      <description><![CDATA[<p>I had TC2 on my wish list and on 31 January&nbsp;put it and the V4 and M4 plug-ins into my cart. I came back a while later, and TC2 was gone from the cart. It was still on my wish list priced as free, but it would not ,ove to my cart. It now seems to be gone entirely from the store, so I&#39;m left wondering, why buy the plug-ins?</p>

      <description><![CDATA[<p>Ok, I get that dForce settings are controlled via surfaces, I do (I think that&#39;s a bad design idea, it would have been better in my view for dForce modifiers to use vertex groups - these could even be automatically copied on the fly when a dForce modifier is added to an object and treated seperately from material surfaces.&nbsp; I&#39;m a little shocked at learning that this is apparently not the case).&nbsp; But why should that mean that their PHYSICS properties are lost when a material or texture preset is loaded?</p>

<p>It shouldn&#39;t.&nbsp; Pure and simple.&nbsp; For example, if I manually change the texture files or shaders on a surface with dForce settings set up, those settings remain intact.&nbsp; It&#39;s only when I load a preset for all surfaces that the settings go away.&nbsp;</p>

<p>Is there any plan to fix this in the future?</p>

<p>I often use the same characters, but since they have many morphs, it takes a while to load them.</p>

<p>Would it be possible to actually easily create a new figure, to load them into the scene at the speed of light?<br />
I&#39;m not talking about saving it as a &quot;actor/character&quot;, because that way is still slow to load into the scene. I&#39;d like to replicate what happens when you load a figure you&#39;ve bought: that is fast!</p>

      <description><![CDATA[<p>While I was working in Building/Scripting, my Viewport disappeared.</p>

<p>I went to Windows/Panes/Viewport to reopen it, but nothing happened.</p>

<p>I closed Das Studio and reopened it, but still no Viewport will appear.</p>

<p>(It disappeared while I was dragging an object across the screen.)</p>

<p>Anyone know why Viewport will not reappear in Building/Scripting?</p>

      <description><![CDATA[<p>So I&#39;ve looked on the forums and done a fair bit of googling before posting this question as a new thread.</p>

<p>It all started when I tried to use Stonemason&#39;s city loft with two G8 figures in: I left the render overnight and the next morning, after 7 hours, I had 0% progress and a grainy, blurry render. I was using the lighting out of the box, (which looked amazing in the preview window). I changed the lighting to use DA real-world lighting, which is normally my go-to lighting set for Iray, and some emmissives for the lightbulbs, and left it to cook while I was at work. 12 hours later, I came back to 0% progress and another grainy render.</p>

<p>&nbsp;</p>

<p>I started doing a bit of research and tried a range of different things. I changed the scene and tried a number of different Tesla3D interiors I&#39;d picked up (I know the figures are OK because I&#39;ve rendered them outdoors with no problems). I went through and deleted every single prop and component that wasn&#39;t in the scene, and made sure to minimise the number of reflective and transparent surfaces. No wine-glasses or polished floors to slow things down! I tried using a mix of exterior lighting outside and emissive lighting inside, trying one or the other as well as both. Then I read that emissive lighting slows down renders but that some people had success with applying emissive surfaces to a primitive sphere or cube. I tried that too. Someone reccommended KindredArt&#39;s ghost lights, so I tried them. Each time, the render progress fails to move beyond 0%, even after several hours. I am literally at my wits&#39; end trying to produce a workable indoor render with Iray.</p>

<p>I&#39;m using a 4ghz processor with 16gb RAM and a GTX960 graphics card- not the most amazing setup I know, but usually enough to render four or five G8 figures plus scenery in an outdoor setting with decent results after 6 hours or so. It&#39;s not uncommon to leave a render cooking overnight and get to 50-80% progress with something I can post-work into a decent scene. Rare indeed that I get 0% progress and a picture that looks like a badly tuned TV.</p>

<p>I&#39;d love to hear what I&#39;m doing wrong, because I find it hard to believe that DAZ are selling indoor scenes that are entirely useless to anyone without a top of the line graphics card.</p>

<p>I&#39;m having this black eye and hairline problem!</p>

<p>Max Bounce Rays is set to &quot;-1&quot;.</p>

<p>I&#39;ve tried loading the hair again and changing the eyes, with no results.</p>

<p>I&#39;ve played around in the &quot;Surfaces&quot; tab but I wasn&#39;t able to solve the problem.</p>

<p>It happens both in Interactive and in Photorealistic, while the sclera is white in Texture Shaded. The material is MDL.</p>

<p>Does somebody know how to fix this?</p>

      <description><![CDATA[<p>It happened like 3 times now with &quot;overnight&quot; renders.&nbsp;</p>

<p>After about 1000 frames SUDDENLY DAZ slows down by a big amount. Only 20% speed.</p>

<p>I woke up, restarted DAZ and continued where I left off,...back to 100%.</p>

<p>Memory is not a problem, RAM used 7/16 GB. Using GPU only. Rendering Image series. Temps are totally fine everywhere, pretty cool. No lights in scene, no moving BIG parts, just basic breathing, blinking /expressions test. No Cam movement. So basically all stays nearly same. Only basic figure,...no cloth nothing...so VRAM should also not be the cause. GTX 2080.</p>

<p>Forgot to check if it fell back to &quot;CPU only&quot; but 95% sure it&#39;s not the case since my cooling would become louder, and I would have realized it. Also, I did set up an alarm, that wakes me if it falls back to CPU.</p>

<p>Next time I will check the log.</p>

<p>This is kinda upsetting because when I wanna render really long animations, I cannot let him render for more than 6-8 hours without restart.</p>

<p>The problem must be internal/memory related. But no obvious&nbsp;memory leak, since Memory system usage always stays at 7/16GB....strange.</p>

      <description><![CDATA[<p>I have been dabbling with DAZ for many years now and find that no matter how much I learn I cannot seem to solve the basic requirements. There are a few areas that are problematic in DS that I hope some learned individual here can shed a bit of light on(Ironically Lighting is one of those problem areas).&nbsp; But, I would like to know if anyone knows what is going on between the rigging between 3DXchange and DAZ. I do a lot of MMD motion conversions and learned how to do it with 3DXchange here in the the forums. I export the charcter FBX from DAZ into 3DXchange and apply the Imotion I created from the MMD FBX . Everything looks good inside of 3DXchange when motion applied to a DAZ character. When I export to the motion to BVH that I just saw working perfect on a DAZ character in 3DXchange, and import that BVH on to the same characters in DAZ, the G1 looks good, but the the G3 BVH doesn&#39;t&nbsp; conform as well in DAZ&nbsp; ( shoulders and arms don&#39;t move correctly). Mind you, I made two seperate conversions in 3DXchange one for G1 based and one for G3 based.&nbsp; I am trying to understand rigging and I am yet still a total novice, so it seems to me that the same rig should move the same in 3DXchange or DAZ. Anyone have any ideas on the matter?&nbsp; Thanks!</p>

      <description><![CDATA[<p>&nbsp; &nbsp; &nbsp; &nbsp; &nbsp; This has been driving me crazy.&nbsp; Each time I render a video, there&#39;s like a 20 to 30 percent chance that part of the video will come out completely black.&nbsp; Latest episode of this had the first 1sec coming out completely black and the last 2 seconds rendering fine.&nbsp; Then when I render it again without changing a thing, it came out fine.&nbsp;&nbsp;</p>

<p>See attached thumbnails below.</p>

<p>Sometimes it&#39;s reversed with the first part coming fine follwed by the remaining video rendering black.&nbsp; Anyone else have this happening?</p>

<p>I&#39;ve installed DAZ for the first time on my Windows 10 i7 desktop which has 16GB RAM running an NVIDIA GeForce GTX 970 graphics card and it just immediately hangs after starting up. It is really fustrating. Have attached the log file. If anyone can tell me how to reset the software settings outside of the application itself that would be really helpful.</p>

I&#39;ve recently installed G8 and whereas G8M seems to be loading and working just fine, G8F is loading with a very strange face (See image 01 G8FLoad.jpg)<br />

When I inject a character morph, it appears that the morph is not getting applied correctly, and the funky facial features are still present (See image 02 G8F Abby.jpg)<br />
<br />
For comparison, I have loaded Grace into both G3F and G8F. Notice that the G3F Grace is shorter and the face is &#39;normal&#39;* (See image G3-G8Grace.jpg)</p>

<p>*Note: I have altered the textures to remove the eyebrows</p>

<p>I have looked through the &#39;Currently Used&#39; list but see nothing wrong (I have attached the one while Grace was loaded, see image Currently Used.jpg)<br />

I have also tried uninstalling and reinstalling Genesis 8 using the Daz Install Manager but there was no change.<br />
<br />
Does anyone have any ideas what might be going on or how to fix it?<br />

      <description><![CDATA[<p>I am trying to create a z-depth (grayscale) image to use as a relief. I created the camera using Volume/depthcue/variable bricks but whatever Depth cue setting I use renders a bright white model and pure black background (exr file). I cannot find any settings that will create the grayscale I need. This is a project for a soon to arrive granddaugher, all help is appreciated!</p>

      <description><![CDATA[<p>Hey all, I recently ordered a new PC with a GTX 1080ti with 12gb ram. <p>Is the 2080 the better option. Will 8GB be adequate for most scenes or will I find myself wanting more? Can anyone offer some advice here because it&#39;s holding up the build and I&#39;m really not sure what to do.</p>

<p>But if I try it it always imports the paths I have set not the originals, what do I need to do? (I don&#39;t want to do a full windows reinstall XP)</p>

      <description><![CDATA[<p>that black cornea issue is bugging me in Carrara in Octane render and it&#39;s the damned Genesis 8&nbsp;GEOMETRY</p>

<p>I know some have issues in DS if not at origin</p>

<p>but it doesn&#39;t matter where I put Genesis 8&nbsp;in Carrara using Octane it happens regardless</p>

<p>Carrara native render is not fussed</p>

<p>I am bringing it up as while it is a known issue in DAZ studio, its an actual fault with the mesh IMO</p>

<p>yes I fix it by dragging the corneas into the head and hiding them but that&#39;s not the point</p>

<p>does it affect Max and Maya users and Reality too?</p>
