      <description><![CDATA[<p>I decided to convert a character that was using <a rel="nofollow" href="https://www.daz3d.com/sc-joy-for-genesis-3-female">SC Joy for Genesis 3&#39;s </a>default settings (I think) to a dual-lobe, chromatic SSS model, based on another character skin that&#39;s been very successful across many lighting conditions. Initally, I started by messing with the settings, but I started to get werid results with green SSS artifacts, so I started again, using the same material settings as the original character (figure 2 in the attached render). I swapped out the textures and lowered the saturation and boosted the luminosity of the various color channels to get the pale skin I was after. Things went weird again. I triple checked to make sure I wasn&#39;t missing textures, emission was turned on, and everything else I could think of. Then it occured to me that maybe the scene got bugged, so I loaded the other figure and rendered: it comes out fine.&nbsp;</p>

<p>I can&#39;t figure out why I&#39;m getting this completely bizarre effect. In previous versions, it looked like the HDRI was being used as a map inside the skin shader (which it isn&#39;t). Any suggestions on fixing or trouble shooting this?</p>

      <description><![CDATA[<p>Hello everyone!</p>

<p>I purchased the gen 3 to 8 clothing converter today in an attempt to convert some of the gen 3 clothes I got in the DAZ store on sale for my gen 8 females. Unfortunately, only some of the items actually converted, and after reading the read-me several times, I cannot figure out what is going on. When I try to run the script it shows this pop up message that none of the items are selected, even though they are obviously checked. I have also run into a message that 0 out of 0 items have been converted successfully. Is there any way to fix this? I would love to use this script, but for some reason it&#39;s just not working for me. I have tried to restart my computer, and have restarted DAZ several times. Nothing has worked. Any advice would be appreciated. Thank you!</p>

<p>I need your help about how to animate a prop. For the needs of a comic book I&#39;m preparing , I need to animate a helmet. I started from the Leviathan one from Midnight Stories scifi suit. I prepared it on my 3D modeleur. I divided it into parts.&nbsp;<br />

What I need is to understand how to animate the helmet in the way of a morph , such as simple. I would&nbsp;want a parameter cursor to control the process.&nbsp;<br />

<p>I got my RTX 2080TI today and was very excited to see the increase in speed compared to by 970 but it will just sit at the &quot;rendering image&quot; dialogue and not ever begin to render if I try to use the GPU. If I include the CPU as a Photoreal device it will eventually begin and the GPU will sit idle. It works fantastically for the display view when I swap to IRAY mode so it&#39;s a bit of a headscratcher. NVidia drivers are up to date.<br />
<br />
It goes very smoothly with the viewport but does nothing when attempting to render.</p>

      <description><![CDATA[<p>I&#39;m making an original figure, a female character. All goes good, she&#39;s rigged and weightmapped and textured and looking great&nbsp;and Im nearly done -- BUT THEN...</p>

<p>Well one piece of my left pinky finger (my figure&#39;s not mine) is apparently, uh, not-selectable. Not that appears as such on the scene tree or anything, but I just can click on it :(&nbsp;</p>

<p>I&#39;d swear it was selectable before. I&#39;ve been playing hand poses and all.</p>

<p>When I select all I notice too that particular node has no bounding box. I&#39;m looking at the joint editor, the geometry editor, even them weightmaps, but Im quite clueless.</p>

My current computer&nbsp;doesn&#39;t have the specs for DAZ. I tried to render and it was horrible. What computer would you all suggest being the best to use to get the most out of this program? I was thinking of getting a Microsoft Surfacebook or a Macbook Pro. Or you might know&nbsp; of something better.&nbsp;</p>

      <description><![CDATA[<p>I&#39;m trying to install my large Content Library onto my new SSD. My older SSD is a C drive, and I&#39;ve given my new SSD the letter Q. I initially installed a lot of my content through DIM, and I directed both DIM and DS to my Q drive. However, as I&nbsp;installed my content, I noticed that my storage in my older C drive was increasing along with my storage in my Q&nbsp;drive.&nbsp;I think the reason DIM was doing this is it was still installing manifest files onto my C drive. But when I attempted to change the path of the Manifest archive from my C drive to my Q drive, it reverted right back to the C drive. Is there some way to change the path of the Manifest Archive?&nbsp;</p>

I uploaded a screen shot so you can see what I mean -- the &#39;add dforce modifier&#39; option isn&#39;t there at all! What am I missing here? I am absolutely stumped and I haven&#39;t even learned anything yet!</p>

<p>after i use GoZ to export Zbrush i got perfect model like it supost to be but there are part of it only have 1 face poligon at first it let me do everything until i export&nbsp;fix file to printer software they ok to show up but they keep saying error and dont let me slice file&nbsp;</p>

<p>Can anyone identify the problem and how to fix it ?</p>

      <description><![CDATA[Hello my dear Daz enthusiasts! I have a small question... :)

Is it possible to make an animation.... And then set the first keyframe 100 scale and the last 800 scale and make the character grow gradually thru out the animation from the first frame to the last?

It seems I'd have to go keyframe to keyframe scaling bigger the character, but that doesn't make her grow gradually and it's not a viable option if there are too many keyframes.

I've tried creating an aniblock thinking that a gradual change of scale could be applied over the animation itself rather than the characte, but it's the same thing, I'd have to go frame by frame to achieve that gradual constant growth.

Anybody got any ideas? :/]]></description>

<p>They are sticking up in the image on the product page, but droop down when I apply the clothing in Daz.</p>

      <description><![CDATA[<p>My goal is to apply normal wrinkle maps that are driven by pose parameters.&nbsp;From the looks of it, shader mixer seems like the right way to go to achieve this goal.&nbsp;I am not familiar with shader mixer, but it looks similar to Softimage&#39;s render tree which I am somewhat familiar with. Here are what needs to be done:</p>

<p>1) Layer several normal maps. Example these are the normal maps I made. One for relaxed pose and the other has a bunch of compression wrinkles on it (sorry for the watermark):</p>

<p>2) Layer several masks that will be used to select specific areas of the face to be wrinkled. Layer blend mode should be &quot;additive&quot; or &quot;lighten&quot; or whatever you want to call it. The final mask output should then be used as a mask for the compressed normal map which is layered over the relaxed normal map. Here are right brow, left brow, mouth, and chin masks for example:</p>

      <description><![CDATA[<p>I&#39;m trying to create a scene that uses occlusion - specifically, I&#39;m using the Lights_UberAndArea preset that comes with Amazing Skins for G2M. One of the lights in the preset, UberSphere_OcclusionContribution, when enabled, causes this to happen.</p>

<p>I&#39;m assuming this has something to do with the fact that this article of clothing is both transparent and close to/touching the skin, combined with how the render engine (3Delight) handles the lighting. I&#39;ve seen the same issue in other scenes that didn&#39;t use occlusion, and the solution in those cases was to disable &#39;Cast Shadows&#39;, on the tights, but this particular light seems to have a different method of creating shadows (if you look under the Shadow menu shown here, the Shadow Type is set to None) that ignores the Cast Shadows setting.</p>

      <description><![CDATA[<p>I wanted to open my work with the view that I had taken so long to position but Daz always opens in it&#39;s default view.&nbsp; I have created a camera with the view I would like to save but now I have reopened the file I cannot work out how to see that view.&nbsp; I have double clicked the preset but nothing changes.</p>

      <description><![CDATA[<p>I&#39;ve been organizing my libraries for quite sometime and adding custom categories where I feel things should go for me to be able to access what I need faster. So far so good. Not had an issue really until recently. In the screen shot below is three main columns. How I have been adding categories is using the content pane and scrolling down to categories and finding the area I want a new subcategory in. I right click on the screen and choose add sub category. Then I visit the items I want to place in those categories and right click on their thumbnails and select categorize. I select the spot and I am good to go. Those items show up in the category I picked or created in the smart content pane.</p>

<p>However, as my library grows I am needing to add a few top&nbsp; level categories under props and it won&#39;t let me The second column in the screen shot is the area it won&#39;t let me add anything. Let me rephrase that, if I select props in the first column, right click and add sub category it does appear in the second column. I can find items and categorize them to be in the custom category and the category will NOT show up at all in smart content pane. I can select levels in the second column and add sub&nbsp;cats under those, they appear in the 3rd column, and they appear in the smart content pane with no problems. Is it possible to be able to add top level categories under props.</p>

      <description><![CDATA[<p>Recently, my human figures have been coming out transparent. Not their clothes or hair, just their skin and eyes. And it only effects the Genesis figures as far as I&#39;ve seen; my animals have all come out fine. I&#39;ve checked the surfaces tab; the opacity is set to 100%. I&#39;m sure some setting just got flipped somewhere, but I don&#39;t know where to look for it.</p>

<p>I&#39;ve included an example render. I use 3Delight because, for my purposes, Iray is too slow and 3Delight looks fine (at least it did). From left to right, the figures are Genesis 1, 2, and 3. That Genesis 3 figure is actually the first to come out decent, although I meant those to be reading glasses rather than sunglasses.</p>

      <description><![CDATA[<p>Just put DS in my new computer. Now when I render, all I get is blackness.</p>

<p>By this I mean, the render canvas window appears with gray checkerboad while it prepares to render. Then, after it reports that the render canvas was written, that window then shows absolute black.</p>

<p>I used to get this blackness when I accidentally tried to render from a vantage point under the default ground level.</p>

<p>Did the default lighting disappear or something?</p>

      <description><![CDATA[<p>Hi, I&#39;m struggling to figure out how to set multiple hidden parameters to zero. I&#39;m using Marvelous Designer to create morphs for clothes for specific figures. In order to do this I need to change all the parameters created by autofitting clothing to zero. I currently have to do this manually every time, which usually means up to 50 parameters being manually set to zero. Is there a better way?</p>
