      <description><![CDATA[<p>I have been in despair trying out DFORCE, no matter what I did with an imported object from 3DS Max I got an &quot;explosion&quot; shortly into the simulation, no amount of tuning, changing and so on helped until I accidentally imported an object with no Turbosmooth applied, worked perfectly. I am now using SUBD to smooth in Daz instead of smoothing before exporting and no probs. Well.... Mostly! Hope this helps fellow vertex shufflers.</p>

      <description><![CDATA[<p>I have purchased both the Lil&#39; Scrap Boy and the Lil&#39; Patch Girl recently.</p>

<p>I tried to do a render with The Lil&#39; Scrap Boy at low-res (viewport setting) but the program just hangs and never finishes. It&#39;s consuming 1603 GiB of memory for textures, whereas the Lil&#39; Patch Girl only takes 2 minutes to render and uses only 331 GiB for textures.</p>

<p>I used the same Viewport render settings for both figures, no lights or props, just the figure with the headlamp. After 5 minutes, I had to close the DAZ program which said it was not responding.</p>

<p>Is there some inherent difference between these two products?</p>

<p>I am using Iray for both at Viewport render settings. Nothing fancy. Just the figure with no lights or props.</p>

<p>I have attached the screenshots of DAZ Studio from both renders.</p>

      <description><![CDATA[<p>Hi there, I&#39;ve been having an issue lately with genesis 3 &amp; 8 skin mats that cause pixel sized holes in the alpha channel of&nbsp;the model. The two I&#39;ve had an issue&nbsp;with is <a rel="nofollow" href="https://www.daz3d.com/tess-for-genesis-8-female">Tess for Genesis 8</a> and <a rel="nofollow" href="https://www.daz3d.com/lady-rune-for-genesis-3-female-s">Lady Rune for Genesis 3</a>. Has anyone come across this problem before and/or come up with a solution?</p>

<p>I&#39;ve tried adjusting the firefly filter settings, but they seem to only deal with pixel colour issues, not alpha ones. A way around it in photoshop is to just duplicate the model to a new layer and apply a gaussian&nbsp;blur to the behind layer, but that doesn&#39;t help when doing animations.</p>

<p>Attached is an example. This is the same model rendered with Tess and The Girl 8 default skins. I&#39;ve been trying to figure this out for a while so any help would be greatly appreciated!</p>

      <description><![CDATA[<p>I have tried to import objects into DAZ but they are always mirrored after the import. In other words if I import a staircase model and the first flight of stairs is on the left, after importing into DAZ the appear on the right. It is just mirrored on the horizontal plane. I have tried to use the axis conversion in the import window but it does not have any effect the object still comes in mirrored from what the original was. Is there a way to mirror the object inside of DAZ after import? I have tried Hexagon but couldn&#39;t find a mirror function there either. Any info would be appreciated. Thanks</p>

      <description><![CDATA[<p>I can&#39;t move the camera using WASD keys anymore. This has randomly happened in the past and going to Customize -&gt; Defaults would bring back functionality. This time around, it&#39;s not helping. I&#39;ve even reset DAZ back to factory defaults in preferences -&gt; Interface -&gt; Restore Factory Defaults. Still can&#39;t use WASD for camera movement.</p>

<p>Any ideas?</p>

<p>I&#39;ve bought several animals lately, the latest purchase being the Red Fox by AM.&nbsp;</p>

<p>Does anyone know what the difference is between the figures? Many of the animals in DAZ seem to have 3 versions, like the figures that come with the Red Fox:</p>

<p>1. Red Fox Catalyzer</p>

<p>2. Red Fox LAMH</p>

<p>3. Red Fox</p>

<p>I can&#39;t find any documentation on why there are three figures or what purpose each has (see attached photo).</p>

<p>Any help would be appreciated.</p>

      <description><![CDATA[<p>I&#39;m going for a new build at the end of the month, and I&#39;ll probably get an Asus ROG Strix RTX 2070 8G. I had already settled on an Asus Prime Z390-A mobo (for a different card), but I understand the 2070 is a triple-slot GPU. Will it fit ok? I&#39;ve never had a triple-slot gpu (technically, I think it&#39;s 2.5 slot), so I&#39;m not familiar with the differences.</p>

<p>I&#39;ve been googling this for a while now, but can&#39;t seem to find any concrete info. I know a lot of folks here use the 2070, so hopefully someone can help me out.</p>

<p>i have the hood from the &quot;elven&quot; set ... and it wont let me apply a texture to the outside and a different one to the inside (normal)</p>

<p>but what would i have to do in order to accomplish this ... i figured if i export it to a .obj then load it in hexagon i could skin the inside&nbsp;and outside then export&nbsp;different uv&#39;s but apparantly its not that easy</p>

<p>any ideas??</p>

      <description><![CDATA[<p>Every once in a while&nbsp;it would be handy&nbsp;to switch between cameras that are configured differently,&nbsp;e.g. from a 16:9 aspect ratio&nbsp;to a 4:3 or a 1:1, or&nbsp;from <em>f</em> 22 to <em>f</em>&nbsp;8, an18mm lens to a120, etc.</p>

<p>As it is, if you change one camera&#39;s settings you change them all.</p>

<p>It&#39;s not a big screamin&#39; deal, but I&#39;m wonderind if there&#39;s a way to have several different camera configurations in the same scene at the same time.</p>

<p>This is the best I&#39;ve been able to do with it. There must be some setting to accomplish this.&nbsp;</p>

      <description><![CDATA[<p>My apologies if this has been asked before, but a search of the forums didn&#39;t turn up anything for me.&nbsp;</p>

<p>So the good news is I have a new PC with a much better graphics card, and I&#39;ve been able to successfully migrate my content, character morphs, and so on over to it.&nbsp;</p>

<p>The one thing that&#39;s missing is all the <em>custom categories</em> I used, especially for non-Daz-Store content. As a result of all the work I put into creating these categories and assigning content to them, I tend to use the <strong>Smart Content/Files </strong>area to find stuff much more than <strong>SC/Products</strong> or the <strong>Content Library</strong>. It&#39;s faster and easier. Well, it&nbsp;<em>was</em>, on the old PC! But even after copying my content and Re-importing my Metadata, Daz Studio just lists the default categories.&nbsp;</p>

<p>So my question is this: Is there a way to migrate all those custom category settings from Daz Studio on the old PC to the new one?&nbsp;</p>

      <description><![CDATA[<p>I&#39;ve been migrating Daz to a new system and, using DIM, when I come to the DSON Importer for Poser(Win 64-bit) though, it won&#39;t.&nbsp; I&#39;ve only installed Poser Pro 11.1 and not Poser Poser 2014.&nbsp; I own &amp; could install 2014 but seems mostly redundant having 11.1.&nbsp; Many Daz products have Ps items &amp; they show up (with bit of hunting) in Daz but not in Poser&#39;s UI of course.&nbsp; I&#39;m really not needing to transfer between the two these days and considering just uninstalling all the Ps versions for now. &nbsp;</p>

<p>Might there be some lurking reason NOT to do this?</p>

<p>I recently started to dabble in 3D again after a long break (Poser-6-long break, lol), and among the many things that I have to learn anew there are some where I do not see a logical solution.&nbsp;</p>

<p>Which does not mean there is none, hehe.</p>

<p>I had some old stuff lying around that I would like to use in Daz Studio 4.10.&nbsp;</p>

<p>Most work&nbsp;fine or I found workarounds, but some of them give me the creeps. Namely the Kubelwagen, and the R75 motorcycle with sidecar.&nbsp;</p>

<p>Some parts are untextured (see image for the Kubel, for the R75 it is mainly the sidecar), solid pink-reddish color.</p>

<p>In surfaces I can not find a corresponding material zone, and no matter what texture sets or iray shaders I apply to those models, the parts in question never change...</p>

<p>Probably missing something immeasurably stupid and basic ;)</p>

<p>Hope someone can point me into the right direction...&nbsp;</p>

      <description><![CDATA[<p>I can use the preset shaders just fine but when trying to make custom settings I have no idea what to do and the included help PDF isn&#39;t really helpful. I don&#39;t really get the distinction between the &quot;nail system&quot; and the &quot;top coat&quot; choices. I mean I understand what it&#39;s trying to tell me to do but no matter what I do the new color overides the old color. For example, I want to use red opaque as the base/nail system with black opaque as the top coat and pair that with the opaque marble design. I start off by selecting red opaque then I turn on the top coat system and select black opaque, but this overides the red opaque choice. Finally I choose the marble design but it never comes out right as the red opaque is always overwritten. I&#39;ve tried changing the top coat color in the shader prefrences but that doesn&#39;t work either. What exactly should I be doing?&nbsp;</p>

<p>i have successfully created G8-morphs for some of my G3-characters using the instructions provided by Redz. It generally works well but not on Rune 7 - giving her G8-morph her skin causes ruptures like these ones. They are especially noticable on the legs and on the head like seen here.&nbsp; Is there a reasonably easy fix for this?</p>

      <description><![CDATA[<p>I bought <a rel="nofollow" href="https://www.daz3d.com/step-van-bundle">Predatron&#39;s Step Van Bundle</a> to get the Taco Truck model, so I could change the textures and to make a coffee truck. I&#39;ve changed the required textures, and my coffee truck looks pretty good ... except for a black area on the truck body, beneath the wing mirrors on each side (see first two attached renders). The black area also appears with the original textures (see third attached render).</p>

<p>Does anyone know what that black area is, and how to make it go away? Is there any contact info for the artist, so I can contact him for help?</p>

<p>I&#39;m wondering if there is a way to use G8F morphs on my G8M characters?</p>

<p>One of my favorite products which has cool body parts flattening effect morphs is not available for G8M. The creastor doesn&#39;t seem to want to make it so.</p>

      <description><![CDATA[<p>I&rsquo;m buying a new computer tomorrow, and I am wondering about what I should get. &nbsp;Mostly, I do small renders with one to&nbsp;three characters. &nbsp;However, I am working on a massive project with a few hundred G8 characters, planning on it filling up a 3&rsquo;x10&rsquo; portion of my theater room wall.</p>

<p>If I buy the &ldquo;High-Performance Build&rdquo; (described here:&nbsp;<a rel="nofollow" href="https://www.logicalincrements.com/articles/building-pc-3d-rendering-animation">https://www.logicalincrements.com/articles/building-pc-3d-rendering-animation</a>), would that be sufficient to render my 3&rsquo; x 10&rsquo; image?&nbsp; Would it work better if I divided it into five 3&rsquo; x&rsquo;2&rsquo; images?</p>

<p>Are there any other recommendations about what I should buy?<br />
