Hello,

I have a lot of Genesis 3 zombie poses and weapons products that I purchased that are absolutely wonderful except for one problem I am having.

I am using only Genesis 8 characters in my scenes.

Converting the G3 poses to G8 is not an issue, I just use the G3 to G8 Pose Corrector script on the fly. It works perfectly.

However the wearable props, like guns, swords, etc. do not go into the hand of the G8 figure, they appear further up above the hand. It doesn't matter if I convert the pose first, or after loading the weapon ... the weapon always goes above the hand instead of in it.

If I try to "Fit" the weapon to the figure it does even stranger things. Sometimes it puts the weapon at the characters feet.

My question ... Is there a good rule of thumb or series of steps I can use to make sure the G3 wearables fit the G8 character?

I have the pose conversion figured out, now if I can only get these wearable weapons to fit properly would save a lot of time.

Please help.

I've left the Resolution Level at "Base".

Now when I bring up Morph Loader Pro and load the new obj using the "Choose Morph Files..." button, it reads the obj.

I appologise, I don't know how to explain it very well because of my bad English but I hope that somebody could understand what I'm trying to do.

After I played with so many essential and not and created something that is combined of so many sliders on the shaping tab.
I'm wondering if it's possible to create my very own Genesis 8 (Female) that will kinda of... BAKE ? (if that's the right term) into a brand NEW Genesis 8 Female character that when I'll LOAD it, it won't search for these other models or morphs that I used and load with all the sliders on Zero.

Beside Daz 4.11 (Beta) I'm also using Blender 2.8 (Beta) if it helps... if there is some transforming back and forward needs to be done for such thing?
or maybe it can be done inside Daz?

Any step-by-step to do such thing will be very helpful, thanks ahead! :)

One question: this hair has several braids each of which has a single bone, so can be "moved" using bend forwards/backwards, side to side or twist. The bend movement causes the braid to curve up rather than just pivot from the point where it joins the head, making it look very unrealistic. Are there any other ways of controlling the braids? A single bone for each braid seems to be insufficient to achieve realistic positioning for various head/body positons. Do these braids have morphs to control their positions/length? I haven't found any.

Hello all,

I recently subscribed to Octane Render with the wish of eventually trying to render animations via their cloud render.

I initially tried the trial version of Octane and was able to see images rendering in the viewpoint. Now that I have the "paid" version, I am unable to get an image to render/appear in the OctaneRender Viewport (see attachment).

I've installed according to the directions, to include uninstalling, rebooting and then installing again with no luck. I've studied the manual provide by OTOY and all it does is tell each setting is and what it is for. I've yet to find a step by step to get out of the gate. Can someone point me in the right direction? I'm sure I am missing some important step, but I can't find a guide or figure it out.

Thanks in advance!

Okay. So by now I kind of understand that D|S redistributable content should follow something like:

Parent folder

Data (autogenerated so nothing about it, morphs, materials and UVmaps appear here)

People / Props / Animals / Whatever

Here go the folders as they appear in Daz's content tab

Runtime

Textures

(Feel free to correct any of the above!)

Now, how should that go if I wanted to publish Poser compatible stuff? I think everything should be on Runtime, but I quickly get lost among Geometries, Data, Libraries and so many other arcane folders.

Also, which formats should I save in? I'd like to produce stuff usable both for Daz n Poser. I guess that means some duplication within the ZIP, or is there any good cross-format?

Thank you :)

Hi, I am using more and more DAZ studio, and now I am at the point where most of my meshes (rigged or non-rigged), need to be imported in DAZ. I want to create a library in DAZ, of converted meshes, so I can use the same clothes, hair, poses and animations. Currently all my meshes are coming from different sources and some are rigged by me, some are auto-rigged via mixamo, and other are already rigged (like the MMD or XNAlara for example.

Is there a tutorial that show how do you import figures and basically make them G8? I saw tutorials starting from the bare OBJ and rig it into DS; although I hope there is something faster, because it would take me 2 lives to rig all the models I want to use.

The final objective is to have the easiest project possible, to import figures, make them like if they were official G8 figures, so I can leverage on all my collection of assets in DS. Is this not realistic at all?

I'm wanting to reconfigure my Workspace Layout, but don't want to loose the Scripts Tab in the upper most menus. I'm not sure how I got that added (see above), probably from something I read here but it's been there for awhile, and none of the other layout presets seem to have menu.

I'm only assuming that there's something with the F3 key to bring up the Customize Daz Studio panel, but of course there's no readily available documentation on this either.

In short, where/how does one find out about this sort of stuff with Daz Studio?

Now I see that the dogtags get distorted when put on figure with a more muscular build.

Seems like a pretty fundamental flaw to me...

I have always believed to buy to best you can get for your budget.

Looking around on Newegg, I see that I can either get a 1070 8gb, or a 2060 6gb.

From what I can see, they have the same number of CUDA cores, and seem to run the same speed. So logic suggests that the 1070 is actually the better card, because it has more RAM.

So, before I drop this kind of money, I thought I would ask: Is there any reason to pick the 2060 over the 1070?

I've been brand loyal to ATI for decades, even after AMD bought them. nVidia has done a great job of crowding everyone else out of the market, and I've decided that faster render times would, indeed, be worth a switch.

Thank you for your help.

I have an odd problem in Zbrush--I can use theGoZ plugin for everything in a scene except one figure, a Victoria 7 HD. I have literally tried all the other files in the scene but this one always comes up with an error message "Unable to connect with Pixologic Zbrush. Check the. installation". I can't figure out why this one figure is not working. I was able to create a character from the figure that wouldn't transfer and paste the figure to the new character and aligned the two. The new figure transfers easily to Zbrush so my problem is resolved but I'm curious to know if anyone else has had this issue. I'd like to prevent this from happening in the future as the workaround takes a bit of time.

Today I reinstalled to a new hard drive. I didn't bother trying to move everything, I just went in, uninstalled, and reinstalled it. I didn't go hunting for every last folder/ini/registry setting. (I should have known better) and was hoping to escape a few bugs I was having.

For one, I cannot run clothing converters. Genesis 2 to 8, genesis 3 to 8. Genesis to Genesis 8 never did work properly, even when the interface loaded. (I'd point it to the Daz Connect folder, and after waiting FOREVER, it would then tell me that there was nothing to convert.)

Some items, though installed, show an odd icon on their thumbnail, with a "U" on it. I can't uninstal it. I can't install it.

I load a Genesis 8 female, load a Genesis 8 Male dForce wardrobe item, hit fit to, and it crashes to desktop. It fits regular gen8 clothing items. I can load the Gen8 Male dforce item to the scene just fine. But when I click "fit to" it crashes. I tested Gen8 female dForce items, and they work just fine.

I keep getting the "update" icon for products that are installed. I click update, it takes a while to process, and then nothing happens. Stil says there's an update.

I've posted about bugs before. This is getting old, fast. I've spent a lot of money for these products, and I can't use them. Understand my frustrations. I've reloaded the database. I've reloaded metadata. I've reset defaults. This shouldn't be so damn hard. If I uninstall a program, it should be eradicated from a system, and a fresh install should be free of any glitches caused by a previous install. Instead, I keep getting the same ones back, and then some new ones. If I reload database, for instance, it loses a bunch of stuff that I then have to reinstall.

It's very frustrating.

Now I've gone and bought an nVidia video card to speed up renders. Only I'm trying not to feel as if I've just been wasting money because crap don't work. I can understand maybe old genesis stuff failing, or victoria 4 crap, but no. The three different dForce items are less than a year old. The converters are all new. I've had good luck witht he gen3-gen8 converter on my laptop. I just got the gen2-gen8. The genesis-gen8 doesn't work no matter where I try it.

On top of that, certain utilities don't show up. LineRender9000, for instance.

Do I have to reinstall Windows to sort this problem out? What the heck is causing it? And please, some simple answers would be just great. My previous post on bugs after the last hard drive move got a bit cluttered up with "advice" that wasn't helpful. "Reset the CMS?" WHERE?!? Shouldn't it reset when I reinstall the damn program?

I've lost days trying to sort this crap out. I just want to sit at my computer and make some art. I've got a new book cover to do, a webcomic I'm trying to get done...

Attaching the log file. Also going to submit a report. I just want to get some work done.
