<br />
I need to understand the process / workflow of: Fitting my original content that I will&nbsp;model as accessories for Genesis 8 (Male +&nbsp;Female)<br />
Just to be clear I&#39;m not talking about Drag &amp; Drop to parent an asset to a character in Daz,&nbsp;but the all process from Exporting.<br />
I&#39;m currently using latest versions of: Daz 4.11 and Blender 2.8 (both on Beta currently but I had no issues so far).<br />
<br />
<strong>Once My Model is complete in Blender 2.8:</strong><br />
<strong>1</strong>&nbsp;-&nbsp;What Blender export should I use for Daz - OBJ vs FBX ?<br />
<strong>2</strong>&nbsp;- Can you please share the best export properties?<br />
<strong>3</strong>&nbsp;- Once I import my model to Daz, How do I make it FIT to ANY Genesis Character, I believe it&#39;s called Comfort? but I&#39;m not sure...<br />
<br />
<strong>Example of what I try to do:&nbsp;</strong><br />
<span>Let&#39;s say I make an asset that should fit the chick or the nose or the forehead of the character and I modeled it that it&#39;s wrap around the face like a band, or futuristic&nbsp;</span><strong>elastic mask that &quot;sits&quot; exactly on the face&nbsp;</strong><span>even if the nose is HUGE or small it will wrap around it.</span><br />
<span>So basically if the Genesis 8 character&#39;s face features are different, that elastic mask should fit EXACTLY on ANY genesis 8 character, that&#39;s my goal.</span><br />
<br />
<span>I don&#39;t know how to explain this, but I see that works with bracelets to fit any thickness of any hand, masks, and of course Clothes that fits automatically as soon as you Drag and Drop it on a character.</span><br />

<p>I am new to DAZ having signed up last December (2018).&nbsp; I have Daz Studio 4.10. &nbsp; My machine is running Windows 7 with 16gig ram and an i7 6700k 4ghz 8 thread processor with on board graphics controller.&nbsp;&nbsp; Yes it is fast machine, and up to now I been good with the on board graphics.&nbsp; While rendering single characters is OK by themselves, when it comes to multiple characters in indoor environments.&nbsp; Things slow down drastically, sometimes taking up to two hours for a render to complete.</p>

<p>I know that I am going to look in to a graphics card soon and it is (obviously) going to be an Nvidia card.&nbsp;&nbsp; Taking a quick peek at current cards and also some threads here, it does seem like the GTX 1080ti seems to be the favored card.&nbsp;&nbsp; However, it is pushing my price limit.&nbsp;&nbsp; The 2080ti is out of the question.&nbsp;&nbsp; But the 1070ti seems to fall right where I want it in price.&nbsp;&nbsp;</p>

<p>So the questions I have are these?&nbsp;&nbsp; How is the 1070ti over the built in CPU graphics?&nbsp;&nbsp; How is the 1080ti over the 1070ti?&nbsp;&nbsp; Out of the associated brands, which is best?&nbsp; EVGA, MSI, Zotac?&nbsp; Or should I foot the heavier bill and go with an actual Nvidia brand?</p>

<p>I am curious to hear the input from those that have used these cards with version 4.10 of Daz Studio.</p>

      <description><![CDATA[<p>I saved my work last night, went to bed, and decided to start up a render before doing chores. It asked for the morphs, the character, and outfits to be reinstalled. Nearly Everything in the scene and oddly somethings that weren&#39;t like poses. But as far as I can see the content is all there. I doesn&#39;t need to be reinstalled. I don&#39;t use connect either. Even dim thinks its there.&nbsp;</p>

<p>Worse, I just reinstalled everything last month, so I know everything&#39;s there.</p>

<p>I checked the directory mapping and we&#39;re all good... So what has happened? Is there anything I can do to get it to recognize whats installed?&nbsp;</p>

      <description><![CDATA[<p>I just ordered 3 new SSDs and I&#39;m planning to migrate everything from my 3 old HDDs to them. I currently have an HDD with an E partition where all my DS content is (for DS2, DS3 &amp; DS4), although the program files are all on C (also an SSD).</p>

<p>My question is, if I name a new SSD &#39;E&#39; and copy over all my content to it, will it all still open normally? I would think so, but I&#39;m wondering if there are any oddities in either DS or Windows (7) that I don&#39;t know about.</p>

<p>Recently, when I start the Install Manager que, when it&#39;s done there&#39;s a list of &quot;Download Failed&quot; lines. The progress bar moves for a while and then the download fails.</p>

<p>I haven&#39;t changed ISP&#39;s or system settings. The DAZ site and other internet is working fine. I&#39;ve tried a secondary ISP and disabling real-time virus protection. There&#39;s plenty of space on the drives.</p>

<p>Any suggestions?</p>

<p>Fairly recently I bought the Lethal Rogue Outfit for Genesis figure.&nbsp;&nbsp; There seems to be very bad fitting problem with this outfit.&nbsp; I tried it on two Genesis 8 figures, of which the outfit was designed for, and it seems as if if fits too small.&nbsp; Generally there are some adjustment controls to help fit outfits on some figures that have some endowed proportions.&nbsp; Case in point, I have a tendency to create warrior like female characters and naturally their frames are overall larger.&nbsp; Twice I tried this outfit on such a figure and the results come out as in the first picture.&nbsp; I normally do not have this with a Genesis 8 outfit...Putting a Genesis 2 or 3 outfit, yes I have it, but then I use the shaping controls for the garment to fix the issue.&nbsp; However, the Lethal Rogue Outfit has no such compensating controls.&nbsp; All there is an &#39;Expand All&#39; option and that isn&#39;t even there for some of the parts.&nbsp; Using the scaling adjustment causes weird problems.&nbsp; Such as the neck goes way too high on the shrug.</p>

<p>Again this happens to figures that are larger and more endowed.&nbsp; If I created a small to average size figure using the Genesis 8 base figure to start and put the Lethal Rogue outfit her, it seems to work out fine (see second picture below).&nbsp;&nbsp;</p>

<p>So my question is if anyone knows of a way that I can get the outfit to fit the character on the left without distorting it.&nbsp;&nbsp; Yes, I know of the collision iterations setting and I tried increasing that, but it seems to have no effect.</p>

      <description><![CDATA[<p>I have a GTX 1080 ti, so obviously I want to render with the GPU. But despite having 11GB of vram, this renders on CPU only. I&#39;ve tried deleting object not in camera and reducing textures to a 4th of their resolution, but nothing. Very strangely, the DJ booth loaded all by itself causes CPU only rendering - but if I remove it, it still renders CPU only. Anyone have the same problem?</p>

I can use the RTX2070 for DForce, but I get a &quot;no usable devices&quot; when trying to use it for Photoreal and Interactive renders.       <description><![CDATA[<p>Hey guys, I was just wondering if there is anything similar to render time subdivision inside of Daz Studio? Normally I would keep my objects at sub level 1 and have them subdivided twice at render time, that way the scene stays light. I would just really like to know if I should be exporting my environment assets at a higher subdivision level specifically for use in daz.</p>

      <description><![CDATA[<p>Hi all - could not find any forums references that hit directly on this question.</p>

<p>I&#39;m working up a set of appendages - for the sake of visulisation, think antennae - that are themselves rigged (ie with a skelteon and with the mesh weight mapped onto the skeleton).</p>

<p>Ideally, I&#39;d be able to geograft this one appendage figure onto multiple triax figures (Genesis, G2M, G2F etc. etc.)&nbsp; ... but it&#39;s looking like that&#39;s not possible - all the products and discussions I see are all about geografting to just one figure.&nbsp; So, putting it out there, is there a way to achieve multiple figure geografting, or is it going to be a case of creating multiple to-be-geografted figures?&nbsp; The advantage of just one is that all UV work and all morphs only have to be built / maintained once.</p>

<p>I understand that the geograft requires the subject and target to share identical boundary vertices.&nbsp; In some cases that is no big deal (with tolerances eg G3M and G8M share nearly identical geometry in some places).</p>

<p>My thought to deal with real geometry differences is a 4-step one:</p>

<ol>
	<li>Create the appendage with all its morphs and articulation.</li>

	<li>Geograft the specific boundary surface to the specific genesis model.</li>

<p>... which will only work if the appendage can be geografted to multiple boundary surfaces and if a figure with a geograft can itself be geografted.</p>

<p>sorry if this has been discuste before, i did try to find a good benchmark in the long thread. But i didnt fina exactly what i was looking for.</p>

<p>today i have a gtx1080ti card with i5-8400 and 16 GB ram. Doing animations take a really long time.</p>

<p>what do you think about rendertime if i buy a rtx2080ti? 50% faster? 10%?</p>

      <description><![CDATA[<p>What would be the best way to get an emissive<em> non reddish </em>surface? Playing with Temperature goes burning red to pure white in a pretty hard gradient, and Im never able to change the hue, say, to green. Emission color quickly gets burned by the light itself, cant seem to make it noticeable.</p>

      <description><![CDATA[<p>Need a bit of help and advice please. Someone has sent me a very good, usable photograph af a rock formation which I plan to use for a rock-climbing or mountaineering&nbsp;scene, the pic is set in Portrait. My problem is, when I import the photo into DAZ (Windows&gt;Panes(Tabs)&gt; Environment) etc,&nbsp;it apears in Landscape and I am unable to alter it&#39;s plane. I would also like to re-size the photo to fill the view-pane. So, I need to rotate the picture and then to re-size it. All suggestion would be most helpful. Thank you all.</p>

      <description><![CDATA[<p>I was playing around with the rigging of the Genesis 2 Male figure in DAZ Studio and now whenever I import the base Gen 2 Male model the rigging is changed accodingly to my last edits. How can I revert it back to its original state?</p>

<p>It&#39;s been driving me nuts. I must have hit &quot;memorize&quot; at some point and whenever I load a new figure it adds the changes. All the morphs work normally except when I add a custom morph based on the default Gen 2 base. In the attached image yo can see the Gen 2 base obj original (white) and the modified Gen 2 figure which has clearly modified proportions.</p>

      <description><![CDATA[<p>Hey&nbsp;guys, I&#39;m looking to develop environments&nbsp;and props for DAZ and I was wondering where I could find the size information for the characters that everyone uses, I need to know this so I can model my objects with a good understanding of proper proportions without&nbsp;having to rescale them later on down the line. In Unreal Engine the general figure size is 182cm, so I am used to modelling my objects in relationship to that figure. Does Daz also work with real world based scale or&nbsp;does it have its own measurement system?</p>

      <description><![CDATA[<p>So, bought the package, install was nominal, but the materials aren&#39;t accessible (see screenshot). It does say the package is installed when I right click on the package.</p>

<p>I don&#39;t install in the default directory, which is most likely why Victoria, Michael, and She Freak are broken for me, but material and light packages never give me issues after installing them through the manager and then manually installing them in DAZ as well. Does this package need default installation to work? Any other fixes?</p>
