All the shapes and materials are in my content library, but they aren't showing up in my smart content, and I cant find the brows themselves at all. I feel sure that I must be missing something. I've checked under hair, of course, but also accesories, props, materials, shapes, and everything else I could think of. So now, I'm asking here!

Hello there!

I feel I saw that somewhere, but I can't find where nor by myself how to do it. Basically, I morphed a shirt to my model on Zbrush without autofiting first because my figure has an unusual chest morphing ( wink wink ;) ). There you go I made the morph has I wanted it to be. Then I made it to collide with the figure and tried parenting it to the abdomen upper. Big surprise, the clothe piece is not following the arms and torso when I pose the model. :/

I'm sure this is a very noobish problem (as I perceive myself to be)

Thx in advance

This is on all dForce items.

Using a GTX1070 and just updated to 419.17. (I had 418 but degraded due to iray not using GPU) This new driver has solved that as Iray uses GPU now.

But i still can't use dForce.... Any help/tips/advice is welcome.

EDIT: Did a clean driver install and now i have dForce back.

Anyone have any success using the DazToMaya tools or the Genesis 8 to maya tools to get everything including the expression faces morphs into Maya.

To be clear i mean the animatable expression face morphs, for example; smile, open mouth, open eyes, raise brows etc ...

As things are now, when i port characters over to Maya using the plugins, they seem to export the morphs relating to changing shape, for example ... make the nose bigger etc ... but doesnt port the expression morphs.

Also for clarity, this is for animation purposes, not a still / static pose. I understand i can just port over an OBJ, FBX etc with the expression; this is static only, not for animation.

The expression poses need to go into the blend shape editor for maya.

I'm guess expressions are not driven by blend shapes / morphs inside of Daz for Gen 8 .. given they have a bunch of bones in the face, i assume the expressions are bone controlled? which would mean they need controls applying on the maya side through teh plugin.

Tried to contact the dev about this, but no response as yet.

Thanks

I have a very cheap computer. I have recently come back to 3d modelling after about 6 years of not really doing much.

I have so much old content I can easily play for many years with just that, which won't push my system. But I am lured by the new shinies. Genesis 8 is lovely to use. I bought a few new figures and its love, lol.

I have been experimenting with the new stuff, and it is obvious that my poor PC is not exactly up to scratch.

What I would like to know is in what department is my biggest bottle neck, in other words, which bits should I update first, when I can afford to.

I like using Iray very much, the lighting is so much easier than before, and the HDRI domes make attractive renders so very easy, even for me. I mainly render portraits of characters that I create or simple fantasy scenes. I rather like playing with LAMH and the new Deforce draping is great.

I can render single people fine, it takes about an hour to render Edward 8 HD as a close up portrait in Iray. I can do a person in an HDRI dome in about half an hour. Add more things to the scene and the time goes up. I have had a couple of times where Daz closed on me in disgust at my trying to add more to a scene.

I am using Windows 10 home 64 bit.
Processor - Intel i5 3330 @ 3GHz
RAM - 8GB DDR3, the mother board can take up to 16GB
Graphics - 2047MB Nvidia GeForce GT 730 (yes, I know, my son's hand-me-down)

So should I be looking at adding more RAM or updating the graphics card, or what? Any hints on how to improve with what i have would be appreciated.

Thank you very much indeed.

I am looking for any documentation on this product but there seems to be none. Not even a readme file.

So if I want to convert all my G3 Poses to G8 Poses what do I do?

Do I run the "Genesis 3 to Genesis 8 Pose Converter" Script and follow the prompts?

What are the !Add and !Remove Script options?

My guess is the "Pose Corrector" Script will correct individual poses on the fly, without saving them to G8 versions.

I just wish there was a little more guidance on this product as it would save me some time. Instead I am looking through the forums for any answers I can find, and posting this question hoping for a response.

Hello fellas. I scoured the forums and google, but cannot find an answer. My problem is that my GPU (GTX 1070) has about 5GB of RAM used (this happens when a render starts), but when I begin the render, as soon as the image loads up in the Render window, my CPU spikes to 100% for the render. Why is it doing that? I have tried quality set to "1", 512 Texture compression, and 1080p up to 4K, all the same thing.

My normal RAM is barely half used, and the GPU never goes to its full 8GB (or, in most cases, 7.8GB) of VRAM. Why is it preferring to use the CPU?

Hey,

I'm trying to compose a new scene & for the 1st part of it I notice Gramps has a funny two-tone mustache (notice the flesh color on the mustache along the edge of the nostils) ? Anyone know why? Is that just the skin & hair being too glossy? They are set at defaults. The lantarn though I set to kcd/m^2

Thanks.

Ciao

Hello

First of all, it's not about animation, only single frames. For my new project I am supposed to create a crowd. Unfortunately, I do not know enough about the software. I work with a NVIDIA Geforce910M 2GB VRAM with a INTEL Quad N3150.

What's better for my hardware: LoRez figures or G8? What are the experience values, along with some props, clothes and background - how many actors can I get (with reasonable handling) on a picture?

Thank you if you share your experience with me, just trying it out is "painful" when work only leads to a crash.....

How do I point the Smart Content database to this folder? I don’t want all that on my C drive: there isn’t room. I also don’t want to have to redownload all that stuff.

I am currently working on a product of mine and have encoutered the following issue. I am in the stage of creating morphs for my product. As I move the dial from 0.00 to 100% half way to 100% the objects shrink but as they reach 100% the return to the original size.

So say I wanted to provide my customers with the option of using the adjustments inbetween 0 - 100% they can't because the mesh size becomes altered after 0 up until 99%.

Hi, everyone. This is my first post on Daz3d forums. I'm using Daz 4.10 Pro Edition 64 bit

I'm more familiar with animating in Poser, so that's why my post title references Poser's "Animation Palette". Using that, I can see all the actors and their tree of parts, and keyframes that have been applied. I can easily select a range of keyframes and delete them, or copy and paste them elsewhere. I can open up a graph editor on any parameter to add-remove keyframes, visualize and manipulate splines...etc.
So, I can just as easily select all of the present keyframes for, say, "head" and all it's children...or I can select all the present keyframes in any part of "head"

Just starting with these capabilities that I just mentioned (and ignoring any number of others)... Can someone tell me how I would be able to do these basic things in Daz? Is there anything like Poser's "animation palette" in Daz3D? I'm seeing a lot of neat tools with great potential, but I can't find where I get to that level of convenient control over extant keyframes. Hopefully, I just don't know where to look.

Thanks!

However, the description does not list a .DUF file for the props, just .PP2 and .OBJ, so my question is will I be able to use this prop from the Smart Content tab, or will it be located in Content Library only? I have not purchased anything from DAZ that is not a .DUF file so far, so that's why I'm a bit confused.

Also, will this use 3Delight or Iray? I am only rendering in Iray so I don't want to purchase anything that is only 3Delight, and so far it's been hit and miss with older products because not all of them use Iray.

What's Included and Features

Props: (.PP2 and .OBJ)

Hi,

I am trying to create a custom character by creating an image map and inserting it over an existing character's face. So far, what I've done is used Gimp to open up the image of the character's face and then opened up my own image, selected the face and copied it onto the character's photo, then adjusted the color and blended the edges and finally saved that as a .jpg in its own folder. I then went to the 'surfaces' tab in Daz Studio 4.1 when my character was loaded and selected the "face" option. I clicked on the icon of the face next to the 'diffuse color' settings and changed it to my custom photo. My custom photo did appear on my character, but the character's face is still visible also...so there are 2 faces on 1 head. Does anyone know the next steps in masking the character's face so that only my custom image map is showing? My current model is Genesis 3, but I may try Genesis 8 if that's better. Thank you

Is their any way to keep this from happening BEFORE I rendor the scene, so I am looking at the correct shade (hair color), while I work with the character?

...Or this just the way the product works?
