;<span><em>Delete package once installed</em></span>&quot;, all that means is:</p>

<p>1. it will not create&nbsp;a backup of the installers on my drive.</p>

<p>2. I would be able to redownload the a content file later to re-install if I needed to (like if something gets corrupted),&nbsp;correct?</p>

<p>Since I am doing a complete clean install of everything do I need to also install the <em>Valentina to Postgre </em>conversion as well,&nbsp;or just the <em>Postgre DB</em>.&nbsp; Also I take it installign teh DB would be advisable before installing any content/plugins, correct?</p>

      <description><![CDATA[<p>I haven&#39;t done much animating, and don&#39;t have the timeline time open, as it is after install, at the bottom of the UI.</p>

<p>Because of the Timeline size and dimensions, when I do open it, it&#39;s horribly in the way and I have to move it constantly to work with the other tabs.</p>

<p>I can dock the tab on either side, just pop it in among Parameters and Scene or something. but that takes up the whole screen sideways.</p>

<p>Dumb question, I&#39;m sure, but how to get the Timeline tab docked at the bottom of the UI again?</p>

<p>I hope someone can help me with this problem.</p>

<p>I just notices this today. When I use the Genesis 8 Male (doesn&#39;t matter if I use the Genesis 8 Basic Male or any other G8M Character) the upper body makes some weird curvatures like you can see at the screenshot.</p>

<p>First I thought, this happens with only a few poses, but this happens with every pose, where the upper body of the G8M bends forward. Then, I tried to use the same poses on G3M and even G8F and G3F Basic and different characters. Somehow, the poses work correctly there, even though they are G8M Poses. So I reinstalled the Genesis 8 Starter Essentials Male but the problem still exist. How can I solve this Problem?</p>

      <description><![CDATA[<p>So I&#39;m trying to work with HDRIs now and I&#39;m finding that they&#39;re working out great as long as I have my camera at or around eye level.&nbsp; I recently came across this picture below as part of an HDRI set that has the camera really close to ground level.&nbsp; Now&nbsp;when I move the camera the HDRI background moves with me and the view stays the same...&nbsp; How do I set it so that the camera can get close to the ground like that?&nbsp; The ground she&#39;s sitting on is (I&#39;m pretty sure) part of the HDRI image itself...</p>

<p>EDIT:&nbsp; Never mind, I just went and bought it and it&#39;s a finite sphere w/ ground, whereas earlier I&#39;d been using just plain HDRIs.&nbsp; So I guess that solves that.</p>

      <description><![CDATA[<p>I purchased the Confluence Apartment and have been unable to scale individual items down to the size of an actor. Typically, when I import .obj files I can use scaling to increase the decrease the size of the model to fit, but in this case, nothing seems to work! I&#39;ve tried using the over-all scaling and axis scaling down to -50,000 and I still cannot get individual assets anywhere near&nbsp;the size of the model. Can anyone provide a bit of guidance?&nbsp;Thanks, in advance.&nbsp;</p>

<p>I&#39;ve installed DAZ Studio 4.10 from the scratch and <strong>all</strong> the default available content including all Genesis 8 (both female and male).</p>

<p>When trying to load a default Genesis 8 Female figure got the popup error regarding the eye lashes (attached). However, the file is, definitely there in the correct path.</p>

<p>When i click OK the figure got loaded correctly but with the grey block on eyes of the figure.</p>

<p>Any tips to fix that ?</p>

<p>I am on MAC and using the content from the local NAS mapped to my macbook.</p>

<p>I&#39;m trying my hand at creating a smart content folder for some custom content.&nbsp; I&#39;ve been successful (thanks to Cgan&#39;s Smartening <em>Up the Daz Studio Database</em> tutorial), but one thing I can&#39;t figure out is how to get that lovely large thumbnail you see when you hover over the Main Product in Smart Content (I can get the larger 256X256 hover thumbnail by using *.tip.png in my prop and material thumbs).&nbsp; I looked in the .../Runtime/Support/ folder and could only find the 110x143 or 114x148 small thumbnails.&nbsp; I can&#39;t find where the larger hover tumbnails might be.</p>

      <description><![CDATA[<p>This is strange and I don&#39;t know what&#39;s causing it. In some projects, it works as normal. I copy a keyframe move the cursor, and paste keyframe.</p>

<p>In some projects it always pastes the keyframe ON THE NEXT frame! It causes <span>[confusion],</span>...lol.What is the reason?</p>

      <description><![CDATA[<p>This has happened to me several times, and I&#39;m annoyed enough to post about it.&nbsp; I buy a lovely piece of art from the store (for this example, the Ailisy outfit by Aeon Soul, a very popular artist indeed!).&nbsp; I install it and quickly play around with it.&nbsp;</p>

<p>Then... oh no... i notice an issue.&nbsp; It might be a big deal, it might not, but something slipped past the artist&#39;s QA.&nbsp; I would love to have the issue fixed, but more importantly, I&#39;d love to let the artist know about it.&nbsp; Surely they would want to fix something they probably never knew about?&nbsp; I&#39;d be mad if it were my product and I could have fixed it for a customer instead of having that customer return the item for a refund.</p>

<p>But there&#39;s NO way I can find to drop a note to an artist!&nbsp; I&#39;ve tried contacting tech support and suggesting that they pass along the information to the artist, but the reponse is always &quot;Daz Studio seems to be working right, so we&#39;re closing your ticket.&quot;&nbsp; Yeah, I get it... but I&#39;m not saying Daz isn&#39;t working.&nbsp; I want to let the artist know, and, yeah, maybe get a fix.&nbsp; Otherwise I&#39;m just returning the product, and then the artist is happy and I&#39;m not happy.</p>

<p>The latest example... Ailisy.&nbsp; The boots don&#39;t autofit to Gen 8 figures.&nbsp; They get posed so that the foot sticks out the front.&nbsp; Surely a simple fix for an artist as prolific as Aeon Soul... but I can&#39;t inform them!&nbsp; Not even a comments section!&nbsp; Daz!&nbsp; Why!!!!!!&nbsp; The helpful response from Tech Support .. the product page doesn&#39;t mention Gen 8, just Gen 3, so you&#39;re on your own.&nbsp; Gads.</p>

<p>Unless there is a way that I don&#39;t know about... does anyone know?</p>

But when I go to open a new project, following the instructions on the video tutorial at<br />

      <description><![CDATA[<p>Hello all,</p>

<p>I am am pretty new to Daz3D and I&rsquo;ve been doing some basic renders using the included tutorials. &nbsp;When I select the video card only (almost 5 year old Gigabyte NVIDIA card), the scene does not render. &nbsp;The window pops up, but it goes to all black. &nbsp;This is when using the Iray selection for rendering. The docs on the card do say that it supports CUDA Technology.</p>

<p>The card&nbsp;is a Gigabyte GV-N6500C-2GI Rev 1.1</p>

<p>Thank you for any help. &nbsp;I know that the card is older, and I will replace it once I am back to work from surgery.</p>

      <description><![CDATA[<p>I wasn&#39;t seeing the dForce options in Edit/Figure/Geometry. Read in the forums to run Update Merge Menus from Workspace pane. Worked. Got the dForce options in Edit.</p>

<p>But, it eliminated all the custom actions I had in Scripts. The custom actions remain in the Customization Pane, and in the tool bar where I put them for quick access. Just not in Scripts in Main Menu. The size of the custom actions file in User appdata remains unchanged, so I know they&#39;re all still there, but 4.10.0.123 doesn&#39;t access them once Update Merge Menus has run. That&#39;s a bug. Update doesn&#39;t mean overwrite or erase. And it doesn&#39;t mean update some menus and remove other menus. I&#39;m fairly sure about that. Actually, I&#39;m certain about it.</p>

<p>I can restore my Custom workspace, and get the Custom Actions back in Scripts, but I lose the dForce options in Edit.</p>

<p>Doesn&#39;t make sense that this should be an either/or situation. Does anyone know where the scripts tab gets its list from, so I can move it manually? Or any other fix that a user can do?</p>

<p>UPDATE: Just to add a little zest to the annoyance factor, I went ahead and ran Update Merge Menus again, and manually added my Custom Actions to Main Menu/Scripts via the Customization Pane.</p>

<p>Added 23 custom actions, Apply, Accept. then looked at Main Menu/Scripts and only 7 of my actions are there. Back to Customization Pane, Main Menu/Scripts... all the actions I added still show up in the list, they just don&#39;t show up in Main Menu. Or... er... some of them do... just not all.</p>

<p>So, a Customization pane bug ? I can&#39;t help wondering if it has anything to do with the apparently ongoing Visual Menus debacle.</p>

<p>Still open to a fix if anyone knows how.</p>

      <description><![CDATA[<p>I have no idea why this is happening. I currently don&#39;t own any of the morph packs, only use characters that don&#39;t need them or one&#39;s that can partially morph her. The image below is the base character and that is how she loads (I added the skin after she loaded), with screwed up hip bones and it affects every character I apply to her. I thought maybe redownloading the starter pack and installing it again might fix the problem, but didn&#39;t happen. This only happens with the G8 Female, I have no issues with the Male version. It also does not happen with any other model version (just finished loading and checking for a possible repeat on other versions). I am using Daz 4.10 64bit version, and it happens in the 32 bit version as well. Yes I have both on my computer.</p>

<p>Does anyone know what is going on and how I can fix this?</p>

<p>This has now happened a couple of times , both with external ibls imported and with ibl content from daz. I make the scene up, and then when i go to check it in the irayl section of the prevue screen or render using iray, all i get is the IBL image, no content no ground plane, nothing.&nbsp;</p>

<p>I thought at first there must be a dome or something in the scene but it happens with all vue points and all cameras when it happens, which is not every time.&nbsp;</p>

<p>&nbsp;</p>

<p>No idea whats causing this and would love to solve it.&nbsp;</p>

      <description><![CDATA[<p>When I installed DAZ, I went with the defaults and &quot;My DAZ 3D Library&quot; was placed under C:\Users\Public\Documents and every time I purchased something, that is where everything was placed. Over the years I have purchased a LOT of content and now the &quot;My DAZ 3D Library&quot; folder is taking up 333GB on my hard drive. I purchased a 4TB external drive and would like to move the &quot;My DAZ 3D Library&quot; folder over to that drive and have DIM start installing new content over there in the future.</p>

<p>... but I don&#39;t want to mess anything up and potentially lose everything ...</p>

<p>What is the easiest AND safest way of doing this? If someone could point out the steps, I would greatly appreciate it. Thank you in advance.</p>

      <description><![CDATA[<p>This has probably been asked before, but a search didn&#39;t find the right answer. I&#39;ve bought a new faster computer with a new nvidia card. My old computer has Daz Studio and the content library on the C: drive and the DIM downloads and the manifest files on the E: drive. The new computer has an SSD as the C: drive. Can I simply install Studio and DIM to the new C: drive, copy the content library to the new E: drive, copy the DIM downloads to the new E: drive, and point Studio and DIM to the new directory locations? I have in excess of 1 TB of installed content, and don&#39;t care to redownload and reinstall all of that content. The new computer is running Windows 10 with a GeForce RTX 2080 graphics card.       <description><![CDATA[<p>Hello,</p>

<p>Is there an easy way to replace a figure in a scene with a new figure, basically swapping figures, but keeping pose and possibly even wardrobe?</p>

<p>Right now, the way I am doing it is tedious. First I merge the new figure into the scene, then I select the original figure and Edit/Copy/Copy Figure. Then select the new figure and Edit/Paste/Paste Figure Pose. From there I have to move the new figure into the space the old figure occupied and then reapply wardrobe items.&nbsp;</p>

<p>It would be nice if there was just a way to swap the figure but keep everything else the same.</p>

      <description><![CDATA[<p>Ok done a animation with 1500 frames, and several thousand keyframes&nbsp;on timeline.but one thing I can&#39;t get in my head.</p>

<p>I have done blinks and facial expression with animate, to better move around, rest timeline.</p>

<p>Why when I am on timeline and I use e.g. &quot;eyes side to&nbsp;side&quot; I can make keyframes and adjust the value. But some things like &quot;brows&quot; for example don&#39;t work. If I change the value from 0 to 50 for example, and I go to next frame, it jumps back to previous.</p>

<p>Does somehow animate&nbsp;block the timeline, because the brow value is probably used in the aniblock? If yes, I stop using animate....tried several days to get my head around....just does wierd&nbsp;stuff. With simple&nbsp;</p>

<p><em>You can not use both AniMate and the timeline at the same time. While you have AniBlocks active/visible (the eye icon next to the track name on the left side in AniMate) the AniMate plug-in is in control, and AniBlocks will play. Disabling all AniBlocks transfers control to the Daz timeline. Only one of these can be used at any time, not both together.<br />
If AniMate takes control, any keyframes on the timeline will disappear.</em></p>

<p><em>As Jaderail says, you can bake AniBlocks to the timeline, but be aware that this will replace any previous animations on the timeline. (Not sure if all keys will be replaced, or only as far as the length of the AniBlock.) (Baking to the timeline will leave the AniBlocks in AniMate, but disable them as I </em><em>mention</em><em> above)</em></p>

<p><strong>Don&#39;t understand this. My animation is using </strong><strong>aniblocks</strong><strong>&nbsp;AND timeline.....both work together. </strong>I even adjust/finetune blinks&quot;eyeclose&quot; on timeline, which are blocks on animate. If above would be true, I cannot do that. Also&nbsp;I have eye movements in aniblock(Expressions) but can still adjust in timeline.</p>

<p>I&#39;m unable to get any nail material or color I change or load to show on the figure. In the surface tab, the images are there, the colors are there, but they do not show up on the figure. I have yet to achieve this with any no-suit character I have. The surface area that does color the nail also colors the entire hand, so I&#39;m guessing this product changed up the zone? I&#39;d really like to use the no-suit for masks, but still have painted fingernails on characters.</p>

<p>In the meantime, I created and copied a base G8F to the no-suit figure, making everything except the arms Opacity %0, then making the no-suit&#39;s arms Opacity %0. Of course, I won&#39;t be able to use the no-suit sleeves this way and have nail coloring. I don&#39;t know much about Daz and Iray, but does reducing most of the second figure reduce the workload? Or is it no different than having to render two figures? Just to double-check.</p>

      <description><![CDATA[<p>Is there a method, script, etc. that can export PBR surfaces for use outside of DS?&nbsp; The docs are pretty skimpy beyond the basics but might there simply be a menu or tool I&#39;m not seeing?&nbsp; Stummbled across something for layered textures awhile ago, but can&#39;t find it now. Even a spreadsheet type listing export would be helpful frankly.</p>

<p>When something is exported from Daz, whether it be FBX, OBJ, etc., only the base surfaces get assigned and copied.&nbsp; At least this is the case using Lightwave.&nbsp; At present, I&#39;m just examining the surfaces in Daz, making notes, &amp; trying to whang together an equivalent.&nbsp; I know where all of the source maps Daz uses are, but there are definite terminology differences of settings in the UI that is a guessing process at best.&nbsp; More info on thaose would be nice too.</p>

<p>I&#39;ve been using DAZ Studio for about a month now and I love it.</p>

<p>One of my figures uses the G8 Body and Head morphs. It took me a long time to get the figure just the way I wanted it to be.</p>

<p>So my question is:</p>

<p>1. Is there a way to copy the morphs from one figure to another, so I don&#39;t have to repeat the effort all over again?</p>

<p>OR</p>

<p>2. Is there a way to print the &quot;Used&quot; Parameters for a figure from the Parameters tab so that I can use the printed copy to input just the used parameters on the new figure?</p>

<p>Any help is greatly appreciated,</p>

      <description><![CDATA[<p>I did relocate the contents to other drive from C:, so having d:Daz:Content.</p>

<p>Now the install manager after computer reboot shows 0 files installed, when before compuer reboot things went well, and the new items were found on Daz Studio properly.</p>

<p>There is now 532 files, ~30GB ready to download, when those files are on Daz/Content, so what file or something tells DIM that where the files are, until I end up to the solution Format C:?</p>
